I am just learning my way around the kitchen and I've found many cookbooks that use jargon that I am not familiar with. However, this book is great because it explains the definition of certain cooking terms. I've tried several of the recipes and they came out great! The book itself is beautiful and a pleasure to scan throuch and use.

This installment, the Book of Dips and Salsas, starts with a brief introduction containing tips for dips and what to dip in the first place, suggestions for salsas and cooking techniques, the necessary equipment and utensils and a glossary of ingredients, and then presents recipe suggestions for all major types of dips, from meat and poultry to fruit dips, salsa, relishes and other condiments. Special chapters are dedicated to fish and shellfish, cheese, vegetable, bean, lentil and nut dips. This book is an absolute necessity for any hockey card collector or autograph collector. This book also is great to just browse and learn about the history of hockey cards.
The book has numerical listings for virtually every hockey card ever issued, including many local or regional issued cards. In addition to that comprehensive list, the book simplifies things by relisting all of these cards alphabetically! It also has at least one picture of a card from most sets.

Excellent way to price any card you own........1999-02-18
This book has contained prices to almost every card I own. I am from St. Louis and I have been able to find values on my Blues cards from McDonalds, my college team cards, the cards I bought in Finland, and my autographs. There is an alphabetical checklist for every player from Wayne Gretzky to Willie O' Ree to Anti Ollinen. If you have a hockey card, chances are it will be in this book.

I recently purchased this Beckett price guide, my first in 5+ years. I am glad I did, I didn't realize how much the hobbey had grown. The last pack of cards I bought was years ago, after buying this book I have found myself back in the hockey card market.
This Beckett has it all, every card you can imagine. NHL, AHL, International...It even has cards listed from the EA sports NHL 95 game, now that is digging deep. I recommend this book for everyone that has an interest in Hockey cards and Hockey in general.

Incredible way to use bullions.......2003-09-28
This little Aussie is really not only a tutorial but also a workbook on how to use and design with bullions. Their other boook A-Z embroidery also covers most of the bullion knots in that very thorough tutorial so one has to wonder why get this one? Well it's all about the animals, some really cute Aussie wombats, kangies and such, alphabets, samplers and bee hives. You get this book to use those bullions and some of those other stitches in some really innovative ways. The author actually makes the bullion do so much of the work that is usually done with satin stitch but with some extra oomph to the innovation side.
It's an enjoyable book and the projects give you enough to do that it's a real saver over those pre-packaged sets.

From the simple to complex, Pearce reveals the beauty of the geometry we enjoy in the world around us. I found this book to be an inspiration to emulate the genius of nature's design and never tire of staring at the magical shapes contained page after page.
I am now showing it daily to my four and two year old who are delighted by these exciting patterns and shapes; now if I were only better at pronouncing the names contained therein!
