Book Description
Simmering with passion, betrayal, and a woman's contempt, Lee Hayes delivers a fiery sequel to Passion Marks in A Deeper Blue.
Intense from beginning, A Deeper Blue hypnotizes readers into a story of lust and love. Kevin Davis finds his tumultuous relationship with his lover Daryl Harris in serious jeopardy. Pulled in different directions, Daryl must choose between the lover he's dreamed about and a new temptation; both of whom have female lovers -- past and present -- who are angry about being betrayed.
Cerina Ford is a woman desperately and whole-heartedly in love with Temple Moore. They share a passionate physical relationship, yet Cerina really desires an emotional connection with Temple -- a connection he is not willing to give. Eventually Cerina discovers Temple has fallen in love with Daryl and her obsession plummets out of control.
Meanwhile, Kevin realizes that he can run, but there is nowhere to hide from a scorned lover. "Kevin finds himself a target of a forgotten lover, who tracks him down from thousands of miles away, and will stop at nothing to ensure total destruction of his life."
With gripping detail, A Deeper Blue intertwines love, hate, jealousy, infidelity, revenge, and ultimately, murder. Author Lee Hayes shows that th eline between love and hate is a thin one -- and that sins from the past can evolve into nightmares of the present.

Zane continues to lower the quality of books.......2007-09-16
I really was excited to get this book. Never been a big fan of Zane, but she is a good storyteller. Horrible with her grammar and literary skills, so when I saw she edited the book I became nervous.
My fears were well founded.
This should not have gotten past a high school teachers editing pen. Horrible technique, like almost entire pages of one person dialogue.
So many cliches, and the women characters were make believe and unrealistic.
Sentences like "..the music was jumpin', bodies were pumpin', and Temple was ready for some humpin'" made me want to scream. Phrases like "...his bodily movements..." were painful to read.
I struggled to read past the first two chapters, but forced myself to read the entire book.
The author has not gotten the basic idea of "show it, dont tell it"
There has got to be some good black gay writers out here.
This guy has talent and ability, unfortunately he is being tutored by Zane. Which means she only cares about the sex in the book.
A read that you can read over and over.......2007-09-13
I have just finished reading this book. This is my FIRST Book review for amazon, so this means alot. If you love drama, backstabbing, twist and turns, then definity give this a read. This book really didnt have any true Protangist, well except for Diana. I loved the way that Hayes explored the inter working of other characters in this novel. It helped us understand what kind of ratinal the characters think that have when dealing with ALOT of the devious situations the characters had to face. I love when villians meet their match, and I loved the interaction between the female characters. I liked how Hayes put to like minded women from different sides of the tracks and pitted them against each other in various situations in this novel. I couldnt guess who would come as as the victor, The Ghetto strip dancer, or the pompous excutive mogul.
Thats JUST ONE OF THE MANY sub story in this story of strong minded and devious individuals. EVERYONE Main character in this book had alot of self confidence, and is used to everything going their way, no matter how they go about acheiving their prize. This is one of those books I can see BET TRYING TO lanch a movie of. At the end, I didnt really feel bad about any of the character, even if they did come to terms with how they handled certain situations. The name of this should be Passion Marks: Karma is a Bitch LOL
PS: The other reviewers are right about how well this book catch up with ALL the main story plot from the first one, but of course after reading this one, if you havent, you will want to read the first one. And I thought "Anyway the Wind Blows" had some drama. Im doing something that I have not did in a long time, and that is to reread the book again, its just that great. I honestly, hope they DO NOT consider making this into a movie. Its just to much necessary storyline for a movie company to add to the film.
Very Genuine and Passionate.......2007-03-10
Another Five Stars for the author Lee Hayes. I just hope and pray he puts Darryl and Kevin back together again. How I have been searching high and low, up and down, for a relationship just like Darryl and kevin.
Wow.......2007-02-15
This was a great book. After I read the first book I had to read this on. Both books are very good. They had me wanting to read more. I am now ready for the next. :)
Perfect Read for a Book Club.......2006-08-08
A Deeper Blue is a great read for a book club or anyone who needs to take away from their own personal dramas and read about someone else's! The characters feel like you already know them or someone who acts just like them. Regardless of sexual orientation, BLUE offers a realistic depiction of what love, pain, betrayal, and heartache can ultimately cause. After reading Blue one has to face reality that for every action, there is a reaction.... and we have to be accountable for them. Passion Marks II: A Deeper Blue is a MUST READ! It's a smoker folks!! (almost made me wanna go out and buy some candles---read the book to find out why)!! lol
ps. RaChelle got what she deserved. Hopefully Lee will let us know what happens with Kevin and Daryl.. I dont think there story is over yet.

Just pick your passion!.......2005-08-25
I received this book from a friend about 15 years ago when I was having life changing issues. I was not the self-help type and was very skeptical. What I found was that you do not have to read this from cover to cover and you are cured. You get to pick what ails you and get sound advice with some humor attached. This is the one and only self help book that I recommend to friends that are hurting.
A Must Have for ALL WOMEN!.......2000-05-31
Like another reviewer I have the hard copy and have had it for many years. Just recently I reread it to see if I would get as much from it as I had many years prior. I am happy to report that the book is timeless. Every women should have a copy in her collection of books.
Sound advice that passes the test of time. Easy to read and thought provoking as well as comforting and inspiring.
like a friend to hold your hand!.......1999-05-06
I bought this book in the hardcover edition in 1988. It has been, by far, the best self-help book I've purchased! The book is written in short chapters, each addressing a particular problem. The advice is sound, rational, helpful and hopeful.
Survival Guide for Life.......1998-08-24
I send this book to every woman I know to help her face difficult times...and who hasn't? Jennier James writes clear and identifiable descriptions of the life crises that give us the blues, and then provides survival strategies to live through the crises.
Customer Reviews:
Bad!!!.......2006-01-17
Tristian Hawkins, Chuck Palahniuk and Dijan... Bad bad bad! There is nothing here. There is no character, no story. Just soft-core sexual appetite and swearing. Ah, you can find a few comic passage. Simple people, simple lifes. It does not worth to telling or reading. Walk on the streets, you should find many Betty Blues and bad authors!
Beautiful account of unconditional love.......2005-04-01
Betty isn't the kind of girl you meet every day of the week. Most girls don't set fire to apartments, attack people, or kidnap children. But Betty is different, and whatever she might do, her boyfriend loves her with all his heart. This is his account of how he tries to keep up with the woman that he loves and his desperate attempts to make her happy, all resulting in danger, violence and constant action. Betty Blue is a compelling first-person narrative, beautifully descriptive and emotive, a paean to romance, and a stark reminder of the pain that love can bring.
best.......2001-02-27

excellent or is it the best ever?.......1999-09-29

Book Description
Our handsome hero...an African American vampire...falls in love with a married human woman, Sheba Ferguson.
He pursues her against the backdrop of a war with rival monsters, the death worshipping Guhl, the quest to solve the mystery of a mythological being called "the Vampyre of the Light", and his own doubts about whether he wants to make Sheba his lover...or his victim.
Overall looms the menacing presence of Harry Halbert, Lord Baltimore, and a 300 year old Vampire whose loyalties and purpose are always in doubt.
"A Vampyre Blues" is cinematic, allegorical, silly seriousness in the vein of George Clinton. A clever, witty literary thriller of superb...taste.
High brow St. Louis novelist Chris Hayden's literary debut cleverly mixes horror, suspense and comedy with an old school style and rythm that's sure to thrill and entertain.
--Robert Wright, Senior Editor

Nasty book.......2006-03-18
I'm twelve and I bought this book at Goodwill for 10 cents plus tax. This book is very nasty. It depicts scenes I would not care to see if I was being PAID. It's just a sick book. Dont read it, kids.
Compared to L.A. Banks, this is JIVE.......2006-03-13
I like books about vampires but I didn't dig this one because while reading it I kept thinking, "I could have written it better" and I'm only 15!

Book Description
When Lily Spencer escapes her plodding lover by accepting a teaching job in Tokyo, she little suspects that the austere culture she envisions conceals beneath its kimono a voluptuous banquet of sensual pleasures - which her guide, Hiroshi, will soon spread before her. Consuming Passions is an elegant and witty peregrination through a menu of acquired tastes.

Typical for Blue Moon series..........2001-01-20
A lot of sex but very shallow story ... The editorial review talks of hedonism in Tokyo but this could really have taken place in Hialeah, Florida for all the time taken by the author to get into the oriental culture. I can get more of a taste for oriental eroticism by just eating sushi for goodness sakes ...

Customer Reviews:
"My Summer Find".......1998-07-15
I 'found' this book while browsing in the public library, waiting for my kids as they participated in the summer reading program. Living in NC, the subtitle, 'A Novel of Passion and Mystery in the Blue Ridge' caught my eye. This was a great book. Too bad it's not easy to find as you don't have to live in NC to appreciate and enjoy it. EVE'S MOUNTAIN is about a mountain owned by a wealthy businessman who has promised to keep the place as is, in memory of his wife who went missing there one summer many years before. Now the owner is there trying to recover from a stroke, bringing family members and others who all seem to be trying to escape from something. The mystery of Eve's Mountain eventually involves them all, for better or for worse. Once I got into who was who and what was what, this is one I couldn't put down.

Useful but Disappointing.......2007-07-14
This is a curious book about the fascinating WHR Rivers. The polymathic Rivers was a pioneering neuroscientist, psychologist, and anthropologist who made substantial contributions to all these fields in the peri-WWI period. Interest in Rivers increased in recent years because he appears as a major and particularly sympathetic character in Pat Barker's outstanding trilogy of novels on WWI. Slobodin's book, which is the only effort at a biography of Rivers, deals mainly with his work as a pioneering ethnologist. The structure of the book is odd. The book opens with a biographical sketch of Rivers' life, then proceeds to series of discussions of Rivers' anthropological work, and finishes with a selection of Rivers' writings on anthropology. Coverage of Rivers' work in Neurology, Neuroscience, and his work as a military psychiatrist during WWI is relatively cursory. Nor does Slobodin offer much in the way of historical context against which to judge Rivers' contributions. The last deficiency is particularly unfortunate as Rivers appears to have been situated within a particularly dense and diverse intellectual network. Rivers, for example, must be the only anthropologist to have worked with the great pioneering psychiatrist Emil Kraeplin.
Rivers was a somewhat ascetic and rather private man. He never married and there is little available documentation - letters, diaries, etc. - about this personal life. Slobodin appears to have decided that there was insufficient information about Rivers life to produce a substantial biography. Slobodin, himself an anthropologist, elected to concentrate on one aspect of Rivers career. This is probably a mistake. Rivers published a great deal of work in his chosen fields and he appears to have been one of those intellectuals who really lived for ideas. Based on the personal information available and Rivers extensive but varied writings, a real intellectual biography is certainly feasible and would make a very interesting book.

Customer Reviews:
Written to inspire novices and experienced cooks.......2007-04-10
I have two small children and have less and less time to cook. This is a great book for someone who wants to serve healthy food fast.
My dad was a terrific cook who did it all without recipes. He taught my mom how to cook but traditionally women in her family don't cook, so my dad did all the cooking. In keeping with family tradition my brother was required to learn how to cook and I was not.
So I learned to cook after I got married and taught myself using cookbooks so I have an extensive collection. I personally think cookbooks should help make preparing food easier and inspire not intimidate. That is why I love this book. It is designed to make good food simple and easy and tasty.
I would recommend this to the experienced cook looking to save time, the novice cook who wants good food with minimal effort or someone who wants fresh ideas from a cookbook written to inspire instead of intimidate.
Becoming one I use often.......2006-03-22
This book is filled with homey (but not frumpy) recipes for soup, salad, sides, main dishes and a few desserts. As a registered nurse working full time, I really respect this book for not wasting my valuable free time with so-so dishes involving lots of steps. All the recipes I've tried have been more than satisfactory, while using common supermarket ingredients and simple techniques. Highly recommended.
One of my favorite cookbooks.......2005-01-29
Unlike most of the "quick" and "simple" cookbooks I've tried, this one has recipes that are truly quick and easy, AND actually taste good. This is the perfect book for someone who is new to cooking (a great college graduation or housewarming gift!), because the recipes are not at all intimidating and can all be completed within a half hour. And the best thing about this book, in my opinion, is that Revsin's recipes all have very short ingredient lists. I love to cook good food, but am generally on a tight budget, and I can't afford the long lists of pricey ingredients that you find in most cookbook recipes.
Familiar ingredients + simple techniques = fresh results!.......2004-10-25
After having cooked for more than 30 years, my view of cookbooks is sometimes jaded. Many books still on my shelves have only a recipe or two that I have come to rely on; others turned out to be attractive and entirely impractical. This book drew me in because of the late author's reputation for developing skillful combinations of ingredients. Still, my expectations were tempered by experiences with other so-called "easy" or "quick" cookbooks.
What a tremendous surprise. My excitement grew as I turned each page. The ingredients are not hard to find, the methods are truly easy (beginners welcome here, I would think), and mostly the results are on the table in under thirty minutes.
Although there are a few delightfully appetizing color photographs, these are not recipes that play better for a food stylist than for the family. This is food people will want to eat: smothered mini-meat loaves (made on the stove top!); Waldorf chicken legs (think drum sticks); halibut with creamy dill butter. Recipes for vegetables, side dishes, salads, and even desserts are cook and family-friendly complements to the variety of main dishes (including some vegetarian) presented. Annotations of simple tips, serving suggestions, and variations show how to pull things together.
I like the fact that this author was not afraid to name names. Watch for the helpful brand name suggestions and for comments about the quality of various ingredients available: for example, on the condition of most fresh apricots brought to market in the USA. As an empty nester, I also appreciate the fact that these recipes prepare four servings, for the most part. A cupcake recipe makes five large or six ordinary-size chocolate cup cakes, neatly avoiding too-tempting (or too dried out) leftovers.
If you have ever been intimidated by lengthy lists of ingredients and complicated instructions, this cookbook might be for you. You will look over the recipe and think to yourself, "I could do that." If you simply want to broaden your repertoire of "too tired to think, much less cook" options, you will find plenty of rewarding ideas. There are half a dozen people -- cooks and non-cooks, alike -- who will be receiving a copy of this book from me. It is that easy; it is that good.
