Book Description

This is the groundbreaking classic exposé of the Bush family, cited by all that followed it, yet still unmatched. Exhaustively documented by intensive search of dozens of archives and months of interviews with government insiders, this biography digs up all the dirt — frightening, gory, hilarious — on the Bush dynasty:

How the Bushes made their fortune building up Hitler and the Nazi war machine ~ Iran-Contra ~ Zapata's Watergate burglars ~ The Reagan shooting ~ The "war hero" story ~ The secret government ~ "Eugenic" population reduction plans ~ Kissinger, China, and genocide in the Third World ~ Luring Iraq to attack Kuwait ~ The Bush Leveraged Buyout Mob, theft of a nation ~ Jupiter Island, Skull and Bones, and other power bases.

Essential reading as long as this Anglo-American oligarchy directs American politics, the Unauthorized Biography is a vivid X-ray of the presidential dynasty, and the private forces dominating both major political parties.

5 out of 5 stars BUSH the 2nd..Lest we forget Prescott Bush...and Don't forget Bush 3rd.......2007-09-11

Amazingly accurate and well researched, this book will provide the reader with a fascinating view of "41", and the depths of the Bush influence in American politics. This is revelatory reading. Remember, Poppy is merely prologue for Dubya. These are dangerous people.

5 out of 5 stars A polemic with the facts.......2007-07-06

The Bush family is undoubtedly a crime family, right up there with the famous Mafia crime families. Prescott Bush's crimes in particular have long been on the public record (newspaper and magazine articles are cited in this book), but more recently, documents released under FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) show the government documents backing the much earlier journalistic reports of criminal activity. Prescott Bush's son, George H. W. Bush, has continued in that tradition, perhaps more behind the scenes than on the public stage.

This book was published in 1992, and I read this book in 2007. One thing that struck me in particular were the frightening similarities between Bush 41 and Bush 43. You will find more recent books, such as Robert Parry's _Secrecy & Privilege: Rise of the Bush Dynasty from Watergate to Iraq_, portraying post-1992 Bush family history, but I believe that _George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography_ remains an important source of information and insights, particularly psychological insights, that are not readily found elsewhere.

This book is a polemic -- readers are left with no doubts about the point of view taken. It is however, a polemic with documented facts and footnotes, otherwise the authors would likely have been sued over this book. Readers, be ye not deterred by ad hominem attacks on the authors, Mr. Tarpley in particular! He was indeed associated with Lyndon LaRouche for a long time, apparently including the time when this book was written, but is no longer. We may forget that serious, investigative Bush Bashing by mainstream authors was rare indeed during Bush 41's heyday. It took someone outside the mainstream corporate press to blow the whistle on the Bushes back in the early 90s.

There is a free on-line version of this book that you can find easily enough, but its sheer size will discourage you from trying to read it this way. I have found the on-line version useful for searching on particular words that were not included in the index.

Bush 41's legacy is still under-rated and under-appreciated, perhaps partly due to the "wimp factor". I highly recommend this book for readers wanting a better understanding of the important role that GHWB has played in American and world history.

5 out of 5 stars Bush, a bit of sugar in him.......2007-05-13

Webster Tarpley is a true journalist. His footnotes and source material are number one. I didn't know just how corrupt Bush and his family were and are but Tarpley does a great job exposing it all. It just goes to show how little we know about them and they know about us. Talk about a clash of cultures. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who cares about what is going on in the world around them.

5 out of 5 stars George Bush I.......2007-05-11

This book is a gripping account of our former president and pater familias. It is not to be missed by any political animal who is interested in a well researched account of all the things we wish we had known about him and his extensive connections at home and abroad. It is never too late to learn. I recommend it highly.

5 out of 5 stars Insightful.......2007-05-10

It was shameful how on 5/9/07 at about 9:30 pm on Fox News how Hannity and Colmes treated Webster Griffin Tarpley when discussing 911. They wouldn't let him talk and they rolled their eyes, hummed and hawed, and kept interrupting him and calling him paranoid, and so on. Yet, they never attacked his arguments. How pathetic. If there is no conspiracy to cover up 911, then why is the media bent on resorting to such tactics as ridicule and censor? Hannity and Colmes only increased the public's belief there was a conspiracy. If anyone doubts there was, then they watch too much television.

Christian Zionists like Hannity have a lot in common with pro-pedophile juwes like Colmes (Colmes thought the pedophile theme of the movie "Hound Dog" is protected free speech -- questioning the holocaust is not protected free speech according to Colmes). They both want to hide the sins of Israel.

Where is the plane fuselage at the pentagon? There is no evidence of a plane at the Pentagon. Look at the pictures. Every plane crash has the main body of the plane lying around. Why did the third building go down in classic demolition style even though no plane hit it (a lot of people are of the mistaken belief only two buildings went down in New York)? Why was the debris quickly removed overseas? Why were Israelis filming and laughing at the collapse of the World Trade Center on an adjacent building and how could they be so prepared with camera equipment and so on in advance of the 911 destruction? Why did Bush continue to read from a children's book after being notified of 911 as if "no big deal"? These and many more questions are swept under the carpet and you are mocked if you don't swallow the nonsense of the official reports. Like the Kennedy assassination, a commission report was immediately issued. And, like the Kennedy assassination, a Masonic and juwish alliance was involved (William Kunstler, Jack Ruby, aka Rubenstein's, attorney admitted Ruby killed Oswald in order to cover up the juwish connection via Ben Gurion and Meyer Lansky).

          Book Description

The poems in Dennis Hinrichsen's Cage of Water explore collisions of spirit and matter, that thorn-and-thistle bath, as he states in the book's final poem, where the limitations and entanglements of the flesh give over to provisional and sometimes fractured radiance and everlasting. This radiance takes many forms--an uncle with Downs Syndrome calling the makes of cars through hrsh lght, Gds lght, faltring ner th crwn of the skul"; a woman's neck cords flaring, leaping out in muscular form, "fluted/arc/briefly held instant"; his father sleeping, "bird cry/pouring/out of him/like string/or/knotted rain," as the narrator resists waking him and lets mosquitoes feed. Confronted with the natural world, Hinrichsen peers closely at such things as mules standing in the rain, the flight of a swallowtail, or cloudwork lighting the weave of trout, and fashions uncanny threadings of self and other.

5 out of 5 stars One of the most under-rated poets of his generation.......2005-07-22

Cage of Water, simply put, is a beautiul, elegiac collection of poetic meditations. Part Zen master, part garage-band rocker, Hinrichsen's poems are complex in the way the most spiritual and truest prayers are complex. They don't give answers; rather they help us follow the thought that is the answer. Well-crafted, formally invigorating, this book shows how Hinrichsen is one of the most under-rated poets of his generation.

1 out of 5 stars El peor libro que he visto en mi vida........2007-06-09

            Book Description

This history of Burrell & Son of Glasgow describes the way in which ship ownership and operation developed during the final years of the age of sail and the beginning of the era of steamships. Not only does the work contain background material on tramp shipping commerce, it also includes a substantial database on ship building, ownership, and operations during this period. The information will be of interest to the maritime historian since it describes this important era in detail, and to the business historian interested in the strategy and structure of the shipping industry.

                  Description:
For decades, marine ecologists have used cages as biological enclosure or exclosure devices to manipulate movement, growth, and survival of organisms. The ability to control the densities of focal organisms makes these structures a powerful tool. However, cages can often produce artifacts that influence the outcome of experiments. Although a subset of these artifacts have been examined previously, the effects of cages on water motion have not been adequately addressed from a quantitative standpoint, especially in high-flow environments. We targeted this data gap by explicitly measuring the fractional degree of velocity reduction inside a variety of experimental cage structures across flow conditions spanning those typical of wave-swept shallow subtidal and intertidal zones. Cages decreased velocities inside by up to 47% and reduced high-energy impact forces by more than 40%. Associated cage controls, employed to mimic physical effects of cages without interfering with organism movement, often had effects on water flow similar to those of cages. However, the nearly half an order of magnitude change in velocities inside cages and their controls reveals the need to be vigilant in considering potential artifacts, especially those tied to secondary biological interactions. These artifacts may be reduced by maximizing mesh size, employing large plot sizes and low profile structures, using cage controls that best mimic effects of the full cage, and monitoring cage controls to avoid the establishment of high-density ''consumer hotels'' within them. Using such approaches, researchers can minimize experimental biases and simplify the explanation of experimental results.

This is a great book. I would recommend it to any teen girl. It's well written and very easy to follow. It offers lots of practical advice and shares a biblical perspective without forcing the Bible down your throat. I think all teen girls could appreciate this book and can find something in it that relates to themselves. A must have for any home, even if you don't have girls. It gives you an excellent perspective on how teen girls view themselves and the world around them. You have to buy this book!

This is really two books: it's an extremely informative look at bluebirds, and it's also an endearing animal story. Arnette Heidcamp- an extraordinary woman who seems to be a more than competent gardener and at least an amateur ornithologist- uses the engaging and entertaining story of these two baby eastern bluebirds, which she rescued from a nearby nesting facility, as the framework for a concise but comprehensive look at bluebirds in North America. In the first part of the book, Heidcamp examines the three types of bluebirds (eastern, western, and mountain), describing their eating, breeding, and migrating habits, and the challenges they've faced as their population declined at one point to near-extinction. She also details the rescue efforts that have met with considerable success since the 1950s, identifying some of those responsible for this laudable effort. The charming story of Bonnie and Ben follows, and this will provide the main enjoyment for most readers. The two baby birds had been abandoned before their lucky meeting with the devoted and kind-hearted author of "Hummingbird In My House" (another excellent story, well worth your time), and their interlude as guests in the famous sunroom provide us with another valuable reading experience.

An appendix offers helpful information to those interested in attracting bluebirds and maintaining bluebird houses.

I anxiously await her forthcoming book "Andy Rooney In My House", in which she nurtures the famous televison commentator and returns him to the wild.
