I think this has to be one of the most comprehensive guides to caring for one's cat I have ever seen: it covers nutrition, aging, correcting unwanted behaviors, medical needs, and communication with your cat, among many other subjects. As a person who has lived with cats most of my life, there were eye-opening bits of information I never knew before. Overall, it is a well thought out, comprehensive book. My one teeny-tiny gripe is not about the content of the book or the information, but rather the fact that like a lot of other cat books and literature, it refers to a cat as "she" almost exclusively. As a person who has lived with male cats and female cats and is an animal lover in general, I wonder: can't we just use the word "it"? Very good book anyway ...

Excellant book for middle school students to learn how to make paper airplane designs.

The description of this book was not clear to me when I bought it. (I am an origami person, not really an airplane person.) There are directions for 12 airplanes and (about) 6 pages of paper for each plane. The pages are marked with fold lines and numbers. They are printed with bright, vivid, interesting designs on both sides of the paper. With multiple pages for each plane, this would be a great book for sharing with several kids (or adults) all making planes together. The only reason I subtracted one star is that after all the preprinted paper is used up, the instructions are mostly useless. The instructions are like "fold on line 4" which is only useful if you have the preprinted paper.

I gave this book to both my father and brother and they loved it. We have contest to see who can throw the planes the furthest. It was a good book to bring the family together.

I have had the priviledge of meeting Mr. Lammers and he told me of this new book idea, a book of miniature airplanes. I have been patiently waiting for his latest creation, the Pocket Fliers, and I am impressed with the outcome. I must say that it is the perfect stocking stuffer and I plan to give many of these unique books away as gifts this holiday season.

Very clear and interesting reading.......2007-09-10

If the topic is interesting to you then this book is one-day-and-night-reading. As soon as you start you can not put away before you finish.

We usually assume that it has been always like now, or at least that we can use the similar logic as we use now for understanding the history. There is always the background system we have to use when making opinion about new information.
For a moment just forget about the name "Atlantis" and use instead some other termin for example "The old island motherland" or something :) I mean there is too much emotions connected to the termin "Atlantis" that distracts us from the reading. Just try it.

I personally got very much information connecting different pieces to the overall image about our global history. I am grateful for this.

I take the responsibility to recommend you this book, strongly.

It looks like a cheap paperback novel,
but the argued premises for Atlantis
and where it was (is) located is
is beautifully presented.
I have read this book twice and it holds
to the same convincing information
that it had the first time I read it.
I would love to see a new edition come
out with more information plus pictures
and drawings.

This book has a few errors in it, but on the whole it has very interesting ideas in it and is a very interesting read.

I am completely shallow in some things, I understand this. I have no problem with the actual content of the book, it is a pretty good read. However, I was disappointed when I received the book because it looks so...insignificant. I don't know if it is because it is paperback, or so small, but it just doesn't look like the quality of book I like. The paper is bad, the pages are a bit yellow, and the cover is totally boring. The book itself, I would recommend, but for crazy people like me who like to have pretty books too, I would recommend looking for a different version, because this one is unimpressive...just because of that, don't overlook its quality in content, but still.

I had high hopes for this book. It sounded like such a great idea. It really is, but would have been much better summarized in a magazine article. You get the gist from the back cover. Most of the book is either the author touting how he is responsible for coining the phrase and that anyone else is only borrowing it from him; or is a lesson on the ice age and climatology - neither of which I wanted to shell out $20 for, not to mention my precious time.

Nothing short of life-changing.......2006-11-10

This book saved us. Understanding our son as a "hunter child" helped us to understand the frustration he must have felt at not fitting into a world tailored to "farmers." The book changed how we respond to him and gave us a new respect for his valuable talents. Hartmann's proposals coupled with anecdotes about his wife's successes with their own children helped us to design an approach that has turned our relationship around and skyrocketed his confidence in himself and drawn out an outstanding ability to regulate HIMSELF.

Scientific without being too hard to understand.......2006-04-16

Finally - a book on ADD/ADHD that includes scientific/medical information that is informative without being overwhelming. All too often books on ADD/ADHD are written in an overly simplistic manner that almost seems condescending to a reader's personal experience and intelligence. Kudos to Thom Hartmann for writing a comprehensive book that speaks to a reader as an equal while raising the reader's awareness to a higher level of understanding.

I loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for beyond the mainstream perceptions of what is currently referred to as "ADD" and "ADHD".
