Best book I've found to date........2007-09-12
This book is easy to read, both text and the actual structure of the book for those with arthritis in your hands. It has a section regarding techniques different doctors are currently trying. This is a book that offers alot of information, both for the newly diagnosed and those just looking for that "kernal" of new information that just might help. I highly recommend this book. I wish I had found this book three years ago. I wouldn't have so many books gathering dust.
Actually Does What it Says...!.......2007-08-12
This book is such a wonderful surprise! I call it my Fibro Bible and I refer to it regularly!
The title suggests that it will give you all "you need to know" to help you cope with this illness, and it DOES!
It's very comprehensive, factual, and is written by two nurse practitioners who work with FM patients and if I'm not mistaken they too suffer from Fibro.
This book contains such a wealth of information and is written in a very organized and easy-to-follow manner. The book contains logs & charts to help you track symptoms and other problems, which will help give your doctor a clear picture of your situation.
This book also covers medications, how to dress for maximum comfort, how to deal with people who don't understand your problem, how to talk to your family & friends about your illness, and how to minimize stress in your life so you won't have another "flare-up."
It talks about so many topics that you wouldn't think were inter-related to FM. As I read on, I found myself nodding my head in perfect clarity as certain things became so apparent to me.
Please read this book; it will really change your perspective and offer you a lot of help. It's not like the other books; it doesn't talk about the scientific part of FM although the nurses have a terrific bibliography in the back of the book.
For me, this is My Bible. Read it; you'll see why!
its all guuuud.......2007-03-22
this is a goodbook...when you getthe news your wifehas this disease..
andyou've been wondering..."whats really going on"..this book nails it..

great.......2007-03-10
I love this book... lots of charts and lists you can scan and put on your fridge... just a overall good book on fibro... highly reccomend
Not as good as I expected.......2007-01-18
I found that this book had more information from a medical view then from a living day to day view. I also puchased Fibromyalgia for Dummies and found that to be more helpful for people who don't have or need medical background.

Book Description
Top ten New York Times bestselling author J.A. Jance brings another stunning novel of passion, violence, and dreams turned deadly, featuring Seattle Homicide Detective J.P. Beaumont.
There are many bizarre and terrible ways to die. Seattle Homicide Detective J.P. Beaumont thought he had seen them all – until he saw this body, its wounds, and the murder weapon: an elegant woman's shoe, its stiletto heel gruesomely caked with blood. The evidence is shocking and unsettling, even for a man who prowls the shadows for a living, for it suggests that savagery is not the exclusive domain of the predatory male. And the scent of a stylish killer is pulling Beaumont into a world of drugs, corruption, and murder to view close–up a cinematic dream at its most nightmarish䠮d lethal.

"Something's wrong and I can't tell what it is".......2007-08-18
J.P. Beaumont is one of the most likable and intriguing characters in the mystery genre. He is a divorced detective who has a daughter in college and enough money that he does not need to work, but he enjoys his job. J.P. is the proud owner of a long list of failures with women, not all of which were his fault. It starts with his divorce, and then follows with women with which he gets involved and who end up either dead or on the guilty side of a crime. Whenever I start a new book in this series I ask myself: will it be different this time?
This time around, the case involves a dead man by the tracks and a woman's shoe near the body with blood on its stiletto heel. This is complemented by another dead man, apparently from natural causes, in the house of the first victim. J.P. gets the case and he immediately suspects foul play in the case of the second body. And the discovery of a pack of cocaine in the victim's pillow adds timber to the fire. From then on, the plot starts moving full speed and there are plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep our interest at a maximum level.
All of the usual players are present in this story. We have the femme fatale, the annoying Maxwell Cole, who hates Beau's guts, and a new partner. Beau's new sidekick is Big Al Lindstrom, but we will soon see his old partner, Peters, help from the hospital. Peters is there due to a broken vertebrae, and after a period of depression he decides to start "living" again and pulls a "Lincoln Rhyme".
J.A. Jance has done it again. She delivers another novel that moves at a fast pace and that keeps us guessing as to what is really going on until the last few pages. The author shows how good she is at varying her style, and the contrast between this series and the one featuring Joanna Brady could not be clearer. She does a fantastic job in both series though.
I recommend this book to everyone that loves a good mystery, but I just want to give you a word of advice. Do not start this novel close to the end of your day, or you will find yourself reading well into the night. There is no letting go; trust me, I learned this from experience!
ANOTHER GREAT ADDITION TO THIS AUTHOR'S WORK.......2007-03-21
I feel that the fans of J.P. Beaumont will love this one. It is so typical J.A. Jance. I enjoyed every page of this one. Another reviewer has done a wonderful job of outlining the plot, so I will not repeat what is obvious. Jance's character developement (this author's strongest skill) holds very true to form with this work and we learn more and more of her detective Beaumont. We also get a look at the drug culture in that part of the country (Seattle of course) and some of the alternative life styles found their. This work has some fascinating twists (no spoilers here) and as one reviewer points out, just when you have things figured out, you get the rug pulled from under you. Of course, the book will be much better for those who have read the preceeding books dealing with this seattle Cop, but the book is also able to stand on it's own and is simply a good read. Recommend this one highly.

Sometimes we are taken on a fast paced ride to certain disaster.
And sometimes we are taken to extreme forms of human pain.
But if you want to live a life of a Detective/PI, then you have picked a good character to delve into.

The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: The Air Force's challenge will be to minimize potential takings litigation while accomplishing its mission in the face of demands placed upon it by base closures, base realignments, and encroachment. This paper will begin by addressing the development of the law governing Fifth Amendment takings for overflights of aircraft, examine the potential impacts that the Supreme Court's decision in Lucas v. South Carolina Coastal Commission will have on future litigation in this area, and discuss the defenses available to the Air Force in such cases. Next, the Air Force's Air Installation Compatible Use Zone Program and the takings implications of the program will be discussed. The paper will then conclude with a brief discussion of recent takings legislation proposed in Congress and its potential impact on takings claims associated with overflights and the AICUZ program.

It's about time!!!.......2003-03-06
Having read her first book "Consumer Power," I was hungry for more of Susan Frederick's direct, easy to grasp, down to business coaching. In The Fifth Element, she expands on the concepts in "Consumer Power" and adds a powerful new twist. What would it be like if, instead of companies ruling the marketplace--consumers became the company? What if consuming became a bridge to financial freedom? Except for Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad series, I haven't read anything as intriguing and practical for the everyday person in a long time. This is an opportunity we can all take advantage of. She calls it a "consumer revolution." I say, "It's about time!!"

Another great entry in the "Dying Earth" series........2000-01-03
Vance's baroque and vibrant style is in full force here. I must admit that the "Dying Earth" books are among my favorites, as they were my introduction to Vance's work to begin with. This book features Rhialto, a magician residing on Earth at the end of time. As in previous books of this series, there is some time travel...and one of the adventures takes place at the end of the universe (that's right, a finite wall marking the limits of the universe). Vance's characters are fascinating, as usual; unscrupulous, arrogant, witty and clever. His dry humor is evident throughout. Another reviewer takes issue with Vance's use of obscure and self-created words. I think this just adds flavor to Vance's work. Regardless, "made-up" words are a fairly common convention in this genre and I don't think it amounts to much of an issue. Clearly Vance's style is unique, but not so unusual as to be inaccessible (witness his Hugo, Nebula and Edgar awards). If you're familiar with Vance, you've probably already bought everything you can find. If not, this would make as good an introduction to his work as any. They're all good.
An excellent addition to The Dying Earth series.......1998-07-03
This is a collection of stories about Rhialto, a magician who lives in Vance's Dying Earth. Fans of Cugel's Saga and the previous Dying Earth books will love it, as will those who just want a good read. Vance's command of the English language is formidable, and his descriptive passages are priceless. This book is humorous, sardonic, and very rich indeed.

Book Description
World Fandom magazine called Marc Cerasini's 1996 novel Godzilla Returns "an astounding debut of a new series." In Cerasini's new Godzilla adventure, teenager Kip Daniels is grabbed by two mysterious men after he breaks all previous records on a new video game called Battleground 2000. The military created the game to recruit new talent for training on a high-tech flying weapon to be used against Godzilla and other giant monsters who have been wreaking havoc worldwide. Kip and five other teenagers agree to join the secret organization called G-Force USA, but do they stand a chance against the mighty Godzilla? This nonstop science fiction thriller takes readers from the Russian Mir space station to the wheat fields of Kansas, and from a secret Pentagon testing base to the top of Mount Rushmore!

Cerasini Makes A Giant LIVE...!.......2006-07-26
The Godzilla series has its own, built-in, mythology. All G-fans study the movies to the last detail, & most debate various monster vs monster match-ups.
Cerasini is one of us, & knowns every detail of the equipment & creatures of Godzilla's Pantheon of Radioactive Horrors.
This book recounts Godzilla's return in finely-crafted detail.
I only wish Marc could get to write "This is Tokyo", ostensibly by Steve Martin, the fictional journalist who witnessed Godzilla's first appearence in the 50's.
Pretty good ,but not the best.......2004-11-27
This book is pretty good but not as good as Marc Cerasini's other books. It does have some good parts to it. I enjoyed the part where Godzilla battles a tornado and I also like the ending battle with Godzilla, Mothra & King Ghidora. There are some not so great parts to it. Kamacuras do NOT eat people!!!Over all, I thought it was rather like a real godzilla movie, not great but not bad! Dylan, 10 years old
Godzilla and Company in a Whole New Light.......2004-06-29
Marc Cerasini has written GODZILLA 2000, a story of the millennium, apocalypse and giant monsters. But this is not just a giant monster book. As Robert Price of Crypt of Cthulhu notes, Cerasini has taken these monsters and rid them of their taint of cartoonism.
This book continues the story of Godzilla who has appeared twice before (as seen in the movies Godzilla, King of the Monsters and Godzilla 1985). Some asteroids that pass through our system every 65 million years are coming around again. This time it looks like they will strike the Earth. But the asteroids are not the only threat. A Japanese research team has located Godzilla and he is awakening. Resources are now split between dealing with the asteroids and speeding up production of defenses against Godzilla.
Soon the first of the asteroids arrive and new monsters are seen to walk the Earth. A giant reptile crawls out of the Gulf of Mexico and terrorizes the Yucatan. An asteroid fragment causes insects in Kansas to mutate horribly. A researcher among the Alaskan Natives learns of a prophecy involving the Firebird. The Earth Spirit tries to contact various humans to warn that Godzilla is an ally and the Destroyer of Life is coming.
This almost reads like an DC Comics' Otherworlds tale. Imagine Rodan as the legendary Firebird or Mothra as the embodiment of the Earth Spirit. While old monsters are seen in a new light, Cerasini delivers a fast-paced tale full of action. If you enjoyed the old Japanese monster films you just might want to pick up this book and see the old monsters fresh as the day they were created.
Godzilla 2000 Review.......2002-06-11
This book is an okay book, but definitely not one of Marc Cerasini's best. His other Godzilla books have been much better, such as Godzilla Returns and Godzilla at World's End. In this book, I thought that the main character, Kip Daniels, was not a good character to play the part of the person who is going to save the world from everyone's favorite monster. The plot was kind of thin for my liking, and seeing how good Cerasini's other Godzilla books have been, I don't think it can really compare.
However, I did like the big action sequence at the end of the book involving the other monsters from previous Godzilla books. I also liked how Godzilla was plagued with the question of whether he was a friend or a foe. And though I thought the book was alright, the whole "The world must end because it's the beginning of the new millenium" thing was a bit overdone and not too believable. Now, not to take away from those other books concerning that subject matter, but this one doesn't compare to other Y2K books such as Y2K by R.J. Pinero.
Overall, I thought this book was good, but not one of Marc Cerasini's best. I would recomend this book to hardcore Godzilla fans, but not to someone just looking for a good read. A good boook, but not a classic, that's for sure.
Justin's review on Godzilla 2000.......2002-01-23
In 1999 the Californian Kip Daniels, a fifteen year old, is selected to the G-Force team. That is ateam planned to train and fight Godzilla. Scientists thought he would return since he came to Japan fifty years ago. Dr. Mishra and Dr. Reyes have discovered an asteroid the size of Texas. Now the Earth is in trouble and Kip, Lori, Martin, Toby, and Pierce are still training.
Meteorite showers are crashing on the terrified Earth and plagues of mysterious monstes are unleashed. Varan is attacking Mexico and Texas, Giant Kamacuras in Kansas, And Rodan in Mount Rushmore. It was hardfor the military now. As we get closer to the year 2000it gets worse. Sooner or later Godzilla appears to trudge slowly across America. Will G-Force be successful? Is the oppinion of Godzilla really true? Is he friend or foe?
That question will be answered with one discovery. A bright golg star appears in th sky. It might of came from the asteroid explosion. Did they even explode the asteroid in time? Whatever it is, it doesn't look good. It might be the end of the world. Godzilla still trudges past Chicago. As the stargets closer, the U.S worries. Find out how this exciting book ends. Marc Cerasini wrote an intriguing book. The only qustion is, is Godzilla friend or foe?

There are thousands of cookie recipes out there already, and probably hundreds of cookie recipe books. What makes The Good Cookie different, and worth making room for, is Tish Boyle. Food editor of the magazines Chocolatier and Pastry Art & Design, Boyle uses her experience as a pastry chef to update, improve, and choose between all those thousands of recipes for classic and best-loved cookies. She also includes recipes contributed by other excellent pastry chefs she's met, and for the remainder she relies on her own creative genius.
With over 250 recipes to choose from, Boyle makes the task much easier with mouth-watering introductions that describe in detail the appearance, texture, and taste of every cookie. The chapters are organized by technique, but the recipes are reorganized in an ingenious index by occasion or use: Ship Well, For Grown-Ups, Over-the-Top Chocolate, Bake Sale Bonanza, and the like. You'll find favorites such as Russian Tea Cakes, Lattice-Topped Linzer Bars, and Hermits, and crowd pleasers like Citrus Sandwiches and Blueberry Crumble Bars. Contributions from others include Chocolate Cranberry Spice Cookies, Ginger Fortune Cookies, and Midnight Brownies (made with Midnight Milky Way bars!). But what makes The Good Cookie priceless are the gems such as the crispy, chewy Tangerine Kumquat Rounds, explosive with citrus flavor, and Boyle's clear, detailed instructions that ensure their success. --Leora Y. Bloom

the best cookies.......2007-07-07
This is one of the best cookie cook books I have the pleasure of owning. They are a little exotic but easy recipes and taste soooo good. If you believe in butter and sugar and everything nice deserves to be in a cookie, you'll love this cookbook. Don't hesitate - buy it. A friend of mine regularly takes this out of the library - I say, why bother, just buy it!
"victory brownies" my choice as the best brownie recipe of all time!.......2007-05-28
amazing, easy to follow, the best cookie book out there, hands down.
The only cookie book you need!.......2007-02-09
I used to have a side business selling cookies and have made more varieties of cookies than anyone I know. This is hands down my favorite cookie book. The pictures are beautiful, the organization is thoughtful, and the recipes are scrumptious and spot-on. My favorite cookie of all time is the monster fudge nut cookie featured here. Every time I have made it, people gush over how wonderful it is. I strongly recommend this book.
Intermediate to advanced..........2006-12-12
So far, I've enjoyed every recipe I've attempted from Tish Boyle's collection. However, the only limitation of this book is the presentation -- i.e., the lack of photos. Half the pleasure of cookies, I think, is being able to see them -- their shapes, color, thickness and texture.
I would not recommend this book to a beginner. This is really for someone who's at least at an intermediate level -- familiar with all the tools of crafty cookie-making and has the capacity to make adjustments, such as adding or subtracting flour, as needed.
Yum!.......2006-09-20
So far I love this book! The recipes I have tried are really good - the other reviewers are right about the chocolate chip cookies. I spent several evenings just perusing the book before I made anything because there's quite a variety and most of them sound really good. It's nice to have so many recipes in one place. My only very minor complaints are that there aren't enough pictures and that for someone who doesn't like coconut or walnuts in cookies, there seem to be a lot of recipes with them. I'd like for the author to indicate when nuts are optional, but I guess I'll figure that out on my own. The chocolate chip cookies were awesome even without the nuts and without any adjustment to the recipe.
