This book has great photographs. The information it provides is simple and easy to understand/read. I would recommend it for someone who does not know the breed and is interested in an easy place to start. The book provides an overview on the breed, breed characteristics, care and basic training. The book does not go into depth on any one aspect. Not neccesarily for the more experienced Corgi person.

Excellent Raggedy reference book........1999-07-31
This is a great reference book. This is the only book, so far, that I have found all of the limited edition raggedy dolls pictured. The prices are realistic for the secondary market and the book is easy to read. This book and Kim Avery's "The World of Raggedy Ann Collectibles" are the Bibles of my raggedy collecting. I understand that Jan Lindenberger has an updated version of the "Raggedy Ann and Andy Collectibles" being released. Her first book was my first Bible and an excellent handbook which has now become outdated. I look forward to reviewing the latest edition to see if it is equal to the first and to this one. If you purchase this book I know you will enjoy it.

A beautiful 232 page reference work featuring more than 1,200 full color, sharp, large photos of every type of Raggedy Ann collectible. Major topics range from Accessories, Banks, Books, Ceramics to Playsets, Dolls, Holidays and Music Boxes. Each photo includes the date, maker and value. There is a brief introduction to the popular collectible. A beautiful reference book you'll refer to often.
Great Raggedy identification guide........1999-07-31
This is a great identification guide if you are interested in finding out more information about your dolls. This book goes into detail about the years each doll was issued and the country or company that made the doll. The book also is a good reference for accessories, books, games and toys, and holiday or birthday items. I have used this book so much for refenence that it is literally falling apart. I have ordered a second one for my reference library. The prices are realistic for the secondary market. I would also highly recommend Joyce Gerardi Rinehart's "Wonderful Raggedy Anns." In addition, I understand that Jan Lindenberger has just released an updated version of her "Raggedy Ann & Andy Collectibles" book. The first edition was a great reference and I look forward to reviewing her updated version as well. I am sure if you purchase this book you will enjoy it and you will want to identify each of your dolls.

This is an excellent research and resource book on Raggedy Ann and Andy. Wonderful colorful photographs and well laid out. The information was well worth reading and one can learn a lot of historical and background material on this wonderful rag doll. A must for a Raggedy collector and most enjoyable reading. Loved it!

Great photos for the novice raggedy collector........1999-07-31
This was my first price guide book when I started collecting Raggedy items. The photos and descriptions are great. The size of the book is also great because its 6" x 9" and easily fits into a purse. The prices are now somewhat outdated since the book was published in 1995 but this is still a great identification reference. For more accurate pricing I use Kim Avery's "The World of Raggedy Ann Collectibles" or Joyce Gerardi Rinehart's "Wonderful Raggedy Anns." Both of these were published in 1997.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Mormon Pioneer women and the way they created a "heaven on earth" in their early Utah homes through quiltmaking. I would encourage anyone who enjoys LDS Pioneer history to use this book as a great reference guide for inspiration in creating a warm home.

This book is a remarkable history of the fabrics used & the styles chosen together with where the women were born, when they stitched the presented treasure, when & where they joined the Latter-Day Saints & when they made the migration westward.
Each quilt, no matter its condition, its purpose or the technical skill, leads to a compelling discovery of previously unknown women's lives. Witness the three lions in a circlet on which has been embroidered the British monarch's motto or the "Star Quilt" of Sage Richards Treharne Jones from Wales who came on her parents' mission, both of whom succumbed along the trail. Or Mary Mortensen Bjork's migration from Denmark & her lively "Crazy Patch Quilt"; or Christina Erika Forsgren Davis from Sweden & her plain & simple "Strip Quilt". Or Betsy Prudence Howard Bullock's "Peter and Paul Quilt" all the way from Bedfordshire, England. Or Matilda Robison King's "Washington Plume" applique on her way from Montgomery County, New York. Many women were members of the same Relief Society & so made several quilts with similar designs.

A Book to Treasure.......2000-08-25
I was looking for a book to pass the time. I got lost for hours in this book and wished it was hundreds of pages more. The photos of the quiltmakers and the quilts are priceless. There is so much historical knowledge in this book, that I feel Mary Bywater Cross should be awarded an honorary doctorate degree in the history of quiltmaking and of the Morman Migration.

Which places does Tibet include? Are people Tibetan merely because of living in those places? Territory and Identity are notions that are widely present in academic and popular discourses on Tibet. In 1992 a group of French and Austrian researchers who had studied some of the mountain deities and sacred landscapes of Tibet began meeting to discuss the links between territory and identity in Tibetan culture. Eight years later an interdisciplinary group of scholars met in Leiden in Holland to consider these questions in more detail.
This book contains some of their findings, based on case studies carried out across the Tibetan and Himalayan regions. The authors look at the role of local deities, kinship, economy, politics and administration using approaches from across the social sciences to try to work out how a community constructs and reconstructs its idea of itself, and how its members think about and are affected by the land on which they were reared.
