I took it on vacation with me and I couldn't put it down. A great book for aspiring athletes and coaches as well as your average Joe who works 9-5. The coaches discuss a variety of topics from their childhood to how they motivate their players. Any easy read for all ages.

I've read through Game of Life and I enjoyed it very much. There are so many things to take from this book, not just into sports, but also some reflections on life. I would recommend this book to everybody.

A fun read, especially if yoiu're a sports fan. I read it in search of things that would help my own ability as a coach in my company. Much of it is light stuff but the easy read makes it fun nonetheless and there are few golden nuggets laced throughout the book.

Richard Bach has a gift of using metaphore to write his experience.... You don't have to be a Pilot nor a Seagull to get caught in his web.... His uinque way of enfolding one into his story, is most delightful...
IF your ready for a very unique experience, in reading, be careful.... You'll have a hard time putting the book down, and not wanting to read more of him,and in the process, you just might learn something about yourself.....

I'll paraphrase the intro from the front of this book: "This book consists of a bunch of short essays written for magazines like AOPA and other amateur pilot publications. Some of the stories were written a long time ago and are not well-written but I have not updated them."
In many respects, that sums up my take on this book. Many poorly written stories about how smart amateur pilots feel after doing something stupid and not getting killed. I guess you have to be a pilot to buy into this. I am not a pilot.
Reading this book is like being on a Greyhound bus for 9 hours next to a Cessna salesman. It's all about "clear air", and "God's skies", etc. You're not alive if you're not flying. Gimme a break.
I recommend you go read Ernest K. Gann's "Fate is the Hunter", about professional pilots who spend their whole lives in the air and still get killed, or nearly so, because of circumstances they have no control over.
Just drop this book off at the General Aviation office at your local airport and give those guys something to read till the weather clears.

"A Gift of Wings" and Bach's "Stranger to the Ground," led to my earning a Private Pilot's License, the second most influential event in my life. After reading Bach, I had little choice: I had to fly solo, above the clouds and earth, and experience the trancendental moments he described, or my life would be incomplete, perhaps even wasted.
This is my flying "Bible." Whenever I need inspiration, whether related to life or flying, a few chapters will renew my spirits and leave me yearning to fly, my cynicism, anger or depression evaporated by his lovely words. Some of his deeply heartfelt sentiments are so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes, even after the 20th reading.
Bach will convince you that the invention of the airplane was mankind's singular greatest accomplishment, not for it's technical achievement, but for it's affect on the human spirit.
I own a hardbound copy which I hope to have Bach autograph. I bought 20 paperback copies: one for my car, several at my airport office, one at my bedside, and the some given away to private and airline pilots, who having lived some of Bach's magic moments in the air, can appreciate his insights. The rest are reserved for unsuspecting, non-flying "groundpounders" I will meet, who are about to have a life changing experience, when I bestow upon them - "A Gift of Wings."

I bought this book not as a spiritual book or for learning and understanding of the Bible, but as a book of thoughts. These thoughts have been around for a millennium, and have been pondered for thousands of years.
This little book to me is more of a book of wisdom on the subjects of love, joy, peace, suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.
Whether or not you get your inspiration from the Bible, the Koran, or just from nature itself does not matter.
The thing that matters is that you are inspired.

This book was excellent! All four stories are linked together beautifully, and when you finish one, you'll want to start the other. The mystery element was a nice, added touch. If you enjoy Tracie Peterson's work, you should NOT miss this novella collection. It's a must-read!

Tracie Peterson takes the lives of some very interesting and prevocative people, separates them into four spell-binders, and then puts one cover on all! True to style, the author lets the reader learn all about the budding romances, the extreme disappointments, the rational and irractional fears and the final triumphs of faith!
Set in the Colorado Rockies, the love stories unfold slowly, entwined with tremendous complications of suspense, suspicion and subtle sub-stories.
The characters from story one continue over to story two and so on, just the lead changes. Tracie keeps the reader comfortable with glimpses from the previous stories as she unfolds the mysteries of the subsequent ones.
This 4-story book is not only romance, it is faith in God and faith and trust in other people at its best!

Carolyn Shores Wright is a wonderful artist/illustrator, with fine, delicate brushwork technique in her watercolors; her forte is doing birds and flowers, with a good sense of balance and color blending.
Carolyn's chubby birds are adorable, and very unique. They have very expressive eyes, and short, upturned beaks that give them almost the look of human babies.
Being a hummingbird aficionado, I appreciate Carolyn's excellent depiction of these flying marvels, and her flowers are soft and flowing.
The lovely paintings are surrounded by inspirational quotes, some from the Bible, and some by poets and writers of wisdom like Helen Keller and Charles Wesley.
With a nice layout and semi-gloss finish, this little book is sweetness and light.
