Book Description
Far away in the deep rolling ocean lived Smiley Shark. Smiley Shark longed to dip and dive, jiggle and jive, dart and dash with a splish and a splash with all the other fish; but whenever he smiled at them they swam away. But when all of the other fish are trapped in a fisherman’s net, it’s up to Smiley Shark to find away to free them—and he saves the day with his big, toothy smile!
Customer Reviews:
I think I like this more than my child does!.......2007-05-19
I absolutely love this book. It has become my favorite to read to my sea-life obsessed [...] out of the many books we have. The story is adorable, the illustrations are wonderful and overall it is definitely 5 stars in our book.
Good for calming fears.......2007-01-16
I bought this book for my 4 year old son. He used to loves sharks, but a few months ago developed a strong fear of them. For a month straight, he was afraid to go to bed because he said he got "bad nightmares" about sharks. He would toss and turn and cry out in his sleep, so I know that he wasn't just trying to stay up later. As soon as I read the description for Smiley Shark, I thought it sounded perfect.
I am happy to report that he loves the book and was willing to believe that the shark was just smiling and not scary. The illustrations are bright and cheerful; he loves the expressions on the various sea creature's faces.
Great preschool read.......2005-02-18
My preschoolers love this book. Smiley shark is a great book for learning about the ocean or talking about teeth or just having fun reading. The story line is simple. All the creatures are scared of Smiley Shark until one day he saves them from a fisherman's net and they all become his friend. the Story is wrote very nicely and the art work is wonderful. I have read this book several time to the children and they often will ask to read it again. Another great book is "Shark Trouble," About two monkeys trapped on small seperate islands with sharks swimming around the islands. All the kids love the shark books.
Sharky's book review.......2003-12-08
This is a great book for children to read or for parents to read to their children. This book installs a mentality into a childs thoughts that no matter what others think or say or do, you can alwayus be a good person and help others. It also means that what you think is a handicapp now could help you or your friends later on down the road. This is a great book for begining readers or for parents just reading to their children.
Great Book.......2003-11-28
Our 2.5 yr old son has a love/hate relationship with sharks. Loves them, but is also scared of them. I got him this book to help him overcome his fear of sharks (they always seem to be in his closet or under his bed at night - thank goodness our dog can sleep in his room & "eat" the sharks).
We've had the book less than 24 hours & we've read it to him at least 6 times already. He thought it was sad that the others would not play with him. Now he just loves sharks.
It's a very bright & colourful book that also names a few of the fish. It's great considering our son also loves watching Finding Nemo.
Book Description
The seventh book in the ever-popular "And Then Jack Said to Arnie . . . " series, "And Then Tiger Told the Shark . . ." brings out of the locker room and onto the first tee a delightful treasury of great true golf stories from golf pros, commentators, celebrities, and fans. This engaging collection of golfing lore and legend will charm golfers around the world.
Customer Reviews:
A little disappointing.......2003-12-08
I really don't get why Don Wade is regarded as golf's master story teller. For a man with as much experience as him I would have thought he'd have a few juicier stories to offer than the rather lame anecdotes printed here. Most of the time I turned a page eager to discover how the story ended only to find that it already had.
Don Wade does it again!.......1999-09-27
I don't know how he does it, but Wade consistently gets the best stories from the best golfers. And it's not just the big names or seniors players - he's got Se Ri Pak and Tiger Woods as well as Norman, Nicklaus and Ballesteros. Another great read.

Book Description
This true story of one of the world's great unsolved murder cases begins one quiet day in Australia in 1935 when a giant Tiger shark, on display in the Coogee public baths, coughs up a tattooed arm. What follows is a spellbinding tale of detection set in the 1930s Sydney underworld. Sixty years later, author Alex Castles, a professor of law and a graduate of the University of Chicago, thinks he might know the solution to a riddle that has baffled police and scientists for decades.
Customer Reviews:
Crime and Coincidence.......2000-12-31
I bought this book at the Police and Justice Museum in Sydney, Australia and it's a doozy! Let me just say that the writing's not great, as the author's a law professor, and he's a plodding sort. But the story is truly unblievable: an infamous murder is solved because a shark that's caught for an aquarium gets sick and barfs up the tatooed arm of a murder victim who was dismembered and dumped in the ocean. Even the ocean sometimes tells...
A terrific read and travelogue of the Rocks area of Sydney. It was so engrossing that I actually stayed up all night in the hotel to read it. If you stay in the Rocks (Sydney's birthplace and the central location for visiting the Opera House, The Mutiny-on-the-Bounty Bounty ship replica, the Harbour Bridge, the Observatory, the Museum of Contemporary Art, etc.) then you'll want to add this prickly piece of the past to your travel book reading. After I read it, everywhere I went in the gentrified Rocks smacked of some unsavory act in the past; I even discovered my favorite spot for photographing Luna Park was the very spot were the master criminal in the book was killed! Chilling! This book reveals the criminal history of the Rocks that sprung up from its port o'convicts beginnings and has all but disappeared today, except in architectural touches (Like a glass court room door from the era in the book, is now in an antiques shop). Cool Stuff.

Provides the first complete set of industry standards addressing the recreational use of aircraft. This new publication represents a major milestone for the recreational aviation industry. Fifteen ASTM standards, the first developed by a non-government agency, solely address the recreational use of aircraft. They cover the design, quality, manufacture, and use of the aircraft and were developed to support the worldwide government regulatory structure for aircraft known as ultralights, microlights, and light-sport aircraft. This compilation is a valuable resource for aircraft manufacturers, airpark and aircraft regulators, aircraft maintenance facilities, airpark and light sport aircraft owners, and recreational aircraft service providers worldwide.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent resource for landscape designers and landscape architects.......2007-02-17
This book should definitely be on the shelf of anyone who designs landscapes unless you have already mastered all there is to know about plan graphics. The first edition of this book was very good, but the second edition is even better. The only reason I gave it a raing of four stars rather than five is that it contains only a very brief section about color rendering, a topic that deserves much more attention than Bertauski gives it. But it's still a great book even with that imperfection.
Perfect building blocks for landscape plan graphics.......2006-06-21
We used this book in Landscape Design at my college. It is an essential tool for the basics of plan graphics and design layout. It focuses on keeping the design clean and professional. I STRONGLY recommend this book to any first year Landscape Design student, or any professional who needs a good reference tool.
Even better than the Excelent first edition.......2006-04-30
This book doesnt' fail in maintain its focus on very practical aproach of the subject. It adopts a direct and easy to follow language and tips: Doesn't pretend to be artificially academic, intends strongly to help the beginners on their careers as the veterans too. Would be obvious that all books dealing with the same subject should present top quality on editorial design, but in many cases it's not true. This book, instead, cares a lot about its graphic presentation. The 2nd edition shows even better layout and more useful photos and drawings than those already great found on the previous edition. Covering decently the computer aplications on landscape renderings, it counts 264 pages: almost double comparing to the competing books and it's clearly cheaper, available at a fair price. My favourite in Landscape rendering field.
Book Description
This book describes how to create a residential landscape plan drawing for presentation. Clearly written and highly illustrative, it takes advantage of tips and techniques that many designers have learned over the years. It serves as a resource for ideas, illustrates the use of symbols and textures, and also includes a section on the use of computer software in landscape drawing. Topics include presentation graphics, tools for accurate plan drawing, line drawing, good lettering, symbol drawing and symbol category descriptions, defining the ground plane (turf, hardscapes, mulch, and groundcover), plan drawing, color techniques, section-elevation drawing, and computer graphics and landscape drawing software. For residential landscape designers and architects.

First time landscape designers.......2007-05-07
This book is ideal for people starting out in the landscape design area.
It has helpful drawings and ideas.
It lets one know the basic instruments one needs to get started.

not enough.......2006-11-06
hi chaps, the book it is not too bad it shows you everething about how to design, plans elevations etc... but i bought the book because I was interested in graphic symbols and the wasn't enough so I return the book.
Even tough a good book for a person how is looking the get in the stage of learning the process of drawing.
I too only wish I had gotten book sooner.......2004-10-26
This book is great. I am a junior landscape architecture major, and my introductory classes skipped over the important basic details. Even though I've caught onto the basic skills over time, this book is a great reference and I'm still finding new things. This book is very easy to follow and a has a few pages of colored pages so that you can see his marker and colored pencil examples. I would most definitely recommend this book!!
Great Book!.......2004-05-31
Great book, this guy knows what he's talking about.
Great design graphics. Great information. All in one easy to read text.
Rock on Tony.
Did I say this book is great?
