Fair.......2007-07-08
DreamHealer two is a very simple book that reminds me of someone that has limited writing abilities.
From the mouth of a master.......2006-03-13
Having read 2 of adams books and attended his conference in Vancouver BC, I do not doubt his ability to heal others using only the power of his mind. True, most of us do not have this ability and we can read all the books in the world and the knowledge by itself will never give us the ability to heal. Neverless, it is interesting to read about what those with the power to heal are doing with their minds to achieve the results they get.
Poorly written; pseudoscientific scam.......2006-03-06
Don't be fooled by the other reviews. Over half of this book is a transparent advertisement for "Adam's" workshops. The book is scant on actual "healing" content, and long on descriptions of Adam's miraculous distance healing powers (based on the pseudoscientific invention of quantum holograms). Visit the Dreamhealer website, and you'll learn that for $170 (US) you can attend one of Adam's group healing workshops in Canada, where he'll heal your aura by waving his hands in the air.
As far as actual content goes, the exercises that Adam advocates take up no more than ten pages, although they're repeated several times throughout the book (sometimes word for word): deep breathing, mindfulness, and self-visualization. These coping techniques are undoubtedly useful for dealing with stress and illness, but they are not miracle cures for cancer and other serious diseases, and the invocation of quantum mechanics is nothing more than pseudoscientific mumbo-jumbo.
This book gives false hope to people suffering with serious illnesses, and it is clearly intended as a gateway to Adam's family's bigger scam: the immensely profitable group healing workshops "conducted" by Adam (yes, he literally waves his hands in the air).
Don't waste your time with this book. Better resources are available for learning relaxation and visualization techniques. For those who are dealing with cancer, Simonton's "Getting Well Again" is a classic work on the subject.
From the mouth of babes..........2006-01-13
I've studied many healing modalities, and spent a lot on my education as 1. a Reiki Master, 2. a student of Dr. Kam Yuen learning his Yuen Energetics, and 3. studying under Dr. Eric Pearl learning his Reconnective Healing techniques. I have to say that in this simple, easily understandable book by Adam, all the information about energetic healing I have spent years learning, is broken down into its simplest and purest form that anyone can immediately utilize. Adam is wise beyond his years and has gifted us all with this amazing book.
A life-changing experience.......2005-09-23
This book (together with bk 1) was given to me by a friend of the family who had the privilage of meeting Adam, and having them signed. I suffer from a cronic illness and for a long time I haven't had that pure essence of hope and belief that this book offers. Its a total must read - for everyone! Its a perfect followup to book 1 'Dreamhealer - his name is Adam' The techniques are simply explained yet very powerful. There are many colorful pictures in this book to help the reader visualize. Adam's skill and work mesmerizes me! He is truely God sent! He is a walking example of everything people have been trying to explain in the quantum realm. While reading this book, I had a sudden burst of enthusiasm as I said to myself "I CAN DO THIS! I CAN BE HEALED! I WILL GET BETTER!" ... and it's true!
Book Description
Discover the miraculous story behind this international bestseller
DreamHealer was originally self-published by Adam when he was sixteen, and has gone on to become an underground bestseller, selling more than 30,000 copies in Canada. The book tells the story of how the author came to discover his unique energy healing abilities, and how he became one of the most talked about healers in his country. He has been called Âa miracle workerÂby The Globe and Mail and his high-profile healings of astronauts and rock legends have catapulted him into standing-room-only events and consistent national media.
DreamHealer is a story of both his coming to terms with his healing gift at such a young age, and his remarkable healings of people with myriad health concerns. His writing is inspirational and enlightening, and his insights into healing offer hope to anyone. Like James Van PraaghÂ's Talking to Heaven and Sylvia BrowneÂ's Adventures of a Psychic, AdamÂ's DreamHealer heralds a new voice in spirituality that has bestselling franchise potential.

Easy understanding of energy healing.......2007-10-11
Interesting to read about his background and how he started to develop his abilities. He explaines how energy healing works and has many tips as to how you can work on your own health problems. He shares his thoughts about many aspects of life, and is remarkably mature for his age.
The Real Deal!.......2007-05-09
I have read all of Adam's books and met him in person at a weekend intensive and he is "the real deal." He is honest, forthright and tries very hard to make sure everyone gets an understanding of what he is doing and how they can change their own lives. As a licensed massage therapist and Reiki Master for over 12 years, I was very impressed with Adam. As for the reviewer who said Hawkins denies Adam healing him, I have seen two TV interviews with Hawkins praising Adam and crediting him with still being alive!
Sorry, I just don't believe it........2007-03-13
I found the book to be adolescent in its understanding of science. Auras and all, I might believe in, but seeing the body on the cellular level, and watching the electrical messaging of the brain etc. goes beyond belief. Connectedness and universal access to information or ideas, perhaps. But healing through photographs while not seeing auras on television people does not equate. If you can connect and "see" through an image based solely on the interaction of light with matter then a photo image and a television image should be equivalent.
In addition Hawkins (the rocker) himself disputes Adam's claim that he healed his pancreatic cancer.
The further I look the more I learn that Adam et al are making a tremendous amount of money out of his quest to bring self-healing through energy manipulation to the world. That said, I did learn something from the book. Drink water, and breath deeply, it really does help.
The book is better and more ambitious than anything I could come up with at 19...
Interesting.......2007-02-04
As an energy healer, I have bee introduced to many new ways of healing and have met many talented healers, but there is no one that I have connected with (either through reading or in person) more than Adam. I fist became a healer when I was 16 and it is nice to see that I wasn't the only one who went through this kind of an awakening.
This book should be read by all, especially those who want to find healing because the power to heal is inside each and everyone of us.
Dream Healer.......2007-01-16
Adam is an excellent writer as well as healer. This is a very inspiring book.

The Emerging Dreamhealer.......2007-01-10
I have read all of Adam's books and have gone to Canada to see him. His message is great. Energy medicine is coming and he makes it possible to explore and learn it. Adam is a fantastic presenter, writer and is introducing us to a new paradigm of healing.
Book Description
The Path of the DreamHealer introduces the incredible healing techniques of a boy named Adam, who has been named ÂThe Miracle Worker by the International press.
Adam is your everyday twenty-year-old college student living in Canada. The only thing different about Adam is that he has the power to heal peopleÂand can do so from across a continent. For the thousands of people who have already been healed by Adam, this is not a curious phenomenon, but the very definition of hope.
Adam is an energy healer: He can read your aura and see where energy is blocked in your body. Through his healing gift, he is able to direct that energy toward healing. He has been the subject of feature articles in Rolling Stone, the Toronto Star, and The Globe and Mail. He has already written two previous bestsellers in Canada, including DreamHealer, which is about his early life as a healer, and DreamHealer 2, which explains how he uses energy to heal. The Path of the DreamHealer continues the story of the last four years of his healing journey and brings a new understanding of how anyone can participate in this process.
Like Talking to Heaven, Quantum Healing, and The Adventures of a Psychic, The Path of the DreamHealer is a unique and powerful book that will inspire countless others to find the power to healÂthemselves and othersÂfrom within. BACKCOVER:
Praise for Adam:
ÂAdam is becoming one of the worldÂ's most in demand healers . . . with gifts no one can explain.Â

ÂAt nineteen, he is said to have cured a rock star and an astronaut, and everyone wants a piece of this private, young healer. But nobody really knows what he does.Â

Not just remarkable..........2007-07-23
The Path of the Dreamhealer is not just remarkably well written, it turns out to be a very penetrating account of the human spirit in relationship to the cosmic whole. Adam guides us with precision ease through the Creation, how our body, mind and spirit integrate into all that is in such an easy to read and grasp format. Its illustrations well enhance the effectiveness of the processes outlined in the book.Though I am aware of other critics' counterclaims on Adam's healing technigues, I agree with Adam that there are no miracles involved here, rather a knowing more of your Self involved here. It is only due to ignorance that things appear or seem miraculous. Adam's honest and refreshing advice has been for everyone to practice, practice, practice! Ability is involved and naturally needs to be cultivated through diligent exercise, which includes feeling your tai chi energy ball, seeking auras, and forming imaginative visualisation skill with the help of the colorful illustrations included. I have come to the conclusion that this outstanding literary offering is an invitation to transcend many of our current healing practices without any mind numbing intellectual jargon, from psychoanalysi to reiki. More astounding is the realization that this is the work of an extraordinarily bright and gifted teenager. I am giving this book a second readthrough and give it 5 stars.

A must-read for energy healers........2007-07-18
This is probably the most comprehensive of Adam's books. Ancient wisdom from such a young man. There is much of value in this book and I would highly recommend it for anyone who works with energy.
This is the Real Deal.......2007-01-05
I have been to Adam's weekend intensive seminar and he is "the real deal!" He is genuine, honest, and friendly. I have read all his books and highly recommend his seminars and books to anyone interested in alternative health or anyone with chronic illness.
Healing story.......2006-12-13
I purchased this book when my husband was diagnosed with kidney cancer last summer (June 2006). I was hoping for some real insight into the process of healing and opening oneself to the channel of healing. I found the book very disappointing. There was nothing in it that inspired my husband in any way nor gave us any insight as to how to investigate the process of opening oneself to the miracle of healing. I was miraculously healed of Multiple Sclerosis in November of 1975 and have conducted many retreats and workshops on "Self Awareness and Healing" across the United States. I had hoped that Adam might have some further insight into the healing phenominan and that I could gain further insight in order to help my husband and others. I read the book aloud to my husband and he,too, was disappointed in the content of the book. I learned nothing new from this book nor found it to be particularly inspirational. My dear husband passed away in October 2006 and received the greatest healing of all, death. He is now in the presence of our Lord and is where I want to be someday!
Anybody can do what Adam does, most don't believe it........2006-11-10
This is an excellent book that's easy to understand. It really is wonderful to read about someone who knows what they are capable of doing, believes in themselves and then does what they are capable of doing. Belief goes a long way in curing ourselves of illness because illness begins on the same level where cures begin. We just have to get in touch with it. Doubt, likewise, goes a long way in returning to the same old rut that robs one of many things, including health. Actually, "we are made in the image and likeness of God," therefore as creators, we can restore health, wealth, relationships and most anyting else that exists in the physical world, because it already exists in the non-physical world, which is a place where we exist simultaneously but most are unaware. We exist on levels other than the physical level, we only need to get in touch with these levels of existance and once there, we are capable of materializing results in the physical world. Restoration of health is a materialization on the physical level of that which already exists on the non-physical level, our only job is to bring the non-physical into the physical. Adam can do this and he tells how to do it in an easily understandable way. Practitioners of Healing Touch have been trained to do exactly what Adam does; they are taught to become re-acquainted with themselves and their healing ability.
In my presence, I have personally seen health restored as Adam describes. One was a person who obviously had a hernia and it was healed on the spot, never to return in over 8 years. That's impressive! Even more impressive, I was present to see an individual cured of myasthenia gravis. The disease, which is ultimately crippling and fatal, was diagnosed by a medical doctor and then confirmed by two university teaching hospitals; the disease had already begun to cause obvious physical problems and the individual was completely healed and the disease has not returned simply by using techniques described in Adam's book. As of this review, this individual has remained healed and completely disease free. This healing occurred over 7 years ago. Anyway, "The Path of the Dream Healer" is excellent and the process described is authentic and it works. Read the book and then do it!

Book Description
Never before or since in American history have the needs and influence of the military weighed so heavily on society. Escott analyzes the militarization of life in the Confederacy and probes the relationships between military commanders, legislators, and Jefferson Davis and his administration. As the South struggled to wage an exhausting war against the North, military necessity increasingly determined policy and shaped all aspects of life. The military had an increasingly large impact not only on policy but also on events inside civil society. Military men played important roles in bringing about extensive social change, enforcing law and order, and placing significant restrictions on individual freedoms. Ultimately the crisis of the Confederacy threatened both the constitutionalism that southern politicians long had cherished and a core principle of the tradition of civil control over the military. Key figures in the army also took the lead in urging the use of slaves as soldiers and promoting the idea of emancipation. With many portraits of high-ranking generals and civil officials and telling anecdotes that reveal the nature of their relationships, this book reveals the depth of the Confederacy's social, political, and military crisis and highlights what this crisis revealed about the foundations of Confederate society.

Intellectual arguments in favor of slavery.......2004-09-17
This book is a small sampling of the intellectual arguments put forward by Southerners in defense of their "peculiar institution", which was a euphemism for slavery. Or, more accurately, their justification for the continued involuntary servitude of persons of African descent. For in this timeframe, only black people were slaves. The people making the arguments sound a great deal like old order European aristocrats, claiming that their society is one that is ordained by the almighty. Furthermore, their argument was that not only would any attempt to destroy slavery lead to the chaos of a class war, but that the slaves were actually better off in their servitude than outside it.
Their main argument is over the value of labor and they compare the situation of the free, yet exploited industrial workers with their slaves. It is pointed out that the factory owners have no obligation to care for the workers outside their menial wages, while the slaveowner must provide food, clothing and shelter for their slaves. In many ways, their points about the plight of industrial workers sound like the statements of Karl Marx.
In arguing in favor of the superiority of their system, they also claim that all other western societies that have banned slavery will eventually understand the error of their ways and reinstitute it in some form. Their position is that only societies with a well-defined social order where the overlords rule wisely and humanely and the workers happily toil without complaint can survive.
From the perspective of almost two hundred years, it is hard to understand their arguments. Although if you do, then you can understand how the American Civil war was inevitable. The industrial revolution was tearing apart the old fabric of society, and their idyllic (largely mythical) agrarian society was about to die. The only question was whether the death would be one where it withered away or was violently terminated. These are people who were defending a way of life that they seemed to understand was about to pass away. Rather than accept that fact, they preferred to die fighting.
Essential look at the antebellum South.......1996-12-29
In this fascinating book, Genovese examines the attemptsmade by antebellum Southern intellectuals like John C.Calhoun, James Henley Thornwell, George Fitzhugh, and others to reconcile the American love of freedom with the slavery they saw all around them. Genovese points out, Yankee propaganda to the contrary, that these men were, in their various fields, as formidable a group of intellects as America has ever produced. But their task was, of course, impossible. As usual, this book is essential for understanding the antebellum South.

Listen to Listening to the Sea.......2001-05-19
In this book, a must-read for anyone interested in the sea, Robert Jay Wilder gives us a new and rational slant on the problems and stewardship of the oceans. Rather than painting scapegoats, he gives the reader an unbiased history of current maritime dangers ( from overfishing to competing maritime bureaucracies), and then presents sensible solutions.'Listening to the Sea' doesn't blame, it heals.
Along the way, there are many pearls to keep things interesting - from cannon range leading to the three-mile limit to how fuel cells work. The meat of the book lies in its clear outlining of the precautionary principle, the philosophy underlying sensible reform of our relationship to the oceans. Wilder makes a compelling claim that combining this with an integrated management plan that uses marine reserves, something akin to Australia's approach to the Great Barrier Reef, offers the best chance to save our oceans.

Beautifully written, accesible history and science.......1999-11-19
"Listening to the Sea" describes the gradual development of territorial sea limits that grew outof military, then fishery protection, concerns that have no relevance whatever to the proper governance of the sea and its resources but which continue to this day to create boundaries where none really exist. Wilder presents a wealth of historical information in a way that is easy to read and retain. He traces the history of federal-state struggles concerning authority over the exploitation of offshore oil and other resources which underpin current issues about the proper uses of the outer continental shelf and how to allocate federal funds related to OCS. Wilder follows the development of US environmental legislation and the inernational agreements that increasingly are required to find solutions to problems that extend across the "notional" borders nations have created at sea, arguing for an emphasis on prevention rather than cure, the extension of the precautionary principle to all national and international rule-making, and the development of a "holistic" approach to all questions involving the seas and the wildlife that live in them. This covers the substance to be found in the book, but not its effect. It is beautifully written. It's hard to avoid a sense that Wilder may be overoptimistic about the potential for the development of a more "enlightened self interest" to prevail in the governance of the oceans. But "Listening to the Seas" does leave you feeling better about the future and possibilities for scientists and policymakers to work together and for international agreements that might begin to turn around some of the awful trends we've seen in the last 20 years. While things have changed for the worse environmentally, they have changed greatly for the better in terms of the public's recognition of those facts and issues.
