For first time travellers to Los Angeles this book gave a wonderful insight into the city and helped greatly with our planning. Gave heaps of information on all aspects of the city not just on the 'Hollywood' side. Would recomend it to anyone visiting LA.

The book focuses on the history of California, the main places to visit, and its people and culture. In addition, considerable ink is devoted to having a more insightful understanding of specific and unique venues or events such as the state's missions, its fine wines, the earthquakes and disasters that have affected the state, the San Francisco Cable Cars, Hearst Castle and the Getty Center.

Conveniently divided, each chapter of the guide presents a detailed journey or tour of a specific topic or location. Consequently, readers are able to develop a feeling of the areas being discussed. Great maps and history.......2000-05-23

My Husband, children and I traveled through the Baja Penisula for a month earlier this year and we used the maps and information found in this guide. The full-size very detailed maps were more useful than other maps that we brought along. The book listed destinations(and historical facts on these destinations) in the order you would normally travel through them if coming in from the North and also includes recommendations for excellent dining locations and incredible little known sites that we never would have found. We could have made the trip without the guide but it made it easier and more enjoyable.

This book is awesome - not only does it have images of lots of Inflate products that you can't find anywhere anymore, but it goes into how the company got started and some of the technical manufacturing aspects. Great for anyone interested in industrial/product design.
