Nice Companion for the Serious Antietam Battlefield Student.......2001-03-19

This book is essentially a compendium of historic tablets describing what Union and Confederate combat units did and where they stood during the 1862 Maryland Campaign. Most of the tablets reside at Antietam, Maryland, but others are found at South Mountain, Harper's Ferry and a few other locations.

The book serves its purpose well. Anyone interested in a presentation of the locations of the troops involved will find this a handy guide. Messers. Swisher and Large have performed a good service for the historian and serious student of the Campaign.

For the general reader, the synopses of each phase of the campaign will appear too short to give a good impression of what was happening or the significance of various unit locations. I also found the maps a little too loosely drawn and smallish to be of as much help as one may have hoped for.

Nonetheless, this book hits the target at which it aims -- a catalogue of location markers for units involved in the campaign that led to America's single bloodiest day of combat -- September 17, 1862

Antietam Battle told in tablets from Battlefield.......2000-02-07

Almost 28 years passed before an Act of Congress on 30 August 1890, approved money to survey, locate, and preserve the lines of battle of the Army of the Potomac and the army of Northern Virginia at Antietam. This book gives the specifics of the endeavor and relates it to the reader in a format befitting those early historians, Generals Henry Heth of the Confederacy and Ezra A. Carmen of the Union.

These two men were instrumental in the overall effort of studying the field and movements of the troops, then transforming this information onto iron tablets which were erected upon the hallowed grounds.

Maps and pictures illustrate the specifics of not only the tablets at Antietam, but Shepherdstown, Harpers Ferry and South Mountain as well. In the case of Shepherdstown, only two of the five tablets still remain and they are in poor condition and in need of repair. If it were not for this publication, one would have to dig through the National Archives to gather the data on the three missing tablets.

This work is an invaluable research tool for the modern historian/archivist as well as interesting reading to the casual Civil War buff. Having the script of every tablet at your finger tips is a valuable resource.

This author writes about subjects that I believe merit real study and discussion. He does a disservice to the issues, with his mad ramblings. The one thing I learned from his book is that he needs psychological help. I am not big on medicating people, but in his case I'll make an exception.

Return of the waste of paper.......2006-07-05

This is one of the most laughabe lamely written books that I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. If you wanna read stupid stuff about how the author can just look at people and know that they are demons ect. then go ahead and waste your money the same way I did.The author is full of hatred and judgement and wants to be veiwed as a messiah. Truly worthless waste of paper.

Eye Opening Book for Truth Seekers.......2004-03-29

This book touches on topics that most will not dare tread, it's not for the faint hearted or fearful of what others may think. It's thought provoking and though I'm still chewing on some of the ideas and explainations presented, many of my questions were answered. Once reading this book, you will never look at things the same. It really is a life changing experience and satisfies that thirst for deeper knowledge of the lost truths that have been long oppressed, and points the way to find out for yourself, you don't have to take Rick's word for it. Even if a reader doesn't agree with everything presented, it will make the reader ponder and seek for himself what God has to say about such things and draw his own conslusions. I would recommend it for sure but only for the real seekers of God's truth.

A X-File Christian book.......2003-11-08

Return of the Stargods reveals how the ancient alien gods of old will soon return to establish a New World Order of satanism. The book also takes the reader though the Bible showing a vast amount of scriptures that the churches ignore or will not deal with. Scriptures reveal that there is a fifth column that lives among us that are working against God's children in establishing a New World Order as an ultimate goal. They are the ones among us that are waiting for their father to return to them as the beast who will crush all opposition to his rule. But this will not take place until the Rapture of the church takes place first.

The Bible is also very clear that a government of fallen angels now runs this earth. They run all aspects of our matrix reality and remain hidden behind a shadow government. There are strong indications in scripture that here is also royalty of non-humans called the Reptilians and Nephilim that rule over us. They are the ones that have come from hell to transform themselves into rulers of this world. The Return of the Stargods explains all this strangeness by using scripture, and not just opinions and hearsay.

This book is very deep, and not meant for shallow Christians that believe in Church doctrine and not Bible doctrine. This book is a must for those Christians that want a deeper understaning of endtimes and spiritual warfare. It will teach you how to see all the people around us for what they really are so that we can best protect ourselves from these predators. Return of the Stargods is an introduction to the reality that lies outside the religious matrix. Jesus said, "Don't be troubled" (Matt. 24:6), but you're going to be troubled if you don't know the truth. In Hosea 4:6 we're told, "My people [or Christians] are destroyed for lack of knowledge...." But if you know the truth, you're not going to be troubled because you're going to be looking in the right place.

LOOK FOR HIM The terrorist attack of September 11, 2003, has changed our world. In the final moments of the war, all will seem to be lost and the Antichrist will appear to have won—to have defeated Israel and her allies. Then, Jesus Christ will break through the clouds to return to earth with an army of saints. Christ Himself will defeat Satan, the Antichrist, and their horde.

Where will you be in that day?

When you become born again, there is no question where your destination is, where you are going. The Bible promises that you're going to go to heaven, but it doesn't promise you that you are going to make the first Rapture. Whether that happens or not has to do with your decision. So if you miss the first Rapture, that doesn't mean you're going to miss heaven, because if you have Jesus in your heart, you are going to heaven. But every Christian is not going in the first Rapture.

Some believers may want to dream that up and think it, but it's just not in the Bible. Jesus is coming for those who are looking for Him, and some Christians are not looking for anything but a new car or another woman or another man or another drink.

The purpose of this book is to prepare you to be Raptureready by illustrating God's plan for the end times and where you fit into it. When you get saved, you're promised heaven. But you make your choice of which Rapture you're going to go in. If you're not taught the Word and what God says, then you won't know the truth. But if you know the truth and you know what it is to be ready for the Rapture, and you decide that you're going to miss the Tribulation, that is your choice.

WHERE IS YOUR WALK? This is not going to be a depressing message, but it is a serious message because this is a serious time we're living in. Thousands of years ago God wrote about this time in His Word so that when we would be living in it, we wouldn't be ignorant or afraid when we see these things happen. He wanted us to know that when we have His Son Jesus inside of us, we're not a part of Satan's plan; we're a part of his ultimate defeat.

But many people don't like to study prophecy. It's confusing to them because they read some of it in Ezekiel, they read some in Daniel and in Zechariah, they read the book of Revelation, they read the three chapters in the Gospels that are very prophetic, and they think, What piece goes where, and how does this all fit together?

We'll be studying end-time prophecy in this book, and I've written it so you will understand it. I want it to be simple for you. I don't want you to put this book down and say, "This is confusing. My brain is scrambled. I don't know if I can get all this." I want you to say, "I see it. It's in the Word. It's clear," so that by the time you finish reading, you will know if you are ready for the pretribulation Rapture or not. There won't be any question in your mind; you will know.

Even if you can just get pieces of it, it will help you to know if you are part of the overcoming church or the slop along church. It will help you to know that this is the revelation of Jesus Christ and who is the true and living God. It will help you to know that we win.

I believe that as you look at this book, the Holy Spirit is going to help and encourage you, but also exhort you and challenge you, on where your walk is in God. Our world has become too dangerous a place to be lukewarm in your relationship with Him and possibly miss the Rapture. So I pray that your heart will be very sensitive to God as you read on, that He will give you revelation knowledge and open the eyes of your understanding so you will see what He has for you in this message.

marilyn hickey states that not all christians will make the "1st rapture" as she calls it. suppose someone became saved one minute before the rapture and hadn't had a chance to perfect his walk. does that mean he's not going to make the rapture. the bible says we're all saved by grace so no one can boast. i just find it hard to believe that not all saved believers will not make the rapture based on their "walk". that means that God is showing favoritism; which He never does.

Starts off good, but.............2007-10-12

This book was well written and starts off very good. However; towards the end the author has been totally deceived about George Bush. He proclaims Bush as a savior crusading against evil. The author forgets that the Bushes come from a very long line of traitors and evil doers. From Bushes Grandfather (Prescott) bank rolling Hitler and the Nazis, to Bush Sr's Drug Running in the Golden Triangle during his CIA days. Then we have little Bush, who worships Molech the Cananite God every year at Bohemian Grove.
The Author is right about a conspiracy, but doesn't realize that the same forces that put Clinton in power placed G.W. Bush there also. Which makes me question his other so called facts?

A BOOK THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE..........2007-09-12

I have read a lot of books and watched a lot of documentaries about the Biblical Prophecies, End Times, Armaggedon, etc. but this book still gave me a lot of new discoveries!! It's really amazing!! If there's 10 stars, I would definitely give it that rating. The author researched a lot. You can tell because what he/she wrote on the book, are the ones we have seen in different documentaries all around the globe. I admit that at first it's a little confusing. The Reincarnation is new because I am a Catholic, but the author clearly showed that Jesus indeed belived in Reincarnation. He even presented Bible texts regarding Reincarnation. This book is really trustworthy. I know God has a purpose why He let me read this book. There are a lot of controversies, but at the end the reader will realize that it's all connected. The words in this book are like pieces of the puzzle. At the end you'll learn the UNIVERSAL TRUTH. The texts are based from the Bible, History, Current Events, Scientific breakthroughs etc.!! I strongly believe in the writer. I know deep in my heart that God revealed the mysteries to the author. No person or writer can originally think of the revelations at this book. Besides the writer always remind the reader that it is God who revealed him the informations. He is very humble. Honestly I am thinking of ordering more copies and giving it to my loved ones and friends... I think the key to understanding this book is correlating it with all the knowledge we have(example: History, Life experience, etc.)and having FAITH IN GOD. THIS BOOK INDEED CHANGED MY LIFE! Unsure about this one.......2007-09-07

I have to admit I stopped reading this about half way. I do plan on finishing it soon though. So far a bit too much talk about "Karma" and "reincarnation" I am having a difficult time deciphering exactly what this person's stance is in regards to these pagan religions. I don't believe in reincarnation and believe it's not Christian. This author does do an interesting job of using some scripture to support what he/she is trying to say but some I think is misplaced. Truely I am undecided about this book. I have to say it started out pretty good and interesting though. Perhaps I will finish it and post more thoughts then. Right now I believe it is a mixture of truth and error.

The author writes with passion and heart. This isn't your typical work of nonfiction. The author isn't afraid to approach controversial subjects with some of the most original revelations to ever be put into print. He/she brings forth fresh ideas that would open the eyes of the most enlightened person, while maintaining a down-to-earth conversational tone that anyone can access. The writing is both eloquent and well researched. You must read this book!

I read the book Watcher. I thaught this book was really good. The description of the book was great. I recieved a vivid picture in my head of the actions and settings from this book.

There are many great parts in this book. It is really hard to choose just one good part. But if i did pick a best part it would be where the guy first turns into the werewolf. That part was really good.

Out of all the story elements the most vivid to me where the conflict and climax. The conflict was out stood because it's obvious, there's a werewolf trying to kill people and they need to kill it. The climax was really outstood because it was about a chapter long.

Not the worst, by far not the best........1998-12-27

The story's not bad, mediochre but ok; it's Charles Grant's writing style that's killing me. He uses the RA Salvatore 'one line paragraph' mechanic WAY too much. The over-use of this technique makes the reading jumpy and annoying to the eye. As well, the concept of the 'Watcher' organization, found in every SciFi series from Highlander to Buffy to VtM to now, my favorite world of storytelling, is getting a little old. There are thousands of stories out there for Werewolf: The Apocalypse, it's way too soon to be falling back on something that's quickly becoming cliche.

If you are interested in good WWtAp writing, check out the short story collections, When Will You Rage and, to a lesser extent, Drums Around the Fire. The only WWtAp novel that I feel falls into the inovative, entertaining, and well-worth-your-time catagories is the hard-hard-to-find, Breath Deeply. Do yourself a favor and track down a copy. It is original, is a multi-tribal and racial story, and there are wonderful scenes involving the Umbra and spirits that are rarely handled, much less handled well, in the written works.

There is a shelf-load of books extant about the exploits of the coastwatchers, the Allied (mostly Australian) men who, along with their Melanesian allies, hid out in the jungles of the Solomon Islands and reported on Japanese convoy and aircraft movements during World War II. But this book is one of the most important of them -- not only because, first published in 1946, it was pretty much the first -- but because its author, Commander Eric A. Felt, R.A.N., was the man in overall charge of the coastwatcher operation. So while this title may lack some of the first-person narrative power, the coastwatchers' stories in their own words, of books like Walter Lord's "Lonely Vigil," it's still hard to beat for its strategic insights and true measure of the coastwatchers' operations and importance.

A man who from civilian life was familiar with the Solomons and their residents, Feldt is generous with praise for the civilians and natives involved with the coastwatcher operation. He is also a skilled writer and storyteller. The coastwatchers played a critical, if now largely forgotten (if it was ever really even known) role in the fight for control of the South Pacific. Nearly 60 years after it was first published, Cdr. Feldt's book is still an exciting and revealing contribution to their memory.
