Warm feline book.......2003-02-14

This book is a real gem for a cat lover. It is gentle, and does bring an occasional tear to ones eyes. It's full of the incredible healing nature of cats. It acknowledges that the cat is a mysterious, loyal creature and is full of purrfect sayings. This is a treasure, I read before bed. Snuggling with my own felines. It is a warm place and a great book.
If you are feeling world worn its a good place to rest for awhile, reading about something you understand.

A sensitive way of viewing life..........1998-11-22

Being a cat-lover and having read many books about cats, it was with great delight that I read this absolutely different piece of reading!! The idea of transfering experiences with cats to human beings transforms every story into a trip to our most intimate feelings... It is one of the most beautiful books I`ve ever read! I wish I could publish it here in Brazil... Many Brazilian cat-lovers who don`t know English would be able to enjoy it too... Thank you for the wonderful moments I had.

This is a great meditation book for cat lovers as well as for those who like to apply Bible verses to their life. You can read just one meditation per day, or read a lot, whatever you're in the mood for. I received it for my birthday and plan to buy one for another friend's birthday. Refreshing. Uplifting. Amazing. Heart-warming. Unique. These are just a few of the words that come to mind when I try to describe this book. I have never written a review here before, but I simply had to rave about "Meditations for Cat Lovers." Many first-rate devotionals are inspiring and bring a tear to the eye, but a page-turner? I couldn't put it down! In fact, it is a gripping story about a woman's inner struggles as she moves through a year of her life, and how her cat taught her some valuable lessons. Lessons I am so glad that Ms. Hansen-Doying has shared with the rest of us. I read it cover-to-cover in three days. Now I guess I will have to read it again the proper way. I will be giving this wonderful little book to all of my loved ones this Christmas, and you should, too!

This is a beautiful and most informative book detailing the work of Saint-Cloud, the oldest porcelain manufacturer in Europe. Saint-Cloud was the first company in Europe to be able to mimic the Oriental type of porcelain.

There are 8 essays by different authors on various aspects of Saint-Cloud. These include the history of European porcelain, design influences, manufacturing techniques and the workings of the Saint-Cloud company.

Over 130 pages of exquisite color photos display a comprehensive collection of Saint-Cloud production from about 1700-1760. I especially enjoyed the objects with molded & hand-applied decoration & the colorful figurines.

Captions give basic information on the pictured items but the following section presents a very detailed analysis of each piece. This is a fascinating book to browse and a great resource for the scholar or collector.
