One man's views.......2007-07-18

I'm captivated by female beauty, so I was interested at the prospect of a book dedicated to the subject from an artist's perspective. Unfortuately, the author has framed some of his statements to be representative of "most men." It's annoying and sloppy. For example, commenting that many women now shave their pubic hair, he observes that "most men" actually prefer women with pubic hair (without even broaching whether its trimmed or groomed). He fails to acknowledge that preferences vary widely and offers no data to support his statement. He has a section on body piercing where he goes to some lengths to explain how he's finally come around to accept the idea, but only in certain parts of the body, and again women are better off unadorned. Opinions on that subject also vary from person to person. Rather than discussing his preferences as strictly his own (e.g. "As a painter, I prefer 'x' because...") or doing some actual psychological or historical research, this book comes across as the organized ramblings of one opinionated man (whose opinions I don't share) - not intelligent discourse about a beautiful, age-old topic. I returned the book.

This slim book is not just a delightful account of the female body, but a passionate hymn to the beauty of woman.
Intensely sensous, but not pornographic at all, it lovingly examines and exalts all the components of her body, underlining their significance from an aesthetic and erotic viewpoint.
It should be required reading for all photographers and painters alike as an introduction to the appreciation of the female body.
Art teachers had better leave anatomy manuals on the bookshelves from time to time and refer to this book as they teach life drawing classes, to arouse the students' genuine interest in what they are drawing.

This is an amazing book, more so as the author is man, but one with unusual perception when it comes to understanding the female psyche about their bodies and sexuality. MUST READ!.......2007-08-26

Male or female, if you are the least bit sexual you must read this book. You will find everything you ever wanted to know about female genitalia and sexual response. Frankly, this information is available from many other sources. The true value of this book is the complete investigation of the G-spot and female ejaculation. In most straight books, mention of either is cursory and unconvincing. More amazingly, books by M.D.s published in the last few years still deny the existence of both. "The Clitoral Truth" blows that nonsense out of the water.

The author traces female ejaculation back to 500 BC, examines the anatomical research on the G-spot then thoroughly discusses the search for the mystical spurt. Once you read this chapter, you will no longer doubt the existence of the G-spot nor will you fear the prospect of dousing the sheets.

I was introduced to female ejaculation many years ago when a lover's orgasm drenched my bed in an unknown liquid. Since then, whenever I mention the phenomenon, I am greeted with derision and one word, "Pee." Now, I use this book to quietly convince my friends. Hooray for Ms Chalker!

I also recommend "The Good Vibrations Guide to the G-spot" which is more of a owner/user manual.

I'm a guy and I have always felt it important to know the functions and purpose for all the sexual organs for both sexes.

The data and the diagrams are very informative. She goes over a history of female anatomy and politics governing it's representation in anatomy books over the centuries.

The diagram's, names, functions and purposes of the myriad organs are very informative. I knew that I didn't know it all, but I didn't realize that there was so much more for me to learn.

This book is more like two 'books' combined than just one book. The first book is a self-defining discovery or reclassification of the female sexual anatomy. That 'book' is very detailed, and thought provoking.

The other book is full of social commentary and is trails the development of the clitoral presence in anatomy books and how politics and male insecurity just wiped it out of some books for a time. It's very informative. What I don't like about the ideological part is that it states many times that a woman can't be pleased fully unless it's with another woman.

The problem with "The Clitoral Truth" is that the technical data is intertwined with personal stories of different women and how they didn't receive pleasure from them selves or from men until they had sexual relations with other women or until they went to one of the women only sexual seminars.

I wouldn't suggest it for any woman who didn't have a strong sense of her sexual identity, because it could easily lead some to homosexual experimenting or converting. (I've seen similar campaigns and women who have succumbed to them.) It's a subtle undertone, but it's consistent. (While I don't have anything against homosexuality, I have seen enough conversion campaigns to last a lifetime.)

Having said all that, I'm giving a copy to my fiancée and suggesting it to a few educators and Ex-s.

It's a great book, Men should read it. Women should read it. Mothers should read it to their daughters. Educators could use it as a resource.

Needless to say I am always seeking new ways to enhance the pleasure when I make love to myself and when it comes to double clicking my mouse, I am no novice. The information here with in this book made it impossible to keep my hands away from the mystical fold let alone my love bean. The men who bashed this book should get past their insecurities about female sexual assertion. This book is wonderful and filled with information that any heterosexual man for whom pleasure is mutual and for whom his partner's pleasure is a source of pleasure for him in its own right.

Essential Read for Women and Men.......2005-02-26

This book is packed full with empirical research and information that is rarely discussed or taught in general sex ed classes. Chalker's references are well documented and based in up-to-date sexology/human anatomy studies. The Clitoral Truth contains drawings of the massive internal structures of the clitoris, so that women and men can appreciate how this organ wraps around the vagina and urethra in various ways among women. Just as no two penises are exactly alike...no two clitorises are identical...And hence, women experience orgasm differently. Chalker's chapters highlight some of the history of the clitoris, the importance of this organ, and how to include it in your sexual play.

I would also recommend Rachel Maines' "The Technology of Orgasm" if you are wishing to better understand women's orgasm (or frequent lack thereof) and how ignorance about the clitoris and ignoring this vital organ relates to women's lives and sexual experience.

Outstanding Desktop Reference.......2005-12-07

I looked long and hard for a book this thorough. A buddy of mine had Crevelings tolerancing book and I thought that was excellent. As I finished my masters degree, I needed a thorough desktop reference that I thought represented best in class. That's exactly what this book is. Since each chapter is written by the major players in these areas, this book is much more than one authors views on the topics. Rather, it is a best in class compilation from some of the sharper folks here in the US doing dimensioning and tolerancing. Paul's chapters themselves are excellent and very thorough. His discussion on how to incorporate the geometric controls into stackup analyses is excellent. Overall, this book should be on every mechanical engineers desktop along with the ASME GD&T standard and Montgomery's books on Quality Control and Design of Experiments. Hats off to Paul and all the other authors for their excellent work!

I would say the first 1/2 is GD&T. The 2nd 1/2 covers tolerancing methods. I have learned a lot from the 2nd half. It covered a lot of new information, in clear terms. I have been through six sigma certification. This is a valuable book in my toolbox.

Ce livre est une référence sur le sujet. Comme plusieurs ingénieurs et techniciens en mécanique, je me demandais si ma façon de tolérancer était juste et si les normes que j'utilisaient était à jour. Ce livre nous explique bien les différences entre asme et iso, la façon graphique de représenter les tolérances, et surtout: comment inspecter les pièces et comment calculer les écarts de tolérances (IT) pour des mécanismes fonctionnels. De plus, l'achat de ce livre peut vous faire économiser le prix des normes ISO ou ASME car il est rédigé selon les normes les plus récentes (2005).

Very well done calendar. Comes with 12 colorful pictures with all your favorite Futurama characters in it. There's a wall poster in the middle of calendar that you can take out too.

Nice non-stretched graphics on this calendar. A must buy for futurama nuts, like me.

Not borrowed from the TV show. Lots of detail. Some month's are better (funnier) than others but all in all I can't wait until 2004, when I can pin this up.
