This is the latest edition of the authoritative text on Cheesemaking. Not an introductory or beginners book but if you already have some knowledge of Cheesemaking this will be a valuable reference to new Cheeses to make and improvements to your current Cheeses.

Only the Beginning Basics.......2001-01-15

You have to take the title literately. The book, although presented with color photos for every example, only covers the pure fundamentals, such as how to hold the bat, which side of home plate to stand on when batting, which base to run to, etc. These are all issues that need to be discussed and taught when working with the new "tee baller." But, for those volunteer coaches who might be looking for the basics of how to run a tee ball practice, or basic drills for the beginning ball player, or working with and informing parents who are new to organized baseball, this book stops short. I purchased the book sight unseen with no additional information on which to base my decision. I am writing this review just to educate others who may be looking, what is, and is not, included in this 30 page book.

A left-brained book for right-brained people. Or maybe it's the other way around. It's all here: copyrights, agents, contracts, script approval, credits, royalties . . . all the stuff that could make you--or break you.

The Nasty Truth.......2005-05-15

One of the other reviews said it, unfortunately, well: the books of this type are nicely done and comprehensive in their way but you're fooling yourself if you really think these are going to help you get a play produced. And it's not just a matter of writing a good script; you'll never know because most of these markets will never even respond, no matter how carefully you adhere to their guidelines. I've submitted to the Victory Gardens Theatre multiple times - a theatre that proposes to advocate local playwrights, of which I am one - and I have yet to even get a response. And, yes, a SASE was enclosed each time. I get the impression that there's a nice and sizable trash-can near their in-box! Anyway, you'll find a lot of "oh-thou-had-better-be-professional-when-submitting-to-us-because-
we're-quite-impressed-with-ourselves" type attitudes, but the likeliness that they'll act professionally in return is minimal.

Dated But Valuable.......2004-06-01

This book is absolutely drop-dead necessary for playwrights who intend to work in the field--and for other writers, too. It includes scads of information you'll never get in any MFA program, like how to negotiate a good contract, how to decipher copyright law, how to divide billing fairly, and more. This is information you need, and information colleges and universities unfortunately don't get around to teaching.

This book is primarily focused on U.S. artistic business and law. If you live in another country, parts of this book will be useful to you, but you'll need to do research as to your country's law and business conventions. At least if you have this book, you'll have an idea what it is you're seeking.

Author Dana Singer published this book in 1997, and at that late date, it's odd that she didn't include more on using the internet in conducting your playwriting business. There are a lot of useful forms, organizations, and contacts provided in this book, but you'll need to Google them if you want to use the 'net for them. If a second edition ever comes out, hopefully there will be more weblinks, at least for the U.S. Copyright Office if nothing else.

Your knowledge of the points in this book can make or break your playwriting career. Though dated and synoptic, it's the most thorough-going collection of information on the topic I've yet seen. Read it, memorize it, and keep it on your desk. You never know, right?

An Essential Reference for Any Serious Playwright.......2004-05-12

Dana Singer's "Stage Writer's Handbook" is probably the most helpful overall resource I have purchased as a playwright. "The Dramatists Sourcebook" and Dramatists Guild publications are, of course, indispensable, but Singer's book helped me understand the business and legal side of pursuing a career in playwriting.

The book is well-written and very accessible to those less versed in legal jargon. I can't recommend this book enough!!

A Must Have.......2003-12-02

Although one reviewer here bitterly insists that you must "know someone" in order to be published or produced, this is far from the case...as my own career attests! I was a complete newbie and managed to get published on the first try (and got reasonable pay, too).

But back to the book. It is invaluable. Period.

Here you'll learn everything you need to know about copyright, contracts, publishing and producing, and much, much more. If you want to be a working writer for the stage, you're gonna need this book. :)

Exceptional and very helpful.......2002-06-17

I just found this book to be very concise and very helpful. It broke down every aspect and is an excelllent resource to go back to. I jus tbelieve that now Dana needs to provide another edition since things have changed so much with the internet so we know what is and is not acceptable as far as submitting and using the internet for specific deals. I got the book 5 years ago and am still finding that I use it.

Very Soothing Voice and Music.......2007-06-11

I would have to disagree with Karen K who said the voice and music were irratating. I found the narrators' voice to be extremely soothing and the music to be beneficial and relaxing. In fact, for all the hypnosis tapes I've ever used, this is by far the most relaxing. I'm able to go into an extremely deep trance and always come out with the suggestion at the end (that's how I know I didn't just fall asleep). I only gave it 4 stars so far, but will update it in a couple of weeks when I see how well it works. I've been using it twice a day for two days, today is the third, and haven't seen any changes in my appetite or eating yet. It says to use it for 21 days. I don't know if that means you'll only see significant results after 21 days, or what, but I'll keep this review updated to let you know if I've lost any weight. If not, then at least I have had some incredibly relaxing sessions while I'm listening to the tape.

Day Five: I found when I went to the market I chose only healthy foods and stayed away from the junk food without even thinking about it. I checked the fat content on all food even if it said "light" or "low fat." When I saw chocolate and thought I'd like some it was immediately followed up with the thought that I didn't want to buy it. The hardest part is getting out of the store without the junk in the cart. At home, I've noticed I have not wanted to eat between meals.

Fantastic!.......2007-01-28

After having so much success with Trevor's cd "Your Power Within" I had to try "Relax Your Way to Thin." I've lost 17 pounds so far and it is fantastic! I've never wanted to say I'm on a "diet" and I didn't really want to change my eating habits. But, after listening to the cd, my whole attitude about food and healty eating habits started changing. It made me realize that I wasn't denying myself anything by eating healthier, I was actually giving myself more. The weight started coming off, I'm feeling great and I'm sleeping soundly. Awesome CD, I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to loose weight.

This didnt work for me. Maybe because everytime I turned it on I fell asleep. Good way to fall asleep if you are having trouble. Bad way to lose weight.

Very impressed!!.......2006-11-06

I had gone to a Hypnotherapist before to lose weight and did not have much luck. However, I decided to try Trevor's method...and it works!! My eating habits changed dramatically after only listening to the cd twice. It is the most relaxing experience I have ever had. This cd allows you to fall asleep, so I listen to it while I am going to bed. It says that even if you do fall asleep your sibconcious will receive the messages that Trevor sends, without a doubt, it does! I am really amazed by this cd! I am getting ready to order his cd's for exercise and to quit smoking.

This is an amazing CD with incredible results! I have always had weight problems, tried all the fad diets and always gained the weight back.
