After purchasing the first book in this series, I expected to find many more crystal creations in the second book since there were so very many in the first. I was disappointed but only because I am primarily a crystal jewelry maker. The patterns were lovely. Just not what I was looking for.

I'm an experienced beader and these instructions are difficult to follow, the pictures with the faded parts help some, to follow the thread paths, but I certainly wouldn't reccommend this book to someone that has problems following directions without someone to show them how it's done or the inexperienced.

I've been tinkering with beads for a few months and have taken 2 beginner classes. This book really helped with ideas for projects on my own. I've loaned it to friends who have also loved it!

I don't mean to be the naysayer, but......................2007-07-27

this book has beautiful colors and interesting designs. However, as has been mentioned by only a few other reviewers, the directions are a bit sparse. I can follow them, but could use a little more detail. My biggest disappointment was in the photography. The pictures are done in what is, I guess, an "artistic" interpretation - a small portion of each piece of jewelry is clear and the rest is blurry. The technique reminds me of what a movie maker might do if he or she were trying to make an 80 year old person look 22 - a LOT of haze! Quite a few other reviewers mentioned how visual they are, as am I, and yet I didn't see much mentioned about the photography. I love to see pictures of the beautiful work of jewelry artists - the colors, the sparkle of the crystals, the play of the light on the beads - I can't see any of this in the pictures. Maybe I will like the book more after I make some of the projects. However, I will not be buying any more books in this series.:(:(

Five stars is not enough!.......2007-02-23

I have quite a few beading books, buy the current beading magazines ,,and attend the big beading shows.
Oftentimes,, I questioned if this was a good thing for creativity ~that is, to see so much other work that it may influence my work, which is something I dont really want.

I am interested in technique.

NOTHING prepared me to see how easy it was to " weave" beads together by simply following a thread pattern to create the most stunning forms, motifs and shapes!!!! Anything that is used ..lets say.. for a ring center,, can just as easily be used for a pendant or bracelet, its so workeable and the ideas just flow once you get started!!
I have not seen such creativity in a long LONG time!

In many of the books and magazines I currently own, all weaving forms have names~ and they make it look very difficult.

I find this method to be a very easy process, not unlike following the numbers( but ,instead , you are following the lines!)
Most of the work involves simple figure 8 circles, but have the lines drawn for you to follow.

I had no trouble sorting it out ,and am creating larger charts for some projects simply by enlarging them ~(but its not necessary.)

I hold up most any book I am working out of in a book holder designed for recipe books ,and I chose to have this book spiral bound, which cost me about 3$ at Kinko's.

No book I own is perfect.
I would rather have more offered with smaller charts that I can choose to enlarge~
Keep in mind this book packs a lot into it,, having more" motif" patterns here is my first choice~( and they are lovely to do up!)

I would recommend a BEGINNER look at a 101 beading book, so crimping and BASIC techniques are learned first.( I am speaking about a TRUE beginner here!) Additional reading is suggested on using your good cutters for things like memory wire rings ( in other words read up on it or you may destroy a pair that may have cost you some good money!)
The author does take into account that the reader knows basic 101 jewelry techniques ( and I DO mean basic,not much more is needed here)

All simple tape measures or rulers include metric measurements as well as inches listed on it, so if you want the exact measurement of a given project this should not be a problem at all.

I am a visual person ,,so this is not difficult for me to follow ~

Those that need WRITTEN directions may have more difficulty.
I would rather see something ,,,,that read something.

The designs are breathtaking,, and relatively easy to execute~

Once you get the idea, your creativity will realize no boundries!!!

Once I got the hang of it, I could formulate ideas of my own,, and figure out designs ,,,which is exactly what I wanted!
I really want to learn the techniques and go from there with my own bead/finding choices ~

Simply said,,I could get rid of of most of my other beading resources,,,, and STILL not be at a loss for ideas using this set of books!
I do a little wire work, and have some jigs for that,, but its not my first love, beading is.

Before I clean out my studio, I plan to order books 2 and 3 to add to this collection~ (I ordered book 4 with this one and its simply STUNNING!)

I originally saw Bead Fantasies IV in the local library. After checking it out, I had to buy it. Then I saw the previous 3 books by the same author and immediately put them on my wish list. Today I got the first and 4th one in the mail!

Worth the money! The first book has several examples of rings and more (but I was bowled over by the rings). The basic instructions in the back helped me to figure out a few problem spots that I have had while trying various patterns from other sources. This was impressive for me! In just a few minutes the pictures in the back of Bead Fantasies sorted the whole mess out!

If you like bead weaving and pieces that look like flowers and sparkle, this whole series of books by Takaki Samejima is worth buying!

I have bought the Bead Fantasies series (also II and III) is, for me, the very best beading project book.
Beautiful, not difficult. The instructions are easy to read and follow.

This is by far the best jewellery book I have bought. The jewellery is lovely and is quite different to other American beading books I have bought. the main techniques used in this book are bead weaving, bead stringing and the right angle weave (what she calls 'figure eights' in the book.)However, most of the projects use 2 needles which beginers or people used to 1 needle methods might find confusing. i wouldnt recommend this book to complete beginners, but anyone with beading experience would be able to complete the projects in this book

I began beading about six months ago and really needed a resource on how to make necklaces. I bought Bead Fantasies IV and it gave specific intructions on how to make the beautiful necklaces (and other jewelry). I would highly recommend it to novices and experienced beaders.

I am very happy about ordering this book after reading the great reviews from other readers. I also ordered 2 additional books from Ms Takako and I am very pleased. I have seen and also bought a beaded ring kit from a bead store in NYC, but is was the first time I find out about the books in AMAZON.I still have to order the the last of her books and I can't wait to get it.I went to the bead store and got all colors and sizes of crystal beads for my new creations.

The Bead Fantasies are chock full of pretty pictures, sure to fire up the imagination. The directions sometimes lose a little in translation. These books are NOT FOR BEGINNERS!

If you're a serious beader, then this series is a must have. The designs in this book are totally different than your typical bead books. There's quite a few challenging designs that will leave you feeling satisfied once the projects are complete. I wish there were more bead design books like this one!

this will not disappoint you either! Her first book was the first I ever bought, when I started beading. Loved it, then loved the second one, and third one is no different. If you're a beginner it might take you a little longer to figure out her instuctions, but once you pass that, it is easy to follow.

I bought Sidetracked Home Executive in 1983 and I did the program. It worked for me as a mother of two young boys. I bought SHE as a gift for a newly-wed friend and "Get Your Act Together" for me. I read the book and laughed and cried as I related to the sisters stories and tricks and tips for those of us who are born disorganized. I like the new format for the card system. I can't wait to set up my box for my new stage in life--empty nest. If you buy both books life I did--read the GYAT book first. This will save you a lot to time when you do your card system. Read the SHE book second and laugh with these two crazy sisters.

Life Changing Book!.......2007-02-14

No, kidding. This book changed my life. I am chronically disorganized and although I still hate organizing and housework, I now find it bearable because I have a weekly plan and daily routine. I follow the plan in the book in a loose and flexible way and still manage to stay basically on track. I like the fact that you can structure it to meet your individual needs. I've read many organizing books and have come to the conclusion that there are three basic areas to organize: your time, your "stuff" (like your home and paperwork) and your money. This book does a great job tackling time management with it's index card system, daily routines and weekly plans. It also makes decluttering a priority and 1st step towards true peace of mind and order in your life. For me it has taken three favorite books and almost 2 years to get on track. I love The Organizing Sourcebook for organizing "stuff". It's very thorough and also has a step-by-step plan for decluttering your home and getting it organized. Sink Reflections (the Fly Lady book) is great for both time management and organizing and decluttering your things. I use the basic plan in Get Your Act Together and embellish it with Sink Reflections routines and lists. I found the lists and routines in Sink Reflections to be more thorough and applicable to my life, but that's not to say that Get Your Act Together won't be perfect as it is for someone else. I highly recommend this book to anyone who really wants to get organized and stay that way!

Was very pleased with quality of book and service to get to me. Great timing to my house! Love ordering books with Amazon. After reading the book, I realized that it has some good ideas, but there is a lot of cooky stuff too. First time invented philosophies of sort of alter egos to confront. A little too strange for my taste. But some really good organizational ideas. Thanks.

These are actually repeat purchases I have followed Pam & Peggy's philosophy for many years and now do some consulting and wanted a spare book to be able to lend out without risking loosing my original. Great tool to have a peaceful home.
