Useful and Easy to Understand.......2007-10-07
I am currently in the process of creating my own LLC at the time writing this review. The book is very helpful to understand the process and the things I will have to worry about from a legal and also tax perspective. I hired a lawyer for the company creation before I bought the book and have now the feeling that I could be doing it without paying a lawyer. However, the book made me realize that there is a lot of paperwork involved in the process and the lawyer will do all that work for me, which saves me a lot of time.
I am currently very busy preparing everything for the daily business operation to come so I do not regret my decision of using a lawyer. If time is not too much of a problem, but saving the cost for a good corporate lawyer is, this book will be able to help you to get the process done by yourself.
For people like me, who use a lawyer is the book still helpful, because there are a lot of things to consider and know about, after your LLC was created. It will serve me well in the years to come. I am sure about that.
Quick easy read, Great Information!.......2007-08-05
I read this whole book on a flight from Miami to Seattle. I had just started an LLC through a Lawyer and wanted to get an idea of how to put together the Operating Agreement. This book had a great Operating Agreement example in the back. It also had simple examples for each scenario that helped me understand the best type of LLC set-up for my business. Nolo's Quick LLC covered everything I needed to know in an easy format to read and reference. After reading, I felt I was able to discuss my ideas intelligently with my lawyer and ask him questions I would have never thought of before.
An excellent manual essential not only to business owners.......2007-07-07
Most in business have learned the term 'limited liability company' - but few know what this means, let alone how to tailor a business as a LLC and to understand if and when such a structure would apply. NOLO'S QUICK LLC, 4TH EDITION provides all the basics to operating an LLC, from choosing different structures and understanding differences between a LLC and a corporation to handling legal and tax paperwork. The result is an excellent manual essential not only to business owners, but to business libraries seeking an easy yet comprehensive reference.
Informative, Provides a Framework, A Bit Conservative.......2007-02-12
Having just established my own Limited Liability Company (LLC), I wanted a book that would define what a LLC is in the framework of other business models, including tax and legal implications. I wanted to ensure that a LLC was the best fit for me. That is exactly what this book did, and it did it well.
If you are thinking of starting your own business an a LLC, but are not sure of which business model to use (Sole Propertiorship, LLC, Parternship, S-Corp, C-Corp), this book will help inform you of the pros and cons of LLCs, and how they fit into the overall legal and tax structure.
The only reason I rated this book at 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is that it scared me a bit in regards to the legal and tax requirements, without providing enough detail to give me a grasp on why the requirements were in effect. Having also been in contact with a certified tax expert and accountant while I was reading this book, I learned that this book errs on the side of being very conservative, or even a bit scary, in regards to legal and tax requirements. So I would advise anyone who gets this book to also balance it out by reading a more aggressive book about saving money on taxes and operating an LLC legally.
After reading this book, I also read "Your Limited Liability Company, An Operating Manual" by the same author. That book provides in depth detail on the day-to-day running of an LLC. It helped me tremendously. However, this book is also conservative when it comes to saving money on taxes.
Overall, both books are great reads.
Very Helpful Book, Helped Me Decide That An LLC Is Right For ME!.......2006-12-04
This book was not a disappointment by any means. I wanted to learn if forming an LLC was right for me and by the end of reading the book, I knew it was. Nolo's book was surprisingly easy to read and understand. Although the writer is a lawyer, he writes in every day speak and makes the concepts as easy to understand as possible. The book is also more entertaining then one might think. The only thing I would have liked to see as part of this book is a step by step list of who to contact to form the LLC including any forms or at least a link to forms you would need to complete the task. Overall, if you want to learn about LLC's and decide if the business form is right for you, then this is the right book to choose.

Color Mixing.......2007-02-12
Very good for all types of artists. It even has inks for us printmakers!!!
Enjoyable.......2004-03-12
I enjoyed this book very much. It was simple to understand and quite interesting. I'm sure it's not the end all in color mixing books, but it is not a bad one at all.
A great book to start with.......2004-02-16
I've just started oil painting, and this book proved invaluable in helping me sort out the many, many different kinds of paint with their exotic names out there. I generally like to jump in and just experiment, but when I discovered the high price of good oil paints, I decided I needed a little book knowledge first. This book costs about the same as a good tube of paint, and saved me from buying many colors that, before reading the book, I didn't realize I wouldn't really need (at least to start with). It's one of clearest, most concise books I've read (on any subject). Every word is one of wisdom. If you're new to mixing paint, or having trouble figuring it out, get this book (it doesn't really cover HOW to paint though).
A True Labor Saving Book.......2003-06-02
The first thing I always did with a new set of paints was create color swatches and mixes. Now that my paint sets are more expensive I hate to waste paint on swatches that I'll probably put in some "safe" location in the studio...never to be seen again. Here I can reference swatches of commonly used colors, opaque and transparent in a range of media. Sidaway also includes the best history of pigments that I've read to date - answering a question about phthalo blue that's been bugging me for years (when was it introduced? 1936.) This book is no substitute for learning about your palette, but does provide information on how to select an appropriate palette.
Very Informative.......2003-01-03
It covered the basics of color and technical terms "hue, shade, tint" It has a section about the history of pigments and dies and what they used to be made of that is interesting. One brown paint used to be made of ground up mummies. It discusses the mixing of color in many different media.

Grown Up Birthday Gift.......2007-07-13
My friend and I have known each other since grade school. For as long as I can remember we have read the greatest children's books and collected them as well. I get teased at work, but I do not care. The workbook builds self esteem for young girls and is a fun activity you can do with your best friend, even 20 years later, 1000 miles apart. As fun as Mad Libs, as creative as Dahl and as quirky as Sachar....Children's books such as this brings you back to that special place that you thought you could never find again. So adults, go for it! No one needs to know....I know I won't tell ;O)
Klutz has done it again.......2007-06-12
As a parent, I am so pleased with Klutz's product line. I've probably purchased 5 or 6 Klutz items over the years and my kids (2 sons & 1 daughter) have really loved each one of them.
This "It's All About Me" title was no different. It's interesting, engaging, and smart. It peaked my daughters interest and has a lot of replay value (she uses the quizzes on her friends as well). The author has made the quizzes and activities relevent to a school-age girls without being Too Darn Girly. Both my older and younger son found it interesting and fun. (My older son, although slightly embarrassed, thought the book was interesting....because it really was.)
Good job Klutz.
WHAT A BLAST!!!.......2006-08-04
This book is extremely awesome!!!! I gave it to my friend for her birthday and now I'm ordering one for me!!! My friend and I had such a great time doing quizes at her house!!! I'm SOOOOOO GLAD I ordered this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's All About Me: Personality Quizzes for You & Your Friends.......2006-07-05
This cute, thoughtfully-written quiz book is not only fun for pre-teen girls, but also a good tool for parents, their children & friends to get to know each other. I actually took it to my ailing 94-yr old mother's bedside, and we took some of the quizes together and learned alot about each other!
woderful fun and crazy.......2006-03-28
I absoulutely recomend this to girsls 10+. I have it and it made me laugh soooo hard. this book is a quiz book. not a diary.it has quizzes like what kind of cookie are you, how psychic are you, are you a dork, what kind of artist bare you, etc. I took this to school and EVERY one of my friends LOVED it! You'll miss out if you don't buy it.
Book Description
Shock jock. Curmudgeon. New York's Dirty Little Secret. Morning Mouth. Radio's first bad boy. All of these have been used to describe John Donald Imus Jr.--and all of them are squarely on target. For over twenty-five years, Don Imus has been spewing his own antic brand of venom over the nation's airwaves, at times entertaining nearly fifteen million listeners a week.
Imus's rocky road to glory is recounted for the first time in Everything Imus. Author Jim Reed, who hosts one of the most successful Imus Web sites on the Internet, has crafted a lighthearted but in-depth profile of one of radio's most controversial personalities. Named one of Time magazine's 25 Most Influential People of l997, Imus has had more than his share of career ups and downs. From U.S. Marine to starving musician, Imus made it to the top of the broadcast heap in just four years. Along the way, he battled serious drug and alcohol abuse before becoming America's favorite acid-tongued shock jock.
Everything Imus chronicles Imus's public battles with politicians from both parties, including his skewering of President Clinton at the Washington Radio and Television Correspondent's Dinner in l996--which propelled the Imus show to "must-hear" status.
Everything Imus is certain to attract attention from the I-Man himself in view of his recent formation of a book club similar to Oprah Winfrey's. Unauthorized, hugely entertaining, and often laugh-out-loud funny, Everything Imus is sure to become a hit.
Customer Reviews:
A Good Read for I-Fans!.......2000-06-15
OK so it's not a pulitzer prize winner, but so what? Mr. Reed's book is written for the true Imus fan without the fancy words and long-winded accounts that make some books boring. If you like the Don Imus show, this book is a must. It takes you behind the scenes, introduces the cast of characters, as well as revisits Don's past. It's well researched and an enjoyable read.
Not worth the money.......2000-02-05
Being an Imus fan I was looking for something a little more substatnial than this. If you're interested in the book, go to the library and check it out. Don't bother buying it,
Will The Real Don Imus Please Stand Up.......1999-09-01
In my humble opinon this book does not even touch the mean streak and obnoxiousness that was Don Imus during the 60's and 70's as a former intern at WNBC there are many things that the author of this book either did not know about the real Don Imus or did know but did not publish it.
An insult to the written word.......1999-08-27
Sure, I'm an I-fan. Okay, maybe there are some tidbits of trivia in this book that are of some interest. However, this has to be one of the worst-written books ever to see the light of day. As intriguing as the subject matter might be, Jim Reed has done no favors for Don Imus by producing this terribly written book. Don't waste your time or money. Just listen to WFAN and get it from the horse's mouth (or other part of the anatomy).
Outstanding summary of the career of radio icon Don Imus.......1999-07-06
Jim Reed does an outstanding job writing about the career of radio legend Don Imus. This book is one of those that once you pick up, you cannot put it down. I am a seven year listener of the Imus in the Morning show and Reed told me things about Imus and his career I never knew about. Great behind the scenes stories about Imus , his crew and the people at MSNBC, who do a daily television program of the radio show.
I wish Jim Reed much success with this book and encourage all fans of the Imus in the Morning program to read this book.

The Cat and company travel by hot air balloon up and into various weather phenomena including rain, snow, thunder, tornadoes, and (yikes!) even hurricanes! Along the way they learn about thermometers, anemometers, wind vanes, cloud formations, humidity, fog, smog, weather folklore, and how to stay safe in lightning. Written and illustrated in Seussian style, this a great addition to the Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library!

Happy Grandson.......2006-07-08
My grandson was very happy with this book. He loves reading books by Dr. Seuss and knows when he comes to Grandma's house a new one will be waiting for him. The book was presented as "used" but it looks brand new! Delivery time was as promised. Only negative comment for all the used books I have purchased thus far is that the postage charged has been far more than the book.
Excellent intro to weather concepts.......2004-10-25
I think this is one of the best of the books in Cat in the Hat's Learning Library. In this book, the rhymes are crisp and interesting. Some of the concepts introduced/covered include: meteorologists, weather maps, clouds, evaporation, condensation, snow, rain, thunder, lightning, tornadoes, and climatology. This book covers a lot in the simple and effective Cat in the Hat style.
Book Description
Ever since his astonishing victory in the 1991 PGA Championship, John Daly, known affectionately on the PGA Tour as "Big 'Un," has enthralled fans with his big drives, bigger personality, and "Grip It and Rip It" approach to golf -- and to life.
Long John, usually seen with a Marlboro Light dangling from his lip, is the unchained, unpredictable, unapologetic bad boy of professional golf. "The only rules I follow," JD likes to say, "are the Rules of Golf."
Daly's play-it-as-it-lays approach drives My Life in and out of the Rough, a thrillingly -- and sometimes shockingly -- candid memoir of a larger-than-life athlete battling assorted addictions (alcohol, gambling, chocolate, sex), his weight, and, perhaps worst of all, divorce lawyers. (He's been married four times.)
A two-time major winner before he turned thirty, John Daly is one of the most popular athletes in the world. Taking readers with him off the fairway and into his $1.5-million motor home for a rollicking ride through his life -- an ever-churning world of booze, burgers, casinos, country music, and breathtaking moonshots -- Daly reveals how a down-home Everyman from Arkansas managed to rise to the peak of the golf world, escape from the depths of abject depression, and, finally, take control of his life.
Well, sort of.
Customer Reviews:
This book carries the same excitement as watching John tee it up on Sunday.......2007-08-07
First off I must tell you that I am a fan of John Daly and his incredible natural talents. This book uncovered every detail of John's life from a kid, through two major wins, and onto where he is today. I enjoyed every page and was glad to see John tell it like it is. This book is an easy read, partly because it carries a 4th grade reading level. However, the book does a good job of revealing all the truths. Yes, most readers may have different views on John's alcoholic dependance, but one thing is for sure John didn't hide the details. If you are a fan of John or find yourself amused by watching his up and down golf game, then this book is for you!
Good Read.......2007-07-01
John Daly has interested me for a long time. I suppose the
whole under-dog thing, going up against the odds, etc. But
I really enjoyed reading this book. Thought it was an easy read
and well written since it was refreshingly naked in terms of
a person just showing all there is to show. I would recommend
it especially since it is so opposite of the whole stuffy
professional golf player fraternity.
Gutsy self-deprecation.......2007-06-03
I have to say that after reading some of the reviews, I'm almost ashamed to write my own. But unlike some of the reviews, I'll spare you any moral soapboxing on my part and not judge the man. Quite simply, the book sheds considerable light on the life (both the good and the bad) of a guy who happens to be a well-known professional golfer. Kudos to John for having the courage to share much of his private life with the public. John's not a saint and doesn't pretend to be (and pretty much says so in the book). He candidly admits to a plethora of self destructive indulgences and decisions yet balances such with discussion about many of his commendable deeds. His honesty is refreshing. He talks about sex, love, alcohol, anger, guilt, determination, etc. He's human for God's sake!
I gave it four stars because it's an easy read and is written in a style suitable for the content. And if you're interested in learning about the life of John Daly, the content serves its purpose quite well. It's both entertaining and informative. It's not meant to win a literary prize. I enjoyed it for what it is - a good book.
Addictive Behaviour?.......2007-03-23
Entertaining easy to read book but not very likely to fetch a Nobel Prize.
Interesting why Daly would want to make reference to several incidents of drunken driving and sad that he doesn't seem to feel particularly responsible for many of his own actions as an adult.
In my opinion the book reflects a considerable amount of raw untreated addictive behaviour and it kept me sober for a few days, thanks John.
Probably more than I wanted to know.......2007-02-08
Daly doesn't hold a lot back when he authorizes his tell-alls. He also is not concerned too much about public perception. He is definitely one of the more colorful characters in professional golf. The book is a no holds barred account of many of his life experiences, good and bad. I am an avid golfer, and a fan of Daly's, and enjoyed reading the book.
Book Description
Studies show that one in five of us worries too much about our health. In fact, pervasive worry over preserving health or preventing disease can _itself_ become a disorder, one with very real physical and emotional consequences. The condition is known as health anxiety, and it often leads people to misinterpret minor symptoms and normal bodily sensations as the warning signs of a serious disease. In It's Not All in Your Head, health psychologists Drs. Gordon Asmundson and Steven Taylor encourage readers to consider whether excessive worry may be their greatest cause for concern. This straightforward and effective self-help program teaches sufferers how the physical side effects of anxiety--like muscle tension, nausea, or a quickened heart rate--may compound their sense that something is wrong. For anyone whose personal life or career has been disrupted by health anxiety--and for their caring yet frustrated loved ones--this compassionate, nonjudgmental, and practical book may be just what the doctor ordered.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent !!.......2006-03-21
None of the other books listed by Amazon sounded like they dealt with health anxiety, so I tried this one. It is EXCELLENT!!! It is very thorough and simple to understand. It has wonderful tips to use as well as suggestions on how to work with doctors and when to get additional help. Not much is written for the regular person on health anxiety, so this is a very valuable resource. Health anxiety is a form of anxiety in which the person worries excessively about his health and bodily sensations. Going to the doctor repeatedly for assurance does not help because you can get addicted to the reassurance! By the time you get home from the doctor after he tells you that you are fine, you have convinced yourself that he must have made some type of error or omission of tests, and you are super worried all over again! This book uses cognitive behavior therapy to help break the cycle of worry and fear over symptoms.

Great for teaching health and fitness.......2007-08-13
Great, fun book for young children. Wonderful way to introduce young ones to the ideas of eating right and staying fit so they can be healthy and strong. I will be using it in a preschool age classroom but my own children would have really enjoyed this one.
Staying healthy and self esteem.......2007-07-14
Some really important messages in this Seuss style beginner book including
the importance of hygiene, exercise, good nutrition, body safety, recognising and talking about own feelings, everyone is special and unique.
Sometimes the rhymes lose a bit of their rhythm, but overall I think it is a fair adaption of Seuss style, but most importantly it is a fun way to begin concepts of taking care and valuing yourself with young children.
cute and fun but out of date.......2006-11-10
The book is great and has wonderful healthy positive messages. My kids love it and ask to read it over and over. The only dissapointment is that it still has one page with the old food guide pyramid.
Oh the things you can do that are good for you.......2005-12-10
I like this book because it taught me all different things when i was littler. Like how to brush my teeth, floss, wash my hands, wash my hair, get exercise, how to deal with a cold, the right food to eat, and how its important at the end of the day to get your rest. This book taught me so much and im thankful for that.

Cauliflower in the Hat.......2005-10-18
My kids (boys 8 and 5) still ask to hear this book at bedtime at least once every couple of weeks, so obviously the intended audience enjoys this. My own objections -- having read the thing aloud to said kids at least 100 times -- are largely aesthetic. The rhymes in this book are either strained
It can travel five feet
and blasts out with great power
at speeds over one hundred
miles an hour!
or facile (the Garoo in Fadoo tell me true, they do - just like you!) to a degree that bugs me as a Seuss fan.
To be fair, this problem turns up throughout the Learning Library series, not just in the volumes written by Tish Rabe. When you have to cover every health issue under the sun short of cancer and addiction (or every dinosaur or aspect of plant reproduction), it's probably pretty rough to hold a rhyme scheme and use words that kids can understand. Rabe does a respectable enough job at it that -- well, guess what the little Dinos want to hear again tonight?

Customer Reviews:
Very Informative...sheds some light on how the system works.......2005-12-27
I would say that overall this book is an excellent reference for anyone thinking of getting into the Film and TV business. This book breaks down and provides samples of contracts, terms, negotiating points, how to break into the industry, and plenty of other information in regards to Hollywood. I'd say the "meat and potatoes" of the book lie in the last few chapters about negotiating and where the money goes, but it's great.
The only issues I have with this book is that 1) It's mostly directed towards actors. I am an up and coming producer/director, and even though much of the content was still relevant to my interests, the authors are primarily writing to inform actors. 2) The book is for the most part LA-centric. The authors make sure you know this from the book's foreward. I am a New Yorker!
I would definitely recommend this for anyone interested in an above the line position on a movie production.
Great, simple and informative book........2005-08-13
I usually don't write reviews but I was very happy with the information in this book and the flow of everything. Not a lot of non-useful information and fancy writing skills - just the facts in plain english and to the point. A great overview and understanding of the movie and television business for beginners.
Just what I needed.
Thanks,

An Actor's Guide to surviving Los Angeles.......2000-11-28
This book is definetly a beginning actor's guide. It focused primarily on the acting business for someone who is new to Hollywood. It was helpful in understanding some other roles in the movie business which are not as pretty, but overall I found it informative but lacking what it really takes to land a first job in TV or film. If you know nothing about the business...this book is for you.
Truly Everything You Need To Know.......1999-11-04
This is a phenomenal guide to the different positions in the film industry. From the small to the big screen, to the credits that roll by unnoticed and unregarded, this book covers every position with a description of each. There is a chapter on contracts. Another on directing. Another on acting. Another on producing. Virtually a plethora of information, and a must-must-read for anyone going into, or interested in television or movies.
