Book Description
Our health as a nation is declining. In addition, it is becoming increasingly clear that allopathic medicine has come to a plateau in its efforts to stem the tide of degenerative disease. As a result, mind-body medicine is a very big topic for the 90s. You the Healer offers a guide that can help you and your loved ones to live a healthy, disease-free life.
Based on the most successful mind development program in the world today, You the Healer offers a complete course in Silva Method healing techniques in a do-it-yourself, forty-day format. By reading one chapter a day and doing the indicated exercises, you can be firmly on the path to wellness in just six weeks. In You the Healer Jose Silva and Robert B. Stone offer a proven method of attuning to the special mind frequency called alpha. In this alpha frequency, a healing state is activated. These lower-frequency alpha brain waves can be used to achieve maximum well-being; they can be applied to healing yourself as you work with your health-care professional; and they can be used to help you heal others. Included are inspirational stories of people who have successfully used this method to regain their health after illness or injury.

Spiritual Kitsch.......2007-08-17
Go ahead and buy it if you must. Everyone should read a Silva book once in their lives. Do you pick up the supermarket tabloids now and then to laugh at their audaciousness and wonder exactly what sort of people actually take them seriously? If so, I know you'll enjoy this book.

Mind & Energy Control.......2006-10-19
I am only maybe 1/5 of the way into this book, but can tell you already that I highly recommend it. As a Reiki practitioner, I understand the concepts of energy and hands-on-healing, so I was receptive to the book before I received it. I have also been interested in and a believer in using the mind constructively throughout my entire life. I am also heavily into positive affirmations and visualization, and have taught some of these techniques to others in classes. This is a great book which teaches you how you can actively participate in pursuing far better health than you have probably ever dreamed of. Most people do not seem to really understand how really effective we can be at creating or preventing our health problems. Isn't it worth approximately ten bucks to find out how you can be healthier and happier for the rest of your life? Read it, practice it, and BELIEVE. I no longer have colds/flu, even when exposed to people with them. I have eliminated several medical conditions. Is it because of exercise and weight loss alone? Some may tell you that. The power within your mind, and self talk is astounding! Many now realize that. Neuro-linguistic programming (positive self-talk)is a mega $$$ business for a reason. Know also that negative self-talk can also have a profound effect on you, one that you do NOT want, so be careful what you "say" to yourself and about yourself, even in jest. Take this seriously.
Read this book and also check out books/CDs by Wayne Dyer. Check out the Silva DVDs/Cassettes recorded by Silva's daughter to meditate with. The down side of the book is that you cannot read meditations and do them at the same time, but what you could do with this book is to get yourself an inexpensive voice recorder and read the meditations onto the recorder. Then you could practice the meditations easier. If you do not have a soft voice, find a friend to record them for you.
Update, August 2007: Just returned from a Silva class in Pittsburg. It was wonderful! Did lots of meditations, like those in the book. Lots of visualizations, and lots of psychic/intuitive practice. You can find Silva classes online.
By the way, an important note is that with Silva techniques, there is an expectation that they be used for the betterment of all. If your intent is other than that, they probably will NOT work for you. I hate to mention that, but sometimes people want to use psychic powers to rip other people off or for self-centered reasons. There was someone in class who, it appeared, wanted to use Silva techniques to become a millionaire. It don't exactly work that way, Hon. (The person seemed to have difficulty doing the exercises, too.)
We're all in this together, folks. The correct concept is peace and love. That is the ONLY way to move forward, in my opinion of course.
Fantastic - Unbelieveable - Truly a Miracle.......2001-08-19
This book is a must-have for the betterment of humanity. Not only does it explain how you can heal yourself, but how you can heal and help others at a distance through the proper use of mental imaging. It leads you step by step through an inspiring 40 day workout where it explains not only HOW you can accomplish these miracles, but more importantly, WHY it works, and it makes sense! You can begin using these techniques immediately and see impressive results. It allows you to discover your "true purpose in life" - to help your fellow man. Along with attempting to help others, anonymously, who are in need, I send this book to them anonymously, then sit back and watch the results. This is the most positive, uplifting book ever written. The author is a true inspirational genius. Could you imagine what a wonderful paradise we would all live in if everybody practiced these techniques.

gradeschool .......2007-08-17
Mark Joyner and his colleagues would never stand a chance at working for a premier marketing agency. I mean premier as in Fifth Avenue or those that handle the accounts of fortune 100 companies. Any executive at a top tier corporation would loose his job for accepting this `gurus' advice.
Now why does his book have so many positive reviews? Why is Mark Joyner a millionaire?(?) Respectively Mark Joyner knows something about marketing and the psychology of influence. But then isn't this true with any charlatan? Some people see glamour working on the fringes of society as hustlers. I find respect and dignity to be a much stronger capital than a hustled buck. So yes, using advice from this book will make you `possibly' give you influence but following these characters will cost you `power' in the end.
So what do I mean by `these' guy's? I've identified about a dozen `gurus' that preach the secrets of brainwashing or hypnotic marketing that rely on each other. You can find their reviews on this book somewhere in here, and they'll mention their own book. I have accidentally purchased a couple of these books.
This book along with those written by the other guru's have one thing in common. They regurgitate information from a respectable source. In this case the regurgitation
Is fourth class and perverse. I believe seventy five percent of it comes from a single source and the other twenty five percent is therefore completely meaningless. I say this because (Mr.) Joyner relies on the principals of a single scholar in the field of social psychology specifically exploring the principals of persuasion. There are so many more principals and cutting edge studies out there that Mr. Joyner's singular `academic' resource demonstrates how questionable of a expert he is.
Now to his credit he has applied these principals to his own success and shares them. What is effectively going on is the Internets version of a super hyped INFOMERCIAL. If you're a respectable business owner and you take the advice of Mr. Joyner and his inner circle you'll loose the respect of your clients eventually and then your personal dignity. If you do as Mr. Joyner has done, you may read the influence theories in a textbook on social psychology and simplify it, perverse it, then regurgitate it into a poor and incomplete marketing strategy and sell it at three hundred times it's worth in hype. You'll indorse Mark Joyner, he'll endorse you in return. You'll apply what you learn and get some poor needy people to (commit) to your insights, effectively forming a psuado business cult. As much as a genius you think you may be your not going to crack Wall Street and forget pulling the strings at capital hill because you'll have no power `hustler'.
I buy a lot of Marketing, business, and `academic' books on influence. It is inevitable that I buy a bad apple here and there. Mark Joyner has reduced himself beyond any `Gentleman' to sell you on his AUTHORITY as a former officer of this country.

It is a well-known fact that Mark Joyner started in a corner of his living-room with $400 and a few years later sold the company he founded, Aesop, for $7,000,000; the guy is a true genius; I had the exceptional priviledge to talk with Mark for a few minutes at the "Marketing Event of the New Millenium" in Las Vegas, simply i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e

Book Description
Warning: Using this book could be hazardous to your ego! The slogans it contains are designed to awaken the heart and cultivate love and kindness toward others. They are revolutionary in that practicing them fosters abandonment of personal territory in relating to others and in understanding the world as it is. The fifty-nine provocative slogans presented here—each with a commentary by the Tibetan meditation master Chögyam Trungpa—have been used by Tibetan Buddhists for eight centuries, to help meditation students remember and focus on important principles and practices of mind training. They emphasize meeting the ordinary situations of life with intelligence and compassion under all circumstances.
Customer Reviews:
These teachings provide immeasureable strength........2007-07-29
I've worked with this book every day for the last 12 years. I used to keep a copy in my desk at work, as well as passed along copies to other spiritual friends. This book will teach you much about how the world relates to you. It has the potential to erase a lot of negative thinking. It could turn you into a people-pleaser! Therefore, it must be used with meditation, and ideally the assistance of a spiritual master. These teachings have the potential to challenge every bit of strength you have. I think Americans have a tough time with Buddhism, as we are acculturated to conduct ourselves in public with self-worth. Whereas the Heart Slogans, adapted from Atisha, who was a student of Buddha, will rub you raw. So I think these teachings shift our awareness from self-esteem towards being more genuine. These practices can conflict with your personal boundaries. If you're a student of psychology, you would want to think about how the Slogans work for establishing respect with colleagues, family, etc. If you want a healthier, simpler, more honest life, this book will take you there. It will show you how you relate to the three poisons, jealousy, attachment and ignorance. This can be detrimental. It's good to have a support-system of like-minded Buddhist friends and teachers.
important techniques and lessons for all.......2002-03-05
What do salty sailors, communists, ad execs, and Tibetan Buddhists have in common? The Power of Slogans! From `Have a Coke and a Smile' to "Be all that you can Be", the brain loves a good saying. This book is Trungpa's translation of the 59 slogans used to instruct Tibetan Buddhists, with his commentary on each. Trungpa is unassailable as an instructor: the 11th generation of a line of chosen Tibetan Trungpas, he went to oxford on a scholarship and then moved to the US in the 1970's where he founded what remain as among the foremost Buddhist/meditative institutions in the country. I tend to believe Buddhism gained a little more than it lost en route to japan, so I prefer the zen stuff, but this book has a lot to offer anyone. Some nitpicking: For a guy who dedicated his life to bringing jargonless Buddhism to the west, the book is a little full of `mystical-sounding foreign words' though thankfully the glossary is very fine. And plenty of important Buddha concepts don't shine through (cause and effect, and the big mirror concepts don't get too much play here) so just make sure this isn't the only book you read on the topic. And some of the slogans are simply not too memorable and consequently lose their force; `always be grateful' is dandy, though `the mahayana instruction for ejection of consciousness at death is the five strengths' seems like an important one that alas probably won't be dancing off too many tongues at the critical moment. Still this is a fine book, a great book for beginners or advanced alike, coming from any tradition whatsoever. & the small format fits well, making it a great book for commutes or travels. Enjoy! (& remember: just because I didn't like the book as much as you doesn't mean you should vindictively vote against my review!)
Small book, big message........2000-05-22
It is always amazing to me that more people don't know the wonderful work that Trungpa did in bringing Buddhism to the West. He was a proponent of loving kindness who skillfully assisted thousands in understanding both the basic precepts of Buddhism, and specific traditions of Tibetan Buddhism as they are now practiced in both East and West.
This small format book is a wealth of information -- more than the mere "slogans" which lead each section. It is a careful revelation of principals and practices one usese to train the mind, emphasizing how one can use compassion and intelligence in dealing with everyday situations. A real gem of a book to read and read again.
A CLEAR AND CRISP READING.......1999-06-11
Bringing Buddhist teachings to a western mind is no easy task. I find that the material in this book clearly allows one to understand Dharma in a crisp and refreshing light. The ability to apply this to the western life is well stated.
Excellent.......1998-09-26
Have you ever had trouble bringing the Buddhist path into everyday usage? Well this book provides one with the ability to do so. I highly recommend it.

Mind control, World absolute control.......2007-01-06
This book is one of the best I had read on the subject.
It covers a wide range of topics, easy to follow and
timely presented. From that book, one can pursue
more specifics explanations with more specialized books
like "Angels don't play that HAARP" and so on.
Uncle Sam's Asylum.......2004-12-31
I read this in 1999 and found it to be an accurate primer for those who have long suspected that things in America aren't quite 'right'. Having undergone 30+ years of non-consensual experimentation, harassment, stalking and other crimes here in the US, I can recommend this book to others who may just be coming to the realization that they, too, are under attack.
For a more up-to-date view of the new America, consider looking at the material at www.raven1.net, www.mindjustice.org or http://aches-mc.org.
It's later than you think, so start thinking now. This book can be a good place to start.
I Believe This.......2004-09-23
although I hate to admit it because it is not a popular belief to hold. I remember listening to the Candy Jones radio show in which she was very cautious to mention that this happened to her, partially because of damage to her reputation as a radio talk show host and partially out of fear of the governmental types who did this to her without her knowledge or consent.
I am so glad that this author has the courage to bring this subject to the forefront during a time in which our world is being held hostage by the dictatorship of big business.
Have your aluminum foil ready!!!.......1999-03-12
Mr. Keith does an excellent job of demonstrating how the technology to simulate and/or control one's mind exists, and has been in use for years. Great chapter on supposed alien abductions.
Good chronology of events; lacks depth & personal knowledge.......1998-03-04
Having read my fair share of mind control books and resources, I found Keith's book to place events in an easy-to-understand chronology. He also tells it like it is as far as the New World Order plans for mind control. Unfortunately, he didn't take the time to research some aspects of documented mind control knowledge.
I was disappointed to see that Keith based his opinions of an "alleged" Project Monarch on two sources. He also cited no documented evidence of such project. It is well documented that the CIA destroyed many MK-Ultra documents in the 70s and that the U.S. Army destroyed many of its records. Project Monarch was a covert operation and performed primarily on children (who are now primarily ages 30 to 50). There is no proof. Only victims. Perhaps Keith could have taken the time to visit the ACHES-MC website and found victims and further resources for this type of government abuse to provide a more accurate chapter.
As Mel Gibson states in "Conspiracy Theory" when asked by Julia Roberts if he has any proof to his claims of mind control, "If I had proof, it wouldn't be a conspiracy."

Worms, protozoa, and other terrifying parasites, capable even of mind control. Author calls them the real drivers of evolution.
Customer Reviews:
There ain't no bugs on me, but I don't know about thee........2007-05-29
"Whence, thinkest thou, kings and parasites arose?" (Percy Bysshe Shelley, "Queen Mab").
"Parasite Rex" is an interesting look at the evolution and biology of parasites--but only for the strong of stomach.
In a sense it was comforting to read that we are not the most savage, efficient predators on Earth. Witness the parasite Sacculina that turns crabs into zombies--the slug-like female enters the crab through a convenient leg joint and gradually fills its whole body cavity, even wrapping roots around its host's eyestalks. The crab continues its shadow-crab life, sidling through the surf, eating mussels and clams. However, it stops moulting and growing as these activities would funnel energy away from Sacculina. If the parasite becomes pregnant, it doesn't matter whether the crab started out as male or female--it will brood and hatch the next generation of Sacculina as if the tiny larvae were its own children.
Sacculina's life-style is rather hard on the crab, but it is only one of the amazingly efficient (and bizarre) parasites described in this book. Other parasites have adopted Sacculina's method of eliminating their host's unnecessary functions such as reproduction (unnecessary to the parasite, that is) while leaving the host enough brain, nervous system, and digestive tract to go on feeding.
I imagine if there were a Sacculina-type parasite for humans, we would soon lose our urge to play football or go swimming. We would lie in front of the TV all day long, stuffing ourselves with---wait a minute, here! Is it possible...?
Zimmer also describes the stratagems that potential hosts have evolved to eliminate, or at least confuse the parasites that view them as mobile homes with well-stocked refrigerators:
"Consider the leaf-rolling caterpillars. They're pretty ordinary insect larvae with one exception: they fire their droppings like howitzers...What on Earth could have driven the evolution of an anal cannon? Parasites could. When parasitic wasps home in on a larva such as the leaf-roller caterpillar, one of the best clues is the odor of their host's droppings...The intense pressure put on leaf-roller caterpillars by [parasitic] wasps has pushed the evolution of high-pressure fecal firing. By getting their droppings away from them, the caterpillars have a better chance of not being found by wasps."
Even plants have evolved defenses against parasites, usually by creating poisonous chemicals that the parasite ingests as it chomps on the plant. Some plants will even emit a scent that attracts predator wasps to the caterpillar that is munching on their leaves (so much for high-pressure fecal cannons).
Be sure to read Chapters seven and eight: "The Two-Legged Host; and "How to Live in a Parasitic World," and ponder the statement, "A parasite that has no self-regulation is going to put itself out of existence and may take its host with it."
Could we humans be considered parasitic to Earth, itself?
"Parasite Rex" has detailed footnotes, a "Further Reading and Selected Bibliography" section, and an index for those readers who would like to pursue this fascinating subject. Carl Zimmer has also written, "At Water's Edge" and is a frequent contributor to "Discover," "National Geographic," "Natural History," "Nature," and "Science."
