The Lowdown on GOING DOWN.......2007-10-11
Excellent read, once you get to the techniques. I also liked some of the psyche info. Helps a man understand the woman mind a little better, so we don't get so confused, lol. Anyway, the techniques take a little practice, and the tongue exercises are crucial. Your woman will worship you once you've got "things" perfected!!
Great Advice!.......2007-08-18
I also highly recommend - The Master's Guide to Cunnilingus: How to Perform Successful Oral Sex and Provide the Highest Degree of Pleasure Possible
After reading both books I can proudly say that I've become a better lover!
Useful.......2007-08-02
The book covers similar ground as 'She Comes First', which I also recommend. Michaels writes her book informally and conversationally.
The author's background as speech pathologist gives her a great deal of credibility - particularly when discussing the tongue. That's the strongest point. It's also a quick read. The weak point is that the book is good enough that it does not need the occasional sarcastic quips to support it. Sometimes it seemed that the authors were embarassed by the subject matter and felt the need to lighten it up. Understandable, but sometimes it smacked of too much effort. Drop some sarcasm and the book could be even better than it is. Even as is, it's still 4 stars. Let's see if it merits 5 big Os.
Very good.......2007-06-27
I felt pretty good about my knowledge of this area but I did learn some things I either didn't know or had forgotten we can all use a refresher. Worth the time and the cost would recommended to anyone wanting to increase the pleasure for both paties.
ok for linguists.......2007-05-13
I found this book verging on the ridiculus in as much as the excercises that one is expected to do with the lips, tongue and jaw are similar to an oral marathon.

sounded good.......2007-07-28
It just wasn't. the book is for single people who like to party and sleep around... I'm not any of these things. It sounded like a mature book but turned out to be a bunch of stuff I already know about life.
When Am I Going to be happy?.......2006-01-31
Very helpful book. Think everyone should take a look that needs direction in ur life.
Easy to read, to the point.......2005-09-10
This book is very easy to read and gets right to the point. The author is very insightful and really helps you to recognize your emotional bad habits and gives practical, almost simple (in a good way), suggestions to overcome them. It's easy to flip back to the reviews at the end of the sections for the main points to remember. I ordered a 2nd book for a close friend who is now reading it.
Amazing little book.......2004-06-20
This is without doubt one of the best self help books I've ever read, I have been reading self help books for three years now trying to break free from the oughts and shoulds of life.
Its helping me find the authentic me and giving me a spine of self confidence to live life as I believe I'm meant to.
I thoroughly reccommend this book.
Buy This Book!.......2003-09-28

The book relates to so many areas of my life. Almost every chapter has dealt with something close to my heart. I plan to read it over and over again so that I can fully absorb Russianoff's lessons and incorporate them into my life.
This is the greatest self-help book I've read!

Wonderful Pre-Marriage Workbook.......2007-05-31
For the last four years I've used the Getting Ready for Marriage Workbook for pre-engagement and pre-marriage pastoral counseling and have been totally pleased. Virtually every important area which a couple will encounter during their marriage is covered. When used faithfully, the book will bring out potential areas of conflict and help clarify expectations concerning what married life with their partner will be like. The material is presented from a Christian perspective. While this may be a turn-off, as one reviewer commented, it is important that faith issues in general be a component of every pre-marriage discussion, as faith or lack of faith truly enters into a person's worldview and the manner in which family decisions are made. E.g., should I believe you will be faithful to me in our marriage relationship because I trust you and your word as an individual or because I believe you will be faithful to me because I believe your committment to God? In my view, even non-Christians will profit greatly from the materials covered in this book and need not take offense when matters of faith are addressed. My favorite feature of the workbook is the inclusion of covenants which the couple agree to (or determine to leave unagreed upon, at their peril in my opinion). E.g., the "Conflict Resolution Covenant," wherein the couple agrees to certain expectations, responsibilities, and ways of handling differences so as to minimize misunderstandings and deal with the inevitable conflicts constructively. My experience is that the covenants are very useful reminders and tools for promoting harmonius relations well after the marriage vows are taken. In my pastoral counseling I have found that the Getting Ready for Marriage Workbook can be covered thoroughly in five or six sessions with the couple completing a two-chapter assignment prior to each session. The sessions themselves become very productive as the couple will have already addressed the material covered and will arrive with issues that need additional attention, discussion, and insight. A separate workbook for each person is recommended but it is possible for the couple to share a book.
this book is not for everyone.......2006-06-14
This book asks some good questions. There are important points that each couple should be talking about, however, the scoring for the test is very confusing. Also, my boyfriends parents are both deceased. Many of the questions are about your parents and family. The questions do not take into account the different circumstances in many people's lives. The questions are geared toward a young couple in an ideal situation. What about adoption or foster care families? We ended up being very frustrated after doing 2 chapters of the book. We decided to read the questions to each other and not score it. This way we use it to get to know each other.
Use to spur important conversations.......2006-06-10
This book is a nice start for Christian couples (not recommended for people looking for a general, nonreligious/spiritual view) in that it raises important issues and encourages you to keep the discussion open afterward. The book is organized into topics such as Finance, Family Planning etc...and your future spouse answers the questions separately from you, guessing how you might answer, as well as answering for him/herself. Then the book asks you to grade how many questions you answered wrong/right, and sign a covenent on each subject based on things discussed. As thorough as this might be, there are some issues to keep in mind while reading this: 1) The language assumes certain roles and biases, which you may or may not agree with whether or not you are a Christian. E.g. "My father usually left a good tip for the waitress/waiter in restaurants," or irrelevant questions such as questions assuming your parents are still together or their relationship was consistent throughout their marriage. Some of the questions don't seem to have been updated for several decades. 2) You have to answer true or false, though many of the statements are not that easily answered. My fiancee and I ended up disregarding the scoring process, and discussing statements we thought were partly true or partly false rather than simplifying things to a T or F. The point is not to get a certain score after all, the point is to grow and learn about each other. 3) The chapter on finances is somewhat unspecific, so my fiancee and I are going to read a guide to finance next. There are other topics that are broad as well, but this book is designed that way. It's up to you to follow through to the next steps. If you think finishing this book prepares you for marriage, you possibly are walking into marriage short-sighted. It is a good vehicle, however, for starting the conversation that you and your future spouse will continue to have for the rest of your lives. Good luck!
Great Book.......2006-03-27
This is a wonderful tool to help you really get to know the perosn you are about to marry. It is full of practical disscussion questions that help you get to know your mate's views on virtually everyhting from who does the finances to background information baout each of your families. Great book I highly reccommend it to anyone considering marriage.
Fantastic.......2006-01-24
This is a fantastic book that I use in my counseling practice. It is amazing the number of couples who do not really know each other before they get married, although they think they really do.
I also use Michael Webb's 1000 Questions for Couples as it is more thorough in the questions it actually covers.

The Fine Art of Small Talk.......2007-05-14
this is a great training and useful to all who are either fearful of speaking to other people in general or as debra described herself for people who just do not know how to move conversations along.
Not much there.......2007-04-18
A slim book with a lot of white space. Wish I had read the book over a cappuccino at a local bookstore rather than actually buying it.
This tape really helped.......2007-01-31
I'm sorry to see so many bad reviews, so I'm taking my first step into cyberspace reviews. I can't speak for the book, but the tape made a real difference in my life. I was painfully shy as a child and teenager and had no clue how to interact with groups until I started teaching myself by observing others at college. I'd gotten better by my mid-20s, but I still dreaded parties where I knew no one or other social gatherings. My attitude was, "I hate small talk, give me something 'real' to talk about."
When I was hired as an executive director of a nonprofit in my mid-30s, I realized I had to teach myself how to work a reception and represent my organization comfortably and competently. This tape gave me the tips I needed, like: Walking in taking responsibility for making others feel comfortable puts you in a better mindset. And seek out the other people who are standing alone -- they'll appreciate you saving them, as they are probably as uncomfortable as you. So - give this a chance.
Good, but not great.......2007-01-03
A little bit boring to read, 'cause it repeats itself a lot
Great Book.......2006-08-24
This books gives great tips and suggestions on how to start conversations. It even give you sample ice breakers. Good book to have and keep around to refresh your small talk skills.

Though not for the impatient, What's Going on in There? How the Brain and Mind Develop in the First Five Years of Life will undoubtedly make you a better parent. It is thick, detailed, and scientific. But it is also accessible to parents who have the time and patience to immerse themselves in the latest research on brain development. And for those who do, the rewards can be great.
You'll understand the inner workings of the brain like never before. You'll learn the latest thinking on the nature vs. nurture question. You'll gain invaluable insights into the evolution of the senses, motor skills, social and emotional growth, memory, language, and intelligence. But most importantly, you'll understand--maybe for the first time--exactly how great your contribution as a parent can be to the development of your young child's brain. Written by Lise Eliot, Ph.D., a neurobiologist and mother of three, What's Going on in There? is an immensely intelligent labor of love. It is based on the author's own "odyssey of discovery" as she sought answers to questions about her own role in carrying, delivering, and parenting her children. --Kelley Smith
Book Description
As a research neuroscientist, Lise Eliot has made the study of the human brain her life's work. But it wasn't until she was pregnant with her first child that she became intrigued with the study of brain development. She wanted to know precisely how the baby's brain is formed, and when and how each sense, skill, and cognitive ability is developed. And just as important, she was interested in finding out how her role as a nurturer can affect this complex process. How much of her baby's development is genetically ordained--and how much is determined by environment? Is there anything parents can do to make their babies' brains work better--to help them become smarter, happier people? Drawing upon the exploding research in this field as well as the stories of real children,
What's Going On in There? is a lively and thought-provoking book that charts the brain's development from conception through the critical first five years. In examining the many factors that play crucial roles in that process,
What's Going On in There? explores the evolution of the senses, motor skills, social and emotional behaviors, and mental functions such as attention, language, memory, reasoning, and intelligence. This remarkable book also discusses:
how a baby's brain is "assembled" from scratch
the critical prenatal factors that shapebrain development
how the birthing process itself affects the brain
which forms of stimulation are most effective at promoting cognitive development
how boys' and girls' brains develop differently
how nutrition, stress, and other physical and social factors can permanently affect a child's brain
Brilliantly blending cutting-edge science with a mother's wisdom and insight,
What's Going On in There? is an invaluable contribution to the nature versus nurture debate. Children's development is determined both by the genes they are born with and the richness of their early environment. This timely and important book shows parents the innumerable ways in which they can actually help their children grow better brains.
Customer Reviews:
great neuro develoment book.......2007-10-18
This book details the neurologic development of a baby, from fetal to early years. It is written by a mom in lay language that an educated person will easily understand yet gives depth that a professional will appreciate.
Great Book, if you have a scientific background........2007-10-06
This author is obviously very knowledgeable and the subject matter is extremely interesting. I learned a lot about my baby's brain development and even why he behaves as he does sometimes (for example, why no separation anxiety when they are young, but then LOTS of separation anxiety when they are older - It is all biology!). Fascinating.
BUT . . be warned that this is a very scientifically written book, almost like a medical textbook. Unless you are in the medical profession, you should read with a medical dictionary beside you. I missed a LOT of information because I do not have a science background.
I wonder why the author did not include a Glossary at the back? It would have been very helpful.
Amazing help to those with premmies.......2007-08-13
I found this book easy to read and comprehend. It was extremly helpful as a mother of a 29 week premmie who is now a year old and having some developemental delays from arriving a whole trimester early. It gave hope and encouragement as well as info on how to help foster developement in avenues I had not realized. The book even has numerous references about premmies.
SO interesting!.......2007-08-05
I have a hard time sitting down and reading a nonfiction book front to back. But this book is great, my mind skims across some of the really scientific parts, but 90% I read deeply to absorb all the great information. I am 1/2 way through in only 2 weeks, and that is impressive with a 5month old around(: I love this book, and I feel more empowered about my child rearing decisions.
Good - If You Want to Know the Biology..........2007-07-12
For some reason, I thought this book would be more about what my baby is thinking. Instead it is very much about biology. Every chapter starts with a discussion of when a certain part of your baby's brain began developing including regions, names, and discussions about when and how fast the nuerons in that area mylenate. This leads to discussions about what your baby's brain can and cannot do and when that changes. You can extrapolate from this information to get an idea of "Whats going on in there?", but it isn't really what the book is about. For example, the book discusses that your baby can smell right at birth (maybe before) and that the scent of the mother and milk and so on play a roll in bonding. Then, it talks about the tests that were done to show that this is true. It never says whether or not your baby would enjoy more smells, or maybe which smells, or even if it matters whether or not there are any smells. For me, I wanted that kind of information, not so much biology. For example, if her room seems a bit stuffy to me, will is seem that way to her? Should I delay her nap time by 5 minutes to maybe open the windows and air it out, or could she care less? This book does not answer those kinds of questions.
However, as a baby brain biology book, I have no doubt that this is probably the tops on that score. It is interesting to know how your baby's senses develop and what her brain is and isn't capable of at a certain age. So if you want a book about that, this book is great, it is easily readable, and very accessable (the brain has complicated names for its parts, but there is nothing the author can do about that). If you are looking for a book that lets you in on what might be going on in that little head of hers...well, I haven't found that book yet.

Excellent suggestions!!!!.......2007-09-10
This book is written with a tenderness that is lacking in other books on the subject.
This guide is complete and comprehensive. It breaks down each and every topic into language that the reader can easily understand. So many questions about cunnilingus that you may be too shy to ask, but have always wondered about, and this book answers them! It is an absolute must read for men of all ages. And it is a book that you never stop reading.
It is a definite recommendation for any man who is looking for an updated guide on sexuality and health.
Decent, but Nothing Special.......2007-09-10
You'd think after reading all the 5 star reviews on this book, that it would have amazing secrets that you couldn't find anywhere else. The reality is that all the oral sex books have pretty much the same information, which when you think about it shouldn't be all that surprising. This book is decent, but certainly nothing special. I think you can get better value for your money elsewhere.
Finally A Real Master of Cunnilingus!.......2007-08-17
Thank God someone finally wrote a book about how to do cunnilingus right. It has made me a much better man when it comes to the oral sex. I dont know what i would do without this book. I have recomended it to all my friends and they can't wait to get it.
THE INFORMATION IS THERE, BUT...........2007-04-04
The information is there and can be helpful, but it's sometimes hard to decypher, what with all the typos and grammatical errors. If this book had been properly edited, even by someone with a fifth grade education, it could have been condensed to half its length and still contain all the essential information.
Truly Helpful!.......2007-01-31
This is the kind of advice women want you to know. Everything that you have always wanted to know on how to properly satisfy her can be found in this fantastic book!
From knowing how to give her the best oral sex, to giving her multiple orgasms, this book is a must read!
This is no definitive guide by any means but truly helpful!

Offers very much Needed Simplicity in a Complicated World.......2007-09-17
Joyce teaches us to laugh at ourselves; she teaches us that it's ok to make mistakes as long as we recognize them and use them to mature our spiritual walk. I love preachers that come down to our level, instead of painting a "higher-than-thou" mentality with impossible standards for us to live up to. My dad once told me that a baby chick starts out with no muscle tone in it's neck. If someone simply cut the egg shell away from the chick and didn't allow it to peck it's way out, it would die. It is in the labor of breaking out of it's shell, that it finds strength.

Author of It All Began... When Jesus Gave Me Sneakers
great book.......2007-09-10
Good advice, given like a friend talking frankly with you. Joyce states it like it is, no pie in the sky perfectionism, no Christianeeze cliches.
She is right on the mark with the advice, references and interpretations. Uses personal experiences to illustrate situations. Helpful book.
You Need To Own This Book!.......2007-07-27
I read the reviews here and decided to get the book from the library. Well I have finished this book and I must say that the author has met me at the very place I am in my life right now. Chapter ll Joy in God's Waiting Room continues to speak to my spirit. Joyce Meyer speaks on so many areas and each one has touched me and showed me things that I did not realize. I thought that Joy was something that came over you or as a result of circumstances but it is not. Joy is a choice and something that God has instilled in each one of us. J.Meyer gives examples of this and she backs up what she says in scripture. If you find that your patience is being challenged (God does this from time to time when He is preparing us for the next level (James 1:2-8) If your attitude is not Godly in your waiting and you feel that your joy is just not there...then you need to do as I did...YOU NEED TO OWN THIS BOOK! Just as God has blessed me to become a licensed RN I know and needed to be reminded that as I am waiting and believing God to open doors for me I have the victory because I am a child of God. I am going to re-read this book and now I can highlight and refer back to this book for continual growth in the area of patience and truly trusting God and knowing that He has everything under control. God Bless You!!!
JOY FOUND AND RESTORED.......2007-07-26
I love this book!!! This is definetley a wonderful read for those looking to enjoy life to the fullest. It has really helped me restore my joy and find new joy. Thank you Joyce Meyer for writing this wonderful book. Alot of the things she went through and the way she lived her life full of seriousness and no time for play is exactly how I was. I can say now that I'm on the road to living my life to fullest of what Christ said that I should live.
Received extremely fast!.......2006-07-31
Very pleased with the fast service, would certainly order from again! Thanks very much!
Book Description
Community associations enforce rules and restrictions to ensure a high quality of life for residents and to preserve property values - not to harass residents. Rules are there to prevent homeowners from painting their houses pink or storing washing machines in their yards - but those same rules should not become overzealous or inflexible.
"Be Reasonable" shows you how to write and enforce rules that won't get your association in trouble and won't cause residents to hold recall elections.
"Be Reasonable" is a compendium of expert opinions from over 30 leading community association attorneys, managers and directors combined with information from CAI's award-winning magazine Common Ground. You'll learn effective strategies for drafting and enacting reasonable rules, identifying unreasonable rules and restrictions and working with owners. You'll also find out more about reasonable enforcement procedures -- from making exceptions to providing due process. Practical applications are illustrations through discussion of court cases and real-life controversies.
Some of the topics covered in "Be Reasonable" include:
* Writing Reasonable Rules
* Understanding Rules and Restrictions
* Reasonable Enforcement Strategies
* Mediating Disputes
* Levying Fines
* Controversial Rules and Restrictions
* Children
* Holiday Decorations
* Satellite Dishes
* Vehicles
* Eliminating Unreasonable Rules
Customer Reviews:
Nothing more then common sense.......2006-03-15
The title of this book is misleading, as it does not offer much in terms of helpful advice rather a sampling of horror stories from various misguided community associations. The book is also disappointingly short, I almost felt like I was reading an edition of "Reader's Digest". The author compiled the book mostly though articles published by the CAI which are available to any member and it is pretty obvious that the author is more of a scholar then someone with hands on experience in dealing with the problems of troubled homeowner associations. This book is also more focused on homeowner associations, not condo associations so all the urban dwellers might need to look elsewhere.
DID NOT fullfill what it was advertised as.......2006-02-22
I was veary dissapointed as were other board members. From ad on your web site we thought it would give us some help in enforcing the rules and regulations ands all the book does is tell you how to make the rules easier and nothing about how to enforce them. VERY DISSAPOINTED & do not believe I will believe your web site again.
Book Description
Hidden Track shows how contemporary visual culture is breaking out of the second dimension and printed form and entering into three-dimensional space, where it can be experienced. The book demonstrates how rooms are being occupied creatively and how items are being transformed. It presents the diverse exhibition possibilities that currently exist - a spectrum ranging from live painting to installations and 3D objects.
At the same time the book illustrates how urban and street art have recently moved even further out of the subculture and are now being featured more often in galleries and museums worldwide. It analyses how these public art forms are being perceived in an international art context and investigates the fundamentally different forms of presentation that this new context demands.
Through abundant images and incisive text Hidden Track also introduces the artists and exhibition spaces that are taking current visual culture out of the underground to the level of high culture.

illustrated survey of the influence and diversity of visual culture .......2005-11-10
HIDDEN TRACK - How Visual Culture Is Going Places, edited by Robert Klanten and Sven Ehmann. Die Gestalten Verlag, Berlin, Germany; [...]. 2005. 208 pp. xxpricexx 9-3/4" x 11", ISBN 3-89955-084-6. color photographs.
"Hidden Track" demonstrates that "quite often works of extraordinary artistic quality come into existence in the context of design, advertising, and entertainment" by featuring over four pages on average works of 49 contemporary artists and art businesses in these areas. Office reception areas, street corners, lobbies, showrooms and store windows, walls, signs, and in a few cases art galleries are among the many and varied places where the works are seen. Besides briefly showcasing the work of the many contemporary, mostly commercial, artists, the anthology is meant to make the point of how much such art is already a part of public spaces playing a role in generating their ambiance and working toward both social and business purposes. The implication of the title is that this "track" of art has not been given sufficient attention or appreciation. The title can also be taken ironically in that this ubiquitous art making for the visual culture of contemporary life is so taken for granted that it is "hidden," and its influence on noncommercial artists and the public's preferences in art has been only barely explored. With the wide range of imaginative art styles hardly different and in many cases indistinguishable from works exhibited in many galleries and museums, one cannot disagree with the book's central point that the line between art work in design, advertising, and entertainment and art by pure artists outside of these areas has become porous and all-but-eroded. While this is not a new point, "Hidden Track" decisively, informatively, and visually attests to it.

Excellent Book.......2007-08-05
I purchased this book along with the Dr. Mercola book, based on a Amazon review of the Dr. Mercola book. It was a great choice - I would highly recommend Going Against the Grain to supplement Dr. Mercola's excellent book/cook book.
This book will open your eyes.......2007-07-04
After reading this book and "dangerous Grains" My wife and I decided to go on a gluten free diet. Within 1 week my lower back pain and leg arthritis went completly away. Within 3 weeks my acid reflux went away. I had these pains since I was about 40 and began to dread getting older. Had acid Reflux since I was 50. I was 57 when I went on this diet and I am now 59 and feel like I'm 35 again. My wife had more severe symptoms like head and feet sores for many years without relief from our local skin doctors. She was also semi diagnosed with Lupus symptoms from our local Rheumatologist. She has been symptom free for 2 years now with no thanks to the medical profession. Your going to want to read the book. I sent both books to each of my family members; now its there choice.
A must read.......2007-05-11
I found this book to be a life saver. After many years of not knowing quite what was wrong with me (bloating, mood swings, fuzzy thinking, weight gain, intestinal cramping, cravings, tiredness, the list goes on)I now have an answer - I am wheat/gluten/dairy sensitive.
I've been on this diet just a short time and I already feel like a new person. No pills or gimmicks involved, only changing your diet and eating healthy. I can think clearly, I don't have the daily bloat, cravings for sweets or that tired run down feeling I used to get.
Pick up the book and see for yourself.
Grainy picture.......2007-04-17
A really good explanation of how grains, particularly the gluten grains affect practically everyone. Even more insightful is that disorders can be outwardly symptomless!! The only problem in avoiding grains the author recommends eating animal products and some veg but no mention of fruit. Personally I feel this strategy will cause one to potentially swap one set of troubles for another by chowing down on meat and dairy. Please please read Grain Damage by Doug Graham. Gain exceptional health, lead an exceptional life.
a clarification for the negative reviews.......2006-12-27
All of the negative reviews of this book seem to share the same confusion so I thought I should clarify the misunderstanding. Of course whole-grained diets are healthy for you, IF YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO THEM. The epidemic this book and others like it is discussing is the large percentage of people who are allergic to wheat/barley/oats or have celiac disease who are unaware that this is even possible. When these people eat wheat products, their immune system produces IgG antibodies to the wheat as it mistakenly believes that the wheat is a foreign invader. Continuous high levels of IgG antibodies in the body wreak havoc and cause numerous symptoms from migraines to arthritis. This information is supported by scientific literature. A person can be tested for antibodies to common food allergens to definitively proove if they are experiencing a food allergy. The author also discusses that oftentimes the foods we are allergic to are the ones that we eat almost obsessively. Often people with wheat allergies are carb junkies. This is because when the body has an allergic reaction, it secretes endorphins that the body can actually become addicted to so your body craves the things that are harming you. I have personal experience with wheat, and other food, allergens that caused me to develop what looked like rheumatoid arthritis at age 25. When I altered my diet based on IgG testing my symptoms disappeared. I am not some far out spacy hippy or some pop science junkie, I am a student at a US medical school on my way to being an MD. I have read the literature that supports these theories and understand the science that they are based on. There are many MDs who support this theory and utilize it to help their patients. If you suffer from the symptoms that are described in this book, it is worth while to try an elimination diet or get IgG testing. If you do not have allergies then of course whole grains (not the bleached out proccessed crap that most americans eat) are an extremely healthy part of a balanced diet.
