Bently Mini Cooper Service Manual.......2007-01-09
This is an excellent resource for the novice and experienced individual interested in knowing more about their mini. The information and instructions are detailed and references to appropriate tools are included.
This book is very valuable to someone who lives a long distance from an authorized dealer, but would like to maintain their mini. Level 1 and 2 inspections are thoroughly explained along with many technical tips.
As an experience car restorer and motorsports enthusiast, this manual was one of the best encountered.
Mini Cooper 2003.......2007-01-04

This book give you step by step how to do it.
Also tell you how to reset the electronic parts.

Mini Service Manual its a MUST HAVE!.......2006-11-13
I own a Mini Cooper S 2004 and this book is a really life saver. It show you how to do from a basic service to a more deep one. It has very detailed ilustrations and its a MUST HAVE. I Recommend it!
Must have for the serious MINI owner.......2006-03-22
I purchased this book prior to converting my 2002 MCS to a showroom stock car.
My first step was to remove the supercharger.
If you have worked on your MCS, you know that the supercharger appears to be the 1 part the rest of the car was built around.
The details in the manual are very clear, and the steps are logical and they even include short cuts.
You also get the part numbers, wiring diagrams, and everything you need to really know the car and fix it yourself.
This is NOT a chilton/hayes Manual.
IT HAS DETAIL!!!!
From brake jobs, to engine removal, to speaker installs, this is the single best "mod" you can buy for your MCS.
The Mini Cooper Bible Period!.......2006-02-23
If you do any type of work on your mini buy this book. Everyone from beginners to shadetree DIYers to experienced automotive techs could use this book.

Excellent Literacy Resource For Teachers........2007-06-03
I learned about this book at a workshop on reading and literacy in my district last year. I checked it out from my local teaching library and after 3 renewals and a bunch of late notices later I realized I never wanted to return it! I had my own copy two days later. I use this book every week in the classroom. Mr. Gallagher developed a resource that kids can relate to because it was written in part (or at least inspired by) his students. There are 40 mini lessons that are broken down into 9 categories of why reading is important. They are very interesting and they made the kids think. I noticed as the year went on I saw many more novels and magazines appearing in my class as the year went on. Buy this book. You won't be disappointed!
Reading Reasons.......2007-01-22
Fantastic book! I'd recommend it to all elementary and English teachers. It has many useful and motivational ideas to use.
Great book for motivation for reading!.......2007-01-16
The lessons in this book are wonderful. It gives students a practical reason for reading. It is the kind of book you can read and immediately put it into practice. You don't have to sit back for weeks and figure out how to incorporate it. It's all there right in front of you. I want to hear more from Gallagher!!!
Reading Reasons by Gallagher.......2006-06-27
Reading Reasons is a great resource. It provides reasearch and lesson activities from someone who deals with students on a daily basis -- a teacher! The book is very user friendly.
a MUST for all teachers!.......2004-10-23
As a middle school Reading teacher for 14 years, I have been exposed to more theories than I can count on how to get kids to read and improve their skills. In the last few years, the focus has been on specific reading strategies--teaching them to students to help them improve their comprehension.
I see now that a major piece of the puzzle has been missing. We are so focused on teaching kids HOW to read that we have forgotten to teach them WHY they should read. Those of us who are good readers do not need any such convincing. Increasingly more students, however, do not see any value in reading and therefore do not do it, or do not do it well.
Gallagher's book outlines nine reasons WHY students need to read and read well. They are set up in the format of mini-lessons to teach directly to students. The lessons are simple and would appeal to most students. Throughout the book there is great insight, and there is also a lot of great advice for setting up a true reading-inspiring classroom.
I have shelves full of reference books on reading. This is the one I will go back to again and again.

Customer Reviews:
Great lessons for immediate use.......2007-07-15
This book contains transcripts and activities of lessons taught in conjunction with specific examples of children's lit. The transcripts show how the intended activity emerges. Some planning would be necessary to have these books on hand, or similar examples could be substituted. Overall, I think this will be a great book to use with my class.
Good Resource.......2007-01-19
Book is full of excellent resources. I used it with my fifth graders and they enjoyed the lessons. My only wish is there would be more lessons for each of the traits.
Best writing book I've ever used!.......2005-11-10
I am a third grade teacher of mostly at-risk students (English Lang. Learners and low socio-economic students). I was frustrated with the format of most writing instruction books. They were boring or hard to follow. I also wanted to incorporate the 6 traits of writing into my lessons, so when I saw this book, I thought I would try it.
I love how Sloan walks you through each lesson, what to say, what to do. The lessons are simple to understand and give for the teacher and the students.
It incorporates read-alouds of real books at the beginning of each lesson and shows how it ties in to what you're teaching.
My students were better writers from the very first lesson!
Amazing Book.......2005-09-30
This book is a great teaching tool. Within days of receiving it, I had already used several lessons. My class loves the lessons. I've also seen an improvement already in their writing. I have a class of second lang. learners. If it can work for them, it can work for anyone.
Book Description
Paul Conte and Mike Cravitz have written the must-have guide to SQL for AS/400 application developers. SQL/400 Developer's Guide is an authoritative book that will help you create and manipulate comprehensive, complex, professional-quality SQL/400 databases. The textbook covers database and SQL fundamentals, SQL/400 Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML), and database modeling and design. Coding suggestions reinforce the topics covered and provide practical advice on how to produce robust, well-functioning code.
Customer Reviews:
Review of SQL/400 Guide.......2006-08-29
Got the equavalent of what it cost me after about 5 minutes. Great reference and have just recently started at chapter 3 for in-depth how to instructions.
Well written.
Most everything you need for SQL on the iSeries.......2006-07-19
This book is fairly comprehensive. There were just a few topics I would have liked to have seen more on. All in all, it really helped me get the job done.
Good practical book to learn SQL on iSeries.......2004-10-13
This book was just what I needed. I'm an RPG programmer who has to learn SQL for a new application we're developing. Found most of what I needed here.
Used it the day I got it.......2001-09-25
I had a vendor in the day this came to work. He asked me if I had a good SQL book and I replied, "Let's find out" and opened the box. It was perfect for what we needed. I have used it several times and it is easy to read. Being new at SQL on the 400, I am a little frustrated with the index. I was trying to figure out how to substring and couldn't find a reference anywhere. Twice I have had to forego the book and ask another person.
It is a great learning tool and I'm very glad I bought it.
SQL for the 400/iSeries Cool!.......2001-05-10
SQL the standard for data access is now presented in a AS400/iSeries user format. The differences that exist for the DB2/400 user are minor but significant enough to warrant 500 pages plus.
Conte and Cravitz flood the text with real working examples that hit homeruns with the IBM midrange user. Yet, minus the sprinkling of RPG/ILE & Cobol code any DB2 user would find the text extremely helpful.
Keep this book at the ready since it's a "quick grab" when questions come up regarding triggers, UDF's or Database Modeling and design.
The Book is a great starting point for the AS400/iSeries guru looking to open their database to the outside world. With a solid SQL footing the JDBC mountain is a much easier climb.
Conte & Cravitz keep up the great work!
Customer Reviews:
very cute, corny... but cute.......2007-05-19
I work in a small cubical and wanted something inexpensive and small to fiddle with, this fit the bill.
Granted, there are hardly any pebbles and mine even leaks a little... but I bought 3 mini kits (all different) for $5.00 at a local book store.
It does what I wanted and pretty much expected it to do; put a little smile on my face when I deal with customers on the phone all day. For basically $1.66, it's worth it to me.
I wouldn't buy it at the asking price on here, but if you find one at a clearance price like I did, I'd say go for it!
High 'Giggle Factor ' leaves you all wet!!.......2004-01-22
I am a Book Store groupie, someone point me to the self help group please. As I was checking out one day and I saw all these cutey patutey little mini whatevers while standing in line. All kinds mind you: mini fondue, mini budda, mini guide to fenge shui, and then I saw it the 'mini water garden kit'. I immediately had to have it.
Now, I don't know about other people, but let's be realistic; it's a counter item, last stop shopping to the check out, a fun diversion in a 2 and a half inch box. Can we say cheap scale novelty items for suckers like me!
Okay I opened it and the giggle fest began. It wasn't the 5 rocks in the heatsealed plastic baggy or the plastic container
to hold my water and rocks that sent me into crying giggling fits of laughter. The giggle fit started at the sight of the miniture hand pump to make the water gurgle and spray.............I just about wet myself giggling at my fully functional, MANUAL, mini water garden.
If nothing else you will have a good laugh and that is worth everything!
girldiver:)
Waste of money!.......2003-01-14
I have to agree with some of the other reviewers: this was a complete waste of money! Not only was it ugly (not enough stones, obtrusive cord/hand pump) but when you squeezed the fountain hand pump, the water shot right onto the table. This did not invoke tranquility!! There's no way to adjust the angle of the stream of water, either, unless you prop something under the fountain cup. And the book that comes with the fountain has so little content that you can "read" the entire thing in about 12 seconds.
Save yourself the aggravation... don't buy this! The sound of (literally) flushing your $ down the toilet would probably be more relaxing than this... and the net result is the same.
i enjoy mine customized with "gems" bought elsewhere.......2003-01-04
i read the other reviews and quite honestly did not expect much. but when i got it home it had 2 bags of rocks (much more than the 5 rocks the other reviewers received) but still not enough to cover the cup. since reading the other reviews i had not expected the cup to be full so i had previously gone out and bought a couple of "gem" rocks to put in it anyway. u are probably wondering how this works. it is not a plug or batteries. there is a small hand pump on it. it would be great if they could make it with batteries somehow but it is cute and nice to have around the office in small spaces.
complete waste of money.......2003-01-01
The mini water garden kit is definately not what the back of the box said it was. It looks alot better on the box and it certainly doesn't make relaxing water sounds, and I would never take it to work or on the road with me. The only good part about the kit is the book and you could probally get a great book for a few more bucks that is full sized, and has alot more info. Don't waste your money on this, you'll regret it!

Customer Reviews:
Good books, but a couple of warnings.......2007-10-16
My 3 year old likes these books and can recognize paintings by each of the four artists in this set. She especially loves Monet. Each page contains a painting and a few lines of poetry that correspond to it.
I have two warnings for parents considering purchasing this set.
First, the authors list the names of the paintings at the back of each book in the order they appear in that book. At least that is what the authors claim. The list in the Van Gogh book, however, is out of order.
Second, and more important, the Matisse book has two paintings with nudes: Music, 1910 and Dance II, 1909-10. Parents might want to google these paintings to decide if they are appropriate for their family or at least to prepare to answer questions such as "Why are those people naked?"...a question my daughter posed to me.
These two issues would not have kept me from buying the set, but I wish I had known them before I read the books to my daughter.
Teach about fine art in a fun and enjoyable way........2007-09-15
These are great books. We purchased our first book, Picnic with Monet when my daughter was a newborn. She is now 20 months old and she has the Mini Masters Boxed Set (a great deal) and Quiet Time With Cassat. She loves these books! She will bring them to me one-by-one and ask me to read each one over and over. I think she enjoys the lyrical quality of the text as well as the paintings. She loves pointing out the different items in each painting and commenting on what is taking place (playing, sleeping, dancing, etc.) It's interesting that even though some elements in certain paintings are rather abstract, she still knows what she is looking at. I love fine art and grew up seeing many of these paintings, so I'm glad that I can expose my daughter to the Masters in such a fun and positive way.
Great books for any age!.......2007-06-19
My daughter is 2 1/2 and she LOVES her Van Gogh book. Brings it to me all the time to read to her. In all the books there is great rhyming, short phrasing (for similarly short attention spans--great for toddlers!), and beautiful paintings.
My personal favorites are Degas and Van Gogh. I was rather let down by the Monet; I thought they chose works that didn't represent what Monet did best and was best known for, but no kid is going to care about that. They actually work together to tell a story, which is nice compared to the more randomly chosen paintings in other of these books.
The Matisse has some crazy paintings in it but they are bright and boldly colored, sure to capture a kid's attention. (Some people have complained about the two "nudes" in the Matisse book, but realistically, the figures are not anatomically detailed and in my opinion, not at all offensive or embarrassing.)
I love these because they familiarize children with famous works of art and artists without them even knowing it and the writing/poetry in the books is fun to read and keeps my daughter reading along. Highly recommended, as well as the other individually sold books (Seurat, Cassatt, Picasso, & Renoir)!
Great board books for anyone.......2007-05-17
Love the text and the images. Great introduction for any age child to get familiar with famous artwork. Both my 5 year old and my 2 year old enjoy them. The box set is also a great deal.
great set.......2007-03-19
My husband and I really enjoy sharing these books with our daughter. I had read the other reviews which raised some reservations about the Matisse nudes, but they are just very simple line drawings. If my daughter ever comments on it I think I'll just point out how art shows the beauty of the human figure.
Each of the books has a nice winding down at the end which makes them great before naps or bedtime.
Customer Reviews:
buy this and the bingo game for sight words, and you're set........2007-07-04
Very nice, cleverly put together. Finally a "beginning reader" series, "sight word reader" etc that IS indeed for beginners! there is a picture, "the" sight word and another couple of other words that the grown up can read. This helps build confidence and interest. My autistic (but normal IQ) son likes it, and it is difficult to find material for him. A safe purchase.
Great Purchase!.......2007-07-03
The literacy specialist at our local school recommended looking for "$1 Sight Word books". She had some books by Scholastic so, I started there. These books are perfect for my beginning reader. There are about 50 sight words in total in the pack. My 5-year-old can pick books by the sight words on the front. My 3-year-old can't stand to be left out so, she also reads her favorites, too.
I'd definitely recommend this pack.
Good group of books.......2007-06-27
My daughter has just started using the books and is enjoying reading them. She likes the worksheets that came with the books.
Excellent packaged product.......2007-06-24
The best way to teach children to read is to have them follow along with you with a simple, repetitive book. Each book is very thin, so the child is not bored, and jumps right alone to the next book.
The words contents are very well chosen, and I feel the illustrations are well done as well.
I want more products like this one!
Highly recommend for your 4 to 6 year old.......2007-03-08
My daughter and I read these books almost everynight. They are easy and quick to read. I highly recommend buying these for young children who are starting to show an interest in reading.

Customer Reviews:
Handy and Complete.......2005-04-30
Definitely a very good reference guide for any freshwater enthusiast. The mini-atlas has every freshwater species beautifully diplayed in color photo. Under each color photo is a group of symbols. These symbols are defined in the book itself. The symbols convey what water conditions are appropriate, size of tank, food, swimming level, breeding type and level of aggression. The mini-atlas also has separate chapters on breeding, fish diseases, aquarium plants and tank set-up.
The only negative point is that each fish is called by its scientific name. If you desire to know the common name (the name used in aquarium shops) you have to go to the back of the book and search an index of scientific names which then refers to the common name. This process is a bit cumbersome.
All in all, this book is a nice addition to one's personal freshwater library. It's very complete and I find myself referring to it often.
A disappointment........2004-08-19
From the reviews, I expected alot from this book. I know that it is old, but I was really disappointed. The information is not consistent and incomplete. Here are my issues:
(1) All the pictures are grouped (i.e. Ciclids, etc.) together followed by the complete text instead of a picture with text of each kind of fish.
(2) Everything is ordered by scientific name instead of common name. This makes the book less usefull to those who are new to freshwater fish.
(3) Compared to other books, the photographs are not that good. In fact, some of them are out of focus.
(4) The fact guide is totally useless as the information on how to intepret the what the legend means is not clear. For example, you see a temparature guide but not the upper or lower temperature.
(5) With that many pictures the book, I expected the book to focus on different species but instead there are multiple pictures of the same kinds of certain fish just because they have different color scheme.
(6) The biggest complaint that I have is that the information is not consistent and some are missing. Some pictures have both scientific and common names while others have just one name. Some have complete information, while others have partial (i.e. tank size, compatibility, etc.) or NO information at all.
If you are buying this book because you just want something to read, go ahead and buy it. However, if you are buying this book because you are new to the freshwater fish keeping and need information about different kinds of fish to choose from...this book is totally useless. Useless, I say because there are more books out there with more complete information. If you look at the index and can't find the names of the fishes that you commonly see in aquarium fish shops, then the book is useless.
Occasionally difficult, but a great reference.......2002-08-03
Need to know if a certain breed of unusual fish is compatible with, say, your angelfish? Dr. Axelrod knows. This atlas is amazing in it's depth for a "mini-atlas," with page after page of freshwater fish. And then he gets into the real meat of fishkeeping after that! Although it can occasionally be difficult to use (the fish are listed by their scientific name in general, not their common name, which can make looking up a certain fish difficult), all in all this is an incredible book, and one every fishkeeper should have on their bookshelf.
Informative.......2002-02-26
This book was great. The pictures were fantastic and it was very informative. It is simple enough for a child to use.
One of the best resources for the freshwater fish keeper........2000-12-14
This is one of my favorite books. It provides information and more importantly photos on nearly 2000 fish. The information gives you the basics about each fish, how big they get, what they eat, are they agressive, etc. But the best aspect is the photos. With over 1900 photos it is the first book I go to when I want to look up a fish. Or when I'm thinking of what to put in that empty tank I'll often browse through this book looking for neat fish.
This book gives you the most for your money!

Customer Reviews:
Good technical backgrounder.......2006-02-17
I'm a patient and not a professional. This is a fascinating technical introduction to neurofeedback, but not for people without a good grasp of psychological terminology since it's written for professionals. The information may be a bit out of date, but it gives you a good basis for understanding what is going on.
Perfect introduction.......2004-07-23
I bought this book in anticipation for an EEG rotation during my PGY-2 year of Neurology training. I wanted a book that reviewed basic concepts with only essential information. I also wanted a book with plenty of pictures. This book fulfilled those criteria perfectly.
Unlike some other EEG books I have come across, this book has plenty of actual EEG images in its mini-atlas. It is hard for the beginner to tell the difference between a Mu rhythm or a PDR just from reading a description. The mini-atlas has examples of normal EEGs, variants, artifacts and abnormal EEGs.
Another strong point is the writing style. Reading this book, you feel as though you have an experienced attending showing you the EEG; you can imagine yourself looking on as he or she teaches.
Finally, I recommend this book because I used it and, on my first day on EEG, the attending told me he was impressed by how much I knew. This book is short and can be read in one-two days. It's worth a couple days of reading to get a compliment from an attending on your first day.
I have since looked at some other good EEG and neurophysiology books, however I haven't found one with such a personable writing style or large atlas. I recommend this as the first book to be read for an EEG rotation.
