Congratulations to Lois Sando and Tammie Lane! I have had so much fun with Erick's Hungry Winter - this sweet story is simple enough for my two year old to follow, yet descriptive enough to keep my six year old enthralled. The illustrations are sensational - intricate, and realistic. Each time we read Erick's Hungry Winter we look forward to searching for new details in the illustrations. It's one of our favorite bedtime stories to read, as it leaves us with a feeling of contentment. I would highly recommend this book for any children who love nature, animals or adventure

What a wonderful book! My family loves being outdoors and watching wildlife; and this book tells a lovely story about a little duckling on the river and all the other animals he is seeing his first time out on the river. The photography is gorgeous and educational. It's better than an artist's rendering because you're seeing the real thing. My kids, my husband and I love the story and the pictures. This book has become the most frequently asked for story in our household. I highly recommend this book for young and old alike.

This is an excellent book to educate your child on wildlife and mother nature! The photography is wonderful and should excite us all to see her wonderful creatures both large and small. My nephews love it and ask to have it read to them time and time again!

This is a wonderful story with beautiful photos!! I have 2 small boys that love this story and ask me to read it over and over again. It keeps the young reader guessing about what is happening in the forest!! I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Early Colorado is the setting for this story about family, Indian problems, greed and politics. Janice has some excellent thoughts but the book seems to drag a bit. Apparently life in northwest Colorado was perilous and survival depended on God and family. This is one Christian Fiction series that shows promise.

Dissaponting - Poor Value.......2003-11-08
The usefull info contained in this book can be condensed to about 5 pages and can be found on many coyote hunting websites. The rest of the words are there for the reader to stumble over and add volume to the book. In my humble opinion, this work is not worth more than about $5.00 compared to other books of similar price. Gerry Blair's Predator Calling book contains much more information for the same price.

The Coyote Hunter is a well written informative book. The book is written in an easy to understand style that gets to the point. The one other review does not mention the great success that can be had coyote hunting after reading this book. I hunt coyotes in Montana and Wyoming and I can tell you the authors know what they are talking about.

THE NEWCOMER'S HANDBOOK FOR MOVING TO AND LIVING IN WASHINGTON DC is a great book for people relocating to the area, but even people who are not moving there can enjoy it. It talks about where the best neighborhoods and schools are in the District itself, as well as in Maryland and Virginia, mentions where the shopping malls and other stores are, and it even goes into detail about the town of Columbia, Maryland, which other books about the Baltimore-Washington DC area fail to do. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is proud to say "I'm an American."
Nothing worthwhile.......2006-08-18
This book is devoid of any of the information I really needed, like where to get my car inspetected (and the whole process of getting a DC driver license) or even where the good playgrounds are.
Relocating to DC?.......2006-05-18
If you are relocating to DC, don't do it until you've read (or at least skimmed) this book. I haven't even moved yet and it's been helpful. First it explains different neighborhoods and why you may or may not want to move to that location. It also gives you helpful hints and good questions to ask regarding a place to rent or buying a home. Included are the daily life information such as where to buy a couch, find a veternarian, or the location of the closest park. All in all the book covers many issues that I would not have thought about before moving to a new place.

This is a great little guide to the neighborhoods and general features of life in Washington DC. In conjunction with the "Not For Tourists Guide to Washington DC", these two books provided me ("a newbie") with everything I needed to find my feet in DC.
Great for newcomers like me.......2003-11-15
This is an excellent guide. I've used many sections to point me in the right direction - getting a driving license, radio stations, good eats, getting to airports, metros, churches, tax stuff. I love the district outlines. It's clearly laid out, well indexed and easy to use. All in all a brilliant resource for my relocation from London - a difficult thing for a book like this to achieve in a city that's constantly evolving.

This is a detailed account, told mainly in the form of the true letters and dairy notes of one young man¿s experience of World War II from the day he was ¿called up¿ to the day he returned home almost five years later. There are no heroics, no sex, and any drama is hidden between the lines. The letters to his wife, Gwen, are matter-of-fact, at times almost naïve, but often with a touch of humour. They were written in uncomfortable and sometimes primitive conditions from barrack rooms in England, India and Malaya, from the crowded decks of troopships and as censored postcards and letters from Japanese POW Camps in Singapore, Taiwan and Japan. They appear exactly as written. Nothing added, nothing taken away. Parts of the Diary and other notes written during the first 19 months of captivity were confiscated by the Imperial Japanese Army in Tokyo. The remainder were hidden and brought safely home. Harry Berry's wife Gwen, never gave up hope even though it was 18 months from the fall of Singapore before she received news of her husband. She kept all his letters, without which this small insignificant slice of 20th century history would never have been preserved for posterity!
