Book Description
I've awakened from a horrific crash to a churlish highlander, I swear stepping right off the cover of my paperback. Poor thing, you mock? Ha! These are no highlanders, but rather thirty-six hundred year old Forest Lords legend bound to protect me. Furthering my insanity is the tall gorgeous Elf obsessing I master sword fighting. Did I mention discovering I can manifest flame from my hands? A real boon when surrounded by chauvinistic testosterone.
They prepare against Lumynari hunting you.
How could I forget? Shadow seeks some Keeper's power to avenge her exile and eradicate mortals. Yeah, right.
Keer'dra!
Forgot tinsy detail. An erotic male voice--major anger management issues--now resides in my head. If he looks as velvety as he sounds, he so can be the strawberries on my cheesecake!
Emily--grrrr! The foolish mortal fails to comprehend my Lumynari brethren assassinated her three millennia ago, and will do so again. I, Prince Dezenial, son of Shadow and Hades, am now cursed. Assist in the capture of the Keeper, or answer my father's calling and become the Dark Prince, Overlord of gargoyles--guardian of mortals--guardian of the Keeper? For Emily isn't just the Keeper, she's my soulmate.

fantastic story.......2007-05-06
Though the story line was not quite what I would have expected, I was delighted with the unusual nature of the characters. The heroes of the story were quite unique, and the heroine, as stated before, was no damsel in distress! My kind of story. I had a little trouble at first immersing myself into the book as I am not accustomed to this type of fantasy/romance and the sub-plots were not immediately revealed, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I finished it in 48 hours! It was that good! I am anxiously awaiting a sequel.
Fabulous Read!.......2007-04-15
Karey E Brown has given us a heroine that every woman can relate to AND be proud of! Be prepared to fall in love with people and places you never imagined and don't be surprised if you are caught laughing out loud! Kleenex and a reading lamp are optional but highly recommended!

Captivating debut..........2007-03-12
Not just another modern woman stepping back in time kind of romance. No damsel in distress here! The twists and turns of numerous plots and how they tie together as well as the cast of strong characters makes for a fabulously fulfilling read. Get ready to enjoy the sunrise--you won't be able to put this witty, laugh-out-loud debut novel down! I loved Emily's sarcasm. I am torn, however, as to which lead male was my favorite--they both had moments when I wanted to choke them, and when they made me cheer! Ghosts, Elves, Gargoyles, Stonehenge..Demons..whew! Seems like a mouthful--nope...just like cake ingredients...it's all deliciously blended!
Highly recommended read..........2007-03-06
The advance buzz on this book has been huge - a first attempt for an author I hope we will hear a lot more from...makes for a fabulous read:)
Product Description
Perhaps in the final days of our life we are granted the wisdom to see all that could have been, and all that should have been. The price is dear for such wisdom. Diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of thirty eight, Linda Wails has only one dying wishto make amends with her seventeen year old son Corey. For years they have struggled with one another, but the time is now or never to learn anew what it means to be a mother and what it takes to be a son. Such irony, that a woman should find her true beginning at the end of her life. Such justice, that a selfish young man should find within himself a pounding heart he never knew he had. Isnt the deepest meaning found in the greatest tragedy? With all the drama that is life, it is often the quiet, peaceful dreams that are the best remembered. The Time Keeper is the story of such a dream.

Review of The Time Keeper.......2007-07-17
This book really hit home for me. I had a close family member who was dying of cancer and the author's description of the emotional and physical journey of his mother was spot on with my experience. I did not know what the book was about before picking it up to read, and therefore, was not expecting to identify with the characters. I am looking forward to Mr. Cropp's next work.
Great Read.......2007-03-06
Growing up in Fayetteville and playing baseball with Kevin this was a story that really moved me. I got the book Christmas morning, and finished it Christmas night. I am not an avid reader, and my wife couldnt believe how much I enjoyed the story. I am looking forward to the sequel, and all other books that Kevin writes.
This Book Has A Great Cover.......2007-02-16
In fact, it was partly the cover that made me want to read it. It looked unusual. Unfortunately, I don't see much, if any, correlation between the cover and the story within. Kind of strange. Strange also, are the other reviews of this book. Something smells fishy--like the same person wrote most of the reviews maybe. They are all 3 or 4 sentences and have the same tone. Odd.
Anyway, about this book...It was a very quick read as Kevin Cropp is a very efficient (and pretty effective) writer, in my opinion. The thing I most took away from this book was the wonderful, subtle message through the story that life is too short to let troubled relationships fester. Don't try to figure out why, how, how to stop, how to change, a person/relationship or how to figure out why people choose to do what they do. Just accept the one(s) you love, unconditionally, at every step, wherever they are. All else will fall in place. This book would have been even better had I had more of an interest in baseball. A good book with a simple but powerful message.
Moving, Sentimental and Special First Book.......2007-01-18
I rarely read the work of lesser known authors, but this one came recommended by a friend. The Time Keeper was a quick read and impossible to put down, a perfect book to have when travelling. The relationships between Corey and his friends, his coach, his father and most importantly his mother, aren't always comfortable, but they are REAL. Everyone's human experience is different, but I was glad I had an opportunity to catch a glimpse of Corey's, or maybe it was Kevin's if this was at all based on his own life experience. Thank you for the wonderful read Kevin!!! I look forward to your next work.
All Care Givers Need To Read This.......2007-01-03
This book is one every care giver should read for that is whom it largely addresses. As a former volunteeer with Hospice, the original Hospice, I think all care givers should be given this book. It deals with the negative side of dying and turns it into positives for both the care giver and the patient. I believe it can give insight that "cures" the disease which ravages a family that occurs when "we" don't deal healthily with dying. There are to be more books coming and I am anxious to see what Kevin does next.

Boston Light........2007-10-05
What was it like for the people who tended the lamps in lighthouses and guided ships to safety?
Thomas Knox was the son of a lighthouse keeper and had been in a lighthouse in Boston Harbor all his life. The colonists set fire to the lighthouse in 1775, to keep the British from getting it. The British repaired it, but when they left Boston, they burned it again! After the Revolution, the lighthouse was rebuilt on the same spot.
Lighthouses have been around since 280 BC, but Boston Light was the first lighthouse in America and eleven more eventually were added along the East Coast by 1776. Differences in colors and patterns helped ships navigators and captains to see where they were.
But a lighthouse keeper's life can be dangerous, when he has to climb outside the tower for repair work and rescue sailors. Lighthouse keepers were well paid, given a house, garden fire wood and opportunities to earn more as a harbor pilot. It took a special kind of person to do this job.
This book is filled with wonderful illustrations, contains a glossary and a website for more reading.

Has a different feel than others.......2002-12-12
This time around it is the guy who has a vision of a better life for the tribe and has to fight for it tooth and nail. Origional and fresh, dose,'t quite compare to "Children of the Ice", but it still is a very good read.

Not a good one for sensitive kiddies.......2006-10-22
I read this book as a young child, and it scared the living daylights out of me. I had nightmares for weeks, but eventually I forgot that the book existed until years later when the name "Boopie Cupid" popped back into my head.
Looking back, I'd say the book had a cute premise and would probably be entertaining for older elementary school-age children, especially those who already know they like fantasy books.
OK theme, ideas, execution.......2005-04-05
Given that this book was never written for grumpy old farts like myself it probably speaks in its favour that it didn't rock my world. I've just seen a few kids into her stuff, a few awards, and thought I might as well take a peek.
Nothing wrong with it - usable basic premise, appropriate humour, kid's world view. Perhaps the plaudits it's received from adults relate to the relatively subtle (compared to a lot of, "And what did we learn today, kids," style fiction) encouragement to be nice to your siblings, with the realistic presentation of unconscious nastiness that can go on. Well paced etc. Just not for Dad's Christmas stocking (unlike some other kids' books that crossover a bit more - or don't kids like the Jungle Book any more?). Does it, however, achieve its own aims?
Dunno, ask a juvenile.
Its a great book for readers, ten out of ten.......1999-06-25
It's an excellent book for people who like reading. It's about a middle boy in a family who goes to another dimension. He has to play a game called Finders Keepers. There are three seekers and they have lost something in our world and Patrick the finder has to find what they have lost. He can win prizes and he finally gets what he wants, a computer!
Hilary Kerr

Customer Reviews:
Fascinating history of early submarine construction in the Pacific Northwest........2005-10-13
Not only does this book cover the history of submarine construction in the Pacific Northwest, it also offers an interesting overview of how this early contraption "the submarine" was misunderstood and initially unacceptable to various influential groups and governmental agencies. Regardless of the struggle to achieve acceptance, the developement and progress of submarine technology steadily progressed. This work covers this struggle and also contains many construction details of the early submarines. The construction details are clearly explained and illustrated. In reading this work, I found myself drawn back into these early years and immersed in the colorful history of the submarine. This is the kind of book that anyone would enjoy, especially one who is interested in construction and naval history. Highly recommended.

A very good book for the beginner and intermediate breeder........1999-11-06
Very informative book for the beginner and not so beginner.Takes you into understandable detail about breeding and genetics of budgerigars.Though the book is a bit outdated(78)and doesn't cover the newer mutations(such as spangles)it is still quite informative. There are color photos for identifying the different color types, and BW photos of the different stages of the chicks.I would recommend this book to a beginner breeder.
