Wine Journal Review.......2007-07-30
Great book for amateurs to keep track of recent wine experiences. I love it !!!
Wine Journal review.......2007-03-25
Good size to carry; sturdy pages and book covers; basic and to the point guidelines outlined for evaluating wines being tasted; provides 140 "tasting notes" pages. Definitely recommend it.
Handy Little Journal.......2007-02-22
This one is good for carrying with you as you explore new wines in different locales.
great book.......2007-01-17
it's great, not a scratch or a dent. it's been fun to fill out.
Great way to keep track of wines........2006-12-21
I bought this journal during a wine course I was studying recently. It's small enough to fit in a purse or pocket, but big enough to read your own writing. I think it's a great way to keep a log of wines and varietals you like, as well as remember what to order next time around.
Book Description
A Wine Lover's Journal is an attractive souvenir book for recording memorable wines. There is a concise introduction to grape varieties and wine aromas, along with information on building a cellar and hosting a tasting party. The pages have ample space to record cellar purchases, winery visits and tasting impressions. The journal becomes a valuable record of how a bottle of wine was enjoyed, the foods that accompanied it and the people who shared it. Each journal page includes space for pasting a wine label as a keepsake.
A Wine Lover's Journal is a perfect record book for both aficionados and novices.
Customer Reviews:
perfect wine journal.......2007-08-23
I got this for my mom beacuse she was always forgetting which wines she liked. This journal was just what she needed. It has wine info in the front pages- the shapes of bottles, the different countries and other stuff. And then it has MANY pages for pasting lables and writing your notes on the wine.
great purchase for a budding wine connoisseur.......2007-05-12
I'm having a lot fun filling the pages of my Wine Lover's Journal. It is a great place to enter my comments on the different wines I've been enjoying and to help me remember what I'd like to buy again!
good book.......2007-01-16
I would say that, sure this is a good book to buy. We haven't used it yet, because it didn't come with a wine label remover, which is the only thing I would suggest changing. Make it a package deal with whatever the product is to remove labels. Have fun drinking your wine and filling up the book!
Great Thank you Gift.......2007-01-10
I've purchased these books as thank yous for various clients and have always gotten a positive response. Good way to allow people to remember that bottle that they tried!
Like it.......2005-10-28
This journal is good for the home bound wine lover, it has a place to paste the wine label,(if you can get it off)but it is big. I like that you can choose to put weather it is red or white because red is favored in our household so the other journal's pages would have gone to waste. It has some usefull info inside too. I like it a lot, but it is not one you would take to a restaurant or tasting, it is just a lil too bulky for that.
Book Description
Wine lovers will find sections to record their cellaring and tasting notes, plus space to preserve wine label information for more than 60 wines. Also included are expert tips on establishing a cellar and storing, tasting, and serving wines, as well as a complete glossary of wine terminology.
Customer Reviews:
not what I expected.......2005-11-11
Like another reviewer stated, this book does not have room to paste wine labels. Also, most of this book is for recording cellar notes. This is not what I expected. I will keep searching for a book that has room for me to record notes on wine and a place to paste labels.
Guess you have to have a wine cellar.......2003-12-23
I bought this journal as a gift to my parents who enjoy wine but can never remember which ones they've had and how to find them again. The description states there's room to save labels - where? The pages offer a little too much detail - such as stock records (for those that have an abundance of wine on hand in their cellars). I was looking for something a bit more "informal" so they could jot down notes about the wine, where they bought it, where they enjoyed it and with whom, or for what occasion) and space to paste the label. This book did not fit the bill. I'll keep looking... I will say that it's sturdy for a spiral bound and appears to be well made.

The Good Cook's Book of Days.......2003-03-06
I received this book recently as a gift from a fine cook I have had the pleasure of working with on several occasions. I had always wanted a place to write down food related experiences, not necessarily recipes (I have other journals for those) but points in time that deserve to be recorded. I have a memory of sharing an ambrosial banana four ways in the Coba archealogical site in the Yucatan. Another of my son and husband catching tree frogs outside a nice Sonoma Valley restaurant for an elderly friend to put in her pond. Or the night this same woman flirted audaciously with a waiter in another restaurant. Or of buying a sack of pristine Seattle foodstuffs from Pike Place Market and tucking into them with utter joy along the Oregon Coast. Where can you write about these things? In Michele Anna Jordan's book, of course.
best cookbook ever.......2002-07-12
I first found this cookbook in a bookstore while browsing for a gift. It was mostly blank, and if I had read the entire title, I would have expected this - it's a food journal, which means you put all the recipes in it. What a wonderful place to put special family recipes, favorite finds, and fabulous dishes. No more searching through an assortment of books from a shelf or trying to flip through a recipe box.I have taken all of my best recipes and put them in this book.
It is a beautifully done book. It's a red cloth hardcover with lots of extras like notes on wines, tables of equivalents, places to note guest preferences/allergies, so that you know what to cook when someone comes over. There are so many little extras in this book, I am still discovering them.
I was so excited when I found this book that I bought two and gave one to a friend. I have used it so much since I can't imagine my kitchen without it. Recently, a friend came over and so admired the book that I ordered one from Amazon.com for her. They are hard to find now, but worth the search!
Not a Cookbook.......2001-08-17
I bought this book as a present for my mom. I was under the assumption it was some form of cookbook. It was anything but. There is one recipe in this book. The rest of it is pictures of flowers and other decorations. My mom's spiral notebook serves the same function. Why was this listed as a cookbook?
Great way to organize all your recipes.......1998-11-14
I have looked high and low for a good book where I could organize all the family recipes that have been handed down to me, from my grandmother. I have been collecting recipes for well over thirty years. And until I found this book, I had them on pieces of paper everywhere. I come from a long line of cooks in my family. And I have been given recipe that date back to my great great grandparents. And I now know where to go and look for any given recipe.

Great book to have when looking to go yard sale shopping.......2000-06-04
This is a wonderful book to have if you are a rookie like me and don't know junk from treasure. Doing alot of yard sales, I come across items that look like junk when in reality, they are a piece of old treasure. This book will help you know what to look for when going to yard sales, "junk" stores, etc. I bought this book looking to get educated on some past collectibles and really got ALOT more information out of it than I expected. This is the only book you will need when trying to sort through what's really worth $$ and what't worth only pennies. WELL worth the money to buy this book. :)
Book Description
With over 500 color photographs, this thorough text introduces the reader to the wide variety of decoys currently available, decoys made earlier in the century by "old time" artists as well as examples of contemporary design. The construction and special attributes of fishing decoys are discussed in detail, information vital to recognising the most collectible decoys. Detailed histories of early twentieth century and contemporary decoy makers of Minnesota and their decoys has been compiled through personal interviews with the makers or their families. Information is also provided on spear makers and the varying designs of their spears, jigging sticks, and decoy boxes. This is a truly valuable reference work.

Customer Reviews:
First class book.......2002-02-23
Great photography, classic decoys from Lake St. Clair to NY. This is where a collector learn what quality decoys are, and sets a standard of what a good collection should look like. The other fish decoy books contain more text info than quality decoys/photos. This book is an artwork in itself. This book was published a few years ago to promote fish decoys and for a while supply exceeded demand. However, as new collectors find this book an artwork in itself, with others buying them up, the book is becoming very difficult to find. Good luck on your search. If you have one, cherish it. If you have more than one, e-mail me.
A Must-Have.......1999-09-07
Beneath The Ice is a catalog that every fish decoy and folk artcollector must have. The text is informative and well written. Thephotographs are excellent. And the work surveyed is terrific. Too bad they printed so few copies. With the recent growth in fish decoy collecting, this is a book that should have a new edition. Until that time, it's worth the wait if you have to special order as an out-of-print book.
The book is in itself art, magnificent........1997-11-12
Absolutely a once in a lifetime chance to view true folk art thatwas never intended to be. Nearlyanyone will be entranced by theethereal visual qualities of thesephotographs and text.anyone will be mesmerized by thestunning photography as well.

Book Description
The loft as we know it today is quite different from its original conception during the 1960s, when this typology of residence became popularized to reconvert warehouses that artists maintained with very few means. Today a loft can simply imply an open-plan, diaphanous and flexible space that alludes to an industrial aesthetic through exposed materials like steel and wood. New materials and design techniques have produced a new generation of lofts that have transformed it into a sophisticated asset desired by many. This selection bears proof of this growing trend, offering a wide variety of design solutions for today's contemporary loft.
