Dr. Bamberger, like many veterinarian authors of care text, is rightly concerned that pet owners see experts as soon as possible. The text is clear, informative, and helpful, and has some good basic techniques. They are most helpful if you have on hand veterinary supplies (sterile gauze, Ace bandages, etc)--hopefully, in an emergency situation you'll be able to put your hand on such things! Also, an awful lot of the text seems to concentrate on what NOT to do--this is important, but owners would be better served with emphasis on what can be done. This is a complaint I have about nearly all the pet first aid books I've seen. Also, since the book was published in 1993, I also wonder how up-to-date information may be. ...
A "Must Have" Book for Every Cat Owner!.......2000-01-29
As a "multiple cat" household we have many books around our home on cat health care, but this one is a "must buy" and a "must read" book to help you and your family prepare for an emergency with your cat friend. Not only is the text clear and understandable, there are also excellent drawings to help you implement what may be required to save your cat's life. Although we hope to never have to use what we've learned, as with first aid for humans, it's a nice skill to have, "just in case". If you have cats, please keep them indoors and spay and neuter your animals! It will help them live long, happy and safe lives!

This is by far one of the best written books on flight mechanics. Actually, it so good that I plan to teach a aircraft stability and control course using this book.

Torenbeek's synthesis of subsonic airplane design.......2000-03-28
This book has a huge amount of useful data which is used in the preliminary design of aircraft compared to other books. Although it goes into a lot of detail is surprisingly very easy to read and understand. I would certainly recommend it to anyone interested in the design of subsonic aircraft as a student.

This book is really a good reference for understanding the basics of aeronautics. It covers everything from aerodynamics to flight dynamics, stability and control, etc... Basically, after you read the book, you can know only a few parameters of a particular aircraft and then be able to deduct its aerodynamic characteristics, its optimal speed for maximal range, its flight ceiling, etc...
With the information that an aircraft manufacturer gives on its typical web page and the information contained in this book you can calculate enough to have a really good idea of a particular aircraft performance.
Plus, the book is clear and easy to read. I recommend it to every aeronautics student.

Important Reference Book for Aircraft Design.......2006-01-29
Aircraft design is an important subject for those doing a degree course in Aeronautical Engineering. The subject is often offered towards the later stages of the course when students have gained knowledge in some of the core subjects including aerodynamics, aircraft control and stability, aircraft performance, aircraft propulsion and aircraft structures. This book does an excellent job of providing a systematic presentation of the process of aircraft configuration design and optimization in the conceptual design of subsonic aircraft.
The book was a valuable guide in my university days in the early 1980s when doing projects in aircraft design. We used to simply refer to the book as Torenbeek, highlighting the fact that the book was considered a classic and ready reference source for those involved in aircraft design studies.
The book has a large amount of critical data and various methods of carrying out design calculations. The book focuses on conventional civil subsonic aircraft.
I recommended the book for all students doing an Aeronautical Engineering course as well as people who require to learn about initial aircraft design and development. Although the book was written in a university setting, people working in design departments in the aircraft industry should find the book very useful for their work.

The bilingual (Aramaic-Hebrew) concordance to the Targum of the Prophets is the product of an international project based in the Theological University of the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands, Kampen (ThUK) and supported by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). With this publication a major research tool becomes available to those engaged in Biblical and Jewish Studies.
For the first time meaningful quotations from the Targum and the Masoretic Hebrew text of the Bible are set out in parallel so that the user of the concordance can study the translation technique of the Targum in much greater detail than was hitherto possible.
The concordance opens up Targum Jonathan to scholars in various fields. It is an indispensable tool not only for research in the fields of textual criticism and the history of interpretation of the Hebrew Bible, but also for the study of early Judaism, the New Testament and patristics.
To facilitate consultation on the basis of the Hebrew, every concordance per book contains a Hebrew-Aramaic index. The final volume will contain additions and corrections, a cumulative Aramaic-Hebrew index, as well as an English-Aramaic index.
