This book is not one I can recommend. Cricky is obviously from LA, because she came up drastically short on places to take dogs in the SF Bay Area. Poorly written and inaccurate. Don't waste your $$!

Ken Yenke presents a wide variety of his own, personal vintage teddy bears. His format highlights the features of each bear and gives the quality and price range. What makes this book stand out are the history and anecdotes pertaining to each bear and the photos showing each in a unique setting. This is a great book for those who like to look at special teddies as well as a collector's tool for determining identification and values.

Ken Yenke has presented a wonderful assortment of antique/vintage bears for the new and advanced bear collector to admire. The information in this book serves as a great guideline to what enhances a bear and specific price ranges to help acquire bears. Lots of lovely photos and ideas but none that I will do.......2007-07-16
I was hoping for more in this book. I found the information great in regards to mosaics but was hoping for more realistic projects. Some of them were just too big and unrealistic for a person who would buy a book about mosaics. You would have to be pretty experienced to tackle some of those projects.

A Comprehensive List of Things to Do with Photos.......2006-05-02
Photocraft features fresh, inventive ways to display your photographs. I was inundated with photo storage boxes and was seeking a creative way to display cherished images when a friend gave me this book. Most of the projects are relatively simple and are accompanied with easy to follow instructions. I needed a quick fix wall treatment in my entranceway and borrowed an idea from page 100: using old CD cases, I created my own rotating photo gallery (FYI: I found that poster tabs keep the light weight plastic in place).
I've found this book to be an invaluable resource for both displaying photos and making personalized gifts.

Just a quick note:
After using this book for ideas, several friends have asked how I came up with my attractive and interesting picture arrangements. Two friends have borrowed the book from me and another asked me to send the title to her brother so he could get his own copy. I'd say that my use of the book was quite successful. It's also an attractive coffee table book -- the pix in it are pretty.

This book is clear, creative, and beautiful. It is a wonderfully written how-to book that makes hanging collections seem exciting rather than intimidating. I love the format, which gives "rules" for display closely followed by a section entitled "breaking the rules and getting away with it". The author gives great tips on color, frame types, and the effect of various environments on artwork. I first got this book at the local library, and 2 days later decided I needed to own a copy.

Not what I expected, here's what this book contains.......2001-02-20
This book wasn't for me but it may be appropriate for other readers. If you like rather fussy (some would say cluttered) English style interiors, full of chintz, heavy fabrics and a strong sense of history and tradition, you may like this book. However, I was looking for suggestions and ideas for decorating with pictures in a variety of rooms, from traditional to modern to eclectic, and this book didn't meet my needs. Much of the book is devoted to pages of fine art examples and only a portion of the book shows actual rooms and ways to display artwork. You won't find ANY examples of contemporary or modern rooms or ways of displaying pictures in those rooms. However, if you'd like to see some of the finest examples of various subjects for pictures, such as dogd, architectural pictures, portraits, etc..and if you're fond of English decorating styles and traditions, you may want to take a look at this one.

I highly recommend "Decorating with Pictures" by Stephanie Hoppen! Firstly, the book is a source of tremendous visual delight and stimulation. Secondly, her writing style, her passion and knowledge of art and it's presentation is extremely inspiring and educational. Her book will be of particular interest to interior decorators, framers, and individuals who would like to participate in the joy of "collecting" art. I am writing a book on "How To Collect Art" and giving local lectures on the topic. I bring Stephanie's Book to each lecture and recommend it to my audience as a starting point for ideas on displaying their art collections. Everyone who sees this book loves it. An art gallery with which I am associated now displays the book in the gallery as per my recommendation. It is the kind of book that inspires the love of art in everyone! I recommend it everyone.
