Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Book!.......2005-05-01

Just so you'd know, this book is not denouncing Togo. It is merely telling Balto's side of the story. And it is a courageous one taht deserves to be well-known. There.

One day, a serious diptheria epidemic breaks out in Nome. Sled dogs are selected to deliver serum to the town before time runs out. Will they succeed?

This compelling book tells the story of Balto's brave and graet contribution to this race (he never tried to claim all the credit!), and I would recommend it even to Leonhard Seppala, so he would stop despising Balto, but sadly, he is now dead.

5 out of 5 stars Great book for introducing the Iditarod to children.......2005-04-01

If you love the Iditarod and you want your children (or children you're fond of) to be introduced to this great race, the story of Balto and the Great Race by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel is a good place to start, beginning with the cover illustration by Nora Köerber. This book is a Stepping Stones chapter book with black and white illustrations throughout.

At the beginning of the book is a map of Alaska showing the Iditarod railroad and dogsled trail, along with some illustrations depicting the basic story of this great race against time to get much-needed diphtheria serum to Nome in 1925.

Balto is a Siberian husky born to run, and to lead. He guided his musher, Gunnar Kaasen, into Nome on the final leg of the journey, when only this magnificent dog could sense the way through a terrible, deadly blizzard with no trail to follow and wind at such strength it tossed Kaasen and dogsled into the air, almost losing their precious cargo. A short time before this near disaster, Balto saved the team from going through the ice to certain death. His instincts were in the realm of the supernatural and his devotion to the task at hand human in awareness.

It states on the back cover that this book is for children in grades 1-3. As the Cleveland Museum of Natural History states on the same back cover, "Balto's story is one of courage, cooperation and inspiration, and personal sacrifice for the greater good."

5 out of 5 stars Balto: not just for kids.......2002-01-27

We purchased this book after seeing the real Balto (courtesy of the art of taxidermy) at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Our quest in Northeast Ohio, where Balto enjoyed his senior years, was prompted by my seven year-old daughter's love-affair with the animated film about this dog, who navigated a lost sled team carrying life-saving medicine through Alaska in 1925. I hereby confess publicly that, after myself reading the book, which is aimed at the 9 year-old set, I cried, much as I had done 35 years before after reading "Lassie Come Home." This account, however, is much more compelling than "Lassie" or "Old Yeller," because it entirely factual (possibly excepting the subjective thoughts imputed to the protagonist).

The author did her homework researching this story about a sled dog who was just one of the pack facing poor odds against daunting weather and unrequiting expanses of blinding snow and ice. When the alpha dog loses the trail, and another refuses to lead, the team turns to Balto to bring them and their cargo safely to rest in Nome.

Perhaps Balto deserves an authentic, grown-up biography, but this one will serve in the meantime. It appears to be the definitive account.

5 out of 5 stars A teacher in PA.......2000-05-03

This is an excellent book if you are interested in the Iditarod race in Alaska. The book helps young children understand the importance of perserverence and is a great introduction to history for the very young (6-8).A true story that inspires people to understand the bond between animals and people.

5 out of 5 stars Native American Summer School Review.......2000-08-10

We are a Title IX summer school class of soon-to-be third graders. Many of us are Potawatomi. We enjoyed reading about our ancestors although we do realize that this book is historical fiction. This is what each student had to say about Night of the Full Moon:

Reese-Fawn and Libby were friends. It's ok to be friends with white people.

Peter-I like it when Libby's father wanted to give Sanatuwa land so he could stay with them. It showed that he was generous and thankful to him for saving his daughter.

Jack-It was exciting and scary when the soldiers captured Libby with Fawn's family.

Darlene-It was a great story. I learned that the Potawatomi had to travel a long ways when they were forced from their homes. One soldier said 'Indians should be free just like he was' and he let them go.

Michelle-It was an exciting story to read. I felt sad that the Potawatomi were forced off their land.

Gabrielle-It was exciting when the girl was getting dragged from that soldier. I didn't like the soldiers and felt angry at them.

Frankie-I learned that the Potawatomi got kicked off the land. The white men brought smallpox disease and whiskey to the Indians and tricked them into signing treaties and giving away their land for a little money.

Danielle-I liked learning about what happened to the Potawatomi Indians.

Mandi-I liked the part where Sanatuwa brought Libby back to her parents.

Joseph-I just liked the book because I love reading books.

"Reflecting incidents true to children (making a bet with a friend, sending a message in a bottle, attempting to be brave), these stories are the sort that will make children ask for more."--School Library Journal, starred review

5 out of 5 stars From the author, March 4, 2,000.......2000-03-05

An excerpt from this book, about African-American characters, was used January 31, 2,000 in a state-wide Illinois third-grade reading standards test. 70,000 Illinois children got this test excerpt, in which the testers reillustrated the story without permission and changed the characters to Causcasians. I wrote the book with great care, and with the hope that many children will identify with my characters who are courageous and successful and well-liked. Over 200,000 copies of the book have been sold. I know from my fan mail that many children of all races do identify with the characters. It must have been painful for many of them to see their heroes turned white on a test--and for others who know the book, it must have been distracting at the least. One of the testers' three new illustrations shows the brothers in the story playing baseball. Eight books about the characters have been published to date (there will be a new one next year)--and in none of them do the characters play baseball. The testers developed their test questions based on a 3-page excerpt from the book; they had never even seen a copy of the entire book (thus the error in race), much less read it. It's quite possible that a child who had read the book would give different answers to the test questions based on his knowledge, and that the testers, in their ignorance, would mark it wrong. In many states, statewide tests are very serious these days--children are stigmatized for low scores, and teachers lose their jobs. But it appears that the tests are hastily and thoughtlessly constructed and penalize good readers. Parents and all of us concerned with education need to know what kind of tests children are being subjected to. --anncameron@guate.net

I think it's a great book. So I want other people to read it. Because Julian tells lots of stories and it's lots of fun reading it.

4 out of 5 stars One of Ron Roy's Best Books.......2007-09-02

This was an interesting book that I liked a lot. There are two main characters who are kids: KC, the President's step-daughter, and Marshall, who lives in an apartment building near the Supreme Court. Someone robbed the Treasury, and they try to figure out who did it. They get a tour of the Treasury and a lot of help from a clone of the President. Kids who like the A-Z Mysteries will like this book. (As told by John, age 7.)

Book Description

The sixth tale in our Legend series, The Legend of the Petoskey Stone focuses on the naming of this unique fossil, found only on the shores of Lake Michigan. From the ancient, warm sea that covered most of the state, through Native American history and the history of the town named after a great chief, The Legend of the Petoskey Stone is a welcome addition to the fables so richly told and illustrated by this much-loved and honored children's book team.

5 out of 5 stars Great Read.......2007-09-12

I am originally from Petoskey and my mother bought this book for my daughter (along with some Petoskey Stones) for her to learn a little about the history of the area and state stone. This is a great book for anyone, especially any Michigander! The illustrations are beautiful!

5 out of 5 stars Sun-Burst Rocks Tell a Story.......2005-02-05

In northern Michigan a town AND a rock are named for the Ottawa Indian chief, Petosegay. He was born in the late 1800s to a native princess & a French fur trader. His parents nurtured him in the wilderness & saw him thrive into manhood. Kathy-jo Wargin's story is one children will love to hear, and later read aloud because the descriptions of harmonious living in the wild, natural surroundings are so appealing. Her series of books about area folklore is a gift to readers everywhere.

"Nick" van Frankenbuyzen's paintings are strong and depict beautifully the life of the one named for "the rays of the rising sun." The stones around which the legend grew are truly unique and were formed from petrified coral millions of years ago . We are fortunate to have an author celebrating these legends - - a different kind of fantasy for children today. She also offers a bonus by adding a page of instructions for polishing the rocks you are lucky enough to find!

Reviewer mcHAIKU suggests that parents hunt for vacation destinations that allow their kids glimpses of history & their forebearers' courage, especially if they can hold in their hands lovely patterned Petoskey stones.

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST OF THE 'LEGEND OF' BOOKS SO FAR.......2004-08-07

I just picked up my shiny new plastic-covered copy of The Legend of the Petoskey Stone from the library today (sorry Sleeping Bear Press & Amazon--no $$$ right now). I have to say that this is the first truly great entry in the "Legend of" Series. It is also my favorite of the stories.

Story is big here. Petoseygay's story is told with haunting beauty and a lyrical simplicity. And, unlike the Legend of Sleeping Bear (my previous favorite in the series), it will not cause clinical depression.

I also feel that Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen ($10 to the first person who can say this man's name five times fast) has done his best work of the series in this book. He not only sets up a distinct visual world for the story, he makes each illustration wonderful and unique. My favorite is the picture of "where bears walked beside the flowing waters."

My son exclaimed "I see the bear."

The Legend of the Petoskey Stone is the strongest entry yet in a very strong series. The great storytelling, beautiful images, and uplifting message are well worth the time spent reading. This reviewer hopes that Mrs. Wargin has many more "Legends of" left in her.

I give The Legend of the Petoskey Stone my highest recommendation.

      Book Description

A stingy fisherman always makes his three young helpers do all his work. One day he scolds the “lazy boys” for forgetting to provide lunch. “DonÂ't worry,” they say. “We can make stone soup.” The boys dig a hole and fill it with water and “flavored” stones. They trick the fisherman into making bowls and chopsticks, and fetching salt and sesame oil. While heÂ's busy, they stir in bird eggs, add wild vegetables, and slip fish into the soup. By the time the old man returns, they have a feast fit for a king. To this day, “Egg Drop Stone Soup” is a traditional dish in southeast China. A recipe is included.

      5 out of 5 stars Julian's Glorious Summer.......2006-06-02

Julian's Glorious Summer was written by Ann Cameron. The characters are Julian, Gloria, and Huey. The story takes place at Julian's house. Julian lied that he had to work all summer and he lied about he liked to ride bikes. It was an excellent book! You should read it!

5 out of 5 stars Miss McCabe's Class Loves Julian!.......2003-09-24

Our class read Julian's Glorious Summe by Ann Cameron. We feel that the book was fabulous! Julian tells many lies in this book to hide the secret that he's scared of bikes. Ms. Cameron wrote the sentences in a fun and interesting way. At the end, Julian got a surprise and he was successful. Julian learned an important lesson. Overall, we think you should read this book too.

I never thought that boys are afraid of bicycles but it seems that we have one here. And that is Julian!! Bicycles scare him more than tigers and lions! Oh,my gosh! This book is about a boy named Julian. He detests bicycles more than anything. His friend,Gloria owns a bicycle and wants to teach him how to ride.He refuses and makes up a fib.But the fib gets him into more trouble than telling the truth.Like the proverb,"Honesty is the best policy".If you want to find out what happened, read this book.Fibbers will always be fibbers but I hope Julian wouldn't be one after he tells this fib.
