Book Description
Little ones love to play peek-a-boo! With its bright, quirky animals and oversized flaps to lift, Peek-a-Moo! is sure to be a read-aloud favorite. Readers play peek-a-boo with a different animal on each page, guessing what it is, then lifting the flap to find out. Each animal has a different sound that becomes part of the peek-a-boo game: Guess who? "Peek-a-moo!" says the cow. "Peek-a-squeak!" says the mouse. The bold, funny illustrations will keep kids laughing, while the large trim size and sturdy binding will ensure many hours of lift-the-flap fun.

Great Infant/Toddler Book.......2007-01-11
They used to read this book frequently at reading times in Ohio when my daughter was in baby laptime. She always loved it and I gave it to a friend as a gift. She says that her daughter is really enjoying it as well.
Awesome.......2006-03-03
This book is great. I not only have my own children but I own a child franchise and I read this book to our 10-13 mo. olds and 12-15 mo. They just stare and smile and try to grab every page.
I love this book.
Your toddler will love it, but the flaps will tear!.......2006-02-04
Your little one will have plenty of fun pulling down the flaps in this colorful book. However, the large flaps in Peek-a-Moo! are thick paper and therefore easily tear and crease. Also, if you have a toddler who does not want or understand to close the flap back up with each page (such as the case with our 14-month-old daughter), you need to make sure the flaps are back up before you turn the page. Otherwise, they will hang out the bottom of the book, vulnerable to further damage from the wrath of an active toddler. We have other lift-the-flap books that have smaller, thicker flaps that automatically close when you turn the page (such as Dear Zoo--highly recommended), which are in much better condition.
A must for toddlers!.......2006-01-16
Excellent source of learning animal names and sounds, my 14 month loves it!
My Daughter Loves Both Peek-A-Moo & Peek-A-Zoo.......2005-12-17
My 12 month old daughter loves these books. She tries to repeat the animal sounds as we go through the books. She has my husband and I read these back to back repeatedly! I highly recommend both of these books.
Book Description
Little ones love to play peek-a-boo. With its oversize flaps and bright, bold illustrations, this follow-up to the highly successful Peek-a-Moo! is sure to be another hit with young readers. On every page, kids play peek-a-boo with a different animal found at the zoo, guessing what it is, then lifting the flap to find out. Each animal has a different sound that becomes part of the peek-a-boo game: Guess who? "Peek-a-roar!" says the lion. "Peek-a-ooo-ooo-ooo!" says the chimpanzee. The sweet, funny animals will keep kids laughing, while the large trim size and sturdy binding will ensure many hours of lift-the-flap fun!

Great for toddlers!.......2006-01-16
Pages and pictures are nice and big. My 14 months loves it.
Giggles galore.......2004-05-26
My son lights up and laughs when he sees this book. He loves the peekaboo concept, but giggles even harder when mommy gets the sound "wrong." If you are signing with your child, this book provides a great opportunity to reinforce the sign with the animal sound.
One note, my niece was scared of this book when she first got it. We think it was the was the eyes are drawn...but who knows!
Highly recommended.
Wonderful book!.......2003-10-12
My 8 month old son Oliver loves this book! We have read it so many times that I can simply recite the book & he will instantly smile. The pictures are lovely . . . colorful, simple & large. The sounds of the animals delight him. I would highly recommend this book to other parents.
Strange Animals but Baby Loves It.......2003-08-19
My daughter is now 9 months old and peek-a-boo is her favorite game. She really likes this book. The flaps are big enough for her to lift by herself. Personally I find it a strange choice of animals for me to mimic their noises. E.g. "snort! goes the rhinocerous". I didn't realise there was a "Peek-a-moo" book which I'd probably prefer. My daughter doesn't seem to care though and loves this book.

great book with interaction for toddlers.......2007-08-01
great book for toddlers with nice, big, flap-opening action. My daughter really liked this book and the fact that she gets to open the flaps and turn the pages. Great, fun book for babies and toddlers. Only complaint is that she tends to rip off the flaps since they're really flimsy.
Great Book.......2007-02-17
My son loves this book. There are 2 others like this and we have them all. He learned all his animal sounds by reading these over and over! We love them.
Customer Reviews:
Durable and Well-loved.......2007-01-20
My 16-month old son has absolutely loved this book. I bought it 2 months ago, and it has been read more times than I can count. Many other books he has have the flaps torn off, but while he has bent some of these flaps, they have remained attached to the book. My 3-year old also loves to "read" this book. Definitely a worthy purchase for our household.
Bedtime favorite.......2006-11-04
My 17 month old twin daughters love this book. I have read it so many times that I know all the words. It is better than some other lift-the-flap books because the flaps are not as easily torn off. I think this is the only lift-the-flap book we have that still has all the flaps.

Book Description
Papa calls on all the creatures of the jungle to help find his baby in this tender, noisy, and gloriously illustrated game of hide-and-seek.
"Jut-Ay, Baby, peek-a-boo,
Want to play? Where are you?"
Baby knows that Jut-Ay means morning has come, and it's time to play. But where is Baby hiding? Eechy-eechy-egg! crows the red-tailed rooster. Is Baby near? Hru-hruu! Hru-hruu! whines the puppy dog. Is Baby crouching there? Jiak-jiak! Jiak-jiak! screeches a monkey in the banyan tree. Is Baby swinging there? Hornbill and snake, elephant and tiger — who can finally lead Papa to Baby's hiding place?
Customer Reviews:
Fun read!.......2007-07-07
I bought this book for my 4yo and 2.5 yo, based on a recommendation from their Montessori school. Both kids love it, and I've since heard them using some of the animal "sounds" from the book in the course of their daily play. My little one loves finding the baby hiding on each page. I would also highly recommend the companion book -- Hush! A Thai Lullaby. We would give that one 6 stars!
Sister book to a caldecott honor winner.......2006-07-05
I bought this book just because my son loved Minfong Ho and Holly Meade's other book, "Hush! A Thai Hide-and-Seek." This one is very similar with a few differences. The illustrations are a little brighter! The father is interacting with his daughter in a game of peek-a-boo, rather than the mother hushing animals so her son can sleep! There are mostly different animals in this book with a couple of repeats. While the father is searching for his daughter he encounters a dog, dragonfly, rooster, snake, monkey, elephant, tiger, turtle, hornbill and crocodile! On each page the little girl is hiding and my 20 month old son loves to show you where she is! Beautiful illustrations with a fun interactive story are keys to a winner for my child. 5 stars again for Ho/Meade!
A bright and colorful adventure.......2006-03-02
The illustrations in this book are vivid and beautiful. A father and daughter play hide and seek in the Thai jungle, surrounded by wild animals and lush vegetation. My 18 month old loves searching for the little girl in all of her hiding places and then seeing the joy of the parent and child when they find each other at the end. What child doesn't enjoy a good game of peekaboo?
Beautiful illustrations, fun play.......2006-01-27
My daughter got this book for her second birthday. We had never heard of it before then. It is now her bedtime book, replacing Goodnight Moon. The story is pretty simple, but sweet. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. My daughter loves trying to find the baby on every page. Now that she knows where the baby is, she still plays and pretends with it. She likes to find the different animals, especially the "croc-oh-di-al." I plan to look at other books by this author and illustrator. I like that it's a daddy and daughter book too.
Beautiful and Sweet.......2005-04-07
What a beautiful book! The illustrations are really lovely and the pages (we have the hardback) even feeeeel good. My 21 month son LOVES this book. He enjoys the different animals and points them out by naming them and making the different sounds they make. He also looks for the baby and the daddy. My 5 year old also enjoys the book and is now playing Jut Ay with her baby brother.
I'm just so delighted with this book and right after I finish this review, I'll be buying Hush! A Thai Lullabye.
Book Description
Whooooooo will be my friend? Lonely little Olivia Owl is in search of a playmate, and she needs the help of curious young readers to find another owl to play with. Children are sure to have a hoot lifting the flaps searching for a friend for Olivia in this new peek-and-find adventure. Along the way, they discover a whole caboodle of critters like Pat Opossum, Dilly Dormouse, and Elly Eagle, who are only too happy to be Olivia's new friends. With interactive lift-the-flaps throughout, and a wonderful full-size pop-up surprise at the end, Maurice Pledger's heartwarming story comes alive in 3-D.
Customer Reviews:
A whole lotta owls.......2007-03-19
This book is lovely as are all the Maurice Pledger books. Henry loves books that he can interact with, and I love them because they are full of UK animals which is where I am from. Our grandchildren really love this one too.
Really Beautiful.......2006-04-25
This is such a beautiful book. The flaps keep little ones happily occupied (although not too little!!!), the pictures are lush and gorgeous, and the book is a friendly introduction to reading and to the natural world. I love that my 4-year-old knows the difference between swans, owls, and eagles -- they're not "just" birds. This would make a great present for a special little one.

Product Description
From Publishers Weekly Peek appends a note about his version of the Texas folk song, along with invitations for children to make up their own lines to sing when they master the easy musical arrangement appended. Starting with dandy black-and-white drawings of a woodland, Peek gradually builds up to full-color illustrations of a gala occasion. Flashes of red and green show up first when Mary Squirrel and Henry Raccoon meet on the way to Kate Bear's birthday party. The revelry at the gathering is heightened by Kate's yellow sweater, the blue, purple, orange, etc., in the guests' costumes. Standout details include the Bears' formal garden in bloom, status-symbol house furnishing (marble statues of twin bears flank the fireplace and support the mantel), imposing birthday cake et al. The towering confection is an uncommon treat; so is the book. Copyright 1985 Reed Business Information, Inc. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Young children love this book!.......2007-07-06
This is such a great book. I've used it with many many preschoolers and children, and the remark I always get is "again, again"...
My kids adore this book!.......2006-02-25
The younger loves the beautiful pictures and singing along. The older loves looking for all the little details in the pictures. They both love substituting the names of the characters for their own friends' names! Both learned their colors through this book without realizing what they were actually doing. This is one book I don't mind reading over and over.
Amazingly Fun Book.......2003-02-09
I bought this book for my nephew and the entire family has enjoyed his singing the pages, he had it memorized in no time and he is only 2 years old!!! I would recommend this book to anyone with young children, not just for their enjoyment but for the entire family.
This is the first book I ever learned to read.......2002-09-01
I remember reading this book back in kindergarten and the first grade. It was the first book I ever learned to read. I loved this book so much that I read it until I had it memorized. It's too bad the original cover is not printed in this edition. I'm going to pass this one down to my cousin, Adam, whose only 4. Hopefully, we can continue the tradition so this will be his first book he ever learns to read.
This is a classic book for colors!.......2001-12-13
Merle Peek does an excellent job at getting kindergarteners to be actively involved in this book. I am currently majoring in Elementary Education and I did a bulletin board on this book and everyone loved it! My professor said this was a classic color book. The book is about Katy, it's her birthday and all her friends wear different color clothing to her party. From yellow sweater to green sneakers to pink hat, this book has all the basic colors. This was a song that was written into a book, so it's very rhythmic and is easy to follow. The song is on the back of the book, so all children can enjoy! I loved it and would recommend it to all beginning readers!! Try and read it, what do you got to lose?? I give this book five stars!!
Book Description
The brilliant birds roost and strut in this expandable accordion book that provides a 3-D view of a scene from a Latin-American folktale. A 16-page guide tells the story of how these birds, once drab and grey, got their colorful plumage. The tale, in both English and Spanish, introduces young readers to birds both real and imagined, and teaches a lesson of patience.

Customer Reviews:
Most Adorable Book Ever !! A Children's Favorite!!.......2003-12-10
MY CHILDREN ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS BOOK!!! I have read this to them so many times I have memorized it! This is an adorable hide & Seek - Peek-a-boo book with cute little baby animals & filled with little rhymes and cute pictures. There are baby animals hiding and playing a game of peek-a-boo. There is a baby bear, little kitten, baby bunny, baby owl, duckling, puppies, and a baby lamb. IMPORTANT - DO NOT buy the So Tall Board Book Version or any version printed in 1995 or later. Those printed versions do not include all of the pages in the original printing of this book. I would recommend the 1992 printed version of this book. I'm not sure about the earlier versions, but the 1992 printing has all of the pages. I would think that as long as you get a version printed in 1992 or earlier and it's not the "So Tall Board Book" version that it would include the original pages, but make sure you check into it before you buy it! IMPORTANT - If you buy the 1992 printed version and do not see all of the pages, make sure the pages aren't stuck together. That happened to me with the first two books I purchased. My children love this book and I love reading it to them! All of my children have enjoyed reading this book over and over! Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. MY CHILDREN AND I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Peek-A-Boo! I see You!.......2003-12-10
This is one of the most adorable books I have ever read. My children absolutley love this book!! I can't tell you how many times I have read this to them. I first purchased this book in 1994 (1992 printing) and my son adored it. Unfortunately, I lost the book before my second child and have just now purchased it again on Amazon.com for my two youngest children. There are baby animals hiding from their parents and playing a game of peek-a-boo & hide and seek. There is a kitten, a baby bear, a baby bunny, baby owl, duckling, puppies, and a baby lamb. In one of the other comments posted here someone mentioned that the new one they had purchased had some pages left out. This is very true!! For sure the kitten and baby bear are both missing from that version (four pages). After reading her comment I made sure I ordered a couple of books from different printing years. DO NOT buy the So Tall Board Book Version or any version printed in 1995 or you will definitely be missing some pages. They must have taken them out to save money (but still charged the same price). I'm not sure about the 1983, 1986 or 1988 versions, but the 1992 printing has all of the pages. I would think that as long as you get a version printed in 1992 or earlier and it's not the "So Tall Board Book" version that it would be okay, but make sure you ask before you buy! This book is definitely worth purchasing. If you buy the 1992 printed version and do not see all of the pages, make sure the pages aren't stuck together. That happened to me with the first two books I purchased. I have enjoyed reading this book to my children as much as they have enjoyed having it read to them! THIS IS THE CUTEST BOOK EVER!
favorite.......2003-06-28
I have the words memorized to this book. My children love the anticipation of where the characters are hiding and peeking from next. Very sweet book.
Great introduction to rhyming for the pre-Seuss set.......2000-06-10
I love Dr. Seuss, but I think many of his books are confusing for children under two. This book has simple sing-song rhymes, and cute illustrations about every toddler's favorite game. The idea of reading to young children is to get them to love books and reading. This is a great start.
LOVE IT!.......2000-03-25
Out of hundreds of books I have bought this is the only one that my daughter actually sits down with on her own and the only on that I can read to her. She LOVES it. I will by this again when all the pages are gone. She can use sounds to identify the duck and doggies. She says boo and covers their faces. It is too cute. A great gift idea.
