Book Description
In People of Darkness, Hillerman's first novel to introduce Officer Jim Chee of the Navajo Tribal Police, Chee is forced to use all of his powers of deduction and insight to extricated himself from a deadly series of incidences involving a mysterious millionaire, a sinister, peyote-eating Indian cult, and what the New York Times called "an ingenious long-acting way of murder." In The Dark Wind, a seemingly routine stakeout at a vandalized windmill thrusts Chee into the center of a dangerous web of drugs, witchcraft, and betrayal. And in The Ghostways, a felon relocated under the Federal Witness Relocation Program sets off a chain of treachery and killings, and only Chee has the knowledge of the people and the landscape to understand the clues.

Jim Chee Mysteries.......2007-08-03
I am a great fan of Tony Hillerman. I love his books. When he writes he makes the reader feel as tho you are there watching the story unfold. I am a retired Police Offier and I would love to work with Jim Chee if he was a real person. I am a book-a-holic. This is a club my 2 Sisters and I have formed. Great Book and writer !!!!!!!!!Elsie
Three Jim Chee Mysteries.......2004-11-02
Three Jim Chee Mysteries
---"People of Darkness"---
"The mole, his hunting place is darkness."
"The mole, his hunting song is silence."
Sgt Jim Chee of the Navaho tribal police is asked by the wife of Benjamin J. Vines to retrieve a mysterious box stolen from her husband's safe while he was away. When mister vines returns he tells Chee that it was all a mistake and hands Chee a check. We all know Chee can not let this lay still so the mystery leads him to people that use a mole for their talisman "The people of Darkness" and it appears that something (or someone) is killing them all off.
The mystery is fair and Tony Hillerman does not hide clues or surprise suspects to the last minute so it is not too hard to guess most of the plot or who the good guys and bad guys are. We are introduced to the Navaho concept of witches and Mary Landon who will play parts (if she survives) in future novels. In the process we get a vivid description of the four corners and other areas near buy. In People of darkness he picks up a Lota Burger and I have eaten a few of them my self. In future books we will be introduced to the Navaho Taco. For the anthropologist in us he describes many sings and ways.
-----------------------------------------------
---"The Dark Wind"---
"A dark wind has entered his soul"
"Enemies unseen... Fears unspoken...... A dark wind has entered his soul"
Navajo Tribal Police Sgt. Jim Chee seems to be batting zero; so far he has not been able to solve a series of seemingly unrelated crimes. In an area that was joint use land between the Navaho and the Hopi (now Hopi) Sgt Jim Chee is given the task of finding the vandal that keeps destroying a windmill placed there to make Hopi life easer. He hears an airplane landing in the dark of night with no lights. The plane crashes and leaves a dying pilot. Also a dead man sitting up against a rock with a note in his hand saying if you want it back contact...
Sgt Chee is told that it is probably drugs and federal jurisdiction. Chee is not supposed to go anywhere near or have anything to do with the case. He has his own problems with the mill, a missing thief, and a mysterious ritual death. Naturally he listens, and can not help it if they overlap.
One of the reasons for reading Hillerman's books maybe more important than the overlying mystery is the descriptions of the area and the Ways of the Navaho and Hopi. Hillerman suggests you also read "The Book of the Hopi" by Frank Waters.
Not as intricate as the book but still fun is the movie "Dark Wind" (Lou Diamond Phillips as Officer Jim Chee, Fred Ward as Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn)
-------------------------------------
---"The Ghost Way"---
Shoot out at the Wash-O-Mat
A Shoot out at the Shiprock Wash-O-Mat leads to a puzzle that only Jim Chee with his knowledge of the Ghostway and of death rituals can try to peace together. Related is a disappearance of a school girl (Margaret Sosi) will lead Jim from the New Mexico landscape to the Los Angeles area. There with Hillerman's gift for description we also get a contrasting look of the different worlds. Will He find the girl and what does the puzzle spell out, or will it ever become clear?
This is a close continuation of "People of Darkness" so many of the descriptions and people were previously defined in that book. The reason people read Hillerman is mostly for the descriptions of the places and people his characters encounter. As seen in previous books, in the description of Margaret and other characters, he incorporates his real life experience with World War II and its aftermath.
Jim Chee is not the Slim Man!.......2000-09-23
Jim Chee takes himself seriously, but Tony Hillerman only wants to tell you a great story while inclucating in you some respect for a culture you may not know. If you've read Hillerman, I don't need to tell you much. The first Chee books are wonderful because they are the development of the character. If you started with later novels, go back and read the early ones! This collection is a great place to start! Ah, but then you'll be hooked, and you'll have to buy all of Hillerman's work! DO IT!! Your reading will tell you much more than my enthusiams will do here!

Book Description
Danger is everywhere she turns, because the path to Camelot never runs smooth . . .
When war threatens the kingdom of Camliard, sisters Lynet and Laurel find themselves in the heart of the darkening crisis, with only one way to restore peace. While her older sister remains as a hostage, Lynet must bring back the last heir of Camliard's ancient royal house -- the High Queen Guinevere.
But Lynet's quest is not so easily achieved. Once in Camelot, she must deal with the politics of court as well as country. One ally is Gareth, youngest brother of the brilliant Sir Gawain, who aches to achieve knighthood and fame by his own hand. But Gareth soon finds this quest is no game, and that Lynet is no maid to be toyed with.
With the machinations of the sorceress Morgaine threatening their future, only Lynet and Gareth's strength and love together can save the queen's hereditary kingdom from a tangled web of magic, treachery and war. And that strength is failing . . .
Customer Reviews:
Another fine tale of Camelot.......2007-02-06
This is the third in Zettel's Camelot tales, in which the story of Gareth and Lynet is explored. Once again the author has used the familiar story, this time of the kitchen squire who must prove himself by the quest of the scornful lady. Very different once more, the bare bones are merely present.
Gareth has immersed himself in youthful, male troubles through his service to Lancelot and must prove his worth. Lynet has travelled from Queen Guinevere's land of Cambryn to plead with her to send aid in its dire need. Morgaine the evil shadow of the past two tales is once again at the bottom of this fresh threat to the kingdom.
Lynet herself is in similar straits to Gareth, having made youthful errors of judgement involving King Mark of Cornwall, his wife Isuelt and Tristan. Shunned and shamed by this past, she now has only her family and their stewardship of Cambryn. Her sister and brother are enmeshed in the ancient magics of the land and sea, and she too is in danger from this heritage.
Love and magic, terrible bargains and heart-breaking betrayals are all woven into the threads convincingly. A tense and rivetting story once again is unfolded. Well written and a page turner.
I eagerly await the fourth instalment.
Except that I understand that Luna, the Harlequin imprint publisher, has terminated Zettel's contract and book four is no more. This leaves a nasty taste for any reader. Dishonourable behaviour.
However, I understand the book is still to be published in Australia later this year. Thank goodness.
Another take on Arthurian legend.......2006-09-07
This is Zettel's third book in her Camelot series in which we learn the stories of some of the more peripheral characters in Arthurian legend. After her father's murder by her own brother, Lynet journeys to Camelot to beg the queen's assistance in restoring order to her homeland. I didn't enjoy this story as much as the first two, but it's still worth a read, especially if you enjoy retellings of ancient tales.
UNDER CAMELOT'S BANNER Is A Story of Treachery, Magic & More!.......2006-05-24
This is the third installment in Sarah Zettel's Arthurian series. In this story Lynet, a daughter of the steward in Cambryn is caught up in tumultuous times. Her brother murders their father and her sister sends her to Camelot to bring home Queen Guinevere to settle the neglect of King Mark and the unrest of the people.
Things never are easy for Lynet, however, she is given a special gift from her sister which allows her to observe if not alter events in their home while she is on her journey to Camelot. After arriving at Camelot she finds she doesn't entirely trust Queen Guinevere but eventually discovers a trusting and eventual love interest, Gareth, squire of Lancelot. Meanwhile, back in Cambryn, Morgaine literally uses magic for evil ends to obtain her goals. It's a constant race against time and evil and Gareth and Lynet must find a way and soon to bring Queen Guinevere to Cambryn and King Mark to make everything right again.
I enjoyed this tale very much; however, at times Lynet's addiction to the gift her sister has given her becomes tedious. The conclusion to this series is titled "The Path to Camelot" in spring 2007.
Great story -- weak heroine.......2006-04-21
Sarah Zettel continues her story of Camelot. Lynet is the youngest daughter of Chief Kenan of Cambryn, and when her father is killed by the oldest son, she must convince Queen Guinevere to return to her homeland and restore the public's trust in Camelot and Arthur. Morgaine threatens them every moment of the journey, stirring anger, distrust, and lust among Lynet's remaining kin and traveling companions.
The story is wonderfully written (as are most of Zettel's novels), but Lynet is a weak heroine who never truly steps up to lead the fight. Other than convincing Guinevere to return to Cambryn, she does not accomplish much throughout the book. She spends a great deal of time using a spirit-filled mirror to affect minor changes in other characters, but instead of becoming one of her greatest strengths, this becomes an addiction for her. I felt more sympathy for her as a spirit-drug addict than compassion for her as a strong protagonist.
Overall, this is a fun installment to Zettel's Camelot series, but it is not the best of the three. Hopefully the next heroine will have the strength to inspire both her fellow comrades-in-arms as well the reader.
high fantasy .......2006-04-04
Cambryn has no protection as the absent Queen Guinevere spends all her time in Camelot with her husband King Arthur. King Mark of Tintagel has gone mad after being cuckold by his Queen Iseult and Sir Tristan. Guinevere's steward Lord Kenan has gone to Mark with many of his soldiers to plead for protection. Kenan's son Colam plots to overthrow his father and ends up killing him. His sister Laurel declares Colam is an outlaw, which sends him to Morgaine for safety, but she bewitches him to use as a pawn against her sister Guinevere.
Laurel's sister Lynet travels to Camelot to plead with Guinevere to bring her knights and men-at arms to keep her people safe from her lethal sibling Morgaine and their mortal enemies like the people of Eire and the Saxons. Lynet has with her a magical silver mirror, given to her sister by their mother, a sea spirit who took mortal form to marry Kenan. Guinevere agrees to return to Cambryn while Lynet sees through the mirror the deadly schemes Morgaine has put in motion with Colam her slave, Laurel the first target and Lynet not far behind unless Lancelot's squire Gareth can save his beloved.
Sarah Zettel puts her own spin to Camelot using a more manipulative and not so pure Guinevere as a key player in her take on the legend. Lynet, filled with guilt for her role in the Iseult-Tristan affair, vows to do whatever it takes to save her homeland from those who covet it as a personal playground. UNDER CAMELOT'S BANNER is high fantasy at its best making readers wonder how Laurel's tale will hold up against Lynet's saga.

Book Description
Around the world, increasing numbers of people are turning to yoga as a means of keeping fit and reducing stress. In this comprehensive and highly illustrated guide B.K.S. Iyengar, the world's leading teacher of yoga, shares his unique, holistic approach. For Iyengar, yoga is more than just a form of exercise; it is a holistic experience that benefits the body, mind, and spirit. He outlines the philosophy and ideals behind this ancient practice and explains how yoga can help to counter the stresses of modern living. Designed for every level of ability, age, and physical condition, there are detailed instructions for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. Clearly illustrated, step-by-step instructions explain how to perform each yoga asana, or posture, correctly, while a unique 360-degree view of the final pose shows exactly how to position each part of the body. A special section introduces B.K.S. Iyengar's innovative use of props, enabling beginners or the less flexible to practice the classic yoga asanas more easily and effectively. A further section illustrates sequences of asanas to treat or prevent a wide range of ailments. In addition, there is a 20-week yoga course, personally formulated by B.K.S. Iyengar, which progresses from simple to more challenging postures. Without a doubt, Yoga: The Iyengar Way is the definitive guide to the practice of yoga by the master.

My bible!! .......2007-07-03
I started in Iyengar yoga, and so this is practically the bible for me of poses, alternatives when I can't complete the pose, etc. However, even if you do other styles of yoga this book will be very useful for identifying proper posture in each pose that each yoga type uses. It's also good for indicating certain poses that are recommended or discouraged given health conditions.
Very clear instruction, pictures and well-organized! A must have!!
Excellent.......2007-06-15
This is the best yoga book because it gives excellent guidance to perform the postures safely which is very important. I'm doing specific postures for a health issue and they really work. I am amazed by the power in them to affect healthy functioning of the body. I highly recommend it along with diet and other approaches to resolving health issues.
Great Yoga technique!.......2007-05-18
I find BKS Iyengar yoga to be awesome. I began this style practice in a local yoga studio. I recently purchased this book to help strengthen my home practice. I value the details of each pose, it reassures me that I am doing the poses correctly. It is a great purchase!
Informative and easy.......2007-03-10
This book is one of the best for yoga, whether beginning or advanced. All information is laid out well and easy to follow.
Take the nutritional advice with a grain of salt!.......2006-11-21
B.K.S. Iyengar stands as the greatest modern innovator and popularizer of hatha yoga.
But I hope that this review will help prevent the admiration which he certainly deserves from spilling over into unthinking adulation.
Why? This book offers plentiful, good advice on asana practice, but in its advice on nutrition, among several other topics, this book just doesn't stand up. Iyengar makes no reference to protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, food allergies, eating disorders -- he instead only provides a very brief gloss on ancient Hindu concepts of sattvic, rajasic, and tamasic foods. (I suggest a Web search on those words to get a detailed understanding of them, and their cultural context.)
On pages 18 and 19, Iyengar attempts to "sell" yoga, going so far as to contend that the physical exercise in yoga is intrinsically different from other physical activity involving the same or nearly the same actions. For example, he disparages isometric exercise for aging people, although isometric exercise is widely recommended for aging people and is a major component of many yoga poses.
Iyengar's advice on application of yoga to certain physical ailments is just as far off the mark, as Dr. Mohamed F. El-Hewie indicates in his Amazon review of this book.
Iyengar has traveled the world and been exposed to educated people from many cultures, making these deficits is all the more perplexing. Yoga certainly isn't *the* one path to holistic health, it doesn't address all aspects of that topic, and less so when it doesn't embrace modern knowledge.
To summarize, this book is useful for its advice on yoga practice, but Iyengar has overstepped his limits on other topics. He also has suffered from the work of editors who would not help shape the book to reflect its title properly, or else select a title to reflect the content. Want to compare, contrast, be led onward? This book doesn't even have a bibliography!
Well, enough, I need to have time for my asana practice today.
Book Description
Nexus offers an engaging and insightful journey of an odd mix of people drawn together to a spiritual retreat to overcome personal pain. This book will please readers of spiritual, new age, inspirational, self-help and visionary fiction books. It weaves insights within the narrative like The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield and The Peaceful Warrior series by Dan Millman.
Starting with a dramatic suicide scene through intimate details of the struggle of Logan Andrews with depression and despair, we are brought on a journey of inner struggle and personal transformation. The reader is transported to a spiritual retreat where the experiences of people at the retreat provide illuminating life lessons. The tone of book creates an authentic journey that is both exploratory and insightful.
The overriding theme in
Nexus is mystical in its nature, narrating experiences of deeper connection felt with one another and all of life. This is poignantly highlighted in key passages, including Logan's empathy for a dying fish in Chapter 6.
Customer Reviews:
Need for Spiritual Change.......2007-07-01
I've read many spiritual books and this one really spoke to me with a story that communicated about both the highs and lows of spiritual life through the touching journey of people at a retreat center. Each person in the story is dealing with their own sorrow from the depression-despair of Logan, Sarah's loss of direction and Muriel's desire to be comforted in her old age. Steven is fixated on his money-making schemes and in order for him to experience growth, he needs to connect to the path of love.
The story speaks of something deeper - a need for spiritual change. It isn't always stated on the surface and you have to dig deeper to recognize that as the central theme of this book. Yet you feel this impulse motivating the communication between teachers and students at the retreat center and the experiences there allude to a deeper bond - to the Nexus that connects us all through our heart where empathy and compassion can grow with experiences of our Oneness. The compassion Logan shows for a dying fish vividly captures this theme. This vision of non-duality is always there beneath the surface though our ego stands in the way of its realization.
The message in this book is beautiful and so I want others to know about it. Through spiritual books like this, we can delve into consciousness transformation and share it with others.
Really Bad. Don't Buy.......2007-06-30
I made the mistake of purchasing this book because it was referenced in a review for The Road (an amazing fiction currently on the best seller list). Now I realize I was probably led into buying it by one of the authors' friends or supporters. The 5 star reviews are bias, to say the least! The dialogue is beyond bad. It is stilted and at times downright silly. I love top quality spiritual writings like "The Power of Now" by E. Tolle or the writings of D. Chopra. It's not that I am spiritually closed, I just know very bad writing when I see it.
This "fiction" is an attempt to flesh out the spiritual teachings of the two authors through poorly crafted, one dimensional characters. I would rather drink flax oil and fast for a week to better my soul than read this kind of stuff. I anticipate receiving some unsupportive votes for this review, and these will likely come from the friends of the authors who have written the 5 star reviews. So be it. I'd rather be honest and save the potential Amazon customer some money!
Thought Provoking.......2007-05-30
NEXUS is an absorbing guide to the dazzling universe of spirituality! Written in the appealing genre of a new age novel I found NEXUS to be a remarkable psychological and spiritual adventure filled with mystery, enchantment, romance, insights, as well as being highly realistic in terms of life's joys and sorrows. I just couldn't put the book down!!!
The diverse assortment of characters were realistic, and the plot was deep, lively and fast paced throughout. NEXUS WORKED AT VERY DEEP LEVELS OF MY MIND TO PENETRATE MY SUBCONSCIOUS AND TO EXPAND AND INSPIRE MY SUPERCONSCIOUS MIND. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!
By carefully reading NEXUS and reflecting on the philosophical insights inherent throughout the book I found that I could tap into my deepest inner centre of being- my inner source of strength, wisdom and compassion...what a discovery!!!
I heard about NEXUS from a friend and that is why I bought the book. I told another friend about NEXUS but she had already just finished reading it and was most impressed.
It seems that people everywhere are suddenly experiencing an intense attraction to NEXUS, one of the most valuable books I've read in a long time.
Another new age novel that I highly recommend is The Saint, the Surfer, and the CEO: A Remarkable Story About Living Your Heart's Desires
Spiritually Uplifting.......2007-05-21
Every once in a while you come across a book that resonates at a deeper soulful level. "Nexus: A Neo Novel" is one of those books that touches you through a spiritual journey of transformation of people in the book. Their transformation is an inner one at the level of their heart and psyche.
For Logan Andrews the transformation requires that he move from negative thoughts and emotions to positive ones. This task is fraught with difficulties, since even at a spiritual retreat intended to help people find the centre of their being called the Nexus, Logan is confronted with his greatest loss as he meets his ex, Sarah.
I really liked the sub-plot with Steven, an arrogant millionaire, who at first is irritating but in time he grows on you and becomes an endearing person. Steven believes that money is the answer to life's problems but has he lost his way?
Even though the writers of "Nexus" have their own unique voice, still this book reminds me of other visionary writers like James Redfield, Carlos Castaneda and Dan Millman. I highly recommend "Nexus" as a deeply moving experience of personal transformation whose message spiritual readers will most appreciate.
Powerful Insights.......2007-04-23
The appeal of "Nexus" lies in an original story that is fast-paced and chock-full of powerful insights. This book is about transformation as an organic process.
The novel is unique as a collaborative effort by two authors who have successfully integrated their writing into an inspiring narrative. This book explores the ups and downs of spiritual life through the journey of people at a spiritual retreat and we can relate their experiences to our own life.
I love this book for its piercing insights and a memorable soulful journey. "Nexus" reminds me of books like "The Celestine Prophecy," "The Life of Pi" and "The Alchemist" - some other books that I've enjoyed reading.

When Bri. Maya Tiwari was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer at the age of 23, her doctor recommend that she die painlessly with "heavy doses of morphine." Instead, she decided to design a rigorous self-healing practice that led her to become cancer-free and one of the only female experts on traditional Ayurvedic medicine in the world. Using her personal story as the anchor, Tiwari shares her extensive knowledge of the Vedas, especially as it pertains to feminine health and well-being.
Readers who are familiar with Deepak Chopra's books on Ayurvedic medicine may feel bogged down by Tiwari's extensive explanations of spiritual teachings, with much emphasis on the Divine Mother and the feminine energy called shakti. Take a slow breath and be patient. These ancient stories are important since they speak to the origins and fundamental philosophy behind the Vedic approach to female health. They are also the keys to understanding the three-part practice of breath work, diet, and chanting that Tiwari explains throughout. Be prepared for a health book with spiritual integrity that shuns easy formulas and instead looks toward the lasting rewards of a committed practice. --Gail Hudson
Book Description
"We are wellness. We are consciousness. That is our natural state. Disease is an imposter."
As one of the world's only female experts on the ancient Indian tradition of Ayurvedic medicine, renowned teacher Bri. Maya Tiwari has devoted her heart and soul to sharing the philosophy and methods that saved her from terminal cancer and redirected her life. Now, in The Path of Practice, she offers a short course in healing and living and reveals how she has gone back to the sources of Ayurvedic wisdom to reclaim time-honored, natural, and spiritual techniques for contemporary life.
Diagnosed with ovarian cancer at twenty-three, Bri. Maya was given two months to live. Her doctors' advice: die painlessly with heavy dosages of morphine. Instead, in the middle of winter, she left her career as a popular fashion designer in New York City and began several months of intensive meditation and holistic nutrition alone in a remote Vermont cabin. By Spring, her health and vitality had been restored. Inspired by dramatic visions and dreams of her family and ancestors, Bri. Maya became a student of one of India's few living masters of the traditional Vedas. Today, healthy in body and spirit, she devotes herself to teaching the wisdom practices of the Vedas to help others heal emotional and spiritual discomfort, dis-ease, and physical illness.
In The Path of Practice, Bri. Maya's gentle, compassionate voice instructs you in living life consciously in the present moment, so that you can recover your natural rhythms and align yourself and your inner cycles with the universe. With particular emphasis on using the primordial feminine healing power of shakti--which everyone possesses--Bri. Maya leads you through the daily practice, or sadhana, of a three-part wellness program that includes nutrition and cooking with whole foods, breath work and meditation, and chanting with healing sounds. Encouraged by the inspirational stories of Bri. Maya's life and those of others who have made these simple but powerful practices an integral part of their lives, you will learn how to take charge of your own health. Through Bri. Maya's unique philosophy and practice of "cosmic memory," you will discover your personal, body wisdom and intuition, your singular mission in the world, and your connection to the divine within you and around you.
Filled with illuminating insights, easy-to-follow recipes, and meditations and exercises that can be adapted to different lifestyles and traditions, The Path of Practice is one of the only holistic programs designed for women by a woman. Imbued with the spiritual strength and centeredness of its remarkable author, here is a practical and profound book you will turn to time and time again for instruction, wisdom, and peace of mind.
From the Trade Paperback edition.

Can we return to Eden.......2002-03-29
As a beginner in the study of Vedic Practice, Bri Maya has written in words much that is wonderful, soft and serene. Perhaps the most difficult portion to describe is what is written between her lines.
The tender and affectionate tone of her words conveys all that I have hoped Ayurveda would be. She is a shinning example of what can be accomplished when a science based on infinite wisdom is applied with love.
Bri Maya has titled her book " A Womans Book of Ayurvedic Healing" and while I don't know her true intent here surely this is a lovely book for anyone. I was in awe and am now an official fan.
Good inspiration for those seeking a spiritual practice.......2001-07-15
Bri. Maya Tiwari is a rare soul who is totally dedicated to helping people renew their spiritual selves. For years I have been aware of the healing value of food, breath, and sound, but this book helped me understand these practices as interrelated, spiritual concepts. The Path of Practice was a great, general boost for me to get serious about my spiritual practice and I have since been inspired to maintain a daily yoga practice. And I never imagined that grinding mustard seeds by hand would induce such a calmness and meditative stillness. And, there is much wonderful information in this book that is applicable to men too.
Surprisingly simple ways to regain harmony.......2001-03-01
I was fortunate to hear Bri Maya Tiwari speak at the Southwest Yoga Conference...simply because our booth was in the same room as the scheduled lecture...what a blessing! Her methods which incorporate the healing nature of sound, food, and breathing are easy to understand and implement if one truly desires attunement with the natural rythms of life...I immediately bought her book, and have begun to use many of the techniques to bring my life closer to the truth and balance we are designed to live...
Path of Practice: A woman's book of healing..........2001-01-12
I have read this book and found it to be absolutely wonderful. It is filled with helpful, practical and attainable suggestions for developing a daily practice that will bring you back to yourself. Bri Maya tells her own healing journey which is healing in itself just reading it. The stories of those she has encountered along her path and how she has helped them help themselves are so moving and brought me to tears more than once. I highly recommend this book, and not only for women. There are healing therapies recommended for women, but are good for men to know as well. The food information, setting up your kitchen, realizing that food is so much more than just fuel is information that will change your life, and again, show you your truest self. I recently gave this book to a friend. She said, "Well, I don't think I'll read it but I think it will give good energy just being on my bookshelf." I agreed with what she said about the good energy, but I recommend reading this book. It is written by an enlightened woman teaching us in a time when so many things pull us away from our path, or dharma and ourselves. This book is one opportunity to look within and gives suggestions to develop a practice of doing so in our daily lives.
A Must Have Book for Living a Healthy and Vibrant Life.......2001-01-11
Bri Maya Tiwari has shared some of her very personal stories of her own life and healing journey. Her wisdom she shares throughout the book is priceless and timeless. She has again, as in her other books, made available to the world, simple life nuturing and sustaining methods that will enable all those who read her book to start or stay on their path of living in a vibrant and healthy way. Through her books and workshops I have been able to heal myself of seasonal allergies and have also begun to heal some deep ancestorial/family issues. I recommend this book highly.

I found this book not only enlightening but also inspiring and empowering. Fred Busch's writing style makes the subject of healthiness, through whole-body exercise and natural foods, a delight to read. The concepts explained in the book are presented in a simple yet comprehensive way, his facts are well sustained, it is easy to read and simple to understand. Many books present a lot of theory, and research studies, but very little on how to actually incorporate something new into our lives; this book has a whole section dedicated to this subject, I found that section to be very empowering. I would recommend this book to all those interested in treating themselves to a good read, and a better life on a day to day basis.
Lacks science.......2007-03-05
Although this book has very good advice about the raw vegan diet and yoga in general, it makes claims that are scientifically unsubstantiated. There is NO evidence that drinking tea is not healthy, the research shows that it IS high in antioxidants. I attempted to look up some of Mr Busch's claims in the nutritional literature and could find anything to back them up. I also don't like the fact that it promotes E3 live, a nutritional product which is not approved by the FDA. This book promotes the author's personal agenda ather than solid science- based nurtitional knowledge.
This Book Changed Me.......2006-04-29
This book is a must read for anyone who wants to know about the benefits of a raw food diet and yoga.
I enjoyed this book very much. It was easy to read and every point that Fred makes about yoga and the raw food diet makes perfect sense. If there was one thing that I got out of this book is that it completely opened my eyes about how bad we treat ourselves by eating processed foods and animal products. I like the illustrated yoga poses to help guide me in my daily yoga routines. There is also raw food diet recipies in the back of the book to help us merge into a healthy nutrition lifestyle.
Thanks Fred
Great book that is short and simple!.......2006-03-07
This book is short but so packed full of valuable information that it is almost hard to believe. Everything is explained so clearly and Fred's attitude is one of patience and compassion.
It IS your clear and definite path!.......2006-03-03
I'm so excited and inspired after reading your book. It is so down to earth and concise. I love the whole thing. The foods to eat and not eat sound so logical and easy to do. Thank you so much for your commitment to people's well-being and for what ever it took for you to write this book.

Just OK.......2006-11-28
This book is nothing special - a book of OK recipes that provide little insight into how to cook venison.
Great Recipes.......2006-02-24
I really enjoyed the wide variety of recipes that are in this book. I would highly recommend this to someone.
Nothing like what iowa's Cousin Rick Black Has!! Give us The Deer Burger Cookbook anytime!.......2006-01-11
Cut and Dry.. Iowa's Cousin Rick Black is by far the leader with us deer hunters and how we cook our harvest. I got a copy of 301 Venison Recipes from my uncle. I asked him why he was tossing it out? His reply? "Heck boy, I got The Deer Burger Cookbook and the Venison Cookbook by Cousin Rick Black"!
Yepper! Like everyone else. "We will stick with Rick" and his Deer Burger Cookbook and Bag Em and Tag Em.
Very Poor, Rick Black's books are by far better! .......2005-01-15
Sorry about the bad review, but the truth hurts. I like every other hunter now days am a Big fan of Iowa's wildman Rick Black and his line of outdoor books. I will stick with Rick. For the deer hunter I reccemend the following by Black" Bag Em and Tag Em, Venison cookbook, The dead deer cookbook, and Cookin' with beer, If your a redneck like me then you will love TRAILER TRASh COOKIN' (A VERY FUNNY BOOK)
A very good book with a variety of recipies.......1999-03-03
My wife bought this book after I ,finally, brought home my first deer. We had venison roast ("Bag-o-Buck") for Thanksgiving that year. My son, who doesn't like anything that isn't from McDonalds, decided after that meal that he actually likes venison (darn it, that's less for me!)
