British training method.......2007-02-19
Mr Barlow presents his training method in a very well organized and insightful way that makes training much less stressful for owners and dogs alike. Its all about the dog. The anecedotes he shares are hilarious and makes you feel that you're not the only knucklehead trying to train a dog. Follow this method and you will save a lot of money by not buying all the "Dog training toys." One of his key instruments is a rock! You'll girly giggle when you see how simple "the rock" works.
A-1 Training Book.......2004-03-15
This is a great book on retriever training. I began with the Richard Wolters training books and found this book when my lab was about 11 weeks old. Both training methods run along the same lines and I would recommend both in training. The only hangup is that it takes only a few nights to read the books but seeing the progress in your dog is slow. BE PATIENT!!! When looking back your dog will be right on track. Good luck.
A Book For Any Dog Owner.......2003-09-07
I own a dozen different dog traning books and this is easily the most readable and helpful by far.In contrast to the usual dry how-to books one usually finds for dog training this book reads quickly and painlessly for the new dog owner because of his hilarious personal anecdotes and often self deprecating humor.There is something in this book for everyone from the serious retriever trainer to the non-hunting dog owner.The biggest surprise is the fact that he gives you his e-mail address and yes he has already answered me back with a response to my training questions.I would give it the highest recommendation for the reader who desires a steady,well-mannered hunting companion who can also be a pleasure for the entire family.

Purported Expert Doesn't Care Enough to Correct Mistakes.......2007-04-24
I'm not knocking this entire book; there's a lot of good info in here. What bothers me is that the supposed 'gospel' and 'official' price guide failed to accurately describe the availability of a certain Beatles Collection - BC 13 - Limited Edition box set released in the United States during the Christmas Holiday /December 1978.
As the facts still stand, this "retail release" was available to the general public, in stark contrast to Perry's statement of being only available to Capitol Record executives and industry affiliates. This type of sloppy journalism results in the creation of false perceptions in the market place...

If you want to learn anything about Beatles records, you are much better of getting copies of Bruce Spizers books,and tracking prices on Ebay. Forget about this overrated and out of date waste of money. I wish I found out before I blew a bunch of money on Ebay.

Carin Heiden-Atkins is one of the most innovative designers in the craft and home decor industries. Every single design in this book is beautifully designed around it's theme, and will motivate you to want to try it for yourself. This book has nice full color pages, and a lot of tool/technique tips. The crafts are fairly unique, enough to capture your interest. The age suggestion (8-14) given on the back cover of the book should be heeded, I feel, as most of the projects have multiple steps requiring time, skill, or patience to a greater degree than younger children may have. It is definitely more adaptable for older people than it is for younger...younger children will need assistance nearly every step of the way. All in all, it is a nice book with good ideas and the directions appear to be concise.
Great Entertainment and Source of Creativity.......2007-02-06
My 7 year old daughter loves to craft, with anything! She'll take anything she can get her hands on and make something out of it. Although she still does this, I wanted to focus her a little more into gifts she could make or crafts that looked more like what she was trying to do. I never told her that I didn't like the other creations though and they are still all over the house! However, I could see her beginning frustration at not having the right things to make the crafts she wanted to.
Then with this book, she found the guide she needed. She knows what materials to look for for certain projects and gets new ideas and makes her own gifts for birthday's and holidays and decorations. She's been even more inspired to create, if that's possible now and I'm glad I got this book. It is very child friendly and full of great ideas!
So, if you have an avid crafter that loves to work with paper, scissors and glue, this is the book to get and watch their imaginations blossom. If you have a child that you would like to get interested in crafts, this book would be very useful too. It's kid friendly and could be adapted for older and younger kids too.
