Where To Get Your Bobke Fix!.......2007-09-12

While watching Le Tour De France this year (2007) my wife and I fell in love with Bob Roll. What a character! And when the Tour was over we went into withdrawal...

So we were delighted beyond belief to find we could get our Bobke fix with "Continuing Misadventures."

Is "Bobke II" for everyone? Not likely. Not everyone likes "cowboy poets." But if you kinda sorta grok where Mr. Roll's coming from, this book is a treat!

And whenever my wife and I bike a century now? We plan, to borrow Bobke's phrase, "To finish in good order."

Now... haven't seen anything in VELONEWS recently by Mr. Roll... starting to shake... Is that a little purple elephant on the wall?

A lot of diary entries.......2007-06-13

I love Bobke. I love him on TV, and I will forever picture him, Chris Carmichael, and Lance Armstrong spending a week in North Carolina in 1997 (maybe early 98). They did long rides every day and Bobke basically convinced Lance not to drop out of road racing. We all know what happened after that as far as Lance's career goes.

I wish he'd write about that week. (Maybe he has, but if so I'd have gotten that book I think.)

This book is just a series of diary entries, nothing really to sink your teeth into. I read awhile and then skimmed to the end. Sorry, man.

Purely Entertaining.......2007-05-08

This is certainly not a literary work of art, but I doubt it was meant to be. It does give great insight into the work ethic and desire of a guy who was had a nice cycling career, but was never much more than a working class cyclist. If you enjoy the antics and commentary of Bob Roll, you'll love it. It is pure "Bob" and pure entertainment. I greatly enjoyed it.

Ok it took me 2 days to read it. Not literature, not inspiring, just a good interesting read. Glad I read it.

Stuck on stupid.......2006-07-03

I don't know if Bob Roll thinks it is still funny after all these years to say "Tour DAY France" or if he is just stuck on stupid. Whatever the reason, I can not get over this imbecillity to have any further concern with whatever else might be sloshing around inside his skull.

Great for young readers!.......2007-01-11

The Star Sisterz series has been the redemption of my daughter's reading habits. She refused to read for a long time until I gave her the first book Nova Rocks. She devoured the entire series in just under two weeks. This is nothing short of a miracle for the girl that hates to read. I've read the books too and found them to be filled with fun humor, interesting characters, and a nice little surprise at the end. Definately worth five stars.

Fabulous New Series for Middle Readers.......2005-04-20

Fourteen-year-old Nova Darling can't seem to get out of a huge rut. Her mother is forcing her to stick with ballet, even though she wants nothing more than to rock out on her hidden guitar, Roxie; her older sister, Venus, is a certifiable genius, and now Nova's going crazy. I mean, she has to be. After all, it's not everyday that someone claims to have seen a secret message pop-up on the screen of the ATM machine, like Nova did. Her message? "Act like a rock star in front of a group of strangers." How would the ATM machine know that she loved the guitar, and that she truly wanted to be a rock star? Now, in between her daily duties as a library volunteer, ballet prima donna, and Joe Tsai gazer, Nova has to also play the part of detective to figure out what is truly going on.

From the very first page of NOVA ROCKS! I knew that STAR SISTERZ was bound to be a popular new series for middle readers. Nova is a fabulous character, who has the snottiness of a 14-year-old, accompanied by the need to be cool, and normal feelings of not being accepted. Her lingo is hip, and will draw readers in by the hundreds. Overall, this is a wonderful new book that will leave readers grappling for the next release in the series CARMEN DIVES IN.

a teacher's reaction to Star Sisterz.......2005-04-06

Star Sisterz has much to recommend it not only for girls, but for adults trying to understand the feelings and travails of the average teenager. It is well written and captures their insecure world with both humor and colorful examples of teenage angst. It shows true insight on the part of the author. I heartily recommend for both moms and daughters.

I love star power!! I am an actress and love these series I can so relate to her too. I bought all 8 and all my friends are really begging to read these here's the story line:
-star calloway is 14
-she is a star
-her parents and baby brother have gone missing for two years
- she lives with her grandmother

Like I said own books your friends don't have! otherwise it's way boring to have same books! so buy star power today!

This book was okay. I reccomend you read it but it's not as exciting as the others except for the ending and some of the middle. Especially when Brooke tells everyone her mom is Coco when she promised not to tell anyone or else it would ruin her mom's career. read and find out what happens.
