Slap together book with little wisdom.......2006-05-24
Am really disappointed in the book for a variety of reasons. One, 95% of the people listed aren't well known, or have such little to say that I got the feeling this was a slap together book that was produced simply to produce monies for his cardiac foundation. So disappointed I am sending it back to Amazon.com.
The few bits of wisdom one can glean from the people in the book, is work hard, don't give up, don't lie and be nice to people on the way up because you may need them on the way down.
Am sitting here trying to figure out who the target audience for this book is? Sure cannot be the under fifty crowd since there are so few people aside from Bill Gates, Joe Perry of Aerosmith for boomers to read. Where are the Tom Hanks, Steve Jobs, the young men who founded Yahoo and Google? Oprah, Jon Stewart, Ron Howard, Mel Gibson? Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young?
Condi Rice, Tony Blair, etc?
Light Father's Day Material.......2006-05-20
Over 120 successful and well-known personages were asked to relay their favorite memories of their dads for this book. Larry King's was "Don't lie," Alan Dershowitz's was "fight up, not down" (don't pick on people smaller than you), Randy Johnson's was "Do the best you can - you might not get a second chance," and Dr. Koop's was learning the difference between being able to "buy" vs. "afford" something.
Yes, there are some tidbits here and there, but it is hard to convey much in a page or less (in most instances). In any case, it is nice Father's Day material, and the proceeds go to one of Larry King's foundations for helping others.

The author has REAL problems.......2007-03-23
To begin with the title of this book is an outright lie. It is written by a person who gives every indication of having substantial unresolved personal issues, takes childish {and wildly inaccurate} cheap shots at men, repeats itself ad nauseam and contradicts itself.
The book is arranged into 101 points; or so it is dishonestly portrayed as doing.
Take the following as an example:-
Point 1.{ direct quote from the book} " Always call when you say your going to call"
Point 47 { direct quote from the book} "Call when you say your going to call"
Point 67 "Call when you say your going to call".............and points 71 and 85....you get the idea.
Then we get to then views on condoms.............points 43,54 and72. All "no condom, no sex". O.K., good idea, but why does the author feel the need to repeat it 3 times? Not everyone has her apparent problem about needing this degree of reinforcement. Of note, in point 89 she advises not to lie about your sexual activity, again a good idea.....-even if you are wearing the condoms she suggests and therefore have minimal risks at passing on a S.T.D.
It's at point 26 where what -if any - credability the author flies out the window.
"Watch twenty minutes of CNN every day so you can keep up with what she already knows". Ignoring her arrogance and ignorance would be easy if she wasn't seriously suggesting this was an accurate representation of male/female dynamics. Again it is more suggestive of the sort of males she has been exposed to, and probably hasn't adequately dealt with.
Point 32 "Don't be afraid if she seems smarter than you. She probably is". It would probably be a safe bet that the author has not had to confront this problem too often.
Point 60 is perhaps the most obvious point where this author is undoubtedly living a very comfortable life....on another planet. " Treat her like a princess and guarantee you'll be treated like a prince".
If anyone believes this to be as accurate as she would have you believe, I truly feel sorry for you.
In conclusion, as a final bit of "advice" she bleats, yet one more time," Call when you say your going to call".
Please , will the person/people who left this woman so damaged phone her and suggest she get over it! PLEASE!

This book is a must have for men and women. i recommend that if you are dating a guy you give him this book ASAP. oh my god my favorite part is
guys when you tell your budies you can play ball later do you mean later that day or in a few days, so why do you not call later when you say you are going to call.

I love this book. It reminds me of a "life's little instruction book" for dating. I recently bought it for all of my girlfriends and we all have our favorite lessons. Its really a book for guys and girls. Fellas, if you want to know the way to a womans heart....ASK ONE! Josefa finds an answer to every question...TRULY A GREAT BOOK! You should buy two because as soon as you read it you will think of someone else who needs it!

What a disappointing waste of money. My copy came today and it will go to the Goodwill tomorrow. I found nothing but drab, useless projects in this book. Not one single thing I would ever want to make.
