The Best of Horse Encyclopedias.......2003-10-16
I loved this book!!!! Everytime I need to look up a horse I look at this book. It has everything you need to know in it. The pictures were awsome too. I would say that every horselover needs to have this book. I'm 15 years old and it told me everything I needed to know about horses.

Covers many topics involving horses.......2002-08-13
I am a wrap around therapist for an autistic 13 year old boy who cannot speak. He loves horses. We use this book everyday for our drills. This book has so many facts that are uncomplicated, but informative. It has beautiful pictures in it. Sometimes we just look at the pictures of horses because they are so beautiful. It covers almost every topic about horses. I have learned a lot about horses My client has learned alot through this book.
Had many interesting unknown breeds........1999-08-15
I liked this book because it had many breeds I had never heard of. Susan McBane grouped the breeds into regions of the world so you can find where the horse come from. McBane also put the breeds of the horses which were breed together to form the breed. McBane gave great information about the breed and it's highlights. If you are looking for an interesting breed you have found your book.

Beautiful But Incomplete.......2003-01-20
A beautiful book but far from complete. I was shocked to see that Ingrid glass was completely ignored, only because it isn't signed by the manufacturer and some pieces are currently still made. Many other Bohemian manufacturers are also overlooked. You'll surely see some pieces you never knew existed though. Unfortunately not the difinitive resource you'd hope for. Maybe a book 3 is in order.

great for children's projects.......2007-03-10
There are some great ideas in here if you are planning on doing the projects with grade school children, or if you have little to no creativity. Otherwise don't bother with this book

Book Description
A beautiful inspirational scripture product that features the incredible art of Thomas Kinkade, classic hymns and their stories, scriptures, and prayers, plus heartfelt words from Thom about his paintings, the hymns, and his inspiration for creating these awesome works of art.
The great memorable hymns from our Christian heritage endure because they touch something in our hearts and spirits . . . they beckon us to a closer relationship with God through soft melodies of invitation, resounding trumpets of praise, and hushed choirs of heavenly and "glorious refrains." These collected hymns, along with their stories, Thom's thoughts, Scriptures and prayers, all inspire the reader to remember the songs of their youth, and those that have become favorites in their lives . . . encouraging them along life's journey. Touching memories of Sundays past, singing the beautiful words of these hymns alongside family and friends, help create a connection from generation to generation.
This beautiful volume will be a perfect gift for anyone with a Christian heritage, and especially moving for those who may have lost a beloved family member. Many of these hymns are often used in memorial services to celebrate the lives of dear ones . . . thereby continuing to establish their place in the hearts of those left behind.

Charming - With Great Dessert Recipes.......2006-08-15
This charming book has been in my library for 15 years. It opens with a list of basic liqueurs and a brief description of each. There are a dozen recipes for making your own liqueurs, if you are so inclined (I am not) and another 20 recipes for cocktails (Frozen Fuzzy Navel, Apricot-Cherry Sour, and so forth). This is largely a dessert book, however, and many of the recipes are wonderful: Grand Mariner Pound Cake, Applesauce Cake, Amaretto Fudge Cheesecake, Spirited Truffles, and Mocha Fudge Sauce have all been a success. The collection of dessert sauces are all easy to prepare and with a pint or two of premium vanilla ice-cream or a frozen pound cake on hand, you will never be caught short without a delightful dessert - and your guests will think you're a genius. Some recipes call for liqueurs which may be difficult to locate ("Liqueur Brule", "Eggnog Liqueur", "Nocello", "Banana Liqueur") unless you live in a large metropolitan area with a full-service liquor store. Substitutions can be made of course and the desserts will still be good. There are a few oddities, such as the "Cafe Brulot Ice Cream" which just has too much going on to make it palatable - and a recipe for Chocolate Orange Mousse employs raw egg whites, which is a no-no. This is a handy volume to have at holiday time.

Jazzy Jars by Browning.......2003-09-01
This is an excellent work for replicating decorative,
recycled, plastic and other types of jars. The author describes
how to utilize air-dry enamel paints, the surface preparation,
basecoats and lid decoration. In addition, the use of
acryllic paints is demonstrated for decorating lids.
A strength of this work is that it is easy to read. In addition,
the many diagrams depict the process of preparing jars in
accordance with various decorating techniques of preparation
and conditioning.
Fabulous!.......2003-01-20

YUCK! A TOTAL WASTE!.......2006-05-26
This author wrote a couple of excellent books - and then just sought to crank out as many as possible, without regard to quality. This one is particularly lousy - ugly stuffed FELT gizmos to make the jars look as though they were made by your six year old. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!

Plenty of dedicated crafters are also experienced gardeners, but if your thumb tends to be more glue-covered than green, you can still create wonderful items from the bounty of a less-than-expert garden or buy the supplies from a craft store or garden center. Designer Marie Browning provides a brief overview of craft-friendly flowers and herbs (and even fruits and vegetables), along with good instructions on various methods for pressing and drying them. The large selection of projects falls into several categories: personal and home fragrances, culinary, pressed-flower items, dried-flower decorations, and twig and vine projects. More than 80 recipes explain how to make facial scrubs, bath oils, potpourri, sachets, natural cleaning products, herbal cooking blends, fruit butters, flavored vinegars, syrups, spirited fruits and liquors, and more, plus there are step-by-step directions for an array of candles, frames, wreaths, arrangements, and garlands. Since many of these are destined to be gifts, the book also includes lovely packaging and labeling techniques, plus nice ideas for combining finished projects to produce themed gift baskets. For instance, a selection of culinary herbal blends, garden-herb biscuit mix, and flavored butters, along with a twig frame and a bark candle holder, make up the North Woods Basket, presented in a handmade wood container with natural-paper labels. Be sure to make a few extra items, since you won't want to give them all away. --Amy Handy

great ideas!.......2001-02-13
I recently purchased this book, and upon a more thorough review at home, discovered just how marvelous it was! The book is great because it gives you a diverse selection of projects from using herbs, to pressing flowers, to making oils, to making gifts from things in your garden, to culinary crafting...I could go on and on. Also, the instructions are very simple and easy to follow and there are very nice, very clear photos for referal. This is the book for the person who likes to do more than one thing, not just focus on one type of craft.
