A great guide to the US.......2007-06-19
This is a great source for maps and attractions for each state. The ring binding makes it easy to turn to the needed page but the gap it creates upsets the flow. It's a high quality reference/map which I find pulling out all the time. Very useful item!
Indispensable.......2006-11-19
I am an admitted map freak. I find it almost impossible to read a book without looking up a map of where the action is taking place, if I'm unfamiliar with the area. Rand McNally maps are, generally speaking, the best US maps you'll find, rivaled only by those produced by AAA or some local authorities. As the years have gone by, R-N has included more and more information in it's road atlases so, until you're ready to step up to the expensive (but deeply rewarding) world of professional atlases, I'd consider this a must on any bookshelf.
Great.......2006-08-10
I found one error the first time I opened the book (an incorrect page number in the index), but that's the only one I found on a 2,000 mile road trip. Served us well, was fun to use. It's certainly oversized, but we'll keep it in our car and reference it freqently. Recommended.
Well done but not as good as in the past.......2006-02-01
This is better than the lower cost Rand McNally Atlas.
What we didn't like is that in prior years, their was more coverage of sites of interest in each state. Now, there are just some suggested regional tours in the front.
The book itself is of high quality and easy to read and use.
Spiral-bindings make all the difference!.......2006-01-19
This is a road atlas designed for use while actually in a car. The spiral-binding is a must for ease-of-use. And, Rand McNally isn't one of the biggest names in map-making for nothing. An excellent product.

The most X-TREME Road Atlas EVER!!!.......2007-03-10
This isn't your father's road atlas! This one has RADICAL streets, AWESOME rivers, and COOOOL lakes represented in TOTALLY TUBULAR drop-down 2-D! I should warn you that you may LITERALLY BURST INTO FLAMES when you note the 6 - 6!!!! - main thoroughfares out of Gettysburg, PA. That is but one moment of potential spontaneous human combustion in the Northeast. Do not look at panel A-4 on the Vermont map, WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!
The perfect size to place in your rucksack in your cross-country trek, the Rand McNally Road Atlas will give you much "G Love". By which I mean that you will be grody to the max and will blind multiple people with science. Science. The sweet science of geography.
Is it the best?.......2007-01-12
Until someone shows me a better useful road atlas I am buying this one.

Worthless.......2005-07-27
Maps are way too small to show any detail. The maps are only good for major highways at best. For example, Mexico, the entire country is displayed in an area of less than 7 by 10 inches and shares this with inserts for Mexico City and Puerto Rico. New Mexico, the fifth largest state, has a slightly smaller display area and the city of Albuquerque map is 5 by 3 1/2 inches. Worthless is the best I can offer.

Unorganized, Not durable.......2006-07-26
I have had this atlas for about 9 months. I am not so pleased with the overall organization on the maps. It is not easy to follow a route when it moves to another page. Lacks good page to page references and sometimes the next map is dozens of pages apart. But the worst thing is that I recently took it on a trip and the heat in the car caused the glue in the binding to melt and all the pages fell out. Worthless now.
Rand McNally 06' Road Atlas.......2006-07-24
Quick delivery, received in great shape, pleasure doing business with you.
Great Big Atlas.......2006-07-03
Easy to read, big, detailed maps. Some states are on several pages, which is kind of a pain, but a smaller map couldn't have this much information.
the importance of a good road atlas.......2006-06-23
I can't stress how important it is to have an accurate and well-designed road atlas available for your home or car. I believe this particular road atlas to be top of the line in quality. I know guys HATE when their girlfriends say "are you lost?" and of course the guy NEVER wants to admit he's really lost. But there's really no reason to feel embarrassed if you have this handy dandy road atlas with you.
The reason I might look at a road atlas is mainly just to jump to the back and check out how much the population of each city has grown since the previous year. I also like to see if any airports have been added to major cities. I desperately need a road atlas right now. For some reason, the road atlas that's usually kept in the same shelf as the phone books isn't there right now. It's gone. No one knows where it is. I guess I don't need one *desperately* since I don't travel that much anyway.
The only thing you could complain about with a road atlas is that it's not big enough to cover the tiny streets for whatever city you might be living in. But you have to understand how THICK a road atlas would be if it had to cover ALL the little streets and whatnot across America and Canada. A road atlas exists mainly to cover the main highways and other major roads, and it does a very good job at it. Everyone should own a road atlas.
Great reference for travel.......2006-06-05
I bought this atlas for my family's 6000 mile roadtrip across the country. The atlas proved to be very useful--especially the large, detailed maps of downtown metropolitan areas. Having never been to Philadelphia or Washington DC before, I could easily have gotten very lost had it not been for the guidance of these maps. Another useful feature of the atlas is the mileage chart for each state, both the standard city-to-city mileage and a very useful "places of interest mileage" table, which gives the distance from major cities to potential places of interest (national parks, amusement parks, and just plain tourist attractions). There is also a city-to-city mileage chart in the front and a map showing driving times in the back. Most states also have a section to write notes as well, which is great for directions or the address of hotels or sites.
One thing that proved frustrating to me while traveling was the fact that the maps, which are indeed very large and thus quite detailed, often break a state (even a relatively small one) up into 4 or so pieces. This is great if you're focusing on just one corner of a state--bad if you're driving as much as we did at times. There were days when, had I used this atlas as reference, I'd have had to consult 6 or so pages just to get an idea of the route I'd be driving for the day. And don't try looking at a map of the entire US--that, too, is broken up into regions. Again, good for those seeking a lot of detail, bad for long distance travelers. I took another atlas along with me for this purpose. The spiral binding also proved annoying at times--if you want to find something that happens to land on the edge of the page by the binding, you'll find that part of the map difficult to read.
Overall, however, this atlas proved to be a very valuable reference, and I'm glad I took it even though space was limited in our car. As I said, however, if you're planning on driving a very long distance you might consider taking another atlas or set of maps as well, when you need to get a broader picture.

IT WAS THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ
Three Mitzvahs.......2006-11-30
A book review by Aria Wexler
You Are so Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah is an outstanding novel written by Fiona Rosenbloom. The book is Rosenbloom's first and only book. Miss Rosenbloom writes the book in the perspective of a Jewish teenage girl's emotion as she becomes a young adult. Throughout the book Rosenbloom uses shorter sentences to get the point across. The protagonist of the book is Stacy Friedman. She is only asking God for a few things.
The, realistic fiction, book mainly focuses on a young girl growing up. It explains the emotions that Stacy has to go through with her parents divorce, a younger brother, her crush, and friendship. Just when Stacy thought that her mother and father would get back together she finds out her father has a girl friend, and she has to watch her mother suffer without a husband anymore. Stacy feels humiliated about her brother, Arthur, who is at least 20 pounds over weight and extremely intelligent. Stacy has a huge crush on Andy Goldfarb, but she just isn't sure if he likes her back. Most importantly Stacy ends up uttering the words that she has been dreading, and she ends up saying it to someone very close in her life. She screams at them "You are so not invited to my Bat Mitzvah!"
Since Stacy is planning and studying for her bat mitzvah, a Jewish ceremony of coming of age, she needs to meat with the Rabbi. After talking with Stacy he fills that it would help her to do 3 Mitzvah projects, (community service work) before her bat mitzvah. Stacy struggles with the mitzvahs (good deeds) she chooses to do. The day before her bat Mitzvah she feels like she has done three failed mitzvah projects. In the end do Stacy's Mitzvah's finally work out or has she completely failed?
I would give this book two Thumbs up! Through Stacy Friedman's thoughts, feelings, and personal experiences Fiona Rosenbloom has made the book inspiring throughout. The book was a real cliff hanger! I highly recommend this book for especially girls ages 11-15. You don't need to be Jewish to read and relate to this spectacular book

You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.......2006-05-08
I just turned thirteen years old and my bat mitzvah is in four weeks. I started to get nervous and my mom noticed. She bought this book for me to read thinking it would help me. I read the whole book in two days. When i first opened the book i expected a novel about the preperation a twelve year old girl had to do until her bat mitzvah, but with a twist of humor. Instead, i got just the twist of humor and not as much of the religious concept. I was really hoping this book would ease my nerves about my upcoming bat mitzvah, but instead it just gave me a good laugh. I would recommmend this book to most people because you dont actually have to have knowledge of the jewish religion to read this. But if your looking for help with YOUR bat mitzvah, this is not the best book to turn to.
great if you have a bat mitzvah?.......2006-04-03
I thought this book was going to be about some rich girls bat mitzvah. i also thought that it was going to be good for girls that have had or is going to have a bat mitzvah. i was like oo i am going to love this book. i was totally wrong though. i thought it was really enjoyable to read though. i read it in just 2 days!! this book is more like a book about friendship. it is kind of typical story for a girls life (if you and your friends are really dramatic). I think girls whose friends and them have a lot of drama going on in their life will love this book! Even if not you will like it. this is a great beach read, it is a page turner!! oh and if you didnt catch on you do not have to be jewish to read this book i think.
A wide audience, even non-Jewish readers, will appreciate Stacy's realistic dilemmas.......2006-02-13
Fiona Rosenbloom's You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah! (0786856165, $15.99) is both hilarious and revealing, telling of one Stacy Friedman, getting ready for the highlight of her life, her bat mitzvah. She plans for success, friendships and romance, but when she struggles with her mother's idea of fashion, difficulty with the mitzvahs, and conflicts, her bat mitzvah begins to look like more of a disaster than a success. A wide audience, even non-Jewish readers, will appreciate Stacy's realistic dilemmas.
