The book had a lot more information for breederds than for beginners,
but the information that a beginner could use, was very good.

This book is exactly what it says, Quick and Easy. The chapter on white spot was a real life saver for our betta. We followed the instructions and quess what? It worked.

This is an awesome book that tells you how to take care of bettas. It tells you information on feeding,housing,ilnesses, and different types of bettas. Bettas are much easier to care for if you read this astonishing informational book about bettas. This book even helped me cure my betta from an illness called Ich. Buy this low-price book if you plan to own a betta.

Decent book, less appealing information.......2005-12-15
Most of the book was very helpful to get my young niece to understand the care of the dwarf hamsters, but I had to correct a few things for her, for instance, they suggest pine or cedar bedding for them, although they do mention that cedar MIGHT not be the best choice, either of these materials are extreemly inappropriate for any small animal, bird, or reptile. They also suggest giving daily fruit treats, I have to disagree, while this is fine for syrians (goldens, etc...), dwarf hamsters are much more likely to develop diabeties, so PLEASE watch the sugar intake, even of natural sugars like fruit.

This book is a good Hamster Care Guide,but I suguest getting a picture Hamster Care guide instead of this.Why?This book has paragraphs and more paragraphs,not a lot of pictures or small details.So much reading!!Ah!!!If you hate to read so much,get another Hamster Care guide.Cause this one has....a lot of words.Other than that,the information are great!

Being a new pet mouse owner, I got this book in the hope that it would give me detailed info on how to tame and train them. It didn't. It is mostly about how to feed and care for them, which I had already learned from the Pet Store. The chapter on taming/training was small without any useful info on how to accomplish these tasks.
Not worth the money!

I made the hand warmers and the chunky scarf, both fairly easy but fun patterns. The pictures are nice and the other tidbits, like recipes and ideas, are quite enjoyable. Overall, one of the knitting books I would keep rather than borrow from a friend.

To be clear - you aren't going to make most of these projects in a weekend, however the projects are really wonderful. I've made a number of items from this book - the patterns are clear and photos make it easy to follow.

This book is filled with easy weekend knits that cover the gamut. Sometimes with these sorts of books there are a load of scarves, gloves, socks and hats. Not with this book. It has simple sweaters, ponchos, and home wears (and of course some gloves, socks, and hats). Most of the patterns are also timeless classics.
The instructions are easy to read and follow (even for a novice). The book has lovely pictures that show you the end product from many different angles. The descriptions of non-standard stitches are amazingly clear. You'll find yourself referencing this book whenever you need a quick gift.

This book was such a blessing to me during my first pregnancy and delivery. I think every woman, married, single with or without children should read this book. It has clearly defined scriptures to build or strengthen your faith no matter how much faith you have when you start. I read this book over and over during my pregnancy and spoke out loud the appropriate confessions each day leading up to my delivery. I was very blessed and you will be too!

It's almost unbelievable to envision painless childbirth, but Ms. Mize's stories are believable. She writes with a candor and rawness that shows us not to think her sappy or sentimental for one moment. She is seeking her Savior with no obstacles. This small book gives the prayers and promises she uses to increase her faith and dares the reader to deepen their own faith.

The Best Birth/Christian Book, Hands Down!.......2007-04-24
After the many many books I've read, between secular and Christian, this is THEE best book and I recommend it to ANY woman who is having a child, even if this is your 3rd or more! It's also going to make a great in-church bible study and I believe God will fire up a revolution from it's pages.
This book covers all the bases. It not only covers the basics about the physiological stages of development, symptoms and nutrition, it gives encouragement and how-to's to draw on God's love and His amazing design of life. The most important premise to remember is this: No matter what kind of birth you go through, the labor and trials of birth (and it's graces) are put in place BY GOD to bring you closer to Him, and in this, every birthing woman (and hopefully her husband too!) will be filled with the Joy of His good pleasure.

As a first time expecting mother, I wanted to read a childbirth book that had Christ as the center. Well this is it! It gives practical aspects of preparing for childbirth withouth losing the focus on our Creator!
Scripturally Sound Encouragement.......2006-05-07
I am a doula and mom of five. I read Christ Centered Childbirth during my fifth pregnancy. After reading the book, I am telling everyone about it. (I've lent it to several gals already.)I will also include this book in every baby shower gift I buy from here on out. It is a must read for every woman of childbearing age with a uterus! Every woman should know the biblical truth about her birthing abilities through Christ.
This book is great for husbands too. SO often a husband falls into the backround during birth..but this book gives them the scriptural understanding and back up to help comfort them during the birthing process too. Mrs. Townsend doesn't focus so much on the mother that she leaves out the "two shall become one" part. And by giving them the scriptural references, it helps keep them united with their wives and up holds them as the spiritual head ---as God intended.
This book is informative without being pushy. This book is encouraging without teaching a false doctrine or using a name-it-and-claim-it attitude. This book just gives you God's Word...and by doing so, it equips you with the knowledge and encouragement that you need to trust God and bring Christ into the center---where He belongs.
It's not promising a painless childbirth. It's not promising a deep spiritual experience. It doesn't feed you hype about how faith will make you achieve a natural un-medicated birth. It DOES give you the scriptural encouragement to trust God's will, timing, plan and purpose for your birth. It does give you the scriptural references and the prayerful encouragement to set aside fear and anxiety. It does encourage you to get involved in your healthcare, deepen your relationship with your spouse, build you up for the task of motherhood, call you to dust off your bible and strengthen your walk with the Lord.
It encourages fellowship with other women, your spouse, your doula...but most importantly with Christ.

A Must-Read For Expectant Moms!.......2006-04-19
I came across this book after searching for something to help me deal with the fears I had created after my 4th birth. I can't say enough about how incredibly helpful Christ-Centered Childbirth was in the preparation for my 5th baby (and first home-birth!). It was unlike any secular or Christian material I had read in the past (and I read A LOT).
Ms. Townsend does a fantastic job of explaining the physical aspects of birth as well as revealing biblical insights about God's design for birth and the power of allowing God to be in control of everything - including birth.
This book made a tremendous difference in my labor and birth and I experienced a closeness to the Lord I had never known -during childbirth or otherwise!
I highly recommend this material for any expectant woman as well as birth professionals.
I also recommend Jennifer Vanderlaan's "The Lord of Birth" as a wonderful companion to this book.
Thank you, Ms. Townsend, for this God-inspired material that all Christian women should read to more fully understand birth from a biblical perspective. And, thank you for showing me the beauty of having my own Christ-Centered birth.
Amazing Book!.......2006-03-27
I was given this book by my friend and doula after announcing that I wanted my 4th baby to be born at home. I read through it quite quickly and loved every moment! It is a book I think every Christian woman should read before venturing into labor! I wish I had this book back in 2000 when I was pregnent with my first baby! All I can say is buy it and read it and you won't be sorry. -Especially if you are fearful of birth- You will discover that God is in control and is with you. Also it is importnat to not be fearful b/c there are real reasons mentioned in this book that can negatively effect your labor!
There should be more books out there that address the fact that Jesus is Lord over all- including birth! This book can even be a Bible Study at your church. If you read it, you can be sure it will be a continuous shower gift for every girlfriend in the future!
