A complete suprise!.......2001-12-07

First and formost, if you are thinking of getting a Wire Fox, (or as my family call them, "Frankie dog's" -thats the name of our litte terroir) get one. They are the sweetest things on earth, and deffinatly the cutest also. Now for the book, talk about quality! We have had our book for about 6 years, and none of the pages are even ripped. The book gives detailed history of the breed, tips on feeding them, grooming them, and taking care of them. One time we wanted our groomer to cut Frankie a certain way, so we brought in the book and showed the groomer, she was so amazed and wanted to buy it off us! I have never had such a complete and thorough book that has beauty at the same time. Sometimes my mom and I will think that Frankies ears are in a weird position, or his stance is irregular, we just look in the book and sure enough, he's fine :) *****Overall~~~~ Great buy!

Finally - a Hand Book for the New WFT Owner.......2000-04-05

I was glad to finally find a reliable handbook on the WFT. This book did provide good information for any new puppy owner focusing on certain aspects of the WFT. The chapters on grooming and training were very beneficial. Although I felt a little overwhelmed with the history chapter it was interesting. The pictures throughout the book are beautiful. Since I have not been able to find any other books on the Wire Fox Terrier I would recommend this one to others.

A Moderately helpful guide..........2006-08-21

I found this map of Vermont covered bridges only moderately helpful. The map has a symbol for covered bridges on it and directions to each bridge are located on the back of the map by region, along with a very brief history. I found having to flip the map over for directions very user unfriendly while trying to navigate.

Just returned from a week in Vermont and this map/guide saved me a lot of time and effort in tracking down the covered bridges I wanted to see in Northern Vermont.

On medium-weight, stain-resistant paper, this beautiful and durable map folds out to approximately 2 feet by 3 feet. On one side is a three-color map of Vermont placing all 107 of the state's covered bridges, interesting facts about bridges and their designers, separate indices for bridges and places, and labelled watercolors of 23 of the bridges. The reverse side shows a county map, line drawings of various types of bridge trusses and a list of all the state's covered bridges by town. Each entry gives the date the bridge was built, information about its design and construction, and directions to the bridge.

My grandson is interested in poatcards of covered bridges so I bought this for him as a Christmas gift. He was delighted with it. The pictures are excellent and has many bridges with which we are familiar having lived in New England for most of our lives.

Excellent Covered Bridge Book.......2007-01-03

This book was very informative on covered bridges in Vermont. Design descriptions of the various types of bridges are quite illuminating. The 215-page book is thoughtfully organized, broken down to reflect 13 distinct geographic areas in which the bridges are clustered so that the reader can effectively plan covered bridge tours. Black and white photographs and maps are provided to aid the reader in easily locating these bridges. I highly recommend the book for anyone interested in covered bridges!

Found the book very helpful in finding covered bridges in vermont. Included exact directions to and history about each bridge and was organized according to region. A great guide for any covered bridge enthusiast!

One of the Best Books on Covered Bridges.......1997-07-20

This is an excellent book for covered bridge finding. The directions are perfect to the tenth of a mile, roads are well defined as to location from the nearest town. Photo tips are very helpful. Plus, you get a short history about the bridge and the maker. I recently used this book to find several bridges in Vermont and was very happy that the information here is so pricise

Excellent Guide to Covered Bridges........1996-12-30

Covered Bridges of Vermont was a delight to read. Have visited 103 of the ones he writes about, and the directions to them are very good, historical background accurate, and pictures are also very good. He gives tips for the best time of day to take photographs, taking into consideration the location of each bridge. No covered bridge enthuiast should be without a copy! He lists other places of interest as well. Now will have to find the ones we missed on our trips! Would have paid twice the price, and well worth it.

It Covers Bridges.......2007-10-10

This paper back was very well done and has a lot of interesting info and photos.I would have like to have seen color picutre;s but other then that its a good book.

Nice book but..........2006-07-22

I spend a lot of time in NH so I was particulary interested about learning about covered bridges. Since getting this book I've seen several other and perhaps better and more interesting books on the same subject of covered bridges that had many more photos and more indepth detail. This book is very very thin and seems more like someones college thesis than a fully published work. This is an okay book for the money but you might want to check out some others first before making a decision if you are interested in this subject.

Serene Gardens - exquisitely presented!.......2000-12-18

Kawaguchi captures the essential elements of serenity and beauty in near perfect balance with the `how-to' hinted at in the subtitle.

The author succeeds in creating a book that is first and foremost a beautiful book, but also raises awareness as to the deeper consciousness of Japanese garden design. This is not a Readers Digest Gardening Guide, with silly pictures and numbered steps. Instead she takes you on journey, leading you to discover and to appreciate, as she unfolds the finer art with sensitivity. The book is beautifully illustrated, well designed and well constructed.

Serene Gardens first introduces the reader to the traditional Japanese garden, and then proceeds to demonstrate how plants, rocks, water and sand should be used in the garden. She discusses paths, bridges, and constructions like pergolas en fences - and provides clear instructions on how to construct these. In conclusion, the book ends with a brief plant directory, listing suitable plants, ranging from trees, grasses/bamboos, berries and aquatic plants. The list includes alternative, non-traditional plants.

'Serene Gardens' works on the coffee table as well as in the garden. It is a book that can be enjoyed, as the garden itself is enjoyed.
