Review on the book:"Lilacs:The Genus Siringa" John L.Fiala I cultivate and collect lilacs (siringa) a long ago. Lilacs-it is a beautiful culture, but is has not a simple technical agronomy. Unfortunately, there is a very little literature on this subject (lilacs). That is why this book is great rarity. In this book very easily and simply describe all the methods of technical agronomy of lilac. Thanks to it me can get good result. Besides in this book there is a big part about the description different sort of lilacs. Everybody who will read this book will like this culture (lilacs) and will cultivate it with great success. This book is one of the of best about lilacs. All my friends are eager to get it.

This guide has beautiful pictures, but little in the way of actual travel information. I'm a very visual person and love to see where I might go. If this sounds like you too, then buy this book. Add Lonely Planet's guide and you are all set to go.

This is an attractive book with lots of photos, but I found the Frommer's Guide to be more detailed and functional as a tourist visiting Brazil. There is a lot of useful information to be gained from this book.

I'm Brazilian and I bought this book for my american family right before our first trip together. The culture info. is great. Just a little outdated on economy issues and also the pictures are old. But over all, is the best guide I ever found! I read it now for pleasure. Sandra Thurston

My Brazilian friend living in New York with an American family bought this book for her "host" father as a Father's Day gift. Out of all of the books on Brazil she could have chosen, she selected this one because of its nice graphics and wide-variety of information about her native country. She recommend it so highly, that I bought one for myself.

Only For Early Stage Cancer.......2007-08-22

This book constatnly refers to the good results now achieved for stage I and II breast cancers. The author never even mentions later stage cancers. I was diagnosed at stage III and read most of it thinking, "What about me? Am I doomed?" I'm not doomed, but I would only recommend this book for women with early stage breast cancer.

Helped me keep my sanity during an insane time.......2007-06-24

Survior! Had my lumpectomy surgery 11-30-06.I Love this book. It helped me in so many ways, from being able to laugh to being able to cry. Ms Cohen's upfront and honest insight on what goes on during the breast cancer treatment process was tremendously helpful.

It helped me to make lists of questions for my doctors, to being able to get through some of those really bad days. This book helped me keep my sanity during a true time of insanity in my life. BUY IT for yourself, or buy it for a friend who has been diagnosed.

Bought this for a dear friend who is battling cancer right now. So very, very often, she refers to it and says how helpful are the more practical, "in the trenches" insights offered. This is not a technical medical book, but more like a converstaion with a knowledgeable friend who has "been there."

This book is a great resource. Being confronted with a cancer diagnosis is always an unwelcome surprise. In my case, it was my sister who was diagnosed and I found this book invaluable in helping me pick my "battles" as far as stressing to her what was really important in terms of her self care and at what points she really needed to call the doctor. She had a lot of denial about even being sick, so having lists that give specifics (i.e., temperature above 100.8) of when to call the doctor helped a lot. For you or I, an elevated temp is merely an inconvenience, but for a cancer patient on chemo, it is something you can't ignore. There are also other lists of things you just wouldn't think to have ready "just in case" that were very helpful. I highly recommend this book for anyone going through this.

It is difficult to believe this book is this author's first novel. The characters are rich, the book flows from page to page. You'll be hooked from the first page!!

Time Tells All.......2005-08-02

Sisters Dorothy and Caroline have a difficult time communicating honestly with each other. Dorothy made some bad choices early in life which results in her raising four children alone. Her husband, Delvin, whom she loves and supports has been in prison more years then he has lived at home. Caroline is a jealous one-up type of sister. She married up and lives lavishly with a husband who has a top executive position and two daughters who can do no wrong. Caroline talks down to Dorothy about living in the projects while Dorothy avoids extended contact with Caroline.

As the saying goes, those in glass houses should not throw stones. Caroline gets a taste of her own medicine when she believes her husband sleeps with another woman and Andrea (her oldest daughter) gets into trouble with the law. Dorothy's life makes a 180 degree turn when she meets her soul mate, Sullivan, at the grocery store. But Dorothy is unavailable because she is still devoted to Delvin who has just been released from prison.

The drama of this tale builds throughout the novel leaving the reader with several loose ends. Maseyree has a gift of weaving excitement and tragedy into a page-turning novel. However, time and money need to be invested on editing. There are segments of this story that skip subject areas and characters without notice. This forced me to go back to make sure I did not miss something only to realize the section was out of sequence. In addition, the book is littered with grammatical and spelling errors which take away from the story.

I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end! Maseyree, you must write the sequel because you left the perfect ending for it.
I do agree about the errors in this book. There was a few but the story was still strong enough to overcome that so I still gave it 5 stars.
Maseyree autographed my book at Ft. Mac in Georgia, get to writing because I need closer.

I absolutely loved the book! This is my second favorite book read this year. Each character becomes real and tangible with a story of their own. This story captures your full attention from beginning to end. As the pages grow fewer you don't want to let go. This novel is a must read. I even recommend it for mature teenagers. I sure hope there's a sequel! I would love to know where these characters are in their lives now. Two thumbs up and a pinky swear GO Maseyree!

It Just Gets Better With Time is like a premonition for the writing career of Maseyree Lofton!

The charaterization of these two sisters and the struggles of their life was very well done. As first novels go Ms. Lofton did the job and then some!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story as it was different from the urban novels and romances I'd read recently and I can't wait for the next offering from this talented writer.

I am impressed...this author certainly has "cleaned out his closet". I admire the courage it must have taken to admit some of his exploits and the obvious embarressments. Billy Gene king tells a very interesting story, and should make a good movie. (I wonder who will play his part as a boy, and Kathrin's part as the bootlegger/prostitute?) Refreshingly original!

I must have misread something. I thought this book was supposed to be funny.

I was given this book after my first visit to the Stress Center for depression along with some chocolate and bubble bath. It was light hearted and made me laugh. It also had some really practical things you could do to beat the blues. I love practical guides. So many books are full of warm fuzzies or unrealistic "helps." This book made me laugh and gave me some hope. You see, the author, battled depression too.

This is one of those books that you thank God you were blessed enough to come across. This book is for every woman, every age. You will never again believe you are the only one going through rough times.

Ms. Linamen is a very down to earth and encouraging woman. As you read you feel as if she is sitting right next to you, sharing her life and giving you hints on how to muddle through the valleys full of stumbling blocks.

The author discusses: minivacations, friends, fine whine, depression, dreams, simplifying life, grudges, weight, our inner child and our souls.

I cannot recommend this book enthusiastically enough. You really must read it!

Let me start off by saying that I'm female, 25 years old and have two young children. I have always had a problem with my weight. I never understood the problem until I read your book and realized it was because I was either over eating the wrong foods or starving my body. I started your lifestyle (I say lifestyle because diets come and go and are fads, this is a way of life for me now) 2 weeks ago. I'm 5 ft 9 inches and usually weigh anywhere from 240 to 220 pounds. The day I started I weighed myself and weighed 221 pounds and two weeks and one day later I weighed 205 pounds! I don't weigh every day because I understand that daily weights are going to differ. I have gotten several complements from co-workers and my own mother as to how much better I'm starting to look. I have energy now and don't feel drained at 6 pm every night. I can keep up with my kids who are 3 and 4 1/2. I'm not doing this for myself but for my two girls. I want to be healthy for them and have them not embarrased of me when they start school. I didn't know that switching from my usual glass of orange juice to a fresh orange in the morning could help me start losing fat, fast. I have bought just about every diet book available and they all take pages and pages to basically tell you just one thing--its either eat low fat--or eat high protein--or eat special oils--whatever. But this little book, which is a companion to Edita Kaye's really wonderful, The Skinny Pill, gives you fast, simple rules to follow. She manages to condense wisdom, common sense, an eating plan that you can follow at home and at work, and on the road and cram it all into a small, portable book. But that's not all. She has some wonderful inspirational stories....my personal favorite is "Having Dinner With Your Angel" I bought this book for myself, because I don't have a lot of time to read, and I ended up buying copies for my family and friends.

Waste of Money.......2003-06-11

I hate to say it because I was so hopeful that I was going to like this book, but, what a waste! It took me, literally, ten minutes to read this hard cover book. The price is outrageous for what you get. There are 92 pages and on each page is one paragraph. I expected to get food ideas and portion sizes, etc. and instead she wrote things like, "you can eat cereal, or hamburg patties, or pasta, etc. She never mentions what kinds of cereal or what kind of portion would be appropriate. She recently had a two page article in First Magazine and I got more information out of that than I did from this book... Trust me when I say that you will learn nothing from this book. All that money and ten minutes worth of reading.

"Don't Tell Me to Just Get Over Him" is a wonderful book that gives you a sensible way to approach the hurt and frustration that breaking up with someone special can cause. Shaw acknowledges the good, bad and ugly, while showing you how to work through the dissolution of a relationship. Even though you may be hurting when reading this wonderful work, you will still be able to find some humor and common sense to apply during your healing process. Overall, this book is an EXCELLENT MUST READ!

This book wasn't as helpful as I thought, the author had a few good ideas but as far as advice it was the same advice that you would get from any other person, she only bases the book through one perspective. This book is more for someone who is in a long distant relationship, I also felt like she wasn't in my shoes because she's happily married, I am a single mother and she talks about how lucky she is being married with children which made me feel even worse.

A very inspiring book.......2005-03-09

This is a fantastic view into the life of one of America's leading aircraft designers and manufacturers of the 20s and 30s. His challenges and successes are revealed. Along the way, you'll learn more about other prominant American aviation figures such as Buck Weaver, Eddie, Katherine and Majorie Stinson, Jake Moellendick and others. I enjoyed the book very much. Thank you to Joan Laird Post for writting it. The cover of the book, which is a painting by the author, is inspiring just by itself.
