Customer Reviews:
My daughters FAVORITE!.......2007-10-14
My daughter recieved this as a gift when she was about 6 months old, She is now 18 months old and still loves it more than ever! We travel A LOT! 15-20 hour plane rides 2 to 3 times a year, and this book was the best toy I could have possibly given her. When shes "reading" this book she is amused and quiet for hours on end!
Fun book with flaps.......2007-10-14
This lift the flap book is fun for my 13 month old grand daughter. I do have to help her be gentle with the flaps so she won't tear them, but she likes to look under the flaps and point out the belly button, eyes, etc.
The best!.......2007-10-08
This book has been my baby's favorite book from age 3 months to now (11 months)!
Great first book for baby.......2007-09-29
As mentioned by other reviewers, this is a flap book that teaches babies different body parts by playing "peek a boo" and hiding the babies' mouth, feet, belly button etc. This was the first book my baby ever focused on when he was around two months (I think it is due to the movement of the flaps and the bright pictures). At four months he still enjoys this book over most of his other books.
Bright and Colorful.......2007-09-17
I had never heard of Karen Katz until I came across this book last Christmas and decided to buy it as a gift for my then 9-month old son. One of the best decisions I've ever made. He loves it just as much now (almost a year later) as he did when I first got it for him. I have no idea why this book tickles him so much, but anything that keeps him happy an laughing is a permanent hit with me. We've since purchased more books by Karen Katz and he enjoys them all, but "Where Is Baby's Belly Button" is by far his all-time favorite!

Good text for new teachers.......2006-02-25
This book has great listings of activities to do with kids, whether in the academic setting or a camp/child care setting. Fun games, exercises and other activities are easy to look up and have good directions. A solid textbook for new teachers.
Dynamic Physical Education for Elementary School Children, 14th Edition.......2005-08-28
This is an excellent aide in learning how to teach physical eduation to elementary school students. Pangrazi is an excellent author and essential information and helpful tips to teach physical education. Overall, this book is the most useful and I am definately not selling it back.
Book recieved late .......2005-07-06
It took so long to get it. My class only had 2 classes left.
I didn't need this anymore.
Linda Morgan
Dynamic Physical Education.......2002-06-25
I have used this book for two years now and found it helpful with lots of practical information. Implementing the lessons will require the lesson plans(not included) to fully utilize the contents of the book. This book is Sport based and Standards based. There are 36 weekly lessons which gives the program lots of structure. The author assumes you have enough space (indoor & outdoor) to teach the program. The cost of equipment can be high although there is a pretty good section on "How to make your own" equipment. I believe this book is a good resource, chapters are organized and mirror the weekly lesson plan book.
Quality of Content........2001-09-28
I have this book, and really think that it has a vast ray of information that helps the Physical Education Teacher prepare a developmentally appropriate Lesson.

Customer Reviews:
Everything has worked as written.......2006-02-27
My DH is using this and other books for a science and gadget class with 10 K-2 kids. He likes this book as the experiments are easy and fast paced enough to keep the kids' attention, a real issue with this bunch.
I like it!!!!.......2005-11-30
I disagree with Dixie who had written the previous review! The book was not written for 3 year olds! A good parent reviews the info and suggested age levels in the review section before buying. We have been very happy with these books. After buying one other, we bought this one and love it just as much. These experiments are simple to read and study. But the teach important science concepts so I am as happy as a mom can be...but again...I read the age level before buying the book! Someday I hope to make a list of recommended books...this will be one!
Not all it is cracked up to be.......2002-08-15
I bought this book for my 3 year old son since he has an interest in science. When I got the book I was disappointed in the experiments listed, such as disecting an osyter and fish. Not that I have problems with that, but I was looking for something that you can find objects around the house and more cause and reaction type thing.
FUN BOOK FOR KIDS!!!.......2002-06-07
My children loved this book becasue they had fun with experiments. But my husband and I loved this book because it taught our children science conepts that we could never teach. We used this book until it got raggedy and torn and then my kids insisted on getting another copy!
We highly recommend this book.

Science in Seconds for Kids.......2001-03-24
My children and I have used this book until it has become tattered and torn. Not only are the science activities easy to understand, they are easy to do and don't require any special equipment. I would highly recommend this book...I loved it so much, that I now have a collection of all of this author's books.

Uncover a Tarantula: Take a Three-Dimensional Look Inside a Tarantula! (Uncover Books)
ASIN: 1571457895 |
Product Description
The Uncover series combines the best elements of a book with model elements to help readers truly "uncover" the mysteries of what makes things work. A fascinating three-dimensional presentation allows in-depth, hands-on exploration of the subject at hand. This unique "model" is easily build, deconstructed and re-built layer by layer, system by system just by turning a page, until an understanding of the topic is achieved. The complexities of the human body can be daunting, particularly for children. This book-model combination takes some of the mystery out of how the body works. It covers all the major systems and processes. Children get to look at each system on a different page, then by closing the book, combine them into a whole. 16 pages. Ages 8+
Customer Reviews:
Perfect for curious little ones.......2007-09-17
I gave this book to my nephew for his 5th birthday. My nephew is obsessed with learning and his topic of choice at that time was the human body. He literally stared at this book for an entire week. After a month or so, he could name every single bone in the body, point to all the major organs, and tell you how your digestive system works. This book is full of learning and is so interesting for kids because of the 3D body parts. Yes, you may lose a part or two, or need to glue the skull back in, but all in all, it's fascination and wonder for curious little kids!
Loved it!.......2007-07-30
I bought this for my 5 year old for her birthday. She wanted a stand up skelleton with organs that she could take out and look at. As she is only 5 and she has a 2 year old brother I opted for this book instead. She loves it! Not only can she look at the organs but she can also see the nerves, blood vessels and the brain. The book also contains projects you can do with your child that are pretty neat. Believe it or not this has become a bed time book.
Very cool. And no small pieces to lose.
Fun, eye-catching, AND educational.......2007-03-29
I did alot of research to find just the right book for my 7 year old, and am very happy with this book. We both love the way the parts of the body are 3-D in the middle of the book. He can identify most of the parts after just a few sit downs with me. Some of the text is too old for him, but it's easy to simplify the material to age appropriate levels. We will be able to use this book for many more years adding on information as he gets older!
What a "cool" book!.......2007-02-23
My 8 year old daughter has always been fascinated by the human body. I bought this for her as gift and she can't get enough of it. She takes it everywhere we go and is constantly reading it. We went to the doctor's office recently and of course she had her book with her. The doctor was very impressed and kept commenting on what a "cool" book it was. I have to agree, and so does my daughter.
So Cool!.......2007-01-21
We got this for our 4 year old because he was at the stage where he was asking so many questions about how the body works. It is fantastic! I love the little skeleton inside. Every page reveals a different layer that is explained on that page. He loves the book and will actually sit and look at it without my help now. Definitely would recommend this book!

These are, hands down, our daughter's favorite books. She enjoys them over and over. The illustrations are bright and cute -- highly recommend these books -- especially the lift the flap -- she LOVES them.
Baby's Box of Fun.......2007-05-13
I purchased this book set for my grandson when he was 12 months old. Listening to books is the only time he actually sits still. His favorite book was Toes, Ears, & Nose although he likes all the books because they are interactive. The only problem with the books is if he is left unsupervised or even when holding him, he rips off the flaps in the books. We have had to glue them back on numerous times. I would highly recommend these books but you must be careful with babies that are aggressively interactive with the books.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!.......2007-03-28
This item was received as a gift and my 2 yr old loves her lift the flaps books. Her favorite out of this collection is "Where is Mommy". I have also purchased them for my friends children and they love them.
Never received mine, bought from 'oktrbks'.......2007-01-05
I bought this from 'oktrbks' and never received.
Contacted the seller and was asked if I want another copy so I said 'yes'
I have not received this yet. I was waiting for this because I believed the seller will send me an another copy. But now It's been more than 90 days so I can not even get my money back.
Not a big money but doesn't feel good at all about the seller's feedback.
Will see if the seller will contact me about this item or not.
I sent an memo to seller today again.

So Fun.......2006-06-02
My whole family loved this book. I had as much fun as my 5-year-old. It was easy enough for my youngest while still challenging my oldest(8). I love these books and will be purchasing the whole set.
Great for all ages.......2004-09-08
This is an excellent series of books that are great for children and adults. My newly 4 year old daughter is able to do many of the problems and enjoys the focus and accomplishment of doing them.
I love this book!!!.......2002-08-26
Sylvan Learning Center uses it, that should be enough of a testimony right there!
My third-graders spatial skills were not well developed........1999-07-07
She used to go ballistic when she had to mentally form a three-dimensional object from a two-dimensional image. After doing the Building Thinking Skills Book 1, she says it's a breeze. Her nonverbal scores used to be low. Now they're higher than her verbal, which were already high. Her creativity and problem solving have also blossomed since she started using these materials.

Excellent for Children, Parents and Teachers!!! .......2006-08-24
I was looking for a book to help get my children aware of our environmental problems, and help me teach them in a fun and exciting way! THIS IS IT! Easy workbook style. Easy Read, Fun projects that can be adapted to children of different ages! If you are teacher of young children, this book is a must! Help the young learn now and they will grow up into the next generation that will protect our earth! This book will definitely show children how they can start solving environmental problems right now!
Teaching children to respect the Earth.......2002-07-20
Linda Schwarz, along with her illustrator Beverly Armstrong, has written an activity book for children on how to care for the earth. In simple format, she defines the basic terms and ideas used in environmental study. She then offers a number of activities for understanding these concepts. For example, she describes acid rain, then gives instructions for a project to measure the amount of acid in your own rainfall. This is a useful idea book for children's rainy day or school projects from about third grade on. In fact, this would be a handy reference book any of us could use for quick definitions and helpful illustrations. It could help us better make our points in conversations and community discussions about environmental problems and what we can do about them. (Originally reviewed in The Auroran)
Great Source for Teachers!.......2001-04-22
This is a wonderful book for teachers to have for elementary age children when having a unit on Earth Day or celebrating Earth Day. Mainly it allows many different ways that children can help save the Earth. There are several sections of the book: Energy, resources, and recycling; Air, Land, & Water; Plant & Animal Habitat; and More Ways to Make Every Day Earth Day. Each of these sections provides simple facts and information while providing ways for children to help out or be actively involved in each particular topic. At the end of the book, there is a section called Where to Write & Glossary which provides a page on how to request for information and also provides many different resources/organizations that children can write to to obtain more information. I would definitely recommend this book for teachers to use for Earth Day units but also for children to read from if they are interested in helping save the Earth.

Customer Reviews:
Enthusiastically recommended for parents, teachers, and caregivers of young children everywhere........2007-04-14
Kindergarten teacher Jill Frankel Hauser presents Science Play, a compendium of over 65 safe, age-appropriate activities designed to foster creativity and a sense of discovery in children ages 2 to 6. Step-by-step instructions and simple black-and-white illustrations walk readers through activities such as observing earthworms at work, making puddle prints with food coloring, water, and a simple medicine dropper, or gathering and sorting rocks. Young children will most likely need an adult's help with reading the instructions, but the activities themselves are easy to do and highly inexpensive. Enthusiastically recommended for parents, teachers, and caregivers of young children everywhere.
A fun way to introduce science to little kids!.......2006-02-13
It's absolutely perfect for our 3- and 5-year olds! It's a great way to introduce science concepts to them. The experiments are simple to prepare, very interesting and lots of fun. Also, most of the materials are common items used at home. We have done a number of the experiments without spending much money at all. It comes very handy, too, during rainy or snowy days. The activities help keep the kids from getting bored inside the house.
Outstanding resource.......2004-02-08
My kids loved these fun learning activities. Enough to keep them busy through early childhood. Nothing canned here. . . all creative and discovery-focused. Makes biology and even physics accessable to very young children. You can't go wrong with this outstanding guide.
This series is GREAT.......2003-07-31
This is really handy for the budding scientist in your preschooler. Experiements are written so that the early reader can understand and do the experiments on their own (it lets the reader know when a parent needs to help or supervise, such as when scissors are involved) and has question that the parent can use to further expand on projects. Also check this whole series, such as math play, arts and crafts from around the world, rainy day play, weather, shapes, etc. My son loves these activies. Plus for the price, you can't beat it. (...)
Dissatisfied in Annandale.......2003-01-12
This book had some neat ideas and experiments, but not enough explanations for them. I have a very inquisitive 4 year old and this book just didn't satisfy his curiosity or my expectations.
