I am looking to purchase a Weimaraner in the near future, and this book is by far the most informative book I have found yet. I wanted to be sure that I know as much as I can about the proper care for a Weimaraner, and this book is it. From what to do when you first get the puppy, until it becomes an old dog, this book has it. Highly reccommended for anyone looking to buy or learn more about Weimaraners.

As a soon-to-be puppy parent I enjoyed reading this book, it had a lot of good information about the breed, but it shouldn't be the only one you read if you plan to get a Weim. In addition to other dog books, I would strongly recommend the one called "How to Speak Dog" to anyone who plans to get a dog or already has one.

My husband and I purcahaced this book when we were getting ready to bring home our first Wiemariner. We were looking for guidance on things to expect, how to make the dog feel at home, behaviors of most dogs, training this breed, and other general guidelines to follow. The book targeted itself to all these areas, and in addition, helped us greatly in bringing our new family member home. Riley did an excellent job at describing the breed in general and gave many pointers on supplies, training, health, and what owners need to expect. It is a great book if you are a first time owner and have a lot of questions.

I got this book from my trade school as our textbook, thought it was ok at frist, but when i went into my field i found this book to be totally useless,it's clear to me that the authur of this book has never worked in the heating field, he spends most of the time talking about old outdated systems,good luck trying to find anything of value in this book.

If you are a dabbler in aromatherapy and enjoy the aroma oils give then this book is a fantastic reference. I have enjoyed many combinations from this book. Just remember to use true essential oils not synthetic ones to get the true effect from the aromas.

This is an excellent book..a complete guide to burning blends of oils for every imaginable emotion or cause..from blends to relax and rejuvenate, to increase work performance, creativity and help with emotional problems. There are hundreds of recipes and it is very easy to read. The presentation is just beautiful.

This Old House.......2007-02-11
I bought this book when renovating my old house so I could plan my new heating system. The book replaced my out of date Audels Guide, and answered my questions.
It's VERY complete with great illustrations. This came in handy when ordering parts at the plumbing supply house. I now know the function of components I have seen for years, but never really understood what they did. Great book for planning or upgrading your system. Looks like it has some real useful troubleshooting procedures also, although my new system is up and running fine thanks to this manual.

The burner is the device which effectively converts a fuel into heat. It can be as simple as a grate in a firebox or as complicated as the pumps, atomizers, blowers, and combustion chamber of an oil burner. The key to efficient burning of any fuel is the burner. The proper choice of burner is the difference between success and failure in fuel combustion. As the heat content of a given fuel increases, so does the complexity of the burning system: Natural gas will burn, although inefficiently, coming out of the end of a pipe. On the other hand, diesel fuel must be vaporized under pressure, preheated, and mixed with the right amount of air-- all toward the goal of getting efficient heat release from something as simple as oil. Each fuel type requires its own unique burner system. Not only must a burner be understood, but it is necessary to know what it takes to keep each type working. Normal operation requires upkeep and as a burner system becomes more complex, so does its upkeep. As a Consumer, it's always nice to know what needs to be done to keep your heating system working. Ever get a snow-job from a service man? As a potential buyer of a furnace or kiln, you have the ability to make a more intelligent choice. You can't always depend on a salesman for all the facts. He is more likely to promote what he has to sell. Originally written for ceramists who should know what they are doing when they use a kiln, this book may be applied to burners, whatever their application. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This is nothing more than a multipage advertisement for his other books. There is no advice on understanding or maintaining burners that he doesn't refer the reader to another of his books, and what's up with the incessant hot-tub analogies? His other books may be of more value for potters, but I won't buy any of them.
Almost totally worthless..........2004-03-13
This book is pretty much completely useless to anyone, unless you are firing a very controled kiln environment. Most of what the author talks about is either pointless or just common sense things that go unsaid which you already know.
This book is an extremely bad buy. It lacks any practical value, and is way over priced. This book MIGHT be worthwhile if you can get it for less than $3.00... Even the quality of the book is extremely poor. It is much smaller and shorter than it appears and the actual paper the book is written on appears to have been xeroxed. VERY BAD BUY!! STAY AWAY!!!
I am a fairly advanced potter and own my own gas fired kiln which I built myself from scratch. I know about kilns and kiln books and this is of very little value. If you want a good one try "The Kiln Book", it seems to be the best one out there.

The first chapter starts with a detailed illustration of an oil fired boiler complete with attaching components clearly identified. Then each component is illustrated separately along with text that describes its function.
Chapter 2 provides a step-by-step series of illustrations and text that covers everything required to perform an annual system cleaning and tune-up. It covers the entire system with a special focus on the oil burner, burner motor, fuel pump, pump coupling, fuel/oil filter, electronic ignitor, transformer, electrode rods, nozzle, end cone, blast tube, nozzle assembly, draft regulator, smoke pipe and plumbing.
Chapter 3 provides an innovative approach to system troubleshooting by using flowcharts along with illustrated maintenance steps to identify and repair the problem.
Chapter 4 covers problems with the heat distribution components such as feed valves, zone valves, circulators, radiators, Extrol tank, expansion tank, flo-check valve, bleed valve, and pressure relief valves. Included is an easy procedure to properly bleed air from the system.
Chapter 5 covers perhaps the least understood area in heating systems; all those electrical controls, thermostat, aquastats, primary control, stack relay, high limit control, sensors, safety devices, and wiring. Again the detailed illustrations make sense out of this difficult topic. Lastly,

Extremely well written and informative, keeping the novice on the subject in mind. Well organized information teaching about different parts on the heating system individually with well drawn pictures and descriptions. Then it describes in detail how these parts work together. It also has an excellent troubleshooting section.
This Old House.......2007-02-11
I bought this book as a companion to the author's book on Oil Burners. Together they cover the entire heating system. This book was instrumental in planning my new heating system for renovating my house. Well the heating system is in and the house is very well balanced with even heat throughout.
I wish the author comes out with some books on other topics like kitchen and bath remodeling. His illustrations were indispensable, and left no questions unanswered.

Title deceiving, Still has merit........2006-07-18
This book is deceiving. It should include on the cover somewhere that you have to send away for the design plans. I did that very thing when building my current home. That worked out well for my husband and I. So there is merit in "buying design plans" but the book should be more up front about what's inside. With that said, there are a variety of unexpected, fun designs.
Assembly instructions are terrible.......2004-04-11
I'm in the middle trying to build the Three Bin Composter in this book. It says the "complete instructions" are in the book for free-- one of the few plans in here that you don't have to order. There is a LOT of missing information, and I think that some of the dimensions listed in the materials section are incorrect. This is pretty simple, so I'll just guess my way through it, but I would NOT use this company if you are looking for plans for something more complictated.

This book merely showed drawings of things you could buy plans to build. Among the things you can't build with this book is a huge castle. Who on earth would buy a book to build backyard castle? I bought this book expecting several plans for building tool/garden sheds. What I got was some ideas on what a shed could look like. I get more insight every time I look out my kitchen window at my neighbors' sheds. I am not even going to try to resell this book, because I wouldn't do that to anyone.

Disappointed.......2002-08-29
I thought this was going to be a great book on designing a play area for the kids, but I was truly disappointed. There are great ideas in this book, but anyone looking for a "build it yourself" guide needs to keep looking as there are no directions to be found; only listings on how to order the "blueprints" of the various items you wanted directions on how to build in the first place.
As I said, this book has some great ideas, just no directions included.
