This was a fantastic book! I call it the "Cliff Notes" version of the textbook. If you're having trouble with the amount of assigned readings in your textbook, I highly recommend you get this book. My whole class is jealous that I got this book because they had to wait months for their copies.

Ruff's Little Book of Big Fortunes in Gold & Silver.......2007-09-05
Another wonderful EZ to read book by our long time advisor, Howard Ruff. The message is always the same and it is refreshing to learn that we are still on the same track or trail. I'm loaning my copy to my friends who are a bit behind times but are anxious to learn how to save themselves from the big flush and I don't mean anything about playing cards or action in the bathroom.

This is the guy who told people to stay out of stocks and plow their money into gold in the beginning of the 1980's. Right as gold peaked and went lower for a couple decades. A couple years after this sage advise, in 1982, the greatest bull market in stock market history began.
I have a confession. I read all his earlier books and subscribed to the "Ruff Times". What a dummy I was!
Good First Start.......2007-04-24
I thought the book was a good book for explaining the reasons why a person should invest in gold or silver. Ruff repeats himself several times in this short book. He probably could have reduced the book by another 30%. The book did serve a purpose for me. It left me with the desire for more knowledge about the topic. Ruff tells us where to buy the gold and silver, but doesn't explain much about how to sell it once you are ready. No information about the tax requirements etc...

This is a simple and rather short book describing how and why to invest in PM:s. Easy to read and compelling. I reccomend it to everybody who is investing or thinking about investing in PM:s.
Little book of Big Fortune is right!.......2007-03-23
This is a GREAT book for anyone who's interested in participating in the Gold (and Silver according to the author) bull market. One of the easiest-reading books I've come across on the subject, it feels like a grandfather advising you on the subject. If you want to know why to buy Gold, how to buy Gold, and what Gold to buy, this book's got it covered. The biggest surprise (at least for me) was how much greater he expects Silver to do than Gold. My reaction at the end of book was to jump on the internet and phone to get my precious metal investments squared away, and I definitely had more fun doing it after reading his book than the doom-and-gloom ones (although he recommends investing in Gold and Silver for the same reasons they do - I think they're all on to something here, Tonto). I had the added reaction of feeling more confident about the future of Gold and Silver and not worrying about their day-to-day fluctuations. I really don't think you can go wrong with this practical little book.

2 volume set is lighter to carry, so definitely opt for this one.
There are many high quality pictures illustrating various diseases that aid learning the material. Some of the pictures are scary though.
The book contains lots of medical terminology that, at times, hard to understand if the concept was not known previously.
Great Med Surg Text.......2007-04-18
I like to get to the point. This book has lots of information that is put together well. One of the best things this book did was have care plans laid out in each chapter. These basically act as a snap shot of what to look for, and the nursing interventions you would perform as a nurse. That makes studying for your exams in nursing school a little easier. My wife's nursing school used Lippincott's Med Surg book, and I have to say that compared to that text this one gets to the point much quicker. I was a little disappointed that this book glances over some of the pathophysiology (I would have preferred that it was a little more in depth here), and that it spends way too much time going over Anatomy and Physiology. All nursing students have to take a Anatomy and Physiology course not every school provides a pathophysiology class. All in all I was pleased with it. However, this book does tend to ramble from time to time.

The book is ok. Not the greatest. Our class found a lot of mistakes in this text and the publisher even sent one of us a new edition because of this. We actually recommended they ditch this books so next years students do not have to go through this txt
Another Nursing Student.......2007-04-15
I really like Lewis' Med-Surg book. It gives information needed to provide effective, safe, ethical nursing care.
It's not all about what might be on the NCLEX, you know. This text is very good about stating what you need to know for patient care, and I really found that what I read in this book was what was told to me on my clinical rotation.
I would not sell this book back even if I could because I think is the best Nursing book I have.

This is an underead book from a great trainer that is honest! I am a trainer and I use a lot of these techninues to get the spoiled dogs of the world to start listening. You can still buy this from dog wise for a reasonable price.The woman who blew it off does not have the creditals to review this book.

This book is not about relationship building. The suggestions in this book are extreme. Crating a dog 24 hrs a day...why have a dog? There are plenty of other books out there that will actually teach you how to have a better relationship with your dog. This is NOT one of them. I wish I had read the reviews before I spent money on this book.

Don't waste your money on this book. What a joke, this book isn't a relationship building program. It is more like a prison sentence for a dog. Just lock your dog up in a crate 24/7 except to allow your dog to eat and relieve him/herself (while on a leash, of course). There you have this book's "relationship buliding program" - SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!! In good conscience I wouldn't even give this book away!
Ruff Love equals Tough Love for rough dogs.......2005-09-16
Yes, this is a tough love book but if a dog may loose it's home or even it's life for want of proper manners do what is necessary to prevent it from happening. Use what is approprite to the situation and get professional help if needed.
A serious book for seriously confused dogs.......2005-06-15
No, you should not buy "Ruff Love" as a day-to-day training guide. The program in this book places serious restrictions on your dog that most dogs don't need, and most people will not have the heart or conviction to implement. The technique strips your dog of every privilege and makes him completely dependent on you (at the risk of ruining any indepence and confidence he may have...).
Why would anyone use such a program? Because every once in a while, a dog grows up with the notion (usually encouraged or at least allowed by the human) that HE is in charge of the house. Retraining this dog from the ground up may wind up saving his quality of life (such dogs often end up on a chain, locked away, or given up to a shelter) or, should he become aggressive, his life.
The author also suggests that the program be used for canine athletes to build bonding. Here I'm not in agreement; it's a pretty severe way to build co-dependence.

Lonnice is an excellent writer. The book is funny and down to earth while being honest and straight forward. Lonnice kept me laughing with stories from her own experiences from the straightening comb to the jheri curl. She provides tips on shampooing, conditioning, as well as daily maintenance. I would have liked to have seen newer twist styles but you can buy "Let's Talk Hair" by Pamela Ferrell or "Texured Tresses" by Diane Da Costa, which are both great for that.

This is great book for starters. Even though she advocates texturizers, it is a good alternative. I recommend it to anyone considering wearing their hair in its natural texture. THe styles and car instruction that she recommends can be done on texturized and natural hair so the texturizers is not really a big deal.

I bought this book years ago, after I had lost the majority of my hair to a relaxer (which had happened several times up to this point). I was fed up and knew that I couldn't continue to relax my hair and keep risking breakage, but had no idea what my options were. One day I was browsing my local bookstore and happened upon this book. It saved my hair and my sanity. Finally someone was talking to me, telling me that I didn't have to keeping doing insane things to myself in the name of beauty.
Are there better natural haircare books out there? Of course. For the negative viewers, you fail to realize that back when this book was written, there weren't many books on the market related to natural hair care. Folks weren't as receptive to letting go of the relaxer. It was good for what it offered back in the day. The author has since evolved in her own natural haircare.

I find it truely amusing that some of the reviewers out there criticize grammer, but forget to look at their own. They criticize spelling, but they don't use the dictionary. They criticize any black woman who writes a book on black hair care based on their own experiences, swear they know more, but then don't prove it by writing a book on black hair care based on their own experience. This books is a quick and informative read. It speaks to any woman who has been through the straightening combs, the grease, the burns, the chemicals...all for the sake of not just beauty. Believe me, it's not just about beauty. It's about ease of doing your hair everyday of your lives that looks good. And for those who feel justified in the "holier then thou" attitude for women who use chemicals to straighten their hair...get over it. Not everyone wants to deal with their natural hair. That is their choice. Oh, and by the way, have you not noticed how much advertising is aimed at white women's hair? Surprise...we're not the only ones that want what we're not born with. Overall, this is an excellent book. No, it does not hold your hands when it comes to going natural, but it does give suggestions. Ms. Bonner does not tell you to get a chemical (texturizer or otherwise), but it is an option she presents (your choice). Most importantly, she lets you know she's been there too and how and why she changed. Sometimes, it really is about the journey.

Sistas, watch out for this book. it sneakily pretends to advocate embracing your natural hair, while advising you to chemically distort it to create the styles in the book. As if we can't wear our hair "down" without putting *some* kind of chemical in it. She should see my hair; it sure as hell look better than hers!
The good hair she portrays in the book is always "texturized" to give the looser, closer to European curl that we were encouraged to lust after from an early age. I am currently doing a degree that partly involves formulating products that alter the chemical structure of the hair. My course, and some of the real hair stories you see everyday have taught me this much:
1) Texturizing your hair is still relaxing your hair, it's just a case of relaxing the curl less.
2)None of these processes can change your actual texture, despite the misleading name. If your hair was coarse when it was curly, it will be coarse when it's straight. Why do you think our hair still looks different from white people's even when it's mad straight?
3) Furthermore, every nap wasn't created the same. If your hair has more of a zig-zag pattern than a curl, or has a looser curl, then the "texturizer" might actually straighten your hair , even if you leave it in just a few minutes. Some people think their curl is tighter than it is 'cause it has lots of texture (the kind of "grip" you feel when you rub your fingers down a strand), so the curls are real separate and look like a 'fro. Imagine the shock they get when a "texturizer" leaves them bone-straight.
Brittenum Bonner might preach one thing, but what she practices belies it. Her message is tainted with calcium hydroxide & does nothing to stop women maligning their own hair. Ultimately, it ends up reinforcing that same destructive lie that drives so many sistas to the caustic chemical "fix" in the first place.

I am in the process of establishing partnerships with our firm's suppliers and subcontractors so that we may improve the service that we provide to our customers. The first step in the process is to be sure that our suppliers and subcontractors understand the concept of partnering for a win-win agreement. "Getting Partnering Right" is by far the best explanation of what I am trying to accomplish that I have read.After an initial meeting, I ask our potential partner to read the book and to call me when he has read it.Without exception, all have stated that "Now I get it". In a follow-up interview it is very easy to tell if they really do "get it". So far I have purchsed 28 copies for distribution to potential partners and to some our own employees. In addition,some of our partners have purchased more copies for distribution within their own companies. Maybe this one should be rated 6 stars!!

Neither the graphics nor the comments are as funny as some of the others in this series. The pictures are of a poorer quality and are more obviously manipulated than in other pop ink books and Mike seems to be really straining and stretching to say anything about them. Recommended only for the hardcore collectors who have to have the whole series.

I usually prefer design(s) but this just blew me away. The visual force of the pics is unlike anything I`ve seen in art.
For me, it's about basics: modern fertility/sexuality icons/ideals, art as a decorative object and what is Beautiful. This is.

If you are into photos that are hard to see and blurry images, this is the book for you. When they say out of focus, take it literally. My book is new, and will definetely be for sale ASAP. Don't waste time or money unless you want to feel like you have coke bottle glasses on. Leave this one alone.
