Customer Reviews:
A Good Start, But Biased.......2007-02-02
The Organic Food Guide is a good starting point for someone interested in organic food, and it's a quick read. However, I feel that it does not go very in depth on the subject. It also seems somewhat biased, proclaiming only the (sometimes undocumented) benefits of organic food. Also, the pictures left a bit to be desired, as most were of poultry/egg farms. The cost-comparison chart included showed organic foods to cost the same as, or only slightly more than, conventional products, which, as any shopper could attest, is inaccurate.
Lots of information in a compact form........2007-01-31
I really enjoyed this book. It didn't take me long to get through it and it kept me very interested in the volume of material that was shared. This is a great book for those that are trying to learn just what "Organic" is all about.
Great Organic Starter!!.......2005-10-27
Within the past 8 months I have switched my diet and lifestyle to an organic one. Since then I have been bombarded with people asking me why and what does it mean. I found this book in my research and think it is a very informative and practical guide to understanding why organic foods are so important, both for our health and for our environment! I have bought a bunch of these books and have been sharing them with friends and family. I recommend reading this book as a good starting point to truly understanding organic essentials!
The Organic Food Guide.......2005-03-08
This book outlines the differences in labels and treatment of foods in stores. For example, what is the difference between regular and organic foods, besides price? Before reading this book I never really understood the difference between products and why I should be buying organicilly grown foods. I found this to be very helpful in understanding if I am really eating healthy.

GREAT BOOK!.......2007-10-11
I've lived in Austin for about 6 years and honestly didn't think I'd find too many new gems in this book. I was wrong!!!! I found a few of my favorite restaurants and stores, but now have a new list of places to hit. So far I haven't been disappointed and can't wait to try the guides for other cities.
Insider's guide to Austin.......2006-02-14
This book is witty, informative & right on target. It lists all the best places to eat & shop in Austin in an appealing one-page format with tantalizing photographs. Makes you want to get out there & visit each & every place!
Fun, Interesting, Motivating!.......2006-01-22
I love, love, love this book. As a new resident of Austin, I have no idea where to shop, eat or do anything else. And this book gives you such great ideas about what to do, where to go and what you'll find when you get there. There are so many great-looking restaurants and shops in this book. I can't wait to start exploring them. The style of writing and the photos add a lot to this great book. I highly recommend it!

Don't go to Napa without this book!.......2007-05-31
Have been to Napa many times - but was unaware of the many gems this book uncovers - an incredible and fun resource for the food and wine lover! I will be seeking out these finds in the future! Highly recommended.
Great overview of Napa.......2005-08-16
This book covers all the areas I was interested in learning about before our trip to Napa Valley. The reviews seem unbiased and thoughtful. We had visited Napa 18 years ago and while we already had a few ideas, reservations, etc., this guide gave us even more places to consider. I've "earmarked" so many pages and even took this guide with us. It also includes maps, addresses and phone numbers and/or websites. Some good recipes are in the back. A good companion guide.
a great resource, even for locals..........2003-04-24
As a regular visitor to the Napa Valley for the past 10 years, it's easy to think that one has 'seen it all.'
This book really reminded me what a special place the Napa Valley is, and how much there is to discover. Visitors and locals alike will find something new and interesting that they simply must try.
Take this book with you to the Valley, or read it before you go and find your new 'must try' discovery.
Fun in the wine country.......2003-03-26
This is a must have for anyone visiting or living in the Napa Valley. Well organized and cleverly composed. I found it most useful for locating the rare-to-find places and foods that make the Napa Valley so unique. It makes a great gift for all the food lovers in your life.

Customer Reviews:
Outdated information.......2007-10-10
This book is sooooo outdated. Theres no train to Fushimi Inari but to Inari station. Theres no maiko show at the International Hotel "every night", it is only Fridays and Saturdays. Theres no mention of Ryozen Kwan On monument. Plus, I had to wait forever for the book to arrive on my mail. Against what the book says, people do their best to speak in english. After 12 hours in Kyoto, I threw this book away.
Solid book. A little hard to navigate though.......2006-11-08
All in all, this was a good book, it had a lot of information that was targeted to a specific area. The book was small and easy to carry along.
I did find it's structure wasn't great and the maps weren't the best. All in all, it did the job though.

Customer Reviews:
Gorgeous, informative book.......2007-08-19
Beautiful photography, concise writing, enticing descriptions---I already have the basic travel guides telling me how to exchange money and get around on the train, this guide tells what to do to have a truly Parisian experience. If you love locally owned restaurants and boutiques, this is like pornography. Absolutely yummy.
Je l'aime!.......2007-06-27
On a recent trip to Paris, this was the only "guide book" my husband and I used...and each recommendation was a pleasant surprise. Unique locations in each arrondissement and a variety of meal options from traditional French dinners to low-key drinks. The shops were unique and interesting as well. This book fills a void for those looking for something off the beaten track and with a strong dose of French flair. I will highly recommend this book to my friends traveling to Paris!
Funky guidebook for Francophiles.......2007-05-17
If you are sick of all the Frommers, Lonely Planet Guides etc, - or you have absorbed all they have to give you, have a look at this gorgeous little guide. Great photos, brief but informative and personal narrative. I have been to Paris several times, but plan to take this guide with me next time - just to find those little shops that you might not go into without a nudge, and actually ALL of the cafes look good!!

Customer Reviews:
Interesting perspective.......2006-12-18
I didn't expect a Birnbaum or Unofficial Guide to Disney when I read this book, so unlike the negative reviewer, I was pleased with what I found.
I found this to be an interesting perspective on the parks, that didn't pull punches. I liked hearing how a teenager perceived the different
rides and attractions. This could be quite helpful if you are traveling to Disney World with teenagers.
The book is a bit outdated now, but it still had some useful information.
A GREAT REVIEW!.......2004-04-04
I am 13 years old, and my brother is 15, and we are going to walt disney world this easter. We really enjoyed this book's great tips and facts. Hopefully they will come in handy!
it was awesome.......2002-12-23
Im a teenager that gos down to disney world a lot and i loved this book!!!
Quite possibly the worst WDW guide I have read.......2001-05-01
Clearly the author cannot speak for her generation at all. Her reviews are biased and opinionated, and her tips offer little to no help for those unfamiliar with the Walt Disney World resort. She refers to Epcot's trademark attraction, Spaceship Earth, as a "snooze," when I have seen plenty of teenagers who having nothing but good remarks to say about the ride.
My advice: stick with "Birnbaum's Official Guide." It is suitable for WDW fans of ALL ages: from young children, through teens, honeymooners, and the elderly. It will offer you far better--and less opinionated--information.
A nice change from all the Disney cheerleading.......2000-09-14
I'm taking a youth group to Disney World this fall and bought this book along with several others. I must say I appreciate the fact that the authors gave their honest opinions about what rides are good for teens and which ones are just so-so. We have limited time in the theme parks during our visit and really need to use our time wisely, but the "official guides" we all rah-rah and "Everything is equally great." This was much more like "If you can only do five things, these are the things you should do." And, like somebody else said, it really does sound like it was written by a teenager.
Book Description
