I read the book "cats" by: David Alderton and this book tells everything from kittens being born to the ancestry of these felines. This book has facts about every cat just about and their body weight and lots more. This book has everything on them, whether it's just for your pleasure or for the facts this books got it. I loved this book I thought it was very good, it has a lot of very good information and facts, it also has over 700 colorful pictures.
This book tells you anything and everything about cats. It's a great book for children to learn about both domestic and exotic cats and kittens. This book helps you with your decision on buying or adopting a cat and picking out which one's right for you. It talks about how to groom them this book even tells you which breeds of cats always win shows and awards and how to win one with your feline. It tells you how many months it takes before a kitten is fully weaned off its mother's milk and doesn't need its mother anymore.

I've owned this book (the eyewitness edition, actually) for years, and it's still the best and most comprehensive photographic guide to cat breeds that I've seen. Great, clear photographs featuring both common and some rarer breeds in all the major color variations for each breed, as well as lots of good, interesting info on each breed and its history.

If you love cats, you will go absolutely mouse for this book. It has so many beautiful cats, I just wanted one of each.

If you are just starting to look for a new kitten and want to know what your cat will look like when they grow up, this is an excellent resource. Kittens change so much, although I wish they just stayed little!

If you want to identify your cat, this is also a great place to start. You are sure to find a picture that looks pretty darn close to the cat you have. I had to laugh when I looked on page 241 and saw my very own black and white cat and the resemblance was just strikingly good.

If you have friends online who are always talking about their Chartreux cats and have forgotten to send you a picture and you are dying to know what they look like, then here is your answer!

The 59th edition of the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins was released at the Canadian Numismatic Association convention in Toronto, July 2004. This 520-page reference book is the largest Canadian coin catalogue ever published. Divided into three sections the guide covers all segments of circulating legal tender coins and their derivatives, the non-circulating legal tender coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint and, of course, Part Two of the Charlton-Zoell Variety Catalogue.

The first section, which deals with the currency coins and their numismatic counterparts has been updated with the addition of all 2003 and 2004 releases. The portrait change of 2003 is now in place, and the 2004 listings will carry forward with the mature portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Mintage numbers and prices are updated to reflect the current market values.

To help emphasise the rarity of some of our early Victorian coinage a footnote has been added below the pricing table where a dash appears in the pricing columns. This notes the highest graded coin by a grading service and establishes a rule that if a coin has not been graded, then it should not be priced. Nearly twenty years after third party grading began we believe it is reasonably safe to assume that if one of the three major grading services has not graded a particular coin, then is probably does not exist in that grade.

The Royal Canadian Mint section, which grew by 15% in page count, has been expanded even further with the inclusion of the new joint venture products created by the Royal Canadian Mint and Canada Post. The non-circulating legal tender issues now consume 41% of the coin listings.

Part Two of the Variety Section has over 80 pages, and is just the beginning of a classification system that hopefully will accommodate a numbering system that allows for the tracking of Canadian Varieties as they pass through the grading services in North America. A new major variety was discovered in 2004. A 1954 five cent Shoulder Fold variety was discovered by Gerald Wilde, nearly fifty years after issue, it will remain to be seen just how scarce this coin really is.

This guide is the most comprehensive and informative of its kind on the market today. The only guide to offer the collector a clear insight into the happenings of the Canadian coin market. Best book I have seen on water gardens.......2000-06-06

This is the best book I have seen on water gardens. It covers every step of the process from planning and construction through landscaping to stocking with fish and even maintenance.

Many options are presented as far as size style and building methods for ponds, fountains, waterfalls, and streams. Fully illustrated with color photos and diagrams this is above all a great "how to do it" book.

There is extensive coverage on choosing and caring for fish and other wildlife. A large encyclopedia of foliage including floating plants, marginals, ferns, shrubs and trees is also included. A photo, physical description, zones it will tolerate, & often some advice is given for each. Tons of landscaping enhancements are also suggested.

There is history of water gardening and plenty of photos of beautiful finished gardens to give you ideas as well. I can't emphasize too strongly through how important this hands-on book is for someone who want to create a water garden of their own.

Good for a beginner........2007-10-04

For one who wants to install their first, and likely only garden pool, this book is great. We installed a pond with a flexable liner, not the rigid type and we needed to know such things as what depth, why we needed to step the depth, type of materials, essentially all the things to do it ourselves. This book was very helpful in that regards. After four years, we are still happy we installed our pond.

Although this book is not as comprehensive as some of the other texts on water gardens, it has a wonderful assortment of pictures (which is always nice for "ideas"). The price was low-end and I think what is contained is reasonable for this smaller book.

This book is extremely comprehensive and informative. It covers all of the basics and gives great advice about water gardens. James Allison provides a wide varitey of examples for people of all skill levels. I will be building a water garden this summer, and this book has greatly aided me in planning my project.

This pamphlet masquerading as a book, had no information in it, has silly little sketches which seem to have been drawn by a third grader, and dares to sell at a price which would indicate that it is a real book, which it certainly is not. I bought it and returned it because I was horrified to have wasted my time and been hoodwinked by an author who had nothing to say and taught me nothing. Jane Werner

NOT QUITE WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR.......2001-08-21

It may be that one book, alone, can't cover this topic. If there is one that can do the job, I haven't found it yet. Nash and Hughes offer some excellent information and provide many photos of well-designed water features for the yard. In addition to those, I was also looking for more step-by-step illustrations of pond and waterfall setups but this book was a little skimpy there The section on plant selection they've provided is very useful, however.

Great book for the beginner and the experienced.......2001-06-01

Helen Nash has written extensively for many years about water gardening in all its aspects. She has developed a vast following and has gained well-deserved notariety. I own quite a few of her books including this one. As in all her other books, she is very thorough in helping beginners grasp the essense of what it takes to make their water garden succeed. If anyone simply reads and heeds what Nash says, they can't fail. My only disappointment is the lack of color photography. There are some very good photos in it, but I still think there should be more. This is the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five. A lot of people purchase this type of book not only for instruction and understanding, they also buy it for inspiration and fresh ideas. The only way to do this is to SEE many examples. I hope someday Helen will compile a beautiful book of photography that will be a true inspiration and foundation for present and future water gardeners. In the meantime, for those of you who want to build a beautiful water garden and need ideas, get in touch with your local garden club to see if there is a water gardening club nearby. In metropolitan areas there is usually a large group of people who are members of a water gardening community. They hold open house once a year so you can go to many homes and see their water gardens. Also, the Internet has many resources available.

WE CHECKED THIS BOOK OUT OF OUR LOCAL LIBRARY AFTER REVIEWING SEVERAL BOOKS. ALSO CHECKED AT BARNES AND NOBLE FOR COMPARISIONS AND FOUND THE SUNSET GARDEN POOLS FOUNTAINS AND WATERFALLS TO BE GOOD ALSO. THE INFO. CONTAINED DESIGN, INSTALLATION AND PUMP INFO. THE PICTURES ARE IN COLOR AND VERY PRACTICAL--NOT SOMETHING UNACHIEVEABLE. WE WILL USE IT AS ONE OF OUR GUIDES IN BUILDING A WATERFALL.
