On the footprints of Rev. August Hermann Francke.......2004-01-18
I trekked on author's step on 2003 from Spiti to Ladakh. Francke'spersonal narrative was first published in 1914 and is an archaeological survey of the districts which once formed the kingdom of Western Tibet.
These mountainous regions, then belonging to the Indian Empire, and therefore indicated as Indian Tibet had never been explored by any scholar combining a knowledge of local history and antiquities with a thorough acquaintance of Tibetan. The author Dr. Franck acquired these rare accomplishments in the course of his many years in in Ladakh and Lahul.
Starting from Simla on the 14th June, 1909, he traveled up to Satluj Valley through the hill-state of Rampur-Bashahr, and crossing through Pharang Pass, and mountain passes the Phologongkha Pass and the Thagland Pass reached Ladakh, the real center of the ancient realm of Western Tibet. After a brief stay at Leh, the ancient seat of the Gyal-Po rulers of that country, Dr. Francke traveled westwards and after crossing the Photho La, Namika Pass, and the Zoji La, reached Srinagar on the 16th of October.
This journal of his four months travel bear ample evidence of the spirit of the explorer who was animated by the true enthusiasm of the scholar. This journal made very important additions to our knowledge of the archaeology and history of Indian Tibet.

The blood war set has overall the coolest looking d&d miniatures than all the others. Some of the rares arn't all too interesting but the rares such as the Horned Devil or the Owlbear make buying a few of these boxes worth it.

A Great Witnessing Tool With a Different Approach.......2007-03-30
Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort have teamed up to produce what I think is a great witnessing tool. May authors use the approach that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life will make you feel happy and fulfilled in this life. Instead, Cameron and Comfort use the Old Testament Law (10 Commandments) to show how EVERYONE at some point and time in their life has broken at least one of the commandments and is danger of God's judgement. Additionally, the emphasis is also on the next life since we will spend far more time in heaven or hell than here on earth.
We had this course taught at our church and the basic class format is as follows: go over what we learned from the previous week's assignment, watch the DVD that goes with the book, discuss the DVD, and go over next week's assignment.
The book's chapters are as follows:
1. Cultivating Compassion for the Lost.
2. Discovering Hell's Best Kept Secret.
3. Learning to Overcome Fear.
4. Practicing What You Preach.
5. Crafting the Message.
6. Answering the Top Ten Questions.
7. Exposing the Myth of the Modern Message.

If you or your church are looking for another witnessing tool, this is an excellent one to consider.

Great.......2006-08-30
This is really a great product. I had read a commentary by Ray Comfort and his approach to evangelism online and I bought this book and cds after investigating his website. What a powerful and useful approach to those who need to hear the message of Christ. I bought this along with Ray's book as a kit. This CD kit is an 8-part series on "The Way of the Master" that is basically the video series on Biblical Evangelism in sound-only form. It is a real bargin, although I would invest in the videos if I was teaching this to a class. It thoroughly walks you through breaking down the barriers that people have to hearing someone share their faith and it helps you to break down your own fears in sharing your faith. I look at this as another great tool that God is providing to reach people for Him. I strongly recommend this to anyone who feels the fire within but is worried about how to reach those around them for Christ.

A quick scan of this book shows it is both user-friendly and practical. All subjects are easy to find with excellent suggestions for both evaluation and follow-through. It is easy to use for both professional and lay person alike. Each category (loneliness, guilt, anger, depression, etc.) includes specific actions/behaviors to help the individual address the issues involved. I recommend this book highly.

Great baby shower gift!.......2007-09-10
I wish someone had loved me enough to give this to me at my baby shower. This is a great book and wonderfully easy to read. OK maybe the baby shower is a bit early, but I would definitely recommend it for parents of toddlers and older. I ordered a copy for my best friend. I had always heard about respecting your kids so they'll respect you, but never the real "how to's". This book gives what you need.
An amazing book that will change the way you look at parenting........2007-08-22
For most parents, it is just anough to make it through. They are not looking at the long term and the fact that they are shaping the life of a future citizen of the world (and hopefully heaven). Many parents, even Christian ones, miss the mark in parenting because they forget that God teaches that discipline is a neccassary part for maturity. If children do not learn discipline at a young age, they will have a hard time coping with stress in the future, or dealing with people in general.
This book teaches you how to raise your child Biblically, and how to train them so that when they head out into the world they will not ultimate fail. This book tackles such subjects as attitudes of entitlement, how to teach your child to respect boundaries of others, and how to teach them how to deal with other children.
I have a read a lot of books, and few books have shed the light onto why so many people behave the way that they do today. So, if you have problems dealing with people and you want to understand the roots of it, or you have children (whether your own or ones you watch) then you should read this book. It will change the way that you view childr-rearing and will dramatically improve your results.

I finished reading the book in no time. There are several interesting stories in this book. However, many opinions listed in this book are just common sense to me.
The Best Parenting Book Out.......2007-05-11
This is without a doubt the best parenting book I have ever read! I am a Pastor and a Foster Parent and have greatly benefitted by putting these principles into practice. I know if these principles work with kids who are troubled and come from broken homes, they will work with any children.
I especially appreciate the way the authors emphasize how teaching children boundaries when they are young will set them up for success as adults. They focus on the value of teaching children life lessons while the cost is low so they don't have to learn them as adults when the cost is so much greater. I would recommend this book to anyone with kids regardless of their age.

This is by far the most amazing parenting book I have EVER read. I have a two year old and an infant and feel much better prepared to raise them to serve God in their lives.
I can't stop talking to my friends about how practical, simple, and easy-to-apply the principles of this book are - I'm reading the book again because it is so full of great information that I have to absorb it for a second time.
I do believe that this book has to be put into practice BEFORE a child reaches their teen years, simply because that is a time when children become adults and it could be more difficult to apply boundaries only if you have not started the boundaries when they were young. If your child is a teen already, this book might just frustrate you because it will make you wish you had started earlier...just to be honest.

Architect Bruce Goff (1904-1982) is recognized as one of the 20th century's great creative geniuses. The spatial and textural qualities of his work can now be better understood and enjoyed with the release of "Bruce Goff: 3 Houses," a packet of 21 full-color three-dimension photographs on three View-Master reels.
Each reel contains 7 interior and exterior views of one of Goff's extraordinary houses: The Ford House (1947; Aurora, Illinois), The Bavinger House (1950; Norman, Oklahoma) and The Joe Price House and Studio (1956-1974; Bartlesville, Oklahoma), known as Shin'enKan, which was completely destroyed by fire in 1996. Included in the packet are notes on Goff's work contributed by architect Malcolm Holzman, and thoughts by Goff himself on the nature and limits of photography.

Brilliant Use of Forgotten Medium.......2001-08-06
Michael Kaplan has done a very impressive job using 3-D photography in exploring the wild Frank Lloyd Wright on acid exteriors/interiors of Bruce Goff homes. All the photos (seven per reel/home) exploit the simulated depth of the 3-D camera with a deep focus that allows a better insight on the construction of these unusual homes. The spiral staircase in the Bavinger House will almost make you gasp.
These make a great conversation piece for the home....

I live in Bartlesville, OK and so was lucky to visit Shin'enKan twice before it was tragicly destroyed. The second time was a long Christmas party several weeks before the fire, where we had a evening-long chance to get a feel for what a Price party might has been like - including a chance to lounge in Mr. Price's study. These views bring it all back and show the similarities between Shin'enKan and other Goff works.

This is a super cool idea and Goff is the perfect architect to start a series/craze such as this. If you don't buy these reels, at least check out some traditional publications on Bruce Goff.

As a former student of Michael Kaplan, it is no surprise that he would produce such a wonderful piece of work which captures the essense of what architectural photography should be. With the only 3D photographs of some of Goff's incredible work in existence, Michael looks *into* Goff's architecture with his lens, creating a spatial experience for the viewer like none other. This Viewmaster based publication is a must have for anyone's library or studio. The packaging is crisp and the graphics an appropriate study in restraint. Order one for a friend.
