This is a delight. The recipes for different effects are so clear, and the demonstration pieces show exactly what will (should) happen if you have more or less paint, do it in a different order, etc. I can't wait to make some sample pieces. It could have been even better with photos of the jobs being done, or stages and tools in the process. Very inspirational.

Sue Beevers's recipes are easy to follow & all the paints & suppiles are easy to find around your home & the local craft store. As a quilter I found this book to not only get my "juices flowing" painting delicious fabrics, but to also nudge me back to the design wall! This is an excellent addition to any fabric artist's library. Even if your time is limited, you can create beautiful fabrics very easily. Once you do one recipe you'll want to do them all! Wonderful book!

I was looking for more relaxed natural looks - if you want a good book on drying flowers, taping them to wire and arranging them then this would be a great book for that. Lots of beautiful pictures to inspire and seems to have lear instructions. Some info on the use of silica too.

Beginner's Answer to Dried Flowers.......2002-08-29

This is an excellent book. What I especially liked were the photos of the authors performing the techniques decribed. Very straight forward with lots of good project ideas. They included an extensive list of flowers, how they should be harvested, and the best drying technique for each. I've bought several dried flower books and if I'd bought this one first, it would be the only one I'd own.

Every photograph and illustration is stunning. The Gertleys have brought dried flower arranging to a level that I've never seen anywhere in any other book.

Great book with beautiful pictures.......1998-08-24

This book has everything you need for drying flowers. I made my first arrangement last weekend and it turned out well. The photography is OUTSTANDING and is a real inspiration to create beautiful arrangements. My one complaint (and the sole reason I did not give this book 5 stars) is that it doesn't provide you with alternative flowers for the arrangement projects. I was unable to find a single flower that was required for one of the projects. More information about selecting flowers would make this book a 5 star.

The best I've seen........2002-10-29

I've never written a review before, but I am compelled to do so for this book. As a clinical psychologist who occasionally works with kids, I found this book a few years ago and have used it with many parents. I must say this is simply the best self-help book available on the topic of handling child behavior problems. The programs outlined in the book are derived from behavioral research and thoroughly explained. Following the programs is a lot of work, but if followed consistently you will have great results. Thanks to the author for an excellent resource.
