good potentials.......2007-06-11
I will give four stars because this book and cards have been taking me slowly into the fantastic world of Celtic system and belief but I haven't still practice enough to be sure of their real functioning power. Certainly they have switched my curiosity and dedication on. As for every personal journey approached either in an intellectual or spiritual way it takes time to fully understand...
excellent ogham system.......2006-01-23
This set has the distinction of being one of the first (if not THE first) ogham system made available to the general public. Despite 18 years passing since it's first publication, most of the scholarship is still sound and it still makes a nice first set for the ogham user. It's only flaw lies in the fact that only one spread is presented, composed of 15 cards total. Users will have to devise or use simpler layouts that they know from other systems. It also uses the 25 ogham system, which has become less traditional than the 20 ogham system most use. Overall, this project was a labor of love and many many years in the making and it shows.
Great - Very informative............2003-12-13
When I received this pack in the mail I was not expecting what I got - but it was wonderful once I opened it up and started reading the book and looking at the cards and putting two and two together. The set is housed in a beautifully crafted wooden box with reading sets, layouts and beautiful book which lays down the history and everything that you could possibly read about the Celtic tree and Ogham. Would thoroughly recommend it to any Irish/Celtic enthusiast.....
My favorite!.......2001-08-08
This amazing little set is based on the Celtic tree alphabet, the Ogham (pronounced oh-um). As one reviewer mentioned, this is not just a tarot deck with tree cards: this is a completely different divination system. The Murrays present a complex layout which I think is rather exhaustive, but gives a very clear insight. If their system is too much, though, you can use other layouts; I've had good results with the standard Celtic cross layout and the three-card spread as well. The book is well-written and informative, and each card's meaning intertwines with the history of the tree. You can also use your own associations with the trees to interpret the cards' meanings. For me, the deck is incredibly accurate, and it's the one I turn to most often for omens or other divinatory purposes. I thought the wooden box was a nice touch, too. ;)
Ogham Revealed.......2001-04-15
While this is not a classic tarot configuration, it is a must for those interested in Celtic and Druidic divination systems. As a divination tool it is easy to use and amazingly intuative in it's interpretations, making it wonderful for beginners. It uses the ancient Ogham alphabet and it's corelations to the trees and other icons held dear by it's creators, the Celts. While the companion book is not long, it is very informative and concise. Background information on the history of the alphabet is researched in depth with references to many associated resources. This book is an ESSENTIAL reference to druidic symbolism. If one is not familiar with Celtic symbolism, this set will draw you in completely and inspire you to dive head first into this ancient seed of western mysticism.
But most of all, the illustrations and intuative interpretations provided are excellent. While the illustrations do not overwhelm the eye, they do impart a very profound sense of connection to the representation of the letter and it's associated icon. The interpretations are clear without being overly simplistic.
I have had this deck for years and it will always remain one of my very favorites!

useful book........2000-08-09
Edred Thorsson is most noted for his work in the areas of Teutonic magic. This book represents a crossover in research and as a result the book is not as well researched as his other books. That being said, the book is one of the best books on Ogham divination at its time and continues to be a solid book today.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent Hiking Book.......2005-11-27
I have been backpacking throughout the American and Canadian Rockies and the Sierras. This book is by far the best hiking/backpacking guide I have ever read. The opinions of the authors led my husband and I to the best two hikes of our life. The book gives detailed descriptions of what to expect. If you don't have much time and want to pick out an amazing hike of your life in the Canadian Rockies - pick up this book!
Nice, but not necessary.......2003-07-22
I bought this book and "The Candian Rockies Trail Guide" in preparation for two weeks for backpacking and dayhiking in the Mountain Parks, from which I just returned.
I went on many of the hikes described in the book and found that they mostly coincided with my personal impression, but most of the time I would have been able form that opinion from reading the more factual "Trail Guide" description only, together with the respective Gemtrek map, which you will need anyway. So, basically, this is a nice addition to the "Trail Guide", which itself is indespensable.
Good but more opinions wanted.......2003-04-26
I am about to travel to the Rockies with this book as my basic guide. It is great to have a book that actually gives an opinion on what's worthwhile or not. I did hope for more opinion and more geographic guidance, however.
One trail is listed as one of the top five trails but the other four are not mentioned which is a shame. Of course, all opinions are subjective and i was surprised to see that Crypt Lake was only in the second class Outstanding category. I found this trail to be extraordinary; but am willing to accept that the Premier Trails listed are even better.
Having never walked the Premier trails i found it very difficult to follow the verbal description of the trails. I am now in the process of ordering appropriate topo maps to go with the book.
We Didn't Waste Our Time.......2002-09-21
My fiance and I love the great outdoors and we took a trip to the Canadian Rockies for the first time June/July 2002. We found that we would not have enjoyed the trip as much if we had not made a little investment on this book. The detail descriptions such as "two boulders accross from it" really help with unsigned trails.
We were there ten days and we hiked 9 of the "Premier" hikes. Some of the trails do not belong to the National Park (Alpine Club?) and these trails have no signs. For example, we would not have known the way to Bow Hut if it's not for "limestone boulder bridging the gorge" and "For Bow Hut, Cross the limestone bridge." (Samuel Smith's review about Bow Hut is wrong) We met a couple and we were mentioning to them about the lack signs and they joked, "The Canadians are really stingy with signs." Also, details like visitors cannot drive their private vehicles into the Lake O'hara region but have to purchase a bus ticket and ride the bus or hike in helped us save time.
There are two main reasons I give the book a four star instead of five. First, trail maps would have helped us a little bit more. Second, it would have helped us with decision making if the book had included some warnings about long and uninspiring hikes (except until you've arrived at the destination). For example, our first hike was Verdant Pass (22.5km, 14mi). The trail through the forest was very wet and narrow and of course the only view is trees. Two things we had to avoid were running water and mosquitoes. We hiked more than 9km (5.5mi) but had to turn back because of the advancing dark clouds (the day was raining on and off). I'm sure that Verdant Pass is as beautiful as any other "Premier" hikes but it's a long and uninspiring hike.
To have a worthwhile hiking experience, I would strongly advise those who don't know much about the Canadians Rockies to spend a little money on guide books, if not this one, then some other one.
I bought two books and in the end, we wasted this book (beaten, wrinkled and water soaked) and I can't even remember the name of the other one; this is simply to tell you that we use this book a lot. Though 7 of our ten days included rain, we had a great time hiking.
So, go and take a hike.
What They Observe Is What You Get, Most Of The Time. . ........2002-04-11
I am an "over 50" hiker with more than 30 years of hiking in the North Cascades and have been to the Canadian Rockies four times in the past five years. I have hiked 12 of the "Premier" and "Outstanding" day hikes and 3 of the backpack hikes including three perfect days at Berg Lake. (For someone who is interested in photography and scenery, their rating system is very fair.) However, the scenery is so spectacular that you would be hard pressed to make much distinction between the "Premier" and "Outstanding" hikes. Remember, the book is opinionated but you don't always have to agree. Don't always rely on the ratings. Often, they "downgrade" an area because of crowds rather than a lack of scenery or a long approach. (For example, Cavell Meadows, Parker Ridge, and the Beehives tend to be crowded but are worth "sharing" with others.) And thanks to this book, you had better get used to sharing ALL of the hikes and backpacks with others!!! (I would also highly recommend their book, Don't Waste Your Time In The North Cascades. It is the best single reference book for hikes in the Cascade Mountains.)

Great Guide.......2006-11-18
An Adventure Guide to The Canadian Rockies by Brenda Koller Having been to the Canadian Rockies numerous times and thinking we had seen all the wonderful places before we discovered this book, we now must plan many more trips there to explore all the other incredible places described in detail in this Guide. With numerous beautiful color photographs, most of which are by the author, this guide is a treasure because the scenery of the Canadian Rockies is some of the most spectacular in the world. A unique feature of this guide book is that it includes hiking details for each of the areas described. Since we have hiked many of these areas, we know this is a necessary and vaulable tool for planning hikes. With each section Koller has Hikes, Drives, Sights, and Activities, so for non-hikers it is just as valuable, also giving information for booking guided tours. The Canadian Rockies have so many wonderful places to discover and some are quite hidden unless you know where to look, as you will with this guide. Everything from camping to exclusive hotels and restaurants are catalogued also.

The only book you'll need!.......2001-03-13
I grew up in Banff and bought this book a couple of years ago while visiting my parents. I lived there for 18 years and found things close to Banff that I didn't even know existed i.e. Silverton Falls. Every summer I visit my parents (still in Banff) and plan our family's "adventures" with this book. This is the one book I recommend to everyone who is planning to visit Banff!
best book for backpacking in the Canadian Rockies.......1997-10-28
The guide is acurate and covers most every trail in the Banff, Jasper Yoho and Kooteny National Parks.

Book Description
This CD-ROM program is simple for users at any computer-competency level. The program helps people planning on taking the California Real Estate Sales license exam best prepare through practice. The CD-ROM contains practice exams, a pre-assessment mini exam and an extensive glossary of real estate terms. Users can take exams as timed an exam simulation with results and feedback at the end, or as un-timedinstant feedback on answer choice. Results can be viewed with calculated scores, and list correct and incorrect answers with answer rationale. These reports can be printed for the most effective studying.
Customer Reviews:
Highly Recommended.......2007-02-07
This is an excellent prep for the sales exam. I did all 9 practice exams and was able to pass the sales exam the first try. The types of questions and range of topics covered in this prep exam are very similar to the real exam. However, the degree of difficulty in the prep exam is more than the real exam, which I appreciated very much. The only thing I didn't like about this CD is that the software does not allow printing of the correct answers along with the questions I got wrong. Also, there is no way to save what you had done and come back another day to finish the exam.
A helpful study guide, but could be improved.......2004-11-11
This CD-ROM contains 1 pretest and 9 practice exams for a total of 1,425 questions. I am currently studing for the real estate exam and this is most definately a useful tool. However, there are a few annoying factors that should have been addressed before releasing, especially at its price. First of all, there are numerous spelling, grammatical, and spacing errors. Next, once you open the program there is no way to minimize the screen. The practice exams are 150 time-consuming questions each, so if you are an hour into it and want to check your email you have to scrap the whole thing. Lastly, the 1 pretest allows you to answer a question and immediately see the correct answer. I like that. The other 9 exams don't allow you to see the right or wrong answers until the test is complete. It's a pain to roll back through the test again. I want to see the answers right away so I can burn them into my brain. Also, at the end of each test there is an option to print all wrong answers, but the questions and the right answers come out on different sheets. I quickly grew tired of matching them up, it was a waste of time. The questions that were answered incorrectly should print out with the right answer marked. If you can live with this products' problems, it is worthwhile.
