Pippa.......2001-02-06
This is an excellent book but its only suitable for people who love cheetahs and are over 10 at least. If you love cheetahs like I do your sure to love this, its about this cheetah called Pippa and she has three cubs Tiny, Somba and Big boy, they give Pippa the run around and just love to have fun. This is my faverite story and its very moving, sad, funny and absoutly irrestible!

Customer Reviews:
Distressing book.......2007-06-26
A cat shut in a car trunk and forgotten, a cat in a clothes dryer, a cat shot at by boys: these are not sweet scenarios to share with children. I found this to be a disturbing book full of careless violence to a living creature. While children's stories do not have to be filled with saccharine sugariness, they also do not need to contain uncaring episodes included for the purpose of telling a loosely constructed "story" detailing 9 ways for a cat to be killed. There are many good books available on children and their relationships with pets; this is not one of them.
A very touching book.......2006-11-22
My son brought this home from his school library and was extremely touched by this book. He is quite a sensitive child and when it comes to anyone or anything getting hurt he feels it. I initially thought he didn't want the book but I misread his reaction. I thought he was upset and didn't like the book. But, he kept saying "Order it off the internet, daddy". The page where Woogie gets chased by the boys with the BB gun has to be the most heart-wrenching page, next to where he goes missing but eventually shows up. And HOPEFULLY becomes an indoor cat!! From an engine fan, tumble dryer and boys with BB guns poor Woogie uses up his nine lives but this cat has 10!
A great book for natives and the rest of us (like my family).
This book should be a part of every Indian kid's library.......2005-04-21
As a Native American father of a two-year old and a four-year old, I often struggle to find material that presents being Indian as normal for my kids. Too often, books send the message that Indians are not normal and the things we do and wear are not normal. So I search hard for books that are culturally relevant and well-written. Our favorite (my partner is Native, too) is Joy Harjo's The Good Luck Cat, which just makes Indian kids and Indian practices normal for once without even having to center it, as so many other kids' books about Indians do.
I am a professor of Indian Studies and my partner is a Native American education professional who specializes in Native lit. We are both Yale graduates with advanced degrees. I feel awkward putting that out there, but I say it only so you understand that we are highly selective and critical, and that our endorsement of this as among the very best children's book available for Indian kids is meaningful.
We are very invested in promoting education and reading in our communities, and we think this book should be a part of every Indian kid's library. This is culturally relevant reading that Indian kids can connect with and Indian parents can feel good about. Kids of other backgrounds need to have this book in their collections, too, because they, too, need to understand that being an Indian kid is normal. And Harjo is a great author, so your kid will enjoy the story.
beautiful, simple reading experience with my child.......2002-07-23
Joy Harjo tells this story in a simply beautiful way. Wrapped in this cover are emotions and experiences that my daughter and I can joyfully follow together. I'm always glad when my child selects this as one of her bedtime stories.
Excellent picture book.......2000-10-19
This story is a touching tale of pet ownership. The unnamed narrator shares her love for Woogie (the cat) with the reader, and expresses (in both words and pictures) a very real relationship between a child and a pet.
This story is sweet without being saccharine; emotional without being overly sentimental. Harjo's gift for poetry shows in the simple but expressive text ("My dad watched Woogie's seventh life fly by him as she ran after it"), and the warm paintings show the cat's expressions in a very real way.

People teens admire talk about God.......2007-04-13
Author Amy Hammond Hagberg wanted to help teens--her own and others--answer questions about God, including the big question: "How do you know he's real?"
Hagberg wrote to sports stars, recording artists and other celebrities, asking them to reflect on their life experiences and share how the reality of God was making a difference to them personally and professionally. The responses she received--from NBA players, Christian musicians, 'American Idol' contestants and others--are honest, revealing, and often compelling.
The resulting book is a collection of celebrity essays: mini-bios that focus on the reality of God in the midst of media attention, success and failure, and broken relationships. Contributors include Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic basketball team, quarterback David Carr of the Houston Texans, and popular Christian recording artist Clay Crosse.
Some of the interviews are especially helpful for Hagberg's original target readers: teens. Among these, Chrissy Conway of 'Zoe Girl' talks about her parents' divorce, the party scene, and the twists and turns along her personal career path in ways that connect with teens and with anyone who has ever considered attempting a career in music.
Hagberg is a gifted and skilled writer who keeps readers turning the pages as she unpacks celebrity affirmations of the presence of God in their lives. A great gift book for readers from teens through Gen X, but the stories here will interest readers of any age!
Note: Reviewer Dr. David Frisbie is an author and Executive Director of The Center for Marriage & Family Studies in Del Mar, California.
Armchair Interviews says: Anything that can help teens understand their role in living a good life is good.
Celebrities share their faith.......2007-03-11
This is an ideal book to give to people who have questions about becoming a Christian, and who love sports and music celebrities.
44 extreme sports and music celebrities tell their stories in this book, from Jonny Lang (recording artist), to Barlow Girl (rock group), Kimiko Soldati (Olympic diving), CJ Hobgood (surfer), Dwight Howard (NBA player, Orlando Magic), Mick Hannah (downhill mountain bike racer), Jimmie McGuire (professional motocross rider) and more.
They share hard times they faced, how they became Christians and how their paths are more joyful due to their faith. Being a Green Bay Packer fan I turned to Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila's story of growing up in South Central Los Angeles with a tough background, a Muslim dad and a Christian mom, and how his becoming a Christian led to his current happy family life and NFL career. Christian Hosoi, professional skateboarder, after serious drug problems, is now leading a skateboarding ministry.
The two page "God's Road Map" at the end of each celebrity's story contains perceptive questions and Scriptures. Sports and music lovers will enjoy this book, and it can even be a "past watchful dragons book" that will steer doubting people on a new clear path.
god unplugged.......2007-02-02
God Unplugged by Ammy Hagberg was very interesting. It is 403 pages long and was published in 2006 by Destiny Image. In the story top athletes, musicians, and also stars tell how god helped them get where they wanted to be and changed their lives.
In the story there were 44 celebrity reflections on true life experiences with god. Many of these celebrities have been extremely low in their lives and god has pulled them out of them. Also in some cases they have had no luck in there lives and finally achieved their goals after they gave there lives god. All of these people believe that god has either given them opportunities or even the strength to work through where they were to get to where they want to be.
I thought that this was a good book. I enjoyed reading it and seeing how god has changed all of these people's lives. The strengths of this book are that it has top named celebrities that people actually want to read about. The weakness of this book is that there is nothing to find out nest so you don't have a reason to keep reading. I did like how god actually gave them the strength to continue and succeed in life. The writing was very boring to me, but I liked the idea.
The book gave a lasting effect on me because I have a saint Christopher necklace that my grandma gave to me before she passed away and that keeps me safe when I race motorcross. So, I think that god has a great power on us. I would recommend this book, it will make you think.
After reading this, you certainly KNOW he is real!.......2007-01-25
Truly, this, and the book before this, are really awesome books!
** Why?
Because they give some very good insights into other peoples way to God. Not only that, if you don't know the Bible inside and out (and even if you do, actually!), there are quotations from the Bible explaining the why and hows, depending on the story of the person interviewed.
All this, with Amy Hagbergs very nice way of writing (down to earth serious mixed with a nice blend of humor) makes this book a pleasure to read!
Personally, I strongly recommend this book to everyone. It might be those who Seek, or those who have found, it doesn't matter, in my opinion! :)
Fantastic book!.......2007-01-24
What a great book! Amy Hagberg has gathered some of today's biggest sports and music celebs to talk about how they know God is real. This book is in stark contrast to so many of today's depressing, tragedy-focused headlines. And the list of celebrities is impressive! [...]

Dealing with Death.......2003-06-20
There aren't many good books that deal with the death of loved ones - but this is one. It does deal with the death of a Grandmother, but it deals with it in a wonderful way - it shows the circle of life - that life goes on - and it is ok to be happy after the death of someone you love.

These three books are great and having them all in one is even better
A great book fun for all ages!.......1999-01-21
Garfield's Jolly Holiday three pack is a great book not only because of the great stories inside but the price and the number. I've never liked garfield except tv specials so this book is great I think.
Perfect for the holidays!.......1998-09-27
Garfield's Jolly Holiday 3-pack is a great book. It's just like the other Garfield Fat Cat 3-Packs, but it's in color. Also, they are based on television episodes of Garfield. My favorite was 'A Garfield Christmas.' I loved the price, and highly recommend it for holiday gifts.

A must have for your library..........2007-01-08
A fantastic reference book for beginners to experts. This is one book I have not regretted purchasing as I still often refer to this book for ideas. Potters will find well presented, practical information and photos for most types of surface decoration.
Scratching the Surface............2007-01-04
This book is very useful, has clear illustrations and instructions. I am a ceramic teacher and plan to use the book and some of the decorating techniques in my classes.
A must-buy for beginners.......2006-07-12
This book serves as a very good starting guide for beginners. It is so comprehensive that almost all the techniques for surface decoration are covered. It should be unparalleled if further enriched on the glaze part.
Best Guide we've seen so far.......2006-01-31
My husband and I have been doing pottery for many years and we're always picking up books to get new ideas. This one is the best we've seen in a very long time in regard to variety, unique ideas, and information provided. We highly reccommend it for anyone from beginners to experts.
This book includes everything!.......2005-09-16
this is probably the best & most informative ceramics book i have bought (and i have bought lots!). It gives great detail on every decoration method and even includes some great yet simple glaze recipies! Definitly the book i am most happy with of all the books on ceramics i have. Sure, some of the work used for examples would not be to my taste but the method is there and can be applied to anything you design yourself. On saying that there are also some pictures of really nice pieces, but i guess it covers everyones taste. A highly recommended buy at what i consider a great price for what you get! Enjoy! your 'bible' of surface treatments!

Book Description
The story is simple. It is about love, life and hope. After years of battling with the onslaught of her husbandÂ's Multiple Sclerosis, Mary stumbled on a little known doctor in New York City, Dr. Bernard Bihari. Many people were making very bold claims about his work on the Internet. They claimed that Dr. Bihari knew how to stop every type of MS from progressing. Even better, it was claimed that he could help everyone with an autoimmune disorder, ranging from psoriasis to AIDS. It was claimed that Dr. Bihari could help them with Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Eventually, MaryÂ's husband took a leap of faith and put Dr. BihariÂ's work to the test. LDN worked. It stopped his MS from progressing. Her uncle with ParkinsonÂ's Disease also tried it. Again LDN worked. It stopped his Parkinsons from progressing. Since September 2002, a world-wide campaign has ignited with passionate momentum, to get the already FDA-approved drug medically recognized for treating MS and all autoimmune disorders. LDN is cheap and has no known side effects. The ambition is for LDN to hit the masses and improve the lives of millions. The trials are near, making this a very exciting time for the LDN community and everyone who suffers from an autoimmune disorder.

If you have MS or any autoimmune disease...READ THIS BOOK!.......2007-10-11
I was diagnosed with MS in July 05 at 29. In Jan of 06 I ended up paralyzed from the waist down due to an severe exacerbation. I was not on any of the C.R.A.B. drugs at the time, but was using holistic remedies that I had read about. After getting out of the hospital I went on Copaxone. While it seemed to help, I was not thrilled about taking a shot everyday nor the $3000 a month cost of the medication. I was relentless when it came to looking for other therapies. I stumbled on this book by just searching for literature on MS here on Amazon. The book looked unassuming, but the title was too intriquing to pass up. I bought the book and read the entire thing the day I received it. WOW! I was so excited! I was having difficulty finding a Dr. to prescribe LDN as most seem to follow the standard protocol to avoid lawsuits or because of pressure from drug companies. I emailed Mary and she emailed me back and within a week I found my current doctor and have not looked back. I have been on LDN since mid April and am so thankful! My muscle spasms have decreased so much I don't have to take any other meds for them. My bladder dysfunction still persists, but is so much improved that I only take half the dosage of those pills now. And, it is SOO nice only taking a pill at night before bed than giving yourself injections everyday. Finally, the cost!! I spend $30 a month for my LDN. My costs have been cut 100 fold. If you have MS or any autoimmune disease I would encourage you to read this book. Everyone (NMSS in particular) keeps touting that an oral medication is just around the corner....IT'S ALREADY HERE AND AVAILABLE!!!!
Very interesting!!!.......2007-09-23
After 10 years of traditional therapy I decided after a lot of research to try LDN. The book was easy and enjoyable to read. Shared with my support group. This treatment has some remarkable success but little support
since trials are rarely done. It would be fantastic to have an inexpensive drug recognized for its positive benefit on chronic debilitating illnesses. We need the $$$$ signs to go out of the drug companies mentality and push to investigate and be positive on helping so many who struggle daily. Maybe more success stories need to be published.
Mary Anne Bradley is an Angel.......2007-01-30
I was recently diagnosed with MS this past June and through an incredibly fortunate turn of events,my In-Laws suggested I read Mary Anne's book...which I did. It is so well written, chock full of imperitive information that I was not receiving through the medical community, provided much insight into this desease, and at times humorous and touched me in an amazing way. Yet, I was even more touched to again have the incredible good fortune to actually meet Mary Anne and her husband Noel in person in July. To say that she and her family have been thoroughly instimental while I'm on this journey is an understatement.'Up the Creek with a Paddle' is an absolute must-read for anyone grappling with a life-altering disease, whether the person directly affected or the caregivers/family/friends. LDN has provided me with such massive help and hope and had it not been for Mary Anne Bradley, I would never have known about LDN's existance. To read this book and learn of LDN will turn your life around, to have met Mary Anne and Noel Bradley restores your faith in true Earth-bound Angels! Thanks for them both and thanks for 'Up the Creek with a Paddle' will never be enough. Mary Anne is a true pioneer and has the fortitude and tenacity that is seemingly lacking in the medical community on a whole. Her book should be a must-read for anyone going through very difficult medical challenges...not exclusive to MS. Thank you so very, very much for everything, Mary Anne!!!

Recommended!.......2006-11-06
LDN is a treatment for MS (and other autoimmune diseases) that MUST be taken seriously by the medical and research communities. Mary Bradley gives an easy to read personal account of her LDN journey on behalf of her husband who has MS. She is articulate, informed, and shares a wonderful sense of humor. Clearly she did her homework before pushing her husband to try LDN and readers can benefit from the work she did. Her ongoing efforts to get clinical trials for the use of LDN in the treatment of MS and other diseases demonstrates her compassion and dedication to others who are dealing with these conditions.
One of the most important contributions Ms. Bradley makes is the hope she gives to those suffering from MS and those of us who love them. In fact, my sister emailed her about her daughter/my niece (diagnosed with MS in 9/05)and Mary Bradley CALLED her back! She was full of hope and encouragement which meant so much to my family. Read this book! It is full of valuable information and the author really cares!
If you have MS this book is for you!.......2006-08-20
It is a well writen book detailing how hard it is to get movement
within the medical world, to approve a drug that is better than anything on the market,is generic, and is not expensive.
The medical world will not press for a medical trial, which is
quite expensive, since it will not benifit the drug companys.
LDN is the real thing. READ THE BOOK.
