My four year old knows "Brown Bear" by heart in English so reading it to him in Spanish is a fun way for him to become familiar with the language. We have the whole series plus "Good Night Moon" in Spanish.

Intelligent.......2007-01-10

I like this book mainly for the way its designed. One one side its in spanish only, then on the flip side you can read in english. Its great to read and understand what it's saying (because its an unusual story) and then try understanding in spanish or vise versa.

My children love this book - The pictures are wonderful, and I like how one side reads upside-down - you meet in the middle. My four year old said, "Just like my Spanish workbook!" (We use Flip Flop Spanish curriculum)

Some of the vocabulary they picked up on the first time through in Spanish was frijoles, broma, cocina, blanda, and bosque (beans, joke, kitchen, soft, and forest) - I know they'll continue to grab more phrases and words since they already know all the family and animal names from the Flip Flop book. Great buy! What a bargain!

Abuelo y los tres osos es un cuentito que le cuenta Abuelo a su nieto para pasar el tiempo. Abuelo en su cuento exagera un poco los acontecimientos del cuento famoso de Trencitas de Oro y los Tres Osos. Hay partes que hacen gracia y es un libro genial para los niños. Es bilingüe - en español de un lado y en inglés del otro.

MUST HAVE! GREAT FUNNY STORY...........2004-11-28

This is a Must have. They story is a Latin twist to "The Three Little Bears". A grandfather telling the story to his grandson. They illistrations are great too. Instead of porridge the Little Bears eat Frijoles (Beans). You read the book in English on one side and flip the book and read it in Spanish. Its a great story and the Spanish is everyday Spanish. At this price buy one for every little one you know.

A nicely writen story. The most adorable of all the story is the relationship between the grandfather and his grandchild. The later doubting his grandfather's tale both with love and respect. The Spanish is simple and clear. Both adult and children will smile with delight to this lovely book. Do not expect nice illustrations for the drawings are quite simple and where it is obviously not the goal of this book.

Good introduction to Goldilocks.......2003-03-21

My toddler loves reading "Ricitos de Oro," and now "reads" it to herself using the different voices of the bears. The translation isn't perfect, but it is a nice simple story. As she is getting older, she is curious to hear the story in English and Spanish, so it is nice to have both versions on the same page.

Reply to incorrect translation.......2001-12-12

I just read a review of this book saying that "high" was incorrectly translated to "dura" and "low" to "blanda". I have this book and noticed that the author does not use high and low to describe the chairs in English but uses "hard" and "soft", which are translated correctly to Spanish using the adjectives "dura" and "blanda".

This book retells the classic story with few differences from the classic story many of us grew up with. The illustrations are a little boring and don't stand out.

My 3 year old asks me to read this over and over again. He loves to here the voices of the respective bears Mama, Papa or Baby bear. It is concisely written and easy for someone with a moderate understanding of Spanish to read. My only criticism is that part of the translation is incorrect. "High" is translated as "dura". and "low" is translated as "blanda". These translations are both incorrect.

Fun book about animal sounds.......2007-02-04

We have five Eric Carle books (some English some Spanish) and this is my 18-mo-old's favorite. I think he likes the repetition and rhythm. He brings it to me all the time. The illustrations are simple, colorful and inviting.

Ayla Carves her Path to Humanhood........2006-04-06

This is a marvelous book; it deals with Ice Age and the coexistence of Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon.
It is the first volume of a powerful series. Fortunately for Spanish reading public all of them are translated and available.

Ms Auel gives the reader a vivid and lucid reconstruction of a long forgotten era.

Ayla is a Cro-Magnon orphaned by an earthquake and adopted by a Neanderthal female, from this point on, a strange world unfolds. It's a discovery trip for Ayla and the reader. At the same time allows us a deep insight into "otherness".

In a present world that is shrinking and cultural differences arise every minute, Ms Auel's work show the human common traits that make us kin to every other human being, even if it is as distant related as a Neanderthal.
Don't miss this experience.

Una imagen de la edad de piedra.......2005-01-18

Sumamente interesante, el libro te crea una imagen de como pudo haber sido la vida durante la edad de piedra. Te describe con sumo detalle las personas, sus vestidos, hogares, herramientas y todo el entorno incluyendo flora y fauna. Cuando inicias el libro, no te detienes y quieres leer capitulo tras capitulo para saber como la pequeña huerfana logra sobrevivir a cada peligro en un mundo tan hostil. Este solo libro me impulsó a comprar toda la serie.

We recently got this book out of our public library and I must say that it is a big hit with all of us. We (my son, my husband, and I) absolutely love the pictures and the text. I think this is a wonderful book that will get lots of mileage.

EXCELLENT book!!.......2003-12-10

This is my daughter's all time favorite book, she has loved it since she was a baby, she is now almost 3 and still loves it. My son is 1 1/2 and it is his favorite too! They each pick this book every night and fight over who sits on my lap to read it. It's a cute story with rhymes and my kids learned a lot from it, especially the grocery page.

This is absolutely one of our favourite books. The illustrations are so beautiful and the rhymes are fun to read as well as educational (teaching our 23 mo old son various means of transport). We have enjoyed reading this ever since he was only a few months old and it has become our favourite gift to friends and family. My only criticism is that this board book in the Bear Series is missing a few pages which I discovered when I purchased the large, hardcover edition just a few weeks ago. I was so surprised and dismayed to discover this.

Warm fuzzy feeling.......2003-07-24

There is something special about this book. A great read outloud -- it still holds the attention of my four year old. Allows for the child to anticipate and read with you. Very cheerful in tone and illustration, simple, but still adds a couple of nice vocabulary words. My daughter has moved on to much more complicated books, but this one is still read and appreciated.

This is a rhyming book about the bears in the family and what they do, like sing, lick bowls, and pick plums. It provides a nice review of the names of family relationships. It's not at all scary. It has about 80 words.

My daughter's Favorite book!.......2001-02-05

This has been my daughter's favoite book since she received it as a gift when she was 7 months old. She has stacks and stacks of other baby board book, including all the classics like "Goodnight Moon," and this is always the one she pulls out and wants to hear me read. She seems to love the illustrations, which are whimsical, very colorful and glossy, as well as listening to the sweet story. The fact that the book is a little larger than what seems to be the standard board book size also seems to appeal to her. I highly reccommend this book!
