Book Description
Why is Darwinâs theory of evolution taught as fact? Based on current advances in genetics, astrophysics, microbiology, and other sciences, it should have been discarded years ago! In straightforward, easyâtoâunderstand language, Ralph Muncaster investigates evolution and natural selection by examiningâ
- Darwinâs reservations regarding his theory
- the âevolutionâ gaps in the fossil record
- theories that counter evolution
- the scientific evidence of intelligent design
- why many scientists now believe in creationism
Dismantling Evolution helps people understand the facts that refute evolution between species and the scientific evidence that supports creationismâand the divine creator.

We are without excuse.......2007-04-21
Former evolutionist turned creationist, Ralph Muncaster saw the absurdities in evolutionary theory. He raises amazing, thought provoking questions. He tests theories made by scientists supporting evolution, and quotes their findings, indicating difficulties in the support of evolution; it is severely flawed.
When looking at creatures and plants we need to ask: "how" did they know........."how" to grow?, "how" to repair?, "how" to form?, "how" to reproduce? Through probability, Muncaster shows us that life by chance from a simple cell to a full life form is an unbridgeable chasm. There is such an irreducible complexity even within the simplest of life forms that if one bridge is broken the whole theory collapses. We have discovered: mutations are damaging, order can not come out of chaos, and the incredibly complex designed machines from nanotechnology. What we are learning on the molecular level is truly mind-blowing. These small molecular machines may hold the future. "It defies logic to pretend that such complex systems--systems that work together in such a precise and harmonious way--came about randomly. It is plainly obsurd."---------Gerald Schroeder
Why bother studying this? Because evolution is being taught as fact in our schools, and secularism is creeping into our church. This book will help reinforce us.
We should be asking why evolutionists don't mention "chirality" in their studies? Is it not because it cannot be explained, so it is then ignored? If scientists believe in the impossible probabilities of life by chance, why are we still in disbelief? One only needs to go to the textbooks, the Science Channel, the National Geographic Channel, PBS, the History Channel and the Discovery Channel, to see evolutionary thinking is rife.
Ralph believes no matter a young or old earth, there has not been enough time for evolution. We are without excuse, there is a Creator; He has manifested himself.
Wish you well
Scott
Building or burning bridges?.......2006-09-22
I found it amusing that a reviewer, Pattyo, states that anyone giving this book four or more stars must have a low IQ. Pattyo, what's your IQ? Feel comfortable posting that on the Internet for everyone to see? What advanced degrees do you hold, that you can make such a bold statement without actually providing any evidence from the book (or anywhere else) to suggest that all the evidence contained within is simplistic and unworthy of an intelligent person's attention? Is name-calling really the best you can do? How sad for you.
Dangerously misleading!.......2005-08-08
That's it! It really scares me that people can read this stuff and not question the validity of the material being presented. I generally read books with an open mind... different religions, god(s), worldviews etc; but this book is an insult to anyones intelligence. I'm seriously considering writing a book about religion, because it apparently doesn't matter how much filth, lies, half-truths, and bogus science you put in there people will still buy it! Yes, I'm guilty too... It's one thing to have faith, but at least keep at least a little sense of your reason while doing so! It's probably safe to say that people that rate 4 or higher on this book have a lower IQ than the average. Apparently fancy writing is all it takes to get people to believe in anything. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR REASON FOLKS!
Even less reason and science than similar creationist drivel.......2005-04-20
Like virtually all other faith based attacks on evolution and promotion of intelligent design or other creationisms, this book presents no evidence or reasoned argument against evolution. Instead it resorts to absurd distortions of fact, logic and probability theory to construct a fallacious case only believable to the scientifically illiterate.
The authors assumptions and conclusions are insupportable via any of the branches of mathematics and science he distorts for his faith based ideological cause.
This book does provide clear evidence of something, namely that the anti-evolution and ID movement are fully willing to destroy the publics understanding of science and reasoned inquiry itself since they cannot find legitimate rational grounds for their attacks.
The real problem with the Theory of Evolution..........2005-02-19
... is not necessarily that Intelligent Design offers a much more rational and scientific explanation for the origin of life. As Muncaster explains, the real enemies of Evolution are the sciences of mathematical probability and microbiology. This book takes the Theory of Evolution apart piece by piece by exposing it to the hard light of scientific and mathematical review. As a result, Evolutionary theory is revealed as a complete fraud. Every Christian apologist should commit large portions of this book to memory.

Too bad the essence of Rome can't be bottled and exported to a corner store near you. If it could, you could pick up a weekend's worth of Rome along with your pint of milk and Snickers bar, and you'd probably never get to repainting the stairs, doing the laundry, or watching that new video release. Instead you'd be gawking at St. Peter's, ogling the Temple of Vesta, devouring saltimbocca in a trattoria, and sipping Sangiovese at a wine bar. You might not even get to the Snickers bar. Okay, DK never said they're trying to bottle Rome. But they do a stand-up job of imbuing their guidebook with the spirit, attitude, and élan of Rome. They don't just provide information about where to stay and what to do when you're there (though they do, in fact, provide all those necessary details), they go beyond the pragmatic and mundane to revel in Rome's glory. They stimulate the appetite for a Roman holiday. The gorgeous pictures and engaging text draw you in. They inspire you to read and dream, set your travel date, and visit Rome for real. --Stephanie Gold
Book Description
This book divides central Rome into 16 areas and has further sections for sights on the outskirts of the city; including some day trips as well as some suggested walks. Each of the main areas has its own chapter and contains a selection of sights that convey some of its history and distinctive character. The bird's-eye view maps, photographs, 3-D aerial views of Rome's most interesting districts, the floor plans of all the major sights and the huge selection of hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues separate this guide from all of the rest. The Eyewitness Travel Guide helps you to get the most from your stay in Rome.

Eyewitness Top 10 Guides Are the Best!.......2007-09-27
If you are traveling to a city and spending only a short time (3 or less days) you need nothing more than an Eyewitness Top 10 Guide. I will never go anywhere without one. It categorizes and boils things down, but the print is large enough to read. If you will be spending longer in your destination (for instance you are studying abroad) you will want a more comprehensive guide. Don't hesitate to buy any of the Eyewitness Top 10 Guides -- I have 3 of them.
BEST BOOK YOU COULD HAVE.......2007-09-12
IF YOU INTEND TO GO TO ROME THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU ANSWERS ALL YOU COULD ASK
excellent book.......2007-08-07
the top 10 guides are the greatest books for traveling. they give the top 10 of everything you would like to know-sights, resturants, hotels. we traveled through europe and book several different types of books and the top 10 were our favorites! some of the info is a little off like the hours of the collsium and the prices of somethings so i would confirm
The Gold Standard for Travel Guides.......2007-07-30
Lavishly illustrated and easy to follow. Presents a logical division of the city and groups attractions accordingly. Information is accurate and up-to-date. Clearly it's a popular guidebook, as evidenced by the number of Americans visibly carrying it in the city. Pair it with Frommer's Italy and you're covered.
Gave great advice.......2007-07-23
This little book was our bible on a recent trip to Rome. I will always be grateful that DK included San Clemente in their top 10. This amazing little church is like a layer cake of fascinating things to see. The street level is a lovely 12th century church with beautiful floors, columns, and frescoes. Underneath is an excavated 4th century church that includes a frescoe with the first sentence ever written in Italian: "Fili de le pute traite", or "Pull, you sons of whores!" I kid you not. This level also includes the tomb of Saint Cyril, creator of the Cyrillic alphabet, and a wonderful tombstone with a pagan inscription on one side, and on the other, an early Christian inscription -- it was recycled! They have it set up so you can flip it over to see both sides. Finally, the bottom level has ancient ruins, including a Mithraic (pagan) shrine.
The only time the book let us down was its recommendation of Da Augusto, a restaurant in Trastevere. This was their #1 listing under "Cheap Eats" for Trastevere but it was the only unappetizing food we were served in our whole trip.

Too small to read.......2007-09-26
We will be going to Rome soon, but we will not carry this item in our luggage. Why? It looks like good data but we could not read the tiny print. We had to pull out a magnifying glass to read anything. I am dissappointed.

Customer Reviews:
Great guide.......2006-09-25
My edition of the Mini Rough Guide to Rome is a book, so I don't have any of the previous reviewer's gripes about buying a computer program. I used this guide when I visited Rome for a week or so in 2001 and again last year in 2005 when I lived in Rome for over a month. It's full of accurate, interesting information that covers every aspect of the city. As always with the Rough Guides, cultural and historical contexts are explained, good maps and building plans are given, and it's a pleasure to read. The guide is well organised, which is necessary since there is no way you'll see everything there is to see, or even everything you'd like to see, in just one visit to Rome (even if it lasts a month). All in all, a great guide.
Got lots of free time to waste?.......2004-05-10
The unfortunate problem with this book is it is on the MS Reader platform. This means you are about to buy hours of frustration. "Just download the book-Oh, by the way,you might need this free program called Microsoft reader." It doesn't mention all the hoops you have to jump through as Microsoft manipulates you into having to sign up for a lot of other things you don't want, always with the dangling carrot that if you just spend another hour dealing with error messages and malfunctioning servers you may actually be able to download your book. If you are bored, this can keep you occupied for hours, maybe days. On the other hand, if you actually want to read the book, stick with ebooks in the Acrobat reader version-you just download the reader (not forced to download and sign up for a bunch of stuff you don't want) and you might have some time to read. Better yet, stick to paper-it has worked for over a thousand years.

One of the very Best guides on Rome by DK Eyewitness.......2004-06-11
DK Eyewitness Travel Guides books are synonymous with Quality. Their quality reminds me of the quality that Whitman put into their Story Hour Series books that my dad has from when he was a kid. I have seen other DK books and they really do make a quality product. The high-quality paper they print on makes the photographs and text appear brilliant. This tour book on Rome contains just about everything you can think of and then more. Places to visit, places to dine, maps, hotels, history, currency, transportation and much more are all attractively detailed. This is a great book if you are thinking about or are planning a trip to Rome. Even if you are not taking a trip this is a good book about the city and culture. I highly recommend Dorling Kindersley (DK) books.
