A Fibonacci Tale - Math Adventure It is up to a young girl named Amanda to save Chee crops by figuring out the pattern by which the rabbits multiply.
Customer Reviews:
Great way to teach children a difficult topic.......2007-05-07
I loved this book. On it's own it's a fun story with great illustrations, but throw in the educational content and it is amazing. What a fun way to make Fibonacci accessible to children. I am a big fan of "living math" books and this is a must have for any living math library.

Excellent Book!.......2003-07-16
Rabbits Everywhere is a must for every rabbit guardian! It deepens your appreciation for this wonderful animal. Rabbits have a history and its great to have a resource like this book to bring it all together. If you are a rabbit enthusist get this book.
This book is a great find for all rabbit lovers........1998-09-11
For rabbit lovers and collectors of rabbit related items, this is a great little book. It pictures a wide variety of art pieces based on rabbit lore and just plain bunny cuteness.
A few of the more graphic hunting type pictures could have been left out, but otherwise it is a good book for browsing. Just don't let your rabbits get a hold of it, for it is very chewable.

Poof!.......2002-09-22
I like this book but then again i don't. The reason why i like it is because of the way that Selena just wanted to see how everything was happening instead of minding her busniess. i am just like Selena. I am always nebby. I vdon't like thebook because i think Noah's mom shouldn't of been allergic to rabbits. Instead of school, i think Noah should have hid them somewhere else, like the library or in his garage. Somewhere his mom wouldn't go or look. I would tell a friend about this book. I think that this relates to text to text because i have read a book just like this one. I forget the name of it though.

Excellent Bargain and Resource!.......2005-01-20
This is the best investment possible for a new tyer- an incredible bargain compared to the other resources available. There is nothing quite like seeing the process to learn how.
The Art of Fly Tying CD-Rom.......2001-07-12
If you are just getting started at fly tying then this CD-Rom is a must have. It will show you just about everything that you will need to know to tie great flys, and the tools needed to tie them. The videos are one of the best instructional aids you can have for fly tying, and the fly catalog is more than enough for just about any kind of fishing. You will not regreat buying this CD-Rom.
What a great resource.......2000-07-08
This CD really, really helped me to learn to tie flies better. I had minimal instruction, and was trying to teach myself from books. The value of a CD-ROM package is that you can see video demonstrations of many (but unfortunately, not all) the techniques needed to tie flies. The video of how to spin deer hair flies really helped me because I could see how much hair to use, how to pass the thread around the hook shank, and how to pack the hair -- something that is difficult to glean from a written description or picture in a book.
This CD covers only the basic techniques used in fly tying, but does so very well. The different areas are easy to navigate, and you can jump from place to place easily with a click or two of the mouse. The video and still images are clear and large enough to show good detail.
This CD-ROM also has hundreds of fly pattern recipes with a searchable fly pattern index making it a good reference source. However, only a few patterns have "how-to" tying videos from start to finish. Yet, each fly does have instruction on how to perform each generic technique needed to tie the fly.
If you are a beginner and you get this CD you will like it. I also recommend getting the accompanying book by the same name. The same information appears in it, but I found it useful to watch the videos on the CD-ROM and then tie the fly at my bench with the book open to the same page.
Book Description
This convenient worktext gives students a unique approach to learning, remembering, and reviewing how to use Spanish verbs correctly. The book provides a systematic presentation and review of Spanish verb forms and explains when and why a certain verb tense should be used. Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Verb Tenses includes an impressive number of exercises and open-ended questions, numerous conjugation charts, a list of verbs and their prepositions, and Spanish-English and English-Spanish vocabulary lists.
Customer Reviews:
Spanish Verb Tenses workbook is great!.......2007-10-12
This workbook is the best spanish aid that I've used. A person just can't communicate with just nouns and adjectives. They need a good working knowledge of verbs. This book takes you through the tenses, and spends 79 pages on just the present tense, working through all the irregulars, stem-changing verbs, etc. There are a total of 226 pages of workbook-type work, then some appendices, spanish-english glossary, and the answer key. The last page is 305. About every 6-7 pages is a paragraph to translate into spanish. It makes a person think. One thing about this book is that even though there is a small english-spanish dictionary in the back, you'll need another bigger dictionary, since many words are not in their dictionary. This is a great investment. I would buy it again, knowing what I know now.
Excellent book.......2007-08-11
This is an excellent book. Lots of great information, written in an easy to understand format.I just finished a class on spanish, and only after reading this book, and doing the excercises am I starting to really understand.
Spanish Verb Tenses.......2007-08-02
This is so good, the teacher thought I had someone of Spanish desent help me write my papers!! So I actually had to dumd down, a little, WOW!!!
Better When Used with Behind the Wheel Spanish 8 CDs.......2007-07-01
As Spanish verb resources go, Practice Makes Perfect is almost as good as
Christopher Kendris's 501 Spanish Verbs.
When you have to go to Mexico on business, with no knowledge of Spanish at all, and with just two weeks to learn to speak the language, you do whatever you can to learn.
I bought and tried everything, including this book. It is good and I learned a lot from it.
My best results in verbs and expecially in learning to speak and understand the language came from Behind the Wheel Spanish by Language Dynamics. Great course.Behind the Wheel Spanish/Complete Illustrated Text/Answer Keys/8 One Hour
How I am successfully using this book to become more conversational in Spanish? .......2007-06-25
This book is fantastic for teaching Spanish grammar for verb tenses. It goes great with a Spanish verb conjugation book such as 501 Spanish verbs. One of the most interesting things about this book is the vocabulary that you will learn. I was only expecting to learn how to conjugate verbs with this book. But I learned Spanish verb conjugation and so many new vocabulary words that I was able to put to use almost immediately with Spanish speakers. The exercises were also fun to do, and I never felt bored when studying with this book.
Many people say that you should first learn how to speak the language and reach an intermediate conversational level before attempting to study the grammar from a book. I disagree. I have used this book with my favorite Spanish course, Learning Spanish Like Crazy, and I am very happy with the progress that I have made. And I feel that this book has helped me to develop a better understanding of "why" sentences are said the way that they are in Spanish. Learning Spanish Like Crazy is probably the best self-study course for learning authentic Spanish from this side of the Atlantic, but it left me with certain questions about using Spanish verbs. But I have been able to use this book to successfully fill in those gaps and become more conversational. If you are truly serious about speaking fluent Spanish, then you'll want to order this book.

Writing Better English : An ESL Workbook
ASIN: 0071426469 |
Book Description
Practice Makes Perfect: English Verbs offers ESL students an effective way to master English verbs. Concentrating on the three most challenging aspects of verbs--form, meaning, and use--it features comprehensive overviews along with exercises that present common regular and irregular verbs in everyday contexts. Students get to practice verb conjugations while gaining valuable insights into how context influences verb form in English.
Coverage progresses from basic verb phrases to more complicated forms, such as modal verbs and verbal complements, and includes examples of sentence constructions in which verbs play a central role, such as imperatives, conditionals, and passives.
Customer Reviews:
Good help for teachers and students of English as a Second Language.......2007-01-03
This is a good, clear text for structuring lessons for foreign students. While it is not a huge treaty (nor is it meant to be), it is to the point, with lots of exercises. Especioally helpful are parts IV, V and VI, refering to imperatives, passive voice, hypothetical conditional, phrasal verbs, modals, and gerund and infinitive complements. These last are subjects I have found difficult to find in other texts, at least with an easy presentation that can be understood by students of English as a second language. I have recommended this book to students in Chile.
Book Description
Master your German action words and speak confidently in your new language
While most verb books offer little more than conjugation charts, Practice Makes Perfect: German Verb Tenses coaches you in how to use conjugated verbs in context. In addition to hundreds of conjugated verbs, you get clear explanations, lots of lively examples, and many engaging exercises that help you remember tenses, and, equally important, know when and why to use them.
Customer Reviews:
Great information and drills but definately not for beginners........2007-03-18
I picked this book up without looking closely enough at the actual exercises, of which there are many. I should have noticed that they actually require a fairly advanced German Vocabulary to even complete the simplest of drills. This was noticeable even at the very first set of exercises.
If you are somewhat advanced in your German vocabulary though, this may be very helpful as there are very many drills and exercises that follow the explanations of usage. It's just really not something a beginning German student would be able to use as its just too frustrating to complete the drill/exercises when you don't really understand what the words mean. A beginner would just require too much time spent using a dictionary.
If your a beginner I would suggest a grammar book that offers a more balanced presentation of information; one that starts the student at the beginning and requires little, if any, prior knowledge of German.
I should probably condition my rating as being '2 stars' if your a beginner and '4 stars' if your advanced enough in your overall German to be able to understand the exercises.

Conjugate verbs like a Italian
Most verb books offer little more than conjugation charts and a few mechanical exercises. Practice Makes Perfect: Italian Verb Tenses gives you much more. In addition to thorough demonstrations of conjugations for regular and irregular verbs, it features plenty of useful examples and numerous engaging exercises that help you remember verb tenses. And, equally important, it explains when and why to use them.
Two handy appendices (one listing conjugations and another matching verbs with their prepositions) make it easy for you to find the right words in Italian quickly.
Customer Reviews:
Great book but not for beginners.......2007-08-06
I'm nearly done with this workbook and I have purchased the rest of the workbooks that have been written by this same author simply because I like the teaching method used in the books. The exercises are systematically arranged to bite off verb tenses one type at a time. It seems easier to pick up that way.
However, anyone interested in this book needs to have at least a fundamental understanding of the language first-- basic vocabulary, pronunciation, sentence structure and some limited experience with pronouns, prepositions and articles. The first chapter jumps in with conjugating regular, present tense verbs but expects you already know how to say things like "the clouds" or "a new car".
This workbook would be a good second step after a crash beginner's course or set of beginner's CDs (that's how I started).
I have an intermediate knowledge of the language and the beginning of the workbook has been really good review. The rest is new to me. Sitting with a pocket dictionary while I do the exercises is helpful (like I knew how to say "snowman" before this!).
Now I've just ordered her book on prepositions and pronouns. This book really drills you on verbs, but to the exclusion of everything else. If you're self-teaching through books, workbooks and CDs as I am-- you're going to want to approach it from all angles, else be left asking WHY? (I say this out loud to myself even) when something that doesn't have anything to do with verbs leaps out at you as confusing.
An audio component (CDs) is critical to learning the language in addition to the workbooks.
I take a workbook with me wherever I go. I leave one in the car and when it looks like I'm going to have a wait somewhere, I pull it out and work on it.
Of all the workbooks I have by Paola Nanni Tate, I like this one the best.
Buona Fortuna!
Quite Bad - Disappointing for this Publisher/Series.......2007-04-04
This book is quite poorly done. This same series (Practice Makes Perfect) for Spanish is excellent. I was overjoyed when an Italian version was released. However, this book is disorganized, assumes knowledge before introducing the material, and relies too much on English translations for exercises. The exercises in the first chapter (present tense, regular conjugations) assume knowledge of irregular verbs that have yet to be introduced as well as assume knowledge of regular verbs that were not introduced in the chapter. Some irregular verbs are mixed in but are not introduced well and have no place in the first unit. Overall the book is a sad, sad product for the "Practice Makes Perfect" series.
As I stated above, the Spanish version of this book is exceptionally well done. Perhaps that version had to go through multiple revisions (versions) until they finally got it right. This is the first try at an Italian version, and they did not get it right. Please, "Practice Makes Perfect", get a better editor and try again.
Very useful in class.......2007-01-16
I am of Italian descent and wanted to learn the grammar, etc so that I could speak the language (which I forgot for many years) properly. I am taking Italian classses and we have used exercises from this book in class along with out textbook. It has been very useful.
Gramatical mistakes in an Italian grammer book.......2006-07-09
I recently studied at a language school in Italy for 3 months and bought this book to review verb tenses I had learned. I was disappointed to find a few minor errors in the present tense section and then a very significant error in the formal imperative section. This book is horrible! Also another HUGE problem I have with the workbook is that half the exercises are translation exercises. I cannot learn by translating, it's difficult to become fluent in a Italian by translating a bunch of English sentences into Italian. I mean, honestly! Probably 60 percent of the book is in English! Somehow the workbooks/textbooks I used in Italy were able to get their point across without using any English. I understand it can be helpful to translate expressions sometimes, but I don't trust this book enough to believe its translations. I'm not going to buy anything from this company again. Sticking to monolingual and printed in italy workbooks and textbooks from now on.
Plenty Of Exercises But Fatally Flawed.......2006-02-10
This text has many exercises on Italian verbs with answers provided - so far so good. But the author ruins the usefulness of this book by not marking when an Italian word does not follow the normal stress the next to last syllable rule. For instance, we have 2 Italian verbs vedere (to see) and vendere (to sell). We expect vedere to be stressed veDEre (next to last syllable) which it is. But vendere (to sell) is accented on the third to last syllable VENdere. How to you know which is which - well you don't because Italian is not consistent and there's no way of being assured of pronouncing this word correctly unless 1) the author marks the exception (which she doesn't) or 2) you look up the word in a good dictionary. So you will need to look up hundreds and hundreds of words if you want to know where a particular word is accented. A further problem is than other than a short Italian-English & English-Italian glossary of verbs at the back of the book, there is no index to many of the words used in the book. Nouns, adjectives, and even some verbs are not listed so be prepared to look up a lot of words in a dictionary for that also. Example - you're going along a there's the verb troncare. No definition of this verb given in the text and the verb isn't even in the glossary at the back. So folks, especially if you are a beginner and an absolute necessity if you are a self-study person, don't waste your money on ANY Italian course that does not have irregular stresses marked in the text or at least in a good glossary at the back of the book. If intermediate courses like "Da Capo" can do it, then it is unacceptable for other books for beginning or intermediate students not to do the same. The best verb reference book for Italian is by far "Bescherelle Les Verbes Italiens" which lists 8,000 verbs. All irregular stresses are marked and any irregular form of the verb is highlighted in red. And don't let the fact that it is in French deter you. It is very straightforward in its layout and easily understood even if your French is non-existent. This book is available online at Amazon-France for only 9.98 Euros plus postage. 2/2006.
